I Love Sushi

My husband and I always have a great time coming here! The food is excellent and the service is amazing as well. Kimmie was our server and was polite, kind, and even gave us complimentary miso soup and chocolate cake for dessert. :) I always have a very positive experience here and would highly recommend for anyone else to come here too. After trying a few different places, this is definitely the best sushi in Davis.

Amazing place! From the first time we were very well attended by Wendy and all her staff. The food is very good, the atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant and the price is fair. It is well worth it.

If you’re looking for consistently great sushi in Davis, I Love Sushi is the place. My fam LOVES sushi and they never have it with me because of the limited vegan/vegetarian options. Despite the mixed reviews, decided to give it a whirl because I did see things I can have and wanted to make it a special date for my fam. On several reviews the top complaints referenced terrible service and dry, tasteless food. Both I can dispute based on my experience. Wendy and her team were so attentive, placed our order at 7:11 pm and was dining at 7:20! Nothing at all to complain about. We had the teriyaki chicken meal and an avocado salad, the house tea (green tea/rice blend) and a taste of their delicious coffee cake for dessert. Plenty of parking in the plaza lot. They have an outstanding all you can eat menu that we will try in the near future.

I also liked the hot tea that we ordered! It was a very high quality genmai, and we enjoyed many refills. All in all, it was a great experience, and I will be recommending this place to my friends.

The rolls are great, I like it can tell how fresh everything is. The smoked salmon nigiri is amazing. You get your food super quick. We will definitely be back.

Went on a Thursday night, so it was not busy whatsoever, maybe two other tables while I was there, so if you want to eat without the crowds I suggest going on this day at least it worked for me. All in all it will cost you 37.50 with tax and all for the total cost per person which is not bad considering how much an individual roll costs let alone adding sashimi or tempura shrimp and vegetables to the mix. This price is the one that includes sashimi, there is a cheaper dinner option that doesn't include sashimi which I believe is four dollars cheaper, but I feel that extra four dollars is well worth all the sashimi you can eat. I ended up getting the spider roll mainly because I'm a sucker for soft shell crab. Also, on a side note you can order soft shell crab as an appetizer there. The sashimi is excellent is cold and fresh doesn't have that weird sweat look on it where it's been sitting out and getting warm. I love the saba or mackerel it's my favorite sashimi to get must have ate at least twelve pieces of that, though it's not for everyone it has a very strong and distinct flavor almost vinegarette in the way it makes your mouth water. I really enjoyed the tempura here came out hot and nice and crunchy without feeling over battered and the seaweed salad was also an excellent choice. Definitely recommend for anyone who loves sushi and love AYCE.

For a lunch special, you really can't beat I Love Sushi in Davis. With tax and tip, expect to pay around 20 dollars which I think is worth it. The fish tastes fresh and the rolls have a lot of flavor. The only slight bummer is there's no sashimi option. My favorite rolls are Thunder Valley and Rock and Roll. The salad and dessert bar in the back is nice too.

Sushi was as good as should be expected from a land locked city like Davis. Everything we tried was tasty, but what wowed us was the service. We were there at lunch on a Wednesday. When I came the first time it was well served and the fish cuts were thick and enjoyable. The second time around was a bit lackluster and was not the best tasting. For large groups of people it is not worth coming here. But for small private dinners it is nice and enjoyable.

Fresh fish and services was good. Will return.

Unfortunately, it’s “Takeout Only”, they forgot something in our order, and the avocado in my rolls wasn’t ripe. I’ve never had tough avocado in a sushi roll before. I ordered the Onion Blossom and Spider rolls. Onion Blossom was good despite tough avocado and the spider roll was disappointing.

The menu need to have some type of pricing. Th sushi roll where good I'll give them that. Yhe service was ok.

The service is good and the atmosphere is ok. There's nothing bad about it, but it's nothing special. The quality of the sushi is pretty much what you would expect from an all you can eat sushi place. It's expensive for what you get. I would rather spend the same on higher quality sushi elsewhere and eat less.

The sushi isn't the best quality. At lunch the ayce is ~$25 pp. Large enough menu, handrolls are better than maki or nigiri because otherwise too much rice. Good miso soup was a pleasant surprise.

The fish is not fresh, the edamame we ordered is obviously from the previous day (I can tell the taste was off from the first bite), I was not even sure if the sushi rice was cooked that day. Both my husband and I had stomachache after our dinner there, I had diarrhea. It's very unfortunate as we had high hopes.

My friend and I had the buffet lunch for 2 for $23.50 ea plus added tax and 20% tip. $72 for pretty terrible food - and we don’t eat much. The fried food was oozing grease and the sushi was poorly done. The service was good. She did not chg us $10 for our left over good as required as this was our 1st time - quote. We could not eat it. We won’t be back and don’t advise you go.

The quality of the fish is horrible. Service is really slow. The food is disgusting. They force you to give them a tip. Worst sushi restaurant in the world. I'm never gonna spend my hard earned cash at this place ever again. I suggest people to stay away from this restaurait it not worth your money.

I've been here a few times and I'm not sure why I keep coming back. The food is just okay. And their customer service sucks. If you do an online order please make sure that you write down in Big bolt letters your confirmation number because they will never have your name. I will never return here again.

Disrespectful and rude to people who don’t “Lookthe part” as a dasher trying to get paid the legal way, the way I was treated was extremely discouraging and being stereotyped in such a way as to be accused of trying to steal food is crazy. You all need to do better from the way I was greeted all the way to the way I felt when leaving your establishment. This was extremely unacceptable and I hope that when I return to place of business, your conduct with patrons has improved. Don't spend any of your precious money or time here. Poor treatment and mediocre food. The waitress was extremely abrupt, taking items from the table without speaking a word, which made for an uncomfortable situation. Within the first ten seconds of being seated, we were asked if we were ready to place an order. The waitress was standing directly next to us as we signed the bill, so she saw us leave the tip section blank. She pointed to a box and said, "This is where you leave the tip." We were reluctant to leave a tip given the poor quality of service we had received, but we did so anyway because we felt pressured to do so considering she was just standing right behind us as one of us signed.

I was excited to try this place and decided to take my cousin here for her birthday with my two babies. Let me just say it is not a welcoming, kid friendly place whatsoever. We ordered the AYCE lunch and the service was absolutely terrible and like the previous review states the quality of the sushi was poor. My cousin even felt their negative energy towards us and told me she felt like they wanted us out. They kept staring at us from afar not allowing us to enjoy our meal or our time. Not the experience I was hoping for, especially since I was treating her for her birthday. We didn't even get our full money's worth of the AYCE because they gave us a box and kicked us out for my babies being "too loud". Never coming here again. 10/10 DO NOT recommend.

…came here yesterday 6/26/24 because we’re all hungry & craving for Japanese food. We we’re nicely greeted at the door but the server was very rude! She was limiting our orders from the start ie: rolls etc as she kept saying we’re not going to be able to finish all of it. We came there because it’s a buffet style dining. $29/person +tax +mandatory tips! Server should not be acting like that!!! We actually lost our appetite from the start!!! The food served we’re not good. The only one we liked was Hamachi kama eve though it wasn’t grilled (it was fried-but we liked the fish). Server intentionally leaving the empty plates on our table so it will be crowded & she has another limiting rule to tell us that they cannot put so many on our small table. Just one advice, find another Japanese Sushi Buffet guys. It’s not worth coming to this dining place.

Unfortunately we ordered food tonight for take out and although we have previously enjoyed eating here both from home and in the restaurant, we received our order today with hair in it. We didn’t get a photo of this because we actually bit into the sushi roll and the hair was INSIDE of the roll not on the top. This means the hair was rolled into the sushi and we weren’t able to take a photo of it since we had bit it. It was a long thin brown hair and it really grossed us out, maybe they don’t wear hairnets? We were so put off by it so we will no longer be going here. The people are nice but this was a dealbreaker for us.

I vomited profusely after AYCE. This was 100% food borne illness. I have an iron stomach and eat sushi regularly. I don’t even remember the last time I threw up, it’s been many years. They serve seafood of questionable quality here, be careful you have been warned!
