Magical little Trattoria in Rome. We arrived to our ABB apartment late in Rome on a Tuesday night. We were hungry and just wanted a glass of wine and a pizza before we went to bed and this little Tratttoria was two doors down. We walked in, sat down, and I am only assuming the owner approached us with a bowl of fresh bread and a small plate of meatballs—before we even ordered anything! We did order a bottle of wine (house wine) which came served in a pitcher! AND IT WAS VERY GOOD! By now, we had ordered our pizza and we felt like the lady and the tramp in the Disney movie having the incredible Italian restaurant experience. Magical. Pizza was excellent. Atmosphere was charming. Owner was what you would expect from a small Trattoria...proud of his place, his food and absolute dedication to taking good care of his customers. We visited La Forchetta d´Oro three times while in Rome and on the last visit, I was sorry to have to say goodbye to my new friend. He brought us a complimentary Tiramisu. THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD! It was amazing. Looking for the REAL Italian restaurant experience? Visit La Forchetta d´Oro. It's small, so get there early and if you have to wait, it'll be worth it.

stopped in for lunch. my sister eats gluten free and husband wanted pizza. It was perfecto. we ate caprese, fungi pizza and homemade tiramisu and gf eggplant and dessert that looked like flan or creme brulee (gf). highly recommend

I recently visited this restaurant and was really pleased! The food was delicious and well-prepared — the pasta with tomato sauce was perfectly balanced, with fresh ingredients and a nice touch of cheese on top. I also calculated the calories using the service mentioned in the photo attached to the review — it turned out to be super convenient and fast! I definitely recommend everyone to try using this calorie-tracking service — it makes keeping an eye on your diet really easy. Great place and a great experience!

We stumbled upon this little Italian gem and it turned out to be an absolute culinary delight. The seafood was fresher than gossip in a small town — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The steak was grilled to perfection, tender and juicy, while the lamb practically melted off the bone!

Absolutely love the food here. We had just gotten back into town from Naples where we had the worst pizza of our lives and La Forchetta d'Oro saved the day. The Bruschetta was amazing and the bread tasted very fresh. I had the gnocchi with pesto and I loved it, my wife had the carbonarra which was also delicious. For dessert we had the Tiramisu, and Panna Cotta. So far the best we have had since coming to Italy. The panna cotta was so smooth with just the right amount of sweetness, and the tiramisu was like eating a fluffy pillow of chocolate and espresso that melted in your mouth. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

Really lovely restaurant, and exceptionaly kind staff, gave out some freebies and was just incredibly kind and caring and outgoing, it really was a beautiful experience, and the food was outstanding, i think it was genuinely the best fresh mozzerela i’ve had in my entire life. The pizza was fresh, well cooked and balanced, my only critique if i was nittpicking is that they left the vein on one of the crayfish … but it doesn’t bother me that much! Overall, a really really lovely experience, couldn’t recommend enough if you’re in the area.

The owner of La Forchetta d’Oro is a person who cares for his business with his heart. After a small hiccup, the owner felt really responsible and we were not only treated with a new steak, he even served us Tiramisu and limoncello. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great. I just love people who run their business with their heart and don’t rest until everyone is satisfied and a happy customer. My sincere respect to the restaurant and the owner. I cannot say how much this means to me…

The best meal I had in Rome! Beautiful fresh bruschetta and al dente spaghetti and melt in your mouth tiramisu. On a pretty back street away from the noise, family run - wish I was staying in Roma longer so we could go back.

The food at this place is absolutely amazing. There’s plenty of vegetarian options and all so delicious! The owner himself is so kind and generous, and always giving complimentary food. The service is great and the ambience is cozy and welcoming, very memorable. I will forever remember my experience here and return again.

Buon ristorante italiano gestito da stranieri. Menu della tradizione romana con qualche accorgimento mediorientale. Ambiente casereccio e prezzi ottimi. Il cibo è buono ed il servizio veloce e attento. Ho mangiato meglio qui che in altri ristoranti più "fighi e tradizionali".

Locale molto particolare ti offrono l’antipasto della casa, il dolce (tiramisù della casa) e gli amari, cibo abbastanza buono, noi abbiamo provato gli spaghetti alla carbonara ed erano buoni, le patatine fritte non molto. Il titolare è molto simpatico e gentile come anche il personale e il prezzo è ottimo.

Antipasto con frittata di zucchine e cipolle, accompagnata da salame, melanzane grigliate, prosciutto crudo, pomodoro fresco e mozzarella di bufala. Tonnarelli alla gricia e tonnarelli cacio e pepe molto buoni! Ambiente accogliente e personale cordiale.

Cibo buonissimo e abbondante. I camerieri talvolta sono spaesati ma gentili L ambiente è scrauso ma pieno di souvenir dei turisti

Un pranzo abbondante e piacevole! L’ambiente è rustico come piace a me: i muri sono costellati di foglietti e tovaglioli con le firme di clienti da tutte le parti del mondo. I prezzi sono un po’ gonfiati ma nulla di esagerato, considerando la posizione privilegiata. Le porzioni sono abbondanti e il cibo è buono, anche se per qualcuno può essere troppo pesante perché molto condito. Il menù offre un’ampia scelta di piatti. Il vino rosso non è stato di mio gusto. Il titolare è simpatico e accogliente, ci ha portato qualche assaggino prima delle portate ed è stato attento ai dettagli. I camerieri al contrario sembravano un po’ svogliati. Vi consiglio di provare l’ossobuco!

Posto molto caratteristico, osteria alla buona come una volta, rivedrei un pochettino la pulizia e la vetrina dei dolci. Molto apprezzabile l'iniziativa di concedere anche a persone non visibilmente sociali l'arte del servizio ai tavoli. Mangiamo bene

This was our first meal in Rome and it did not disappoint. It felt like stepping in to the home of an Italian family - you can tell that the owner cares about the food. They are a little rough around the edges, not the most impeccable service but coming from an Italian background, I can appreciate that completely. The food was good. The caccio e pepe was a bit greasier than we would normally prefer but it was very tasty and the burrito salad was extremely generous in terms of cheese. Nice and fresh ingredients, no frills. Good for a quick, satisfying and casual meal.

We ordered mozzarella di bufalla, bruschetta, pizza and steak. The owner brought us extra ham and salami as well egg cake and tiramisu. Amazing atmosphere in there, friendly and welcoming staff, however steak i cannot recommend, it was terrible. And pizza was mediocre. So very average food experience for us. But they did save it by free meals🙏👍

Attratto dalle recensioni mi infilo in questa trattoria romana per una cena con famiglia visto che alloggio poco distante. Cibo non eccezionale ma soddisfacente soprattutto il tiramisù mi è piaciuto molto. Ciò che non soddisfa è il servizio e l'ambiente veramente scarso e sporco ( bicchiere sporco subito sostituito, personale che non spiaccica una parola in più e sembra che gli si dia fastidio a cenare da loro, pagamento solo contanti, ordini errati visto che mi arriva il pollo alla romana anziché la trippa).

Come in altre recensioni, l’ambiente è abbastanza scrauso: le pareti sono piene di foglietti, frasi, cose attaccate,…. ma è pulito. I prezzi sono evidentemente gonfiati per i turisti: una margherita 9€, però abbiamo mangiato bene. Eravamo in 3 e, prendendo in totale una pizza, due secondi e una caraffa di vino della casa, abbiamo pagato 77€. Nel nostro caso perdono una stella almeno per come il titolare parlava e ci comportava con i suoi dipendenti provenienti dal sud-est asiatico. Alla fine ci hanno offerto una porzione di tiramisù da condividere e il limoncello: entrambi fatti in casa e entrambi buoni.

Abbiamo preso 2 risotti con funghi dal sapore buono, 3 spaghetti con le vongole veramente scotti, praticamente sciolti, 1 lasagna al forno probabilmente scaldata al microonde, comunque moooolto fredda e dal sapore pessimo. Visto l'inizio abbiamo preso poco altro. Il proprietario è un uomo burbero, soprattutto con il personale. Prezzi tutto sommato onesti, ma la qualità è veramente bassa. La fortuna di questo ristorante è la posizione, se fosse un po' più in periferia sarebbe vuoto. Intollerabile per un romano!

Don't order the oxtail. Oxtail and beef cheeks are one of my favorite things to eat. I cook it on a regular basis. I know what it taste like. I know what it looks like. This was not oxtail. I even questioned them when they brought it to my table ... I'm pretty disappointed.

We chose this place because it was close to our hotel. We were greeted by a not-so-friendly man. We sat outside and waited quite a while before our order was taken. The tablecloth was dirty, but the food arrived quickly and tasted good. At the next table there were some Chinese guests trying to explain something to the same man, and he spoke to them rather rudely, which made us feel uncomfortable.

Italian below We came in, service was a disaster, the pitcher and cutlery was not well washed and the food was 'okay' if I'm generous. The waiter and owners' attitude was really unsympathetic and rude. When I indicated the unsatisfactory service they replied: 'Its Sunday, its busy. If you are not satisfied its okay, we will have guests anyway.' As a tourist avoid this place at all costs. Italiano: Siamo entrati, il servizio è stato un disastro, la brocca e le posate non erano ben lavate e il cibo era "ok", a essere generosi. L'atteggiamento del cameriere e dei proprietari è stato davvero scortese e maleducato. Quando ho fatto notare il servizio insoddisfacente, mi hanno risposto: "È domenica, c'è molta gente. Se non siete soddisfatti va bene, avremo comunque ospiti." Come turista, evitate questo posto a tutti i costi.

Esperienza davvero deludente. La carbonara non aveva sapore e sembrava fatta con uovo semplicemente sbattuto. Anche la pizza non era all’altezza: qualità molto bassa alla kebab Ma la cosa peggiore non è stato il cibo. Il titolare, mentre serviva i clienti masticando qualcosa, trattava il dipendente in modo inaccettabile, con toni e modi che mi hanno messo a disagio. A tratti mi veniva voglia di intervenire. Di “sapori di Roma” qui c’è ben poco. E di ospitalità ancora meno. Non lo consiglio.

My wife and I started our vacation in Rome and stumbeld across this little ristorante during other restaurants break hours. We were particularly hungry just wanted to rest while we look up what to do next. We asked tbe owner if they're opened and welcome us in to sit. We were the only one in the restaurant the owner took our order (tripe, beer and house wine). The owner look utterly upset because we ordered "little" but coming to the review section seems I'm not the only one who only ordered small but got the unwelcome committee. Anyway we ate our food and paid and felt that our service wasn't the same as the same family that came in after us. Although we only ordered the tripe we wanted to come back the second night and try out their menu. However we didn't get the chance as we walked in their waiter trying to seat us the owner said something we couldn't understand and said that to sit we have to pay cash (the previous night we were able to pay with our credit card) so I tried to kindly ask why is it different. And before I knew it the owner screamed at us saying to sit you pay cash. And sadly that was it we left and went to the Chinese restaurant out front by the main road where the atmosphere and service is completely 180. It's sad because I saw another Chinese patron wrote them a nice note but unfortunately I did not felt welcome.

Avoid this place. The bistecca di manzo ai ferri was the worst steak I’ve ever had. The steak was unseasoned, very well done to a point where it tasted like rubber and the seared part of the steak was so hard it could break off a tooth. I could not even cut the steak with their knife that’s how hard it was. Did not finish. Potatoes were also horrible and look at that salad, looks days old.
