We had an incredible experience at Runyon’s! The service was amazing — our server, Michael, was outstanding. Not only was his service impeccable, but his knowledge of the menu was truly impressive. He was attentive to everything we needed and gave excellent recommendations. I ordered the prime rib, which was cooked to absolute perfection, and my wife had the filet mignon, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I also had the French onion soup, which was very tasty, though I expected the portion to be a little larger for the price. Overall, the food was fantastic, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting. We’re already looking forward to coming back, especially to enjoy the happy hour at the bar. Highly recommend Runyon’s for anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a welcoming vibe!
I’ve lived in Coral Springs most of my life and I can’t believe I didn’t come sooner. We came here for the first time for my birthday dinner. The service was excellent. The food was unbelievable. The ambience was perfect. 👌🏼
We decided to try the happy hour in the bar and enjoyed the great half price cocktails. We then headed to the dining room to try the porterhouse for two, which was perfectly prepared and delicious. We will definitely be back.
Have been here many times over the years and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Perfect for a celebration, fine dining, happy hour - the menu has something for everyone. Tonight we had prime rib and escargot, both some of the best we have had in a while. The piano player added his fine touch to the evening where the restaurant was completely full. Make reservations and expect a lovely night.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Runyons is a Coral Springs classic. I worked in the kitchen with Ed here 40 years ago, and coming back felt like no time had passed. The same signature dishes are still on the menu, with a few new ones added, and the quality is as sharp as ever. Great atmosphere, great food, and a real sense of tradition. If Michelin came through, this place would easily earn 1 star. A true gem.
Celebrated my birthday Valentine's Day weekend and we were so happy with the food, service and overall ambiance! Service was pretty quick considering the holiday. The escargot, fried green tomatoes and fried onion rings were absolutely delicious and the drinks were very yummy. The main dish was a special osobuco and it was also very tasty and flavorful. Price was reasonable for food you get. Honestly, we can't wait to go back!
This restaurant has a speakeasy and high end aesthetic. During my visit they had a live pianist performing blues and jazz music which set the mood with the decor. We ordered appetizers, entrees, and had cheesecake for dessert. The service is punctual and friendly. The escargot was amazing, the savory garlic butter it was basted in had the perfect combination of several seasonings. The French onion soup they are renowned for had a great flavor. The steaks were cooked per your order, the chefs know what they are doing when it comes to meat and understanding the temperatures. The strip steak was succulent and the filet mignon was lean and well seasoned. Mashed potatoes reminded me of my grandmother’s, buttery and fresh. Carrot and green beans were the sides, they were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The cheesecake for dessert was great, and I’m not a fan of cheesecake, but would definitely order it again. The cocktails were amazing. The alcohol and ingredients combined made a fresh, simple and relaxing beverage after a long work day. The staff adds to the experience. Their courtesy and openness will make you feel like you are at a family reunion. I recommend this establishment to everyone who wants good eats, well made drinks, and atmosphere.
5 star all the way! Seriously the BEST prime rib I've ever had. Wonderful service -- we felt welcomed from the second we stepped foot inside. Piano bar with live music was a nice touch. Pricey but you get what you pay for, totally worth every last penny of the splurge.
I would give 4.5 stars. The entrees were delicious. However, the vegetables were boring because there was nothing added to them. They also didn't give us many vegetables. The creme brulee was ok.
What can I say...everything was great. Although we sat outside, we checked in inside and noticed a very nice atmosphere (we’ll try inside next visit). The outside courtyard style setup is nice (Note to owner, consider a Ficus or artificial ficus Border around the courtyard has to block out the parking lot view). For guests, I wouldn’t let this stop you from dining outside, it’s just a suggestion for the owner. The service was friendly, very knowledgeable and attentive. The food and drinks were delicious. My steak was prepared perfectly and the Asparagus were great. Potato were good but I would have liked a slightly larger portion. Also, it sounded like live jazz from inside. It sounded great and made for the perfect background music to our special dinner. We kept asking ourselves....”Why we haven’t we been to Runyon’s prior? But one thing is for sure, we’ll certainly be back. Highly recommended.
The service was remarkable from hostess, waiters and managers, which greeted us. The ambiance was spectacular, the live music was phenomenal, and the food was superb. We enjoyed the chateaubriand and the tenderloin melts in the mouth with every chew 😍. We definitely will be back soon to enjoy this fine establishment.
I had the daily special of 6oz filet and shrimp, which was wonderful! Then, for dessert the best peanut butter pie you will ever eat! I felt like someone's grandma was the one who made it! Our waitress was fabulous, too!! We will definitely be back!
Cute local spot. Dim lighting with exceptional service. French onion soup was perfect as were the compound garlic blue cheese butter for the bone in ribeye. Will return.
Finally dined at Runyon’s ! Our meal was delicious from Cocktails to Entrees. The only negative was the high noise level, but that’s just my personal preference. I don’t know why it took us 20+ years to dine here. We are glad we did and will certainly be back!!
Great dinner spot in Coral Springs. The Manhattan was the best I’ve had in Broward and definitely a top 5 steak. It is loud near the piano bar but a fun spot for a weekend dinner.
Went here for lunch on my birthday and Staff was amazing and the food was even better. I was actually shocked on how affordable it was. I was expecting my bill to be way more than what it presented. The marine lobster roll was great but I would love to have some type of sauce on top of it. The roll was fresh and buttery but the lobster was just stuffed in however it was still great. Just borrowed some sauce from the person I was with and put it in the roll. lol the manager I would assume him to be came over personally to apologize about our crab cake not coming out in time and even took care of it. They even have the ability to put your name on the menu!!! Sweet
A great find in Coral Springs… Ate at the bar, had a chopped salad with Salmon and a perfect smoked cocktail. Rico the bar tender is the best! Great welcoming personality… Felt at home from the start.
Runyons is a staple of Coral Springs. They have always been an exceptional establishment in South Florida that has exceeded expectations. Runyons just improved their building with renovations in the summer of 2017. If you have never eaten at Runyons, do yourself a favor and try them. If you have eaten here, come check out the new feel of the place. Owners Kevin and Ryan, along with their staff, did a wonderful job and have raised the bar for South Florida fine dining.
My fiance and I love this place!! Since the pandemic started we had been craving their food and they never disappoint. My ribeye is always cooked to perfection and its tenderness is always satisfying. The mash potatoes are so delicious they almost fight with steak for a spot in your mouth. We are so happy they were able to stay in business!!
A family owned business with class and style! Absolutely the best steak and food in town. Amazing pastas options. I bring my whole family here!
I grew up coming to this restaurant regularly with my family in the 1980s, but hadn’t been back since—until now. Forty years later, all I can say is: what took me so long to return? I had a fantastic dinner here with a group of old high school friends, and everything was spot-on—the food, the service, and the ambiance. I ordered the prime rib, and although a little pricey, it was absolutely delicious and worth it. A generous, perfectly cut portion, cooked just right. The loaded baked potato that came with it was the perfect complement. A big shout-out to our two servers who took excellent care of our large group. They were helpful, patient, and thoroughly professional. I loved the entire experience and definitely won’t be waiting another 40 years to come back :)
Runyan's is a great place to enjoy for a date night and listen to some great music, especially Friday nights with Larry at the keyboard tickling the ivory on the keyboard and singing great tunes from the past.
My girlfriend and I attended a dinner seminar at Runyon's Tuesday evening. The service was outstanding. We were in a private room. We both had the chicken Parm- very tasty and a very large portion. The cheesecake was about the best we ever had. They had live entertainment in the bar area, which is where we ended up after the seminar. The pianist/singer, Larry Brendler sounded great, looked great and played at a volume that allowed you to enjoy the ambiance and still appreciate his talent. Larry has a large repertoire and was able to handle requests from everyone. We will definitely be coming back!
Great atmosphere. The food was OKAY, but what was lacking in food, the ambiance snd service made up for it. I will definitely give the food the benefit of the doubt and try again, maybe a different dish. I am a fan of risotto, so I wish they had more risotto choices. Do you guys only have vegan risotto? Anyways, I’ll try again another time.
Outstanding food service and atmosphere. Been coming here for years. From the happy hour special to there cocktails. One of our favorite places to have a great meal!
Best prime rib I’ve ever had…and I’ve been to a lot of great restaurants! The service is also amazing. The wait staff works well as a team.
Amazing service and amazing food. The wasabi crab dip was so flavorful. Hands down the best filet I’ve ever had! Hubby had the shrimp scampi that was absolutely delicious. Great wine selection and my cocktail was well made. They make all of their desserts in house which is impressive. Service was also stellar. Our server (I believe her name was Cheryl) was attentive and very kind! Live music was great, not too distracting either. It’s nice to go to a restaurant that has live music where you can make the choice to sit near the performance or a more quiet area if preferred. A great place for a date night or special event.
Just ate at Runyon's. I travel a lot and love old school steak places, so I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to this. I also don't usually write reviews, but just wanted to share that I had a great meal and experience, and a large part of that was due to the service provided at the bar by Kiana and Ricco. Thanks to both of you, I hope your employer recognizes that you make a difference! Steve
We recently celebrated our son’s 20th birthday at Runyon’s, and it could not have been more perfect! We hosted a big party and reserved the private room, which was absolutely ideal for our group. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and taken care of. Their attention to detail and warm, friendly service truly stood out — they went above and beyond to make the evening special for our family and guests. The food was outstanding — every dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Our guests were raving about everything from the appetizers to the desserts. You can tell that Runyon’s takes great pride in both their cuisine and their hospitality. One of the highlights of the night was being able to connect to the speakers and play our own music — such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration feel even more personal and fun. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, creating the perfect backdrop for laughter, great food, and memories we’ll cherish. We’re so grateful to the entire Runyon’s team for making our son’s milestone birthday such a memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back for future celebrations!
Cristina was absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, she was extremely kind, attentive, and made the entire experience feel special. She gave us the best recommendations, and every single one of them was a hit — the food was incredible. She constantly checked in to make sure we were okay and had everything we needed, which really made our Valentine’s celebration feel personal and thoughtful. On top of that, she went the extra mile and even got the band to play our favorite song, “By Your Side” by Sade — such a beautiful touch that we’ll never forget. Amazing food, great vibes, and outstanding service. Cristina truly made our night unforgettable. Highly recommend! 💖✨
This was my first time dining at Runyons in coral springs in many, many years probably 20+. This is a restaurant known for being a steakhouse with white tablecloths and pretty upscale place for special occasion. Yesterday, Valentine's day certainly fit that bill.. sooo first off we had a waitress who was clearly training still and possibly had never been a server before. This is unacceptable for a special occasion. She struggled to bring our beverages on a tray. Almost spilling an.esoresso Martini. Drinks were moderately priced and just ok nothing special. Next we had an appetizer called collosal shrimp oregnanata. $26 for two shrimp which is not specified on the menu. These were possibly the best shrimp we have ever eaten. Smokey, tasty, and perfect consistency. They bring bread and butter which is just ok. The French onion soup is one thing they're known for. Here's the issue.... We ordered it and it came out literally 90 seconds later. Barely enough time to heat it through, the cheese got melted and the interior of the soup wasn't really hot it was warm. Why the rush?? Ok next we had a steakhouse chopped salad with blue cheese, bacon bits, and romaine , with a balsamic glaze and a vinaigrette. This was excellent and very fresh tasting. Now the main course we ordered the salmon because my girlfriend is a pescatarian. I started eating the salmon and it was undercooked, almost sushi like. Not what I had anticipated. This makes me lose my appetite. I tell the server it's under and she apologized and asked what we wanted to do. At that point I didn't really care I was done eating. I tell her to cancel it. Then a few minutes later the chef comes out to apologize and ask if we still want to eat it . We agreed to take it home with no charge. In all the experience was subpar. Some.food was excellent, the ambience is nice , however the service and cook on the salmon was unsatisfactory. Won't be returning any time soon and certainly not on a holiday. Disappointing.
2 of us went here for dinner. I was able to make a same day reservation. When we arrived, we were seated right away. The ambience here is very classy. The staff is AWESOME. Our server was very knowledgeable and guided us well. Everything we ordered was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend and shall return.
Wasn't a bad experience but I have been to better fine dining restaurants. Our booth seemed to house the water station so I didn't like that the servers had to periodically pull the water pitchers from behind us. The stuffed lobster was delish but crab stuffing was a bit salty. Everything else was very good. My Amaretto Sour was perfect. Mushrooms/onions were the best I've ever had.
Nice steak house and bar. They have a gentleman playing the piano Fridays and Saturdays. The owner knows an incredible number of celebrities, they all have been in the restaurant and have taken pictures with him. Many pictures of them all over. Food and drinks are good, but pricey. It is an older crow. These people have been coming here for years….RICO at the bar is great !!
I have been to Runyon’s twice. The first time was mind blowing! The second time was enjoyable. The service is flawless. The food is delicious. However, my visit wasn’t perfect. The worst part was the toilet paper in the bathroom. It needs an upgrade, please, the women of your establishment will be grateful. The reason that it lost a star was the lobster roll meal. The french fries lacked seasoning, flavor, and overall seemed plain, and maybe slightly undercooked. Seasoning the French fries, and cooking a little crispier would help. The lobster roll is approximately $38 and it is served without condiments and without much seasoning. It feels plain and lazy. I’ve had better lobster rolls off of a food truck for half the price and that’s just a fact. I’ve cooked lobster rolls with more creative flare and flavor. The lobster itself is fresh and delicious. Adding mayonnaise and/or a side of drawn butter, a lemon wedge to squeeze, and/or more fresh herbs (dill, parsley, chives, etc) would completely elevate and change the flavor profile of the overpriced dish. The escargot was enjoyable. The French onion soup was the best part of the meal and the best bang for your buck. Soup was cheesy for days, served hot, and the flavor was excellent. Thank you for a lovely meal with piano accompaniment.
Runyon’s is a charming spot along Sample Road. I’ve never heard of it before tonight but my favorite thing about it was the service. Service there was impeccable and they made us feel like family. The French onion soup is a must! It’s the perfect combination of cheesy, savory, and bready. We ordered the steak medium because I saw in previous reviews that their steaks were too raw, but I think ordering a medium rare would have been better. The Mac was delicious- the only thing missing was a panko crust. That would have made it chef’s kiss. The Wagyu meatball was yummy, I just wish there would have been several small ones instead of one big one, but it was because it was cheese filled, so no regrets ordering it.
I haven't been to Runyon's in years. I heard they were sold several years ago. I had a business lunch is Coral Springs and someone suggested Runyon's. They have a very nice lunch menu with lots of daily specials. I started with Runyon's Signature French Onion Soup , available in a cup or crock. Very good and flavorful. For a main, I had the Burrata Salad, fresh burrata, seasonal fruit, heirloom tomatoes, prosciutto, baby arugula, and a balsamic glaze . Also very good.
I am a local, I dine in a lot, I love this classic place. Stephanie is kind and knowledgeable. Always delighted to be served by her.
Great piano bar. So disappointed in the food. The shrimp was dry, overcooked and rubbery. For $52 I expected better.
At the beginning they could not find the reservation and looked at us like we had two heads and then they found it. The server was great. I noticed several times that food came out for other tables that went to the wrong location occured three times that a sign of poor management. The meatball was a 5 and the crab was a 6. The bone in ribeye is not worth the price. A little over salted and it was shared. The half with no bone was not medium it was more on the well done side. The mushrooms was a 10. The salmon and cesar looked good but thats not what we ate. Overall its a five rating. Not a place i will I will go back for.Golf was playing on a tv at least play something thats more to the mood. Overall it was ok!! The bone in ribeye was not worth the 125!! Seriously
Sadly disappointed, steakhouse prices but definitely not a steakhouse. The server was the best part of the night. Prime rib was good but not worth the price, chicken parm is pizza shop level. The appearance of the entrees reminded me of a wedding with the same boring sides. Baked potato was terrible. We were way over dressed. People had on sweatpants, hoodies, hats and sneakers. Kids in highchairs crying, definitely ruined our date night.
We had a business meeting in the private room. The service and atmosphere was wonderful. The food lacked flavor and my shrimp was overcooked. The pasta was flavorless and the veggies were hard and undercooked. The bread was good. Very overpriced for food that was not at the same level of quality.
We came for dinner and it was our first experience in this restaurant. The atmosphere and the ambiance of the restaurant is really good. And you expect that your dinner will be on a high level as well. We ordered some starters (garlic bread, and shrimp caparelli, and the taste wasn’t delicious. But then we were served the veal, we shared as the portion is too big. It was a real disappointment, not tasty at all. We would not like to come to this restaurant again. And of course it is unreasonably pricy, for that quality of food. It doesn’t worth it at all.
Runyon’s is the noisiest restaurant on planet earth. Enough said. It’s no longer a high end restaurant. Food should be spectacular given the reputation and price but the food was just good with nothing special. Four of us were given two different menu’s and of course what we ordered was no longer available. Don’t go to Runyons for a relaxing adult experience
*Poor service and very slow service* I eat at A LOT of restaurants and this was just not it! There was nothing special about the place; it took a long time to see a waitress and simply begin with water. Once we FINALLY ordered and FINALLY recieved our food, that waitress never checked on us again. Food wasn't hot and lacked flavor; for reference, we ordered steak, chicken parm, chicken francese, garlic bread, and meatball appetizer. My entire party left most of our food on our plate, and had no interest in bringing it home. I do admit I love live entertainment but we were seated right next to the piano, and the sound was not comfortable at all.
I came for my father's 90th birthday with my family and that was such a big mistake. This place should have 0 stars with the way we were treated. It took 1.5 hours for our dinner to be served cold on cold plates. I had to send my steak back because I asked for medium and I was given rare. When my steak returned the ends were still the way it left with no sign of being put back on the grill so I had to return it again to be cooked more which took 30 minutes before I canceled my order because others finished eating. My father was very disappointed no one at the restaurant even told him happy birthday even after the manager was notified. We will never return!
I came here with my significant other to celebrate his birthday, being that he has been to this restaurant many times, and he raves about it. The hostess sat us at the piano with menus. For 20 plus minutes we did not get any attention from any staff. We decided to leave after seeing waiters interacting with other guests, and we did not get a measly "we'll be right with you" from any staff members. As we were pushing our chair back in, a waiter came over and asked, "Are we ready to eat?" I explained to him that we were sitting here and weren't acknowledged. As I was leaving, the owner spoke with me, and I let him know what occurred, and he was very apologetic about the situation. I expressed to him that it did look a certain way, being that we were the only African American guests in the piano room area that we could see, and we were not even acknowledged until we were leaving. The food smelled good in there, and I was excited to eat. I believe this may have been an isolated incident, but I was not pleased.
True reviews. We came to this place hoping to eat a wonderful food. Thanks God I shared it with my wife. I got a veal, which was soft enough, but covered with cheap cheese!!!Last time I ate same style food on the road in $ cafeteria, even there serve was much better. But in this place they just put some arugula on the top and salty dried tomato on the top of the veal for 45$. Even I could eat 1/4 of the portion, my stomach feels still heavy after 1 hour. Second, as for the interior, the cheapest red sofa. I would not recommend to go to this place. And they didn’t care that we couldn’t finish our meal.
WHAT A TERRIBLE PLACE. I WAS A RUNYON'S CUSTOMER FOR OVER 35 YEARS, UNTIL I MOVED FROM CORAL SPRINGS. IT WAS ALWAYS THE PLACE TO GO FOR AN UPSCALE DINNER. RECENTLY, WE MOVED BACK TO SPRINGS AND WOW ... THIS PLACE HAS CHANGED TERRIBLY. I WENT LAST FRIDAY NIGHT WITH MY WIFE. AS I WAS TALKING TO THE NICE YOUNG HOSTESS AT THE FRONT, ONE OF THE BARTENDERS JUMPED IN FRONT OF MY WIFE AND I AND RUDELY SCREAMED AT THE HOSTESS " I NEED A TABLE FOR 2 RIGHT NOW". MY WIFE AND I JUST LOOKED AT EACH OTHER IN AMAZEMENT. HAD I BEEN BY MYSELF, I WOULD OF KNOCKED HIM OUT IMMEDIATELY. ANYWAYS, WE LAUGHED IT OFF. THEN, AFTER REQUESTING A BOOTH, THEY TOLD US THEY WERE ALL RESERVED, THEY SAT US AT A TABLE IN THE BACK ROOM. OF COURSE, THE 2 BOOTHS WE REQUESTED, WERE STILL EMPTY EVEN AFTER OUR MEAL. ANYWAS, AFTER WAITING AN UNHEARD OF AMOUNT OF TIME FOR OUR MEAL, IT FINALLY ARRIVED. NOT ONCE, DID THE WAITRESS COME BY AND SEE IF WE NEEDED ANYYTHING OR TO CHECK ON OUR ORDER. WHEN I FINALLY CAUGHT HER ATTENTION AND REQUESTED BLACK PEPPER, IT WAS LIKE SHE WAS MAD AT US FOR ASKING HER FOR SOMETHING. SHE DIDN'T EVEN GIVE US THE COURTESY OF STOPPING TO TALK WITH US FOR A MOMENT TO ADDRESS OUR CONCERNS. SHE WAS TOO BUSY TRYING TO ADDRESS THE OTHER TABLES. YOU KNOW WHAT? HIRE MORE STAFF IF YOUR SERVERS ARE OVERWHELMED. WHY MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS UNCOMFORTABLE? NEXT, WE REQUESTED ANOTHER BOTTLE OF WATER AND IT TOOK NEARLY 20 MINUTES TO ARRIVE AT OUR TABLE. BY THAT TIME, WE WERE FINISHED AND DIDN'T NEED IT. WHEN I ASKED WHY SO LONG FOR A SIMPLE BOTTLE OF WATER, SHE BLAMED IT ON THE BARTENDERS. FINALLY, WE ORDERED DESSERT. AFTER WAITING 20 MINUTES AND NEVER ARRIVING, I HAD TO GET UP AND COMPLAIN TO MANAGMENT. THIS WAS ENOUGH. THE WAITRESS JUST KEPT MAKING EXCUSES AND I WAS GETTING NOWHERE. THEN I SPOKE TO A SO CALLED "MANAGER" NAMED JOE OR JOEY. I WENT INTO DETAIL ABOUT THE ENTIRE HORRIBLE SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE. HE JUST LOOKED AT ME AND WALKED AWAY. WHEN I TURNED AROUND IN DISMAY, I NOTICE HE WAS JUST LAUGHING WITH A BIG PARTY IN THE CORNER. WOW! YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME. I'VE HAD BETTER EXPERIENCES AT DENNYS! YEARS AGO MY WIFE AND I USED TO SIT IN THE PIANO BAR FOR HOURS EATING AND DRINKING THE NIGHT AWAY. NOW, I JUST WANT TO BE AS FAR AWAY FROM RUNYONS AS POSSIBLE. I SUGGEST YOU DO THE SAME.
Definitely not a 4.5 star worth restaurant, I'd go with a 3.8 or 3.9. Food was extremely mediocre, I wouldnt even suggest to try it. I was extremely disappointed, heard some good things about them. Noise level is ok, reservations is kind of flexible. Ill leave that restaurant for the 55+ community. It might me enough seasoning for their pallet, Definitely not enough flavor on the steaks nor chicken. I felt like I was eating hospital food. (No offense) Staff was friendly, semi attentative. Try at your own risk, no worth their price.
