If Willy Wonka opened a brewery, it might feel a lot like this place—minus the Oompa Loompas but with significantly better food choices. The brews are creative, perfectly crafted, and dangerously easy to “sample” more than once. We sampled 12 different beers and they lined up perfectly to their menu descriptions. Favorites were the Das Chefeweizen, Mango Madness, Honey Blonde, and Midnight Bliss Stout. If you like tarts, I personally loved the Jellyfish Jam Imperial Tart. And the food? Not your average brewery fare. We’re talking the kind of dishes that make you pause mid-bite and declare, “Okay, wow.” Every plate pairs so well with the beer it’s like they were introduced by a matchmaker. The staff seals the deal—Kate was friendly, genuinely welcoming, and impressively knowledgeable without ever being pretentious.
This place has a great selection of beer. The appetizer and food was excellent ! Chichen pot pie one of the best.
We had an amazing time. Atmosphere and location were perfect. “Best chicken pot pie I’ve ever had”- my dad. Drinks and food, including vegetarian options, were very good. The apple pie was delicious. We had a personalized attention from the manager who made sure we had a memorable experience. Parking is challenging (as anywhere in SD). We parked in the public lot and walked a short distance.
Hidden Gem in Del Mar. This is the first time for me, but this seems to be a locals' hot spot. The food, the drinks, the portions, and the service are all 5🌟, but the view and the fire tables take this place over the top. Looking forward to returning soon, it’s the kinda place where the good times flow with ease. Well done, Viewpoint!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Went there for lunch and surprised by the beautiful views with great beer/wine selection. I ordered the penitent IPA and it delivered what it’s famous for. I ordered the backyard burger with fried egg and really enjoyed it! Will visit this place if I am in the area. The only downside is the parking situation here.
Vacationing in CA., my friend and I were here last year 2023. Back in CA. again and this visit we came here for lunch twice. We really love this place to come chill, relax and enjoy the beers and food. The service is always good, very friendly and attentive. Both time, we came for lunch. Plenty of indoor and patio seating, plus dog friendly. First visit, we weren't super hungry so we split a Backyard Burger, the kitchen was nice enough to cut it in half for us. The Second visit, my friend wanted his own Backyard Burger LOL and I ordered the Avocado Chilaquiles, it was so good. We'll be back again in 2025! Atmosphere: lofty relaxing vibe, bright and airy. Food: very good. Service: excellent.
After our stroll through San Dieguito River Park, we stopped by this restaurant for lunch, and it was a delightful experience. The setting is beautiful with views of the nearby wetlands that complement your meal. The food was fantastic; I had the best mushroom burger—juicy and flavorful. The salad and dressing was decent. Our server was very attentive and caring, making our midday meal even more enjoyable with her thoughtful and friendly approach. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping here for a bite amidst nature!
Such a great high energy Brewery in Del Mar right by the horse-track. Beer is phenomenal, food is great (good amount of options) and atmosphere is electric! We even got a rainbow to enjoy during our meal! One thing, this place is popular, parking can be a pain, but there is a pay lot right next door. Pricey, $8 for two hours.
Really good beers, like all of them. The food was so-so. I ordered the chicken and French toast. The chicken was mostly breading. The French toast was awesome though. Great views as expected. The parking situation is rough on a busy day with chaotic valet only and $6 to park. I see why as the parking lot would easily descend into chaos without supervision but maybe it would be better to direct folks than force them to pay for valet? Either way, take an uber and enjoy the great beer!
I mean, it was good. The beer was good, the service was top tier, and the food was for the most part pretty tasty. But I ordered the cubano and it didn’t have any ham (the pulled pork was very nicely done though, that part was honestly 11/10). In other words, eating here is a bit like driving a Lotus Super 7: great experience that leaves you satisfied and happy, even though a thing or two here and there is missing.
I've never been to a brewey where all the parking is valet but maybe its common in California. There is some free parking a few blocks away but its about 6 spots near the park so it fills up fast. Other than that the beers were good and the atmosphere including the view was pretty good. It is open air stretching all the way across the brewery so you can see the view even if you are pretty far inside the brewery. The seating is pretty varried and has space for large groups which is always nice. They have a mug program which I always find as a fun idea. We didnt ask but usually the deal is thay you get a membership and they give you a mug that gives you a discount on all drinks you get. The lockers looked pretty full so im not sure the availability though. The staff was pretty friendly and relatively quick for how full the area was. Overall a nice spot for a drink especially if you are with a group and dont mind paying for parking.
Such a great find!!! Did not even know this was here. We frequent Del Mar dog beach and I looked for a place to eat under Bring Fido and this came up. The server Sophie was wonderful and friendly. The food was good and served quickly. Great views with an outside area if you have your dog. We went at noon when it opened and noticed the place filled up right after we got there. The only down side is parking. The have Valet parking in their small lot that you pay for. I don't think they should charge for parking. There is a lot up the street but it is also a pay lot. We will definitely return.
Food was good, staff was great, beer was amazing. Views are beautiful if you're seated in the right area. Reservation recommended since this place does get crowded. Gave it 4 stars because of the parking situation. It is very limited, and if you don't pay attention to the posted signs, you will end up with a ticket.
We had a reservation, but sadly could not be seated right away. Sat at bar and then moved to a table. Cool vibe. The service was slow to start, but got better. The food was a disappointment. We ordered grilled chicken sandwich 4/5, back yard burger 3/5, truffle fries 4.5/5, sweet potato fries 4.5/5, and fried chicken sandwich 3/5. The beer I had Dubbel Vision Belgian Strong Ale is very good 5/5.
Beer 4/5 : had the Hazy that claimed heavy on the citrus, but didn’t deliver. Also had the double, which was significantly better. Parking 1/5: I got lucky and got there right before the $5 valet started. The lot is shared with an auto shop and all that. Food 3/5 : Steak tasted pre-cooked and had zero seasoning. Fries average and no salt. Some of the other food coming out of the chicken looked okay, but one chef was coughing and gloveless. Then the expeditor also was coughing then grabbing plates… eghhh Atmosphere: 5/5: the place has a nice bar and cool vibes. I’d go back for the view and beers. Overall: 4/5- rounded up because I had a nice server , pretty good beer , and the location is nice with a view.
Delicious food, ambiance, and views. Expect finding dog hair in your food though. We had to stop eating.
We absolutely loved the ambiance and the stunning views—such a beautiful setting to relax in. The staff was friendly and attentive, and while the service was warm, it was a bit on the slower side, with our meals taking longer than expected to arrive. Some of the plates we got were dirty and the food was very expensive overall. They also charged 20% tip automatically for party of 3 adults and 4 kids. We expected a lot more for the price. The food presentation was impressive and thoughtfully plated, but unfortunately, the flavors didn’t quite live up to the visuals. Every dish we tried was noticeably under-seasoned, and the lager didn’t hit the mark for us either. That said, one of the highlights of our visit was being able to enjoy the experience with our dogs by our side. The pet-friendly atmosphere made it all the more special. Despite a few hiccups, we genuinely enjoyed our time and would consider coming back—especially for the views and the vibe.
