Tonight was a blueberry stuffed donut and a chocolate glazed with raspberry sauce. Both were excellent! Looking forward to going again and trying more flavors. Such a cute, unique idea of a place!
These doughnuts will be legit. Mine did not disappoint. Don’t wait too late in the night to pick yours up. They are definitely worth it though. Never have my friends and I enjoyed doughnuts at night so this is different for sure. Different good however.
The concept of this donut shop is very unique. It’s inside a steakhouse but there’s a tiny a tall guy pops out of the window. It was really funny. They flavors of donuts changes every week. I got lucky when I went, the other two flavors were kind of out there. I got the honey butter chicken option. The butter was extremely week so I had to take some off of it. But it was still a good balance of salty and sweet. I’m not sure what they put on top of the donut and there was a tiny flower on it too lol my roommate got the Elvis and she liked it! She said it was a good balance between salty and sweet as well. I would recommend this wacky place!
This is great hidden gem in the back of Queenies by Tim Love. They appear to have 4 flavors a night but it changes as he wants. Our favorites were the cheesecake and the pulled pork donut.
Love the idea of this, I tried all 4 donut options they had and loved 3/4. The savory one was topped with rattlesnake and rabbit gravy and did not fit well on my taste palette but I guess out of the box for sure.
Every week they feature 4 unique donuts. One of which is usually a famous food that has been converted into donut form.
This place makes beautiful fried treasures. I always love the savory donuts, but I have never had anything here that wasn't excellent.

Okay I’m going to preface this and say I was not paid to say this at all-BUT when I tell you the donuts I had changed my my entire outlook on life for the better I mean it. And I get ‘you’re letting a donut change your mindset’ YES I AM- they were that freaking good! My great good friend went for us, because we work across the street in the Austin street for truck park (not naming which one I don’t get paid to advertise hehe) but she had gotten the pulled pork donut and the lemon blueberry donut. Now listen I am not a coleslaw girly, but it was divine, delicious, scrumptious and the pork tasted amazing. Now that lemon blueberry donut had me wishing I had more. Literally clutching my pearls as I enjoyed this donut. I will forever remember these donuts and I cannot recommend them enough. For suresies will be back. Love ya ✨
When I first went to Back Dough I wasn't the biggest fan because I didn't like what they had. Now me and my cousin go there weekly. We both enjoy it. The bread is really good. The feeling is great. We had creme Brule and it was so good. I also had the steak and cheese and that was good as well. The veggies were good, not slimy and old. We look forward to what flavors they have every week.
Back Dough feels like one of the best kept secrets in the DFW area. The concept is pretty simple. They're only open for a few hours weekly on both Friday and Saturday nights, and they operate out the back of a popular Steakhouse. There are only ever two items, maybe three on their menu, $6 each. These menu items most commonly come in the form of a gourmet donut, but tonight showed me they sometimes spice things up (tonight offered an Italian steak and pepper sandwich!) Tonight's donut offering was Tiramisu. Unfortunately I ate the evidence and didn't snag any good photos, but let me just say that Back Dough has the absolute best and freshest gourmet donut offerings in the DFW area. You're not going to find a better donut anywhere, truly. Believe me; I've tried very passionately. They don't serve up absolute banger flavors every week, but if you're fortunate enough to go when they're offering something like their Maple Bacon flavored donut... My god. Restaurant quality bacon with amazing delicious creme filling... You're not going to find anywhere else serving something like that unless they're a fancy dining establishment. It's a truly unique experience. I'll try to snap some photos next time I go. If you're having a drink on the Denton Square on a Friday or Saturday night, do yourself a favor and watch the clock, and when it's about 5 minutes till 10 PM, mosey on over to Back Dough and get yourself a gourmet donut you won't find anywhere else. I'd recommend getting there right when they open so they're not sold out on any flavors. The demand can get crazy at times.
Had been wanting to try this place for awhile and it did not disappoint!! I had a lemony custard donut that was the perfect texture and not overwhelmingly sweet like most donuts are. I also had a margarita ice pop that was really good. The lady at the window was super friendly!
Back dough is absolutely delicious. It's a literal hole in the wall food stop, but the idea of a restaurant specifically for us night hours is awesome if you ask me. they don't open on any night besides Friday and Saturday which doesn't help when I have a doughnut crave, but the wait for it to open is so worth it in my opinion.

Nice little hidden spot only open specific hours and days. Not too much of a wait. Menu is always different. They will not change your life, but always cool to stop by and check out the new flavors after a night in Denton.
I personally would give this 5 stars, but I was with 2 others who didn't nearly as enjoy it as much as me. These donuts are different than most - they are more like buttery croissant style biscuits with glaze, frosting, or filling. They came out warm and excellent. The service was intriguing as you basically walk up to a back door and order out of it. There is no place to sit, so everyone was standing at the street corner just enjoying it. Again, I thought it was an awesome experience, but my wife and cousin both didn't think it was good at all. I think if you are open minded to try a different style doughnut - then you will absolutely love this place... otherwise, just go to a regular shop that exists in every single strip center in DFW!

It is ok if you are like for something different and new I think this place could be better if the customer didn't have wait at the back door like in the the slavery days. I'm tired of people taking the name of their businesses literally. I think the Donuts could have been a little better if they cook them more I had the hamburger donut and it didn't have a taste at all even with the cheese and grill onions now that is bad. So that's why they are getting the three 🌟 instead of the five they lost two for taste and the wait. Even with the wait the food should have had a taste. It will have a line because of the college kids so expect a wait. You will over pay for a Donuts they just serve what is on the menu for the day nothing more are nothing less. They do specialty Donuts that no one else does. That's the only thing they have over the others.
Only open 11pm-1am sets the bar high, $4 per donuts sets it even higher. I came on 2/23/19 and got the Cheesy Salmon Herb donut. I just wasn’t impressed, and didn’t even finish it. Maybe my expectations were wrong, maybe I just wasn’t hungry enough, maybe I just came on the wrong night. The other flavors weren’t too appealing to me either. Bottom line, I wouldn’t recommend this place to one of my friends, but I would give it another chance, as the menu always changes, and surely I wouldn’t be as hard to please if it wasn’t in the 40’s and windy while I waited in line.

$6 for a dry, cold, and old donut. If you're open for only an hour at least give fresh donuts. We were also either given the wrong donut or they put bacon in a Sour Cream donut without displaying there was bacon in it. I would rather go to any other donut shop and get a chocolate or glaze donut for $1-$2 which would be a million times better than the donuts here.
Got the Cuban and the Hot Chicken. The chicken was greasssyyyy. No flavor just grease. And the Cuban has some flavor but again overpowered by the greasy bun. The wait and the cost was not worth the hype. Plus we really wanted a sweet donut!
i would rather eat my cats food than this i’m sorry i’m not even a picky eater but yall 😭😭😭 (i had their old fashioned (which should be smth a donut shop should be good at 💀) and bacon donut)
6/20/25 - tutti fruity and lavender wedding. The tutti fruity was one of the worst things I’ve ever put in my mouth. I don’t know what I even ate. The lavender wedding was decent except that it was drenched in oil like the fryer wasn’t hot enough. I wouldn’t eat these if I was PAID $4-6 a donut, which is what these cost.

After arriving home from waiting in line for 20minutes to get four chocolate samoa themed donuts, we realized that our donuts weren’t filled with chocolate. We had gotten them Saturday night and came back on Sunday for more, they were oozing out with chocolate on Saturday so I expected the same. Upon inspection, most of the donuts were empty and one had a pinch of chocolate. It was our mistake at not checking them after receiving them. What a waste of money and time, we were clearly disappointed and angry after getting great donuts the previous night. The quality went down from one night to the next.
