Traditional place to have breakfast. The place is run by kind ladies. I ordered the huevos rancheros and they were good. I would definitely need to come back to try their lunch.
Old school Mexican Restaurant Vibe. Drove by and saw lady that looked like my abuelita as the servers and I knew the place was gonna be good. And it definitely did not disappoint its like nostalgia of old school mexican breakfast with the whole family. Definitely recommend tacos and menudo was good.
Great place to have breakfast. One of the gems of Bishop Art district. I love this family run Mexican place. Everyone is very nice.
So happy we stopped in El Jordan for breakfast/brunch. Ordered bacon omelette, breakfast burrito, and menudo for 2 people - all under $30 total. Big portions (note: the breakfast burrito is more of a snack and priced as such). Great homey atmosphere and friendly service. Feels very home cooked. Ask for spicy red sauce if you can handle some heat. Definitely recommend!
It has the feeling of a small town cafe on the square and the food to match. I ordered two eggs over medium which they came out. Exactly that way, two sausage patties, and two pancakes and all was tasty. The eggs already had salt on them so if you don’t like a lot of salt, you might ask them to hold the salt (I don’t salt my eggs - just pepper) My server was probably in my top five ever of being the most friendly. The prices were incredibly reasonable, and I can highly recommend this place for a good basic breakfast. If I come back, I will definitely try a breakfast burrito.
Authentic Mexican breakfast. Breakfast burritos are a decent size. Breakfast special for my daughter included pancakes very affordable. Chips and salsa provided. Salsa was fresh and not too spicy. We had the Horchata which was amazing. I would return just to order the drink again. Definitely recommend this location for breakfast.
Great spot for quick, tasty, and very affordable Mexican food. Small cafe setup, service was friendly, and food came out quick. The chips and salsa came out first and the chips were still warm. We had the huevos rancheros, migas a la mexicana and horchata. The horchata is delicious and served in a giant cup. Would definitely come back for a weekend breakfast.
Fast, friendly and tasty! It's my favorite breakfast spot! The staff is extremely nice and attentive. The tortillas are always served hot and the food is very consistent!
I arrived at 6:40 AM. Our trusted Google maps info matched the hours on the door Open: 6:30, yet the door was locked. A gentleman looked up from the Kitchen as if to say oops, time got away from me. He quickly made his way to the door and opened with a friendly Ola. He quickly went to the back to pour me a cup of coffee while the other person I'll call "Kitchen Lady" and I looked over the menu. She says if I order the breakfast burritos I'll need 3 or 4 due to their size. Omlette sounded good so I asked if they could make a Spanish Omlette even though it wasn't in the menu. See Senior, anything you want. Spanish Omlette it is -- OR SO I thought. When the to go box arrived kitchen Lady opened the box with a flare and a "see", I was introduced to the prettiest and what I would soon find out -- the best Spinatch Omlette I have ever tasted. Yes, you read right, I said Spinatch, not Spanish --oops. The language barrier however worked to my advantage this time. I'm glad I decided to pass by the Cafe Brazil on my way to the new, best experience with a Spinatch Omlette I've ever had compliments of the Bishop Arts District. Meal complete with potatoes , Refried beans, corn or flour tortillas, and homemade Salsa. Wheel Chair accessible but not automatic. Handicapped parking is hard to find. El Jordan was. Real find for this lover of Mexican food. I hope to return for lunch or dinner one day. Great job. Friendly attitude and cooking skills more than made up for the mild language barrier.
Every single time I come here, the customer service is impeccable, the food is freshly made and delicious, and the staff really make you feel Like family.
Been coming here forever. Parking sucks, best if you go at an off-time. Food is good, wonderful service, good prices. Real homey Mexican eats.
I’ve been coming here for the past 8 years. It has become a staple for me. I come at least once a month. Menudo is really good. Everything is made fresh. If you want a home cook meal, this is the place.
If you’re craving truly authentic, soul-satisfying Mexican food, look no further than this gem. From the moment we walked in, the family spirit showed in every detail; warm greetings, cozy vibes, and that sense of real pride in every dish. The service was excellent: attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and genuinely caring. The coffee is actually outstanding; bold, smooth, just right. And the food… amazing. Every bite tasted pure, honest, and full of heart. This is one of those hidden treasures that reminds you what real food is all about. Highly, highly recommended. I’ll absolutely be back.
I went on a Saturday during brunch hours to meet my bestie so it was busy but we didn't have to wait to long. The waiter came to our table right away and he reminded attentive through our brunch. I ordered the Buffalo Mac and Cheese and it was delicious!! The portion size was right for the price. I will definitely be back.
I’m sure there are good and bad days with any restaurant. Servers with attitude etc…but what we experienced today was really great. Our server (name escapes me, very nice beared Hispanic man) was a total delight, kind and attentive. The food was excellent, we got pancakes which were great, the beignets were tasty, my wife got the chilaquiles which was very well done, and the hash was hearty and spot on….we aren’t in Dallas often but would do breakfast here again in a heart beat.
Amazing little vintage 30s-40s speakeasy type of vibe restaurant! The food was great and they do not skimp out on the size of their pancakes 😆🤣 Loved my salmon, cream cheese and capers bagel and my partner said the pancakes were thick and fluffy! She couldn’t even finish them all they were so filing - she’d only ordered 2! 😗 We went near to their closing time, so it wasn’t as noisy as it would be during the day. The noise level there during slow hours is nice if you want a quieter time and the music isn’t too loud either. Staff were friendly despite it being 30-40 minutes until they closed and I’m sure they were definitely ready to call it a day soon lol. Great place and I’d love to come back and try their neat tea and alcohol selections!!✨
This place was definitely a 10/10 for the overall experience. The ambiance, the customer service and the quality of the food were all great. It’s definitely a place I’d not only come back to but recommend to friends and family. If there’s something I had to critique I would say the pumpkin martini 🍸 drink I had was not my favorite. It’s an acquired taste and if you’re into that flavor then you would enjoy it but alcohol and pumpkin just didn’t taste good to me. The chicken and waffles were good but the hush puppies were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! If you’re not on your way to Oddfellows at the time of ready this review then you’re missing out.
Words can't describe the great quality of food and service. Hands down 5 outta 5. We found this place accidentally and decided to try it out. And was not disappointed. Find was delicious, atmosphere was amazing. Looking forward to our next visit. Coffee and bloody mary were perfect. Highly recommend.
My first time to Bishop Arts, only had an hour for lunch and this was the first place I walked in. Fantastic patio and food, and the weather made it feel like vacation. I want to explore Bishop Arts deeper and Oddfellows was a great start and their patio may be hard to beat. This was $20, included the huge carafe of cold filtered water ... a perfect lunch for 2.
A vibrant eatery with an intimate setting. The wait here is worth it.One of the best restaurants in the Bishop Arts District. This restaurant offers a romantic setting and comes with a diversified crowd to match There is something alluring about its tight knit setup that brings out the warmness of dining. The creole inspired menu here is creative with mouthwatering offerings that satisfies even the hungriest of diners.Service is quick, knowledgeable and waitstaff is always ready to help. A must for a date, family dining or for just pure relaxation. Definitely worth the visit
The food was amazing I recommend the oddfellows Benedict, fried green BLT with the kids waffles. For drinks, we got the pink cola da refresher ( alcohol free). And mango refresher. The service was quick we got our food 2 minutes after ordered. And of course the background was not loud if you are sitting outside. You have music playing in the background.
We sat outside and the atmosphere was amazing. There was a family celebrating a personal event and they all came to brunch. They were laughs and singing, but at a subtle volume. The service was amazing always can out the smile and a great attitude and willing to do anything to help. I got the eggs Benedict, which was the best I’ve ever had in my life. I also enjoyed a couple cups of Oddfellows brew and a French press. My girlfriend got the chicken fried steak, which she’s raved about since we’ve been together having driven to Dallas for years just to eat here. Charming, Clean, Delicious, need I say more….
We were seated immediately and in a very nice manner. Our server was wonderful, as was the gentleman who refilled my cup of hot water. My husband and I shared the white bean hummus. the pesto that came with it made it a delicious, and unforgettable dish. My husband, who is vegan, had the veggie burger and fries. He loved the curry and oats pattie... I had shrimp and grits, without the bacon. My grits was cheesy, creamy and spicy, and the shrimp big and juicy. I ordered beignets to go, and it looked and smelled great! Our server happily took photos of us when asked. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and will definitely be back.

Good food friendly service. They did a good job, the ginger beer was especially good. Treated me well
Great place to sit outside and enjoy a meal. Around the corner from all the shops of the Bishop Arts area. My daughter said the home made Mac and cheese was the best.

Great place for breakfast! I felt like I was back home eating delicious food with the family. Definitely coming back soon ☕️
My daughter and I visted this place for breakfast. We both had pancakes, they were fantastic, and split the vegetarian omelet plate. It was a lot of food and the prices are very reasonable. Really good.
Amazing Mexican breakfast and impressive staff service. We had breakfast there today and it was really nice and refreshing. Would definitely try them out again for brunch.
Food was good. I just have high expectations on mexican food.
The creamy mashed potatoes were definitely mashing! They reminded me of my early childhood when mama used to make them especially after adding a touch of fresh ground pepper. The braised greens were full of flavor, though I’m still unsure what they’re cooked in (wine or broth). They’ve got plenty of bacon fat and yummy bacon slices mixed in, which adds a nice smoky richness. Now, the Wagyu fried steak? What a surprise! The steak was fried to perfection and topped with poblano gravy absolutely delicious and unique. Big shoutout to Bryant for taking great care of me! He was friendly, efficient, and made sure I was good throughout my dining experience. I walked in with about two minutes to spare before happy hour ended, and thanks to Bryant, I got to enjoy a perfectly stiff Moscow Mule. Overall, great food, great service, and cozy vibes just a few small areas that could be improved, but I’d definitely return to Oddfellows again.
The food was good, but service was slow because our waitress had way too many tables. She was running between the patio and inside, so it took a long time for her to come back with our check. Also, I didn’t like that there aren’t separate bathrooms — just two stalls for everyone, which caused a long line.
Our server last night was really sweet although she never told me her name. I personally thought the appetizers (spinach croquettes, devilled eggs, and charcuterie board) were awesome. The main course however, super mid! We had the chicken fried steak and potatoes and green beans which lacked flavor. The shrimp and grits literally tasted like an amateur cook ran in the kitchen really fast and threw something together - again, no flavor. The buffalo Mac and cheese was decent. Then we had bread pudding which honestly tasted and had the texture of undercooked French toast. I was kind of disappointed and this is a place I would go only for the appetizers. EDIT: okay we revisited this location but this time we went for brunch. Their brunch is solid. 5/5!!!! So I adjusted my rating from 3 to 4 stars overall because their breakfast is really, really good!
Make sure you are prepared to wait! Small place with good food! Service was fast and food was really good. That limited seating is only drawback, for brunch on Sunday be prepared to wait at least an hour.moderate prices on food ! The chicken and waffles is enough to feed 2 people! Drinks are reasonably priced!
Oddfellows is located in the Bishop Arts district. It's small but maximizes the space with booths, tables, and bar sitting. The food overall was good. I had the fried green tomatoes that could have used some seasoning and the trout sandwich, which could have been a little meatier but taste good. The service was great. Shout out to Erin🙂
Food was very tasty and there are options for everyone. We went half healthy and half indulgent. Pancake was fluffy and light and syrup tasted home made with a delicious hint of vanilla. Brisket hash is well portioned to leave you full but bot stuffed. Yogurt was fresh and the berries were too. Must try the deviled eggs but beware they are a wee bit spicy but not too bad. If you don't like spice though, you won't like them. The fans outside are a must and the only recommendation I have is to find more comfy seating. The chairs are hard and slippery and while there out elderly dog fell off twice and a kid behind us fell of too. No injuries thankfully but hard to get comfy and settle in.
Unfortunately a disappointment in my hunt for a Dallas brunch spot. \nWe opted for a table outside as it wasn't too chilly outside and inside was pretty noisy (though we ended up outside with a rowdy…

Not a super fan of this place, it was just okay at best. Their flour tortillas were rubbery and I'm not 100% sure on this but I assumed they were NOT homemade or made in house. The chips and salsa where the highlight of our meal as those were very tasty. I tried to order a migas taco but the waitress didn't seem to even know what that was and said that they couldn't make that even though they obviously have All of the ingredients necessary and are a Mexican restaurant that serves Breakfast tacos / Burritos. As I previously mentioned They have chips for the salsa and being a "restaurant" you can't tell me they don't have eggs, onions, tomatoes and cheese which all mixed together makes "migas" anyways moving on from my anger and not being able to get a migas taco the food that we did get was just average and kind of bland for what it was. Don't get me wrong I've had worse and all in all it wasn't a bad experience it was just not memorable or satisfying really. the question is would I recommend this place? And the answer to that would be, I most certainly would not ask you to go out of your way to dine at El Jordan Cafe but I would say if you are in close proximity and craving some Mexican food and just don't want to go any further then yeah sure why not. Why three stars and not four: An Unrememberable an unremarkable experience losses you one star and having a Mexican restaurant that doesn't know what a migas Taco is loses you another. *Poor *Decent *Good *Great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Food. Good Service. Good Cleanliness. Good Consistency. N/A Value. Good

We were excited to try this place but were really disappointed. The chips and salsa were good but you have to pay extra for more chips. I got the sausage omelette and it was so disappointing. No seasoning just eggs with cut up little sausage in it. The potatoes had no seasoning and tasted like they were cooked in old oil. They also barely came around to us. We had to flag them down to order and refill waters.
I went by the Google positive reviews which usually is a safe bet but not this time. Food was very underwhelming. Service could have been better. Ordered the huevos rancheros with potatoes. The papas needed some seasoning. Beans were ok. Prices are decent. Wouldn't go back.
French toast wasn’t fully cooked and i ordered red velvet pancake and regular buttermilk but for 2 buttermilk pancakes. Our waiter was inattentive the majority of the time , after getting us waters he disappeared . I would completely understand if it was really busy but the whole time he was more interested in the other servers rolling silverware. After waiting over 15 minutes to order i had to stare him down just to get him to take our order . Overall it was a ridiculous experience
