The best Philly cheese steak sandwich ever. The nachos appetizer was different but very good. Love this place!
Drinks are yummy and the food was absolutely delicious! Had the fish tacos and beachin nachos and they were amazing. Their Philly Cheesesteak was good too.
Great burger and chicken fried steak. The French fries were truly fresh and homemade style, not the frozen kind. Really good, and the service was great. Thank you.
Jimmy didn't start out as a restaurant guy but he's thrown his heart and soul into this place and made it one of our favorite eateries. The Beachin Nachos are some of the best I've had in my quest to find World's Greatest Nachos.
Great food and super service, great prices too!!
I loooove this place!! I am new to Del Rio and Their food is totally awesome! I have not tried drinks I always gone during lunch breaks but the girls working here are always smiling!!
I LOVE Blue Oasis! Laid back atmosphere and the food is so good. Love the sweet potato fries, Del Rio Cobb salad, and the margaritas!
Food was excellent. Great atmosphere. The wait staff were great.
Great locally owned restaurant and bar. Wonderful outside patio. Food and drinks are top notch. Owner goes all out for his customers....
Good service, good staff, good food. What's not to like?
Awesome food. Service was a little less desirable, but ok. The patio was way too loud to enjoy a dinner conversation, but still fun.
The food was great and the portions were large. The waitress was so nice and got all the orders correct even though there were 16 of us at our table!
Our first stop as we reach Del Rio. Always a good meal. Great service.
Black and blue burger was delicious! Surf and turf out of this world! Perfectly seasoned, grilled to perfection. Staff was amazing! Drinks were hard too. Multiple tv's to watch sports. Definitely going back!
The fish platter was this Friday's special and it was 👏 and the chicken fried steak was enormous. We also had the fried mushrooms and fried avocados which we always go for as appetizers. The food was on point highly recommended and the service was by a Khloe and was very tentive and made sure that the food came out nice and hot On point.
This is definitely been one of my favorite watering holes while in Del Rio. The food & service is excellent! I would highly recommend alligator bites, calamari, and or the mushrooms as an appetizer and to drink, they can make about anything but one of my favorites was the "trash can"!
Nice chill spot. Staff is young but professional and well run. Would have liked the steak a little more crispy but overall a nice chill night. Will come again when I pass through Del Rio. Worth the stop.
Went to celebrate parents anniversary with 25+ family members. Staff were amazing, food and drinks were geat! Our waitress Nikki was super friendly and attentive. Btw highly recommend Golden Margaritas!
Quick stop as we headed home from a west Texas weekend trip. Great bar service. Snacked on their flavorful mean green salsa, chips, guacamole and corona shrimp hit the spot.
Traveling from Helotes, Tx. Stopped for lunch. They have the BEST double meat burger ! I highly recommend this place. Nice atmosphere, Music and Great Service . Come on in and check this place .
First time here, locals and my relatives favorite. She loves the southern fried catfish, I agree! Boys loved the BIG chicken fried steak and burger, I enjoyed the Southwest chicken. Service and atmosphere was so nice. Not loud. I'd come back!
Nice friendly place. Food was good. I especially liked my side of mixed veggies. To my surprise they were delicious and flavorful. Not just steamed and flavorless like other places. While waiting for my order I kept thinking - I should have gotten french fries instead. Sure glad I didn't!
Get the Big Boy!! Melty Cheesy hint of jalapeño ~ Fluffy Bun that should be used on every burger in the States. Tastes like the pride put into it.
Regretfully, we did not eat here because most of the photos showed fried food. We ate at a chain restaurant down the street and then stopped at Blue Oasis for drinks. Bad decision. Blue Oasis had a much better menu than the chain restaurant and the food we saw coming out of the kitchen looked much better than what we had. Drinks were cheaper and service was nice and friendly. Sorry we did not get to try the menu.
It was busy but that's because the food and beer selection was really good at a reasonable price.
This is my kind of place. The food is amazing, the people are super cool, and the vibe feels like home. I will come back here every time I’m in town.
Food here was really good. Got the patty melt and sweet potato fries and was probably the best patty melt I’ve ever had. Friendly service and nice atmosphere.
We absolutely love going to Blue Oasis! The girls that work there are always so welcoming and kind. Their drinks are delicious, especially their fun seasonal ones! Love their shrimp tacos and fried green beans. Such a great spot to eat, drink, and chill!
Great local atmosphere and menu! My favorites are the catfish platter and the Baja Fish Tacos. I am usually not a fan of fried fish, but theirs is delicious! The breading is light and well seasoned. The wait staff is super friendly and helpful!
This place never misses when it comes to food! The waitress, in fact everyone, was so friendly and helpful. They all seem to work well with each other, I really like that. Our food was amazing as always! Super fresh and the portion sizes are great! I felt it was very worth the money. The cocktails were a little small, but did the trick like a big one! They have a huge beer selection, and tons of tvs for sports and things. The atmosphere is more bar than restaurant, but I'm cool with that. As a whole it could use a little remodeling but it doesn't take away from how great the place is! I highly recommend! Also the green salsa was super spicy, if your into that lol
Blue Oasis is a GREAT place. It has a local bar and grill dive feel, but definitely isn’t a dive. They have a Philly cheesesteak/grilled Philly cheesechicken sandwich that is one of the best I’ve had. Everyone is super friendly, staff and patrons. I honestly don’t have a negative thing to say.
First time visit to the "Blue Oasis Bar & Grill and loved it I had an awesome waitress name "Chloe" that was very friendly and had suggested to me the most popular meals which I ended up choosing the Baja fish tacos... Delicious. Ohhh, I forgot to mention that the beer is ice cold too. Great job Chloe and staff!!!!
food was awesome. I've never had grilled catfish and it melted in my mouth. cool atmosphere. However, service was really slow
Really good food and cold beer. It's a little noisy, but aren't all bars
Great local place and the food and the portions are amazing. Staff is friendly and courteous. Highly recommend over Applebee's or Chillies. Hidden gem for sure.
I had a Cobb salad and the missus had the Baja Tacos, all good. Jamie was tending bar and waited our table. She's always friendly.
Grilled cheese brisket sandwich was delicious along with home style fries 🍟. Waitress was a little up tight. Cold beer!!
One of the better food options in Del Rio. The service tends to be a little slow, but it's a good place to hang out with a group of people. The salad bar is not impressive...don't let the offer of a free trip to it sway you on a menu decision.
Always a treat, and Tod's corona chicken is incredible. Drinks and food are reasonably priced. They have Land Shark beer, double bonus. Wait staff was busy, but everyone is short handed lately, it's not the norm from we have experienced in the past.
Easy going place. Lots of TVs on if that is your bag when dining out. Fast friendly service. Nice bar. Tasty Margarita. Very good food. I had the Baja Fish Tacos (catfish). Yum!
Server Melina did a great job attending our table of three, she kept coming asking if we needed anything. Before coming here we noticed several negative reviews but still decided to give blue oasis a try. We were very pleased with the service from Melina since most of the reviews that were negative was about service. We did not order any food this time around only drinks but the food did look good so my wife and I will probably return to give it try.
A popular local hangout. The burgers are pretty good (especially the 'Cheesy Haven Burger')! They have all the standard appetizers and a selection of domestic beers. They can be busy during the dinner rush, so remember to set aside at least an hour, worst case two, for your meal.
Great place good food and waitresses were very good.
Good food after a long trip down the Devils.
The food was good only giving it a 4 star because I believe the menu could be a little better
Good food for a border town restaurant. Rough neighboorhood area is looks like. Go with 👀 after dark. Just say'in.
First time here, place was nice, service friendly. The plates we ordered were average, I've had a lot better in San Antonio for a little lesser price but food was still ok, the beans were a bit bitter not fresh unfortunately, fries, tacos a little dry but ok with the small amt of sauce. Personally I wouldn't come back for the food just drinks and socializing.
Lots of menu items, attentive wait staff and tasty drinks. Only been here one other time but considering my sister (the pickiest eater) dines here almost weekly, I knew this place had to be special. We had the back room for a large family gathering and the ladies who served us were hustling and bustling. The portions were generous and the appetizers tasty af. Pro tip: Have patience, this place gets busy and tip the staff well. Don’t order the Mac n cheese! But do order the fired avocado!
Service was slow food was ok. They got our orders mixed up. The steak was worth it but mashed potatoes were not good
Food is lacking in taste and variety. Drinks are mixes and the restaurant need updating . Staff is friendly and try to help but don't seem to know the food/ drinks sometimes? Could be much better dining and sports bar
Nice place for a bar setting although I did not like the mashed potatoes the cat fish tasted better after putting lime juice on it and coleslaw tasted like cabbage and Mayo and the hush puppies were burnt. My husbands half rack of ribs was like jerky and the French fries were very spicy and mushy easy to eat if you have no teeth.
3 stars are generous. We entered a said we were going to have a beer and order to go. Ordered a appetizer while we waited for our order. Appuzer portion was way to small for the price. Waitress brought our order, 3 meals on a tray, not 2 go. Only 2 sets of silverware????beer glasses empty, told her the order was 2go. She didn't ask if we wanted another drink, just turned and went to the kitchen. I used to like this place!
My husband and I ate here while passing through, the catfish and shrimp was good. The Corona chicken not as good as it could have been. Didn't like the cheese inside it...not worth the price we paid.
Chips were over cooked. The appetizers looked good a little over priced. They have beer on tap. I didn't go in prime bar hours, I went around 5pm but there was a crowd of older people at the bar. It was ok I'd try it again I just stopped in for chips and salsa and a beer so maybe next time.
Had my service been at least okay I would’ve given this restaurant 5 Stars. My food was excellent but my waitress Rebecca was horrible.. My first issue was how she acted as if I was a bother to her when I asked for the correct drink because she brought the wrong one. She shook her head at me as if she was annoyed. She ignored the three of us and catered to her “bigger table” I asked hey did you forget about us. She replied ma’am I have a table of 12 I have to take care of. I stated does that mean we are not important. You haven’t checked on us in a while. She said what do you need so at this point I didn’t want to order what I intended on ordering. She went and told her friends/co worker what I said and they all turned around and looked at me. I asked for management and she stated she was the manager then I asked for the one above her so her friend came over. I said how are you both managers she stated the manager is off that’s her at the bar she’s drinking so she can’t talk to you at the moment (which I felt that comment was very unnecessary and inappropriate) and if you have a concern you can call tomorrow. This is my first and last time here because I would not to be somewhere where the customers are not important if they do not have a big party. Smh just unprofessional and sad.
In the year I've lived in Del Rio, I have somewhat frequented Blue Oasis. You can't put down the burgers, they're great! I give them a three star review on because they're consistently slow to bring your food and the check. If you've got time, check them out.
They have good appetizers but font order their steak not worth the price. Only saw 1 waitress in the building. She was cordial but had to wait for her to come back and get our refills.
The food was good. I had the steak sirlon & tortilla soup. The soup was cold. The service was average. Our waitress kept forgetting things and it took more than an hour for our meals. The appetizers came with the main course. The bartender did not know how to make drinks like a amaretto sour, we sent it back the 2nd one was worst.
We are visiting Del Rio and this was my first time here. We were greeted with Happy Hour specials, which we ordered immediately. The waitress returned a few minutes later to say that Happy Hour ended about five minutes before we arrived. I get it… Time can get away from you but if the establishment gives information, what’s the harm of giving the specials five minutes late to the customer? My husband ordered off the beer menu and was told they no longer offer that beer. He tried several more times, each time no luck. They really need to update the beer menu!!He asked what was on tap and it took two staffers to try to figure out what all was available. Creative menu, the food we tried was good and I hope to try this restaurant again.
Nice local bar/rest and though food was decent waited probably 30 minutes for a basic burger and not once did bartender offer any updates or reason why food took so long .. maybe just an off night and I might try again though would definitely look elsewhere first.
Great drinks, service was incredibly slow. Not ideal for large parties! Recommend calling orders in ahead of time if possible.
The Sour dough buns were sweet and doughy, the mashed potatoes were mostly chunky with the potatoe peals. We were very disapointed. The menu dose not represent what you get.
Was our anniversary and wanted a good steak. Let's just say this place ain't it. Ordered medium and got the most overcokked driest piece of steak ever. Im not one to complain but I couldn't even eat it. Waitress was real helpful, nice and apologetic but dinner was just ruined.
Atmosphere was good , service was good food wasn’t good at all. Asked for some tacos meat was raw in the middle just ate one taco , was disgusted after trying to eat the second one which I tasted a very gory piece of meat , since I’m partially blind I couldn’t really tell with my sight. I didn’t eat the last 2 tacos first one I just picked at. The beans were a bit tasteless then a little bitter to taste like they weren’t good anymore, the rice no good at all looked burnt but also didn’t have any flavor! I don’t recommend this place at all . Don’t waste your $$ . My sister ordered a fajita plate meat tasted tangy , came with beans/rice also tasted same as mine. She barely picked at her meat didn’t eat much of her plate either. At the end they we were still being charged for the full plate even after we complained. Then we asked the server to ask manager if we could get a discount well we only got half off one plate. I ended taking my plate for my dog , since they still charged us for food we absolutely didn’t enjoy.
We go here about once a week, and our experiences have generally been good. This last week, however, we arrived and were seated when we were informed it would be about a 30-45 minute wait on the food. We thought that it would be fine, so we stayed. We ordered chips and salsa during the wait, and when we finished the salsa we asked if we could get a refill comp'd because of the long wait. The waitress looked at us like we were crazy and said, "you knew there was going to be a wait, so no." She easily could have said no and moved on, but it made the whole dinner go downhill. She then stopped refilling our drinks and only came back one more time at about an hour and 15 minutes in when our food came out. It was a terrible experience and honestly made me want to go elsewhere in the future.
Drinks are great.people are nice. food not so much . Got my plate, was cold, rice dry, baja fish tacos didn't have chipotle sauce and I asked for no Pico which it came with and even though i didn't want it, it didn't have any mangos in it and did I mention it was a cold plate. Just no Bueno on the food. Chips are also overcooked. Taste burnt.
Very disappointed. Seated right away.. then was forgotten. Had to ask for service. The 45 minutes for cold, over salted food.. if ur into don't go there. We were told they had to serve the big table first. Ok but at the least expected hot food.
We ordered a combo of sausage & Beef fajita for lunch , And was 90 % sausage , so manger refused to fixed the issue by adding a little more Beef . Manger said it would be extra fee . Maybe they shouldn’t put mix combo if they can’t serve the right dish .
If I could rate this lower I would. Doesn’t matter how good the food is, no one should have to wait over an hour for food on a Thursday night. Good thing we order an appetizer and got to go to the salad bar.
Wish I could give negative stars! Waited over an hour and 15 minutes to get my food and it’s cold!! Our waitress was TERRIBLE. Sent my food back and it still came back cold! Obviously management is lacking at this establishment. Never once saw someone who “looked” like management monitoring what was going on!
Long story short: - I ordered shrimp... all they had was popcorn shrimp... fine I’ll take that - I ordered vegetables as my side... all they had was celery (not a big deal) - My order took 20 mins longer than my husbands, really. He finished his food before my came out. - When mine got to me the popcorn shrimp were still cold or frozen! I left starving. Though I will say my husband enjoyed the food he got. *This was a few months ago, and I have not gone back to give it another chance. Not great service, not that great of food. Sorry but I will spend my money somewhere else.
Who charges $5.99 for green sauce and $3.95 for red sauce with tacos? Outrageous. Food was ok. Definitely better food in town. If you want tacos definitely try Tacon Madre instead, although its BYOB.
Wow. What a disappointment. We ordered hand-breaded calamari to start, then the Philly sandwich, Hawaiian Burger with an upgrade from fries to hand-breaded onion rings, and the hand-breaded mushrooms. The calamari was mushy (not “tender”, but mushy) and served with cold canned crushed tomatoes (if it was a marinara, there was no seasoning at all). The au jus for the Philly sandwich tasted like brown water, no flavor. And the “Swiss cheese” on both the Philly and the burger was nothing more than white American processed cheese. The fries were undercooked, soggy, limp and cold. The “certified angus beef and brisket” burger patty was dry as dirt and had no flavor. The onion rings were fried in old, too-cold grease and came out dark brown but greasy and undercooked. The fried mushrooms were actually pretty good.
Went her for lunch at 12:30 on a Sunday. There were maybe three other parties that were seated when we arrived. One was finishing up. One came in after us. And I assume the third was seated just before us. We waited placed our food order and waited. The table that arrived after us received three different rounds of appetizers in the hour we waited for anything to come out from the kitchen. We decided to give up and leave after the table that was seated before us got their food and was complaining that the food they received was not what they ordered. First impressions are everything. I will not be dining here again.
This was the first time I had been back to the Blue Oasis in 5 or 6 years. This visit reminded me why. The waitress was the worst...she had the order ALL screwed up. When the food finally came, it was cold and flavorless, with partial orders for all seven of us. Half of the group had the privilege of sitting and watching the others eat while wondering when or if their order was going to be served. I have no plans of ever going back and can not give this place any kind of positive recommendation.
Been coming to Blue Oasis for the past two years awesome food but today it was different. For some reason, the waitress went out to my vehicle and told me she would have expected a bigger tip from me First of all I wasn't being served by any waitress after being there 5 min. I don't feel obligated to tip. That's my right, but today I felt as if I did something wrong by not tipping enough. I was given the guilt trip about tipping. This was really uncomfortable for me . Management at bar also gave me the guilt trip about tipping. I won't be going there anymore.
The place is overrated. Service started off good sat outside in the patio area ordered drinks and appetizers. The Southern fried pickles and Texas Nachos and this is why it’s overrated there is nothing special about their food. Waitress at first was coming around every 15 mins asking if we needed another beer then slowly it turned into 20+ mins and eventually she stopped coming. Had to go inside and pay tab at bar. Overrated and bad service.
The steaks from there are terrible , i asked for well done and they gave me VERY rare steak. It was super pink very much raw, as if it was still mooing. No flavor.
I did not enjoy the food. Too much breading on the catfish. The mac and cheese was cold and appeared it came from a box. I was also disappointed with the cocktail I ordered. I did NOT taste a hint of alcohol. It took a while to get the food however the server was attentive and nice. Overall, a waste of my money. 🙁
