A Hidden Gem for Chocolate Lovers in Turin. A must-visit for anyone who loves high-quality chocolate and a cozy café atmosphere. Located in the heart of Turin, this charming shop offers a fantastic selection of artisanal chocolates and coffee
An absolute gem for chocolate lovers! The selection of chocolates is outstanding, with rich flavors and authentic Italian craftsmanship. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated to making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for high-quality chocolate and a true Italian taste
Chocolate is a serious business in Turin, and here at Ziccat, they know it well. Their various stores offer a wide selection of typical products: the ever-present Gianduiotti (classic, pistachio, sugar-free, and chili pepper flavored), the typical Turinese cri-cri, various types and sizes of bars (dark, milk, white, and hazelnut, plus a range flavored with cinnamon, mint, and ginger, and up to 100% dark), delicious pralines, and zests. Plus, artistic creations, such as bars with the Mole Antonelliana and Christmas trees. I can say that the products I tasted (classic and pistachio Gianduiotti, pralines, and a few bars) are excellently made, and the price is reasonable. At the Corso Svizzera store where I visited, the service was excellent, and the staff was professional and very friendly.
In an area with a daily market, unfortunately, many food and beverage outlets are run under questionable management and offer questionable products. Ziccat is a whole different story. Quality breakfasts, fresh products, and excellent chocolate. What makes the difference is the entire staff, who welcome you with a smile and professionalism. Well done everyone!! Alessandro
You can buy a wide variety of traditional Torino chocolates, from Cremino to Gianduja. The unique flavors, like ginger and peperoncino, are intriguing. They're perfect for gifts or for personal sampling. The staff were friendly and made browsing enjoyable. If you're looking for chocolates to make as gifts, I highly recommend this place.
Ziccat - Corso Svizzera. Excellent atmosphere, extremely courteous staff, truly commendable. Excellent coffee - Chocolate shop very well stocked and good - Cakes (which I haven't tried yet) are beautiful. Prices are a bit high, but justified by the type of establishment. A small drawback: there are no tables inside for a quiet breakfast; you can only be served at the counter. There is, however, an outdoor dining area, but it's too close to the busy road.
Treat yourself to a wonderful little treat like the one in the photo...for only €2.60!!!! Excellent coffee, a spoonful of dark chocolate, and expertly whipped cream. All served with a smile... A rare commodity these days. To leave a wonderful memory, instead of paying at the table, come in to pay the bill...an intense cloud of chocolate and coffee aroma will envelop you, and perhaps you'll be tempted again...by some amazing ice cream ☺
A wonderful discovery! This Christmas, I was given a truly elegant box of Ziccat chocolates, truly exceptional. Each chocolate is different, some simple, some sophisticated, the classic Piedmontese cremino is excellent, and I also discovered some liqueur-based ones. Excellent, high-quality chocolate, and they're also visually stunning. Highly recommended, I'll definitely try one of their stores myself.
Finally, a new shop on Corso Svizzera! CIOCCOLATERIA ZICCAT is also a café offering everything a café offers, with the addition of refined chocolate flavors. Served bitter, milk, white, and filled, in flavorful chocolates and unusual shapes depending on the season. The neighborhood is even more beautiful, congratulations! The orange peels covered in dark chocolate are irresistible! Renovated with a modern touch, very clean, and boast a rich selection of chocolates.
MAESTRO DEL GUSTO 2019/2020 ONE STORY ENDS AND ANOTHER BEGINS In place of a long-standing neighborhood chocolate shop, Ziccat's third store opens in the heart of the Corso Svizzera market. A chocolate shop with a history of craftsmanship, locally sourced, as the owners say, and a wealth of passion. After passing by, I immediately had a pleasant surprise: countless Christmas gift ideas at an affordable price, but also tasteful and imaginative (dark chocolate Christmas trees decorated in various colors and modern shapes). While waiting to explore them at Christmas, I sat down in the coffee corner (also offering a selection of single-origin coffees for tasting), which, upon opening, is offering customers an excellent dark chocolate spoon until the end of December. I opted for the coffee and praline option, enjoying a passion fruit and white chocolate praline. Corso Svizzera is proving to be a street full of valuable discoveries. The only downside is that there are no seats at all, except for those in the photos, thus shaping the concept of the place more toward sales than in-store consumption.
Excellent hot chocolate with whipped cream. It's a shame there's no seating inside.
Beautiful shop, a must-see for all chocolate lovers. I tried their gelato, which was very good, and I bought some Easter eggs. The plainer ones are excellent value; they're good chocolate, but perhaps a little too thin. I also tried the dark chocolate egg with a white chocolate exterior and chopped pistachios; it was really good, but very expensive! The same goes for the piggy egg, at €35! Overall, excellent products, above-average prices.
Nice, clean, and tidy place. They may be chocolatiers, but they're incredibly expensive... €100 per kilo of Cricri seems way too much to me... not to mention the gianduiotti... they cost less at Venchi Unica or Gobino.
Stopped for an afternoon break, never been before, apart from the good and vast selection of chocolate, various pralines and coffee beans to buy and have ground on the spot, there are no tables to perhaps sit and enjoy 15 minutes of relaxation while enjoying some good chocolates in addition to the coffee, only standing at the counter where the stop has to be short to allow other customers to consume, a shame.
I'm so sorry to give it only one star, but this morning's experience was terrible! I'm a regular customer: I buy sugar-free gianduiotti and Easter eggs. Last Friday, a very kind sales assistant, when I asked if it was possible to buy a sugar-free chocolate Christmas tree, immediately contacted the workshop on Via Bardonecchia to confirm. She would let me know via WhatsApp whether or not they could create the tree. Having heard nothing, I went to the shop on Corso Svizzera at 12:00, which was currently empty, and asked the tall, bearded sales assistant if he had heard anything. He replied that he knew nothing and that I should contact Via Bardonecchia. He pointed out that he doesn't call and handed me his business card with the phone numbers. Shocked, I call in front of him and the answering machine tells me the offices are closed... I report it, thinking the guy will brighten up and call the lab himself, having their number... but he tells me he doesn't call, "he doesn't know what to do with it," and continues cleaning the counter... the shop is empty... and he also rudely responds to the other clerk, a young, blond man, who asks him for an explanation! Furious, I leave and go to Via Bardonecchia myself, where they are very kind, resolve the issue and apologize... I certainly won't set foot in the shop on Corso Svizzera again.
Aside from the extremely kind staff, I have no positive reviews. Instead of two croissants, I ordered two pastries to go. They were terrible and "gone," hard as rocks, obviously at least two days old, absolutely inedible. I'm 1.90 m tall and weigh 85 kg, and I had a hard time breaking them in half. It's definitely not what you'd expect from Ziccat, which boasts artisanal quality. P.S. Even though it was 5 p.m., those pastries were like a trash can, at least from the day before.
I've had a bad product, which is understandable, but the customer service is embarrassing. I ordered a cream roll. It was very, very dry, inedible, I'd say not, we even eat the stones, but on a Saturday morning at 10:00, someone wants to savor something good, so they don't have breakfast at home, they go downstairs and choose Ziccat, which boasts its quality. Surprised by the dryness and flavor of the product, I politely point out to the staff that I won't finish it because it's a bit dry. I'm looked at with astonishment, adding that for a Saturday morning at 10:00, it's strange for it to be so dry, especially a cream roll. I'm met with a thunderous "THEY'RE FRESH!!" with an annoyed look. Silence, embarrassment, sadness, no look, or a "can we give you more" or "I don't know," any other gesture someone who works with the public must be expert at. Result: how to make a customer feel like they're making a point of pointing out something you can improve. I finish my coffee, pay for the swirl anyway, and leave. I live two blocks away and always go there, even for chocolate gifts, but I'll never go back. Not because of the swirl—that happens in restaurants—but because of the embarrassment I felt.
