Great little restaurant tucked in Highland Park Village. Parking was a little challenging, but they do have valet options. We made our reservation online about 2 days prior, so getting in was no issue for us, but I recommend booking ahead if you can because inside and outside were both pretty small. There’s a limited menu but there’s easily something for everyone. I wasn’t too hungry so got the chicken meatballs and the French fries and they are both so yummy and flavorful. I knew I wanted a white wine to pair but I wasn’t sure which I wanted, the waitress recommended the Pinot Grigio and it was really smooth. Overall, I loved the romantic/dark vibes of the restaurant, the food was really good and the staff were all super helpful. I would note- they do not take Discover cards (which is totally fine, but I just wanted to let yall know ahead of time, just in case)

If you’re looking for a place that never misses, this is it. The food is consistently outstanding. The burger is top tier, the deviled eggs are a must, and every cocktail feels thoughtfully made. You can tell they care about the details, and it shows in the experience from start to finish. It’s ideal for date night, meeting friends, or grabbing a seat at the bar for a solo moment. 10/10. You’ll be planning your return before you even get to the car.

I like the atmosphere and vibe. Wish it was more welcoming to groups larger than 2 but I get the reason for welcoming small parties. Food and drink are always great. Service is on point - special shout out to Leonna who goes above and beyond to deliver an exceptional experience.

Our first visit to honor our daughter who is in heaven and named Honor! The lovely outside seating and food far exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the honor burger and the emerald kale salad. Delicious! What made it even more special was our beautiful waitress even cried with us when we shared our story.

There are restaurants you visit, and then there is The Honor Bar. A place so consistently extraordinary that it becomes a ritual, a comfort zone, a weekly serotonin reset. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants across states and continents. Nothing touches the consistency, warmth, and effortless excellence of this spot. It is in a league of its own. THE FRONT OF HOUSE ROYALTY: SUSAN AND JANESSA Let us begin with Susan and Janessa. These two are the guardians of the gate. The standard-setters. The vibe calibrators. They do not just greet you. They elevate you. Their energy could power Highland Park Village for a week. Every time they see me, it feels like walking into a family reunion without any of the weird cousins. They are warm, welcoming, polished, intuitive, and genuinely excited to see every guest. They make Honor Bar feel like home the second you cross the threshold. CHEF KAYLA. A CULINARY GENERAL. A ROCK STAR HUMAN. Chef Kayla is an icon. A quiet powerhouse. An artist. You can feel her fingerprints on every dish that hits the table. She has mastered the delicate balance of comfort and refinement. She even hand-delivers food herself, which is a leadership style I wish corporate America would adopt immediately. Her passion, her precision, and her dedication set the tone for the entire kitchen. Michelin should go ahead and put Dallas in the group chat because Kayla is coming. THE SERVICE TEAM: A CAST OF STARS There is never just one standout here. Everyone delivers excellence. Vincent is a walking beam of positivity. Warm. Personable. Charismatic. The kind of presence that instantly lifts your mood. Congratulations to him on getting married. Lily was our server last weekend when we brought two very important new Highland Park residents who had just relocated from San Francisco. These are high-caliber people with high expectations. Lily exceeded every one of them. She anticipated needs with psychic accuracy. Our drinks were always full. Our glasses never dipped below half. Her timing, warmth, and skill were flawless. We spent half the night marveling at how exceptional she is at her craft. Quan is hilariously funny in all the right ways. A true comedic force. I have never seen someone light up a table with laughter so effortlessly. Quan’s timing is impeccable on top of having magnetic energy. What an absolute talent. A human serotonin dispenser. Every interaction is a highlight reel moment. THE FOOD. CONSISTENT PERFECTION. This menu is stacked with winners. Here are the essentials. • Emerald Kale Salad with Rotisserie Chicken. Healthy, refreshing, addictive. • Ding’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The gold standard. Crispy and juicy perfection. • French Fries with Spicy Mayo. The fries you write poetry about. • Rotisserie Chicken Plate. Comfort food executed at a ten out of ten level. • Crab Cake Salad. Light, luxurious, and flawless. The must-order extras. • The Guacamole. Creamy and vibrant. Easily one of the best in Dallas. • The Deviled Eggs. I would take these eggs into battle. They convert even the skeptical. Every dish is consistent. Every plate feels intentional. There is a rhythm to this kitchen that you can taste. THE VERDICT The Honor Bar is not just a restaurant. It is a feeling. It is a ritual. It is one of the most consistently excellent experiences in Dallas. The staff is extraordinary. Their energy, professionalism, humor, warmth, and pride in their work set the bar higher than nearly anywhere else. Hillstone leadership should be incredibly proud of this team. Their execution is flawless. Their hospitality is genuine. Their culture is clearly strong and thriving. The magic here is not an accident. It is built. It is nurtured. It is lived out every single night by every single person on this team. If you want food that comforts you, service that delights you, and an atmosphere that restores your entire mood, this place is it. The Honor Bar is the beating heart of Highland Park Village and a Dallas gem that deserves every piece of praise it receives. And yes. I will be back tomorrow.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review for The Honor Bar – Dallas The Honor Bar in Dallas absolutely exceeded every expectation. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality, an intimate atmosphere, and a level of service that feels genuinely personal. The team is attentive, friendly, and incredibly professional — you can tell they truly take pride in creating a memorable dining experience. The food was exceptional. Every dish was prepared with precision and flavor, from the perfectly seasoned entrées to the fresh, high-quality ingredients in every bite. The cocktails were also outstanding — balanced, creative, and beautifully presented. The ambiance is upscale yet comfortable, making it the perfect spot for a date night, business dinner, or a relaxed night out with friends. Everything from the music to the lighting complements the experience. If you’re in Dallas and looking for top-tier service, great food, and a refined atmosphere, The Honor Bar is an absolute must. Highly recommended!

Very delighted in how my time was spent at the honor bar! Wife and I had a great time with Great food and the best service! The drinks were well mixed the food was very well cooked and the selection is vast! This is definitely NOT a dinner spot for larger parties and is not intended to be a family of younger children dine in spot. It definitely caters to date nights and small group nights! 10/10 recommend!

We stopped by on a chilly evening, just looking for a place to enjoy some drinks and snacks, but everything was full and the weather was freezing. That’s when Kayla, our waitress, completely turned our experience around. She went above and beyond to find us a warm, cozy spot, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. Her service was absolutely exceptional — attentive, kind, and genuinely thoughtful. Thank you

We really enjoyed our time at honor bar. There is a great ambience inside and the service was friendly. We started off with the martini and a beer, which were both great but a little bit on the expensive side. We got the prime rib sandwich and burger with fries, which were excellent. I highly recommend both of those dishes. Overall, I would come to honor bar again. Note- there is a complimentary valet for parking.

It’s good but I don’t see myself returning, loved the burrata toast! Wasn’t crazy about the burger which was the most raved about item. The other sandwich wasn’t memorable either.

Dallas Staple. We went around Saturday at noon. Expect around a 45 min wait. My go-to dishes: Emerald Kale & Rotisserie Chicken salad & Ding’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The salad has a seasame/peanut like vinaigrette and mint which is super similar to a Vietnamese dish “goi ga”, love! Crispy chicken sandwich I mean just a classic - nothing special just good eats. Cocktail: Crisp Martini

We've been regulars at Honor Bar since it opened, back when it was an Italian restaurant. Let's put that history aside and focus on what matters now: Honor Bar is a great spot, very similar to R+D Kitchen and Hillstone, with just a few tweaks. They offer a delicious shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, which is a nice addition. However, they keep removing the ribs from the menu, which is frustrating because we love them. The wait times can be quite long, which is another downside. Despite these minor issues, the food is consistently excellent, which keeps us coming back. Overall, a solid four-star experience!

A little disappointed with the flavor of The Honor Burger compared to Pastis in NYC. But it is a very very good burger already, super juicy. The devils egg is super good. The fries are excellent. I wish they make truffle fries. The crispy chicken is very good. Service is excellent. I would try the crab salad next time. All the salads looked super good.

We had heard so many great things about honor bar, honestly mostly about the vibes! And let me tell you the vibes are immaculate. I would say the vibes and a drink are likely all I would go there for. My husband and I ordered the chilled jalapeños, chicken sandwich, and the flat iron steak with fries. The chilled jalapeños were an interesting take on jalapeño poppers, we really liked them! I think the chicken sandwich, although highly recommended, was nothing to write home about. The slaw it is topped with was the best part by far. The chimmicurri (?) sauce that topped the flat iron was lacking in flavor and the fries were dry. Can fries be dry?? I read many reviews that said their experience was the wait staff was rushing them out the door. The opposite was true for us, we felt a bit forgotten. Honestly, there are so many different vibey places in Dallas with way better food.

Lots of hype because it’s a Hillstone little brother in the swanky Hghland Park Village but restaurant does not deliver. Honor Bar location and overall ambiance is pretty cool. Apart from the tuna tartare, everything else was slightly less appealing compared to Hillstone. I would not get the steaks frite. The sauce on the steak is too pesto heavy. Next time we’ll return back to Hillstone.

Edible, but nothing special. We started with the peppers and chicken meatballs (which were lukewarm). Fries were severely overcooked, but chicken sandwich was fine. We didn’t mention it, but the server deducted the appetizers from our bill - apparently “due the wait we had for our table”, despite having a reservation. Don’t think I’ll be back.

Robert

The host and our server were rude and hasty. The server was unknowledgeable about gluten as well. Furthermore this restaurant does not align with the area. I have coeliac disease and asked a few questions to our server about what I could eat. For multiple items she told me they “should be fine”. That’s just not an acceptable answer - I need 100% certainty or I can’t touch it at all. Coeliac is not a joke! She was moving so quick and being so catty with her responses that I really had no idea if the items were fine or not. The items I asked about were the devilled eggs, stuffed jalapeños, ribs, and fries - all of these have sauces that would universally have ingredients that may contain gluten, so anybody would coeliac would have the same questions. Also no gluten-free bread? Get with the times. Now honestly, I blame management and ownership. Why was my server so overwhelmed to the point that she couldn’t answer a simple question? Why did she feel pressured to clear the table when we weren’t finished? Why did the host feel so pressured about the rules that she had to turn away guests (not our group, just saw this happen three times)? These are very easy fixes. Have a comprehensive allergen menu that guests can request so we don’t feel like we’re running around the servers for just figuring out what we can eat without being poisoned. And maybe chill out on the dress code - it makes people uncomfortable to see others get denied when they look fine. Much less likely to let loose and rack up a bill if you feel the need to be on your best behaviour. Let me explain why this is so important. This is Highland Park. I grew up here, moved away about three years ago, and visit only for Christmas now. People who live here and blend in here are not snobs. The most beloved restaurants here are Burger House and Bubba’s - it’s just an affluent area so dummy outsider restaurateurs place “high brow”, “exclusive” restaurants here because they think they fit. They absolutely don’t fit. Highland Park Village is (right now) where people in debt who don’t live here come and flash the reasons they’re in debt maybe once or twice a year. If locals want to be exclusive, they go to the DCC, not some restaurant. Honestly disappointing since I’m well aware of who owns Hillstone Restaurant Group and the fact that he’s not a dummy. People in Highland Park also tend to care deeply about accommodating for disabilities and extending a helping hand to those less fortunate. Saw three dudes get turned away today for wearing shorts and they don’t have an allergen menu so that’s not exactly on par. This restaurant is not for people who actually live here. Anyways, I won’t return if that’s even a question, and this retail space will be turned over by 2030. Seen it time and time again. Relocate to uptown, or realign the vision, to prevent this. Edit - just called to check those ingredients, only writing this review since I’m feeling ill, was told yes they should be gluten free but can’t guarantee with cross contamination. Hahahaha tell me that when I ask in the restaurant for Jesus sake instead of yes for sure they’re fine. Have a nice Christmas, I sure won’t!

So 2 weeks ago I went to this place with my cousin and clearly I wouldn’t go again due to the following reasons: Firstly, the menu is notably limited for vegetarians. The pricing is another concern for the kind of portion they serve. Service was perhaps the most disappointing aspect. Our waitress seemed eager for us to vacate our table, returning multiple times to check if we were ready to leave, even bringing the check without prompting. This behavior highlights the dismissive and unwelcoming staff attitudes The Honor Bar may boast a stylish ambiance, but the limited menu, steep prices, and subpar service make it a less-than-ideal choice, especially for vegetarians.

My girlfriend and I have been here multiple times. We’ve dressed up nice and casual at times. My girlfriend noticed multiple times and has even told me about how the host at the front always looks her up and down and gives such a condescending look. We went in sweats this time and she had the audacity to tell us we could go buy jeans and come back. I’m not going to buy a pair of jeans to eat at a restaurant that I wouldn’t even consider high end. They just lost my business… Very judgmental host. She must be replaced.

Despite charging premium prices, the experience felt rushed from start to finish. Our server began pushing us out within the first 45 minutes of lunch, clearing appetizers while we were still eating and placing to-go boxes on the table after I had only taken a few bites of my chicken sandwich, which was underwhelming at best. The drink menu was also very limited and uninspired. Overall, the service and food did not justify the cost, and I will not be returning.

Overrated place. It’s popular mainly because of its location. The food is average, the service is just okay, and it’s definitely not worth the money you spend. They should also invest in proper paper napkins.

We stopped in after shopping to grab some drinks and appetizers. The server came up to us after we ordered and told us we had to leave if we didn’t order entrees too. We weren’t hungry enough for that much food since it was the middle of the day. Wish we would have been told before we ordered just to avoid the awkwardness and her pointing and talking about us to the other staff members. Other than that looked like a fun place. Wish it would have been a better experience

Really disappointed, we ordered 3 flank steaks with the chimachuri sauce and all 3 turned up cold, with the cold fries. When it was returned and asked for the all of them to be heated, they once again were returned barely luke warm. We ended up having to change dishes completely. Out of 6 cocktails served 3 were served with completely the wrong cocktail. Overall the service was pleasant but the food was sub par. I pleasantly asked to speak to Emily Steele the general manager and was told she was busy. Overall there are better places to dine and take in the Christmas atmosphere. Disappointed.

Went in was greeted by the host and was asked if we were having dinner or just drinks and that the indoor dining seating was for those eating the full menu not just small bites and drinks. She then decided to say we could sit at the bar which was clearly full and then she said we could go sit outside on the patio in the black seats only mind you there’s only four black seats outside that were available and one single fire pit definitely wouldn’t go back.

I met a friend for dinner on the patio last week. Before we were seated, we were told we HAD to order dinner on the patio which was fine. Once seated, we ordered two cocktails and two appetizers. As soon as the food and drink were delivered, our server was hovering asking about our dinner order- we had not even sipped our drinks yet nor looked at the menu. We mentioned we were catching up and planning to take our time and were reminded another time that dinner was a requirement for the table which we planned to order. Our server came back in less than 10 minutes pushing us to put in our dinner order. READ THE ROOM- your customers are going to easily spend 300 on dinner/ drinks/ apps/ and dessert. Do not rush them. We immediately asked for our check and there was zero concern from management. The waitress came by and blamed management for her behavior so no accountability on their part. Also note, the three ladies at the table next to us ordered a burger between the three and had zero harrassment. Ridiculous way to treat customers on a week night who had every intention of ordering dinner- just not on your timeline. There are too many other places to go that offer better service. I will not return.
