This was my second visit to this location and I loved it just as much. The staff is friendly, and since we arrived around 9:30 on a Sunday, there was no wait—though it was starting to fill up by the time we left. There’s a great variety of pancake options along with plenty of savory choices. They were very accommodating of my vegetarian diet and happily replaced the eggs with avocado. My customized rancheros verde was delicious, and the mocha chip pancake was sooo good. I also tried a bite of the lemon curd pancake and it was amazing. My friend ordered the Portuguese linguica and absolutely loved it. Such a cute, family-style spot tucked around the corner—would definitely recommend!
Game day and crowded beyond control. We got in the wait list and were given a time, walked back in and were promptly seated at the time they mentioned they will have our table ready. Food was a bit delayed but the waiter took time to tell us the expected time of food and did bot miss the mark. Warm and welcoming, with amazing food line up that will entice a 11 year old.
The best part of waking up is Mission on your plate. Corny? Maybe. But it’s exactly how I felt after starting my morning at Mission. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the wait was short—even for a weekend breakfast spot. You seat yourself, and within seconds, a friendly staff member was at our table. One woman seemed to be running the whole floor like a pro, with quick help from a man bringing dishes and drinks out. It was impressive to watch. Now, the food—wow!!! It came out fast, hot, and fresh. I had the House-Made Cinnamon French Toast with eggs and bacon. Every bite was perfectly fluffy and flavorful—I honestly didn’t want to stop eating, even when I was full. My co-worker had the Baked Banana Caramel French Toast, which was just as delicious (I stole a bite, of course). The portions are generous, and the prices are almost too good to be true for the quality and quantity. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with killer breakfast, don’t sleep on this place. Just wake up and go.
After looking all over downtown for a breakfast spot, I stumbled upon this hidden gem. The food here was amazing, and a menu with a wide variety of options to really satisfy anyone that you're with. Fair warning though, if you do decide to come here (which you definitely should) you need to bring your appetite! For the price, the portion sizes were huge. That included the specialty coffees. The staff here were all amazing and super attentive to top off the experience. I would recommend this place to anyone!
My husband and I went here on our honeymoon and it turned into one of our favorite breakfast places in San Diego. We recently took a couple family members when we visited and everything was just as amazing as before. Each time we were seated very quickly, service was on point, and the food was beyond fantastic. They also have a gluten free menu and vegan options. Sitting outside on the patio is ideal, but most people are waiting to sit outside so you have a better chance getting a table if you choose to sit inside.
Went to breakfast with a friend who lives right nearby, this morning lace definitely seems like a staple in the neighborhood. We were able to sit down right away at 9:30am on a Sunday. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was truly delicious, I got the banana caramel French toast which was so yummy, it’s dense and totally hot the spot.
Our family loves The Mission. We've come here on several occasions when visiting San Diego. The gluten free options are so nice! Great selection of breakfasts from the sweet to the savory and they are wonderful with kids. I mean...look at these dishes...drool over them...and then plan your visit. You'll be glad you did. Just go early and avoid lines!
Such a staple breakfast joint in San Diego! The Mission is absolutely, positively one of the best breakfasts you can enjoy in SD! Even though not pictured...their French Toast is probably the best you will ever have - homemade bread with the perfect amount of cinnamon! Their burritos are top notch and same with their turkey sandwich (also not pictured 🤷🏻♂️). Really cannot go wrong with any item off the menu you choose to order!

Fantastic service. Great food. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended for this area. Worth the walk from downtown, with less of a line than similar offerings along the way.

The food here was phenomenal - so tasty and so flavourful! The staff was on point and our server was great. The one knock was that i got up to use the restroom and a guy working there said its outside. It was locked and i thought someone was using it. Later i saw another woman got a key. I mean, he could have been like it’s outside and you need a key. Inside was fun and nice vibe. I’m glad we didn’t sit outside. The surrounding area is a little sketchy and there was a homeless man harassing the outside patrons. And like a lot of downtown San Diego, it smelled a lot like human waste.
Was downtown this morning for business and decided to stop BFast. A Google map search showed this place as near the trolley line, so we walked over. I was confused by the menu. It seemed vegan. But they serve steak and eggs. So I doubt it's vegan. But the food is kinda fusions. Which I like. We both got a basic breakfast. She got French Toast and I got sausage and eggs. Linguutac or something. I expect both to be delicious and well presented. More after we eat. Ok, finished eating. The food was excellent. The sausage tasted homemade. The eggs were made right. Her French Toast was nice and she said it was delicious. We bot enjoyed the meal very much. Our server was Guatemalan (I love to know who people are and where they are from. It opens opportunities for cultural expansion) the whe staff seemed from the same area. But they said they were not family. Maybe it was a miscommunication. Our server spoke very good English. The price was very reasonable considering it was East Village and a bit yuppyish. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. I would recommend the place to everyone.
Nice place in downtown-ish San Diego we stopped before heading to the airport. Sunday morning around 11, Service was super friendly, a little slow sometimes but Sundays are crazy. Skipped over us a few times. The food was good, the coffee was very good. Nice cappuccino. We had chilaquiles, tamales and pancakes. All were pretty good, certainly not the best we’ve had of any of the three but all high level and done well. Parking is pretty tough had to find a spot 2-3 blocks away. Which is fine. Overall we would definitely come back.
I've come here on and off over the years and maybe I built it up in my head, but boy were the banana pancakes disappointing. When you cut into them with your fork they rip in half. So you basically…

Out of all the places we’ve tried on our trip, 10+, this was the most mediocre. It was fine, but nothing was great and the prices were much higher than other breakfasts we had that ended up being much better. I got the banana caramel French toast and my husband got the pancakes. The French toast was good but way too sweet after the first couple of bites to enjoy and it was cooked and served in a cast iron skillet so it was very well stuck to the skillet and difficult to eat. I gave up about half way through and called it. The pancakes were good and fluffy, the side of bacon only came with 2 slices which was disappointing for $5 with 2 eggs.
This is a cute and charming little place with decent food. The women working here are incredibly kind, friendly, and provide excellent service. They are a real highlight! However, the service was inconsistent. There was a male waiter who was impolite and unfriendly, which was disappointing. Management should ensure all staff members meet the high standard set by the rest of the te
Never going back, better have low standards to eat there ! My Chicken Apple Frittata was served with moldy/wilted sprouts, yuck !!! To make this experience more abysmal, the waitress brought my latte with a whole puddle around the cup and saucer from bringing it over too fast. She definitely saw it, did not apologize nor bring a napkin; she was satisfied with her performance and left. Also wanted to mention that the Steak and Eggs is not a whole steak, merely a few pieces of meat with scrambled eggs. Same price as a real steak and eggs, though.
