Sergio and his staff offer a warm, welcoming atmosphere with excellent food and drinks. We had a wonderful time and will be back soon! Thanks for a great night
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in the whole wide world. Perhaps I am biased because Sergio is one of the nicest and most talented people I have ever met, BUT there is no other restaurant that I would rather go to on date nights, friend gatherings and to celebrate my children's special events. We have been customers since 2015 and Sergio has helped us celebrate the Christening and First (1st) Birthday of all of our children. My husband and I go to Piccola for our date nights and we have tried everything on the menu. Nothing ever disappoints. The staff is fantastic, welcoming and patient. They are also knowledgeable and help you with any concern or question - giving you the best suggestions and pairings. Out of all the restaurants in the area this one is consistently wonderful in its cuisine and atmosphere. PLEASE visit if you are in the area because it is a gem in a sea of duds.
Chef Sergio and his staff are warm and welcoming! The food reflects his love of serving authentic dishes. The ingredients were top quality and the taste was flavorful. Every dish at this tasting was perfect and represented the menu perfectly. The artichoke was pure bliss, hand made parpadelle magic, branding delicious and so much more! Chef visited every table which is key! Service was very friendly and attentive. The interior space was beautiful and inviting. It's a must go to, thanks Chef and Westchester Foodies!
I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but after several visits to Piccola, I feel compelled to say how consistently impressed I am with both the food and the service. This time, I tried the special — squid ink risotto with baby octopus — and it exceeded all expectations. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. As always, the staff were warm, attentive, and made the experience even more enjoyable. Piccola continues to be a standout every time I visit.
Piccola Trattoria is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service makes you feel right at home. The cocktails are excellent; creative, refreshing, and beautifully made. If you’re not a cocktail person, be sure to check out the wine list. They have an amazing selection with very reasonable prices. Chef Sergio is truly outstanding. His dishes, especially the whole Branzino and the Cacio e Pepe pasta, are full of flavor and absolutely delicious… I can’t wait to come back❤️❤️❤️…
You have not had fine dining until you eat at this restaurant. It is the sweet spot between Small enough where everyone treats you like Family but super classy. I live locally at Dobbs Ferry and the local community. Call it classy cheers. The first time that I sat down and had a full meal, I was with my son and the owner came out and serve the food and he intentionally makes connections with the patrons every night. No matter what I choose on the menu, it is always spectacular. My favorite drink is a signature drink, which is the Piccola that Pete the bartender created among several other signature drinks that are only three ingredients that won’t leave you with a hangover. The food has complex textures and flavors, and there are always many specials. The seafood and fish here are always especially phenomenal, but you can never go wrong with any of the pastas. I love the personal touches the picture of the owner. Sergio was a little boy inside the wine list and the decorations that all have a personal story. The bar is my favorite place to sit, which is the center stage of the restaurant and is absolutely gorgeous and the atmosphere is beautiful unlike most locations where the bar is so dirty little corner off to the side. Every single staff person is absolutely phenomenal and brings warm and kind and energy that if they are welcome into their own home. Classy but not bucci.
I have been going here for a few years now. Family dinners, friends, meetings, girl’s nights, birthdays, etc... It’s always amazing, and never disappoints. The food is delicious, the ambience is perfect. Every single person that works at Piccola is friendly and helpful. The owner and his wife are delightful people. Sergio, the owner, comes out of the kitchen, often, to mingle and make sure everyone is taken care of. I have had catering from Piccola on several occasions. The owner personally goes over the menu with you. I have had them set it up for me, for parties, several times…and everything was perfect. Everyone raved. So many people asked who did my catering. Most recently, Sergio saved me when I was responsible for the meals on a movie set in NYC. I was in a pinch when my carefully laid plans fell apart, and, last minute, went to Sergio for help. This was for a pick up. The chaffing dishes were beautifully boxed and easy to transport. And even though I had to drive an hour into the city, and then carry everything to a PH suite, where they were filming, and then unpack it…the food was PERFECT. I wish I had photos, but that day was so crazy. I did get a call from the producer, the next day, who said everyone was glowing about the meal from Piccola, saying it was the best food they ever had on a set. So kudos for that. Actually kudos for everything to everyone at Piccola! There’s a separate bar area—I’ve stopped by with friends, for drinks, after an event, etc…it’s a cool spot on its own. Also, the restaurant is beautiful. The decor. You can see everything from outside. If you walk by, any day of the week, you’ll see a restaurant/bar full of happy people!
We really enjoy coming to this restaurant. The food is so delicious and they are always some interesting specials. I never take pics of food but this time I did. We have a crab appetizer special that was absolutely delicious (especially if you like spicy food!) we also had some pasta dishes that were very good. We highly recommend trying this restaurant.
What a beautiful Restaurant, nice seats... and with friendly staff and AMAZING food, cant go wrong. So fresh, vibrant flavors that will have you wanting more... Had the fresh bread, Pappardelle con nocciole and was not disappointed. Loved it... Highly recommended, can't wait to come back.
Premium cute and cozy Italian Restaurant in Dobbs with a sophisticated menu. All of our dinner choices were excellent. I started with the Insalata Fresca which was tasty and exhilarating. For my main, I had the Cacio e Pepe. Boy was this good! It was creamy and fresh, and not overwhelmed with the pepper. We wrapped up the meal with the Crepe with Dulce de Leche. This too was creamy, sweet, and simply yummy. Service was outstanding. Highly recommend for a delicious and high-end Italian meal.
We had a wonderful experience at Piccola Trattoria. We were greeted pleasantly by the hosts and seated promptly. Service was efficient and polite. And the food was delicious. We enjoyed the insalata fresca to start and selected specials for our entrees. The veal chop was prepared similarly to a chicken scarp with sweet and hot peppers, served with homemade potato chips. The pork chop was served in a delicious reduction sauce with green beans and mashed potatoes. We chose not to have dessert, but the menu looked wonderful. Both were fabulous. Sergio, the chef/owner greeted us at the table and was at the door for a warm exit. What a wonderul meal!
Worth the trip to Dobbs Ferry for this lovely dining experience! Lucky for me, I live in the neighborhood and eat here at least once a month. The staff are experts in hospitality, the food is amazing, and the ambiance is that of a rustic modern farmhouse. I love it. It's the perfect spot for date night, gatherings with friends & family, or a solo girl-dinner at the bar. Gus, Pete, and Sergio always make me feel so welcome and cared for while I'm there, and I always leave feeling happy and satisfied. The seasonal menu changes often and takes advantage of local produce, I'll add photos of the delicious cocktails, pasta, and mains I've had over the past couple months. This place is a true gem!
The food here is excellent. Started with the artichokes and burrata, super fresh, super flavorful. Perfect sized dishes to start. We then had the mussels special and eggplant dish. Both fabulous. For mains we had the sea bass and lamb parpadelle, incredible! Braised for 9 hours, it was delectable. The service is wonderful, everyone is so kind. The restaurant is beautiful inside, perfect dining experience. Can’t wait to go back and try new menu items.
Our meal was absolutely splendid. Each dish was authentically Italian with the slightest elevation; a few olives in the Cacio e Pepe, roasted lemon and spicy pepperoncini sauce for the calamari, touches of mint pesto on the prosciutto con melone. We will be returning to try more dishes! Peter was friendly, and the service in general was top notch.
The staff was so friendly, the food was good. That was the biggest pork chop I’ve ever had. The star dish was defiantly the crepe with delce de leche.
Piccola is back in a brand new space that is beautifully decorated and has great ambience. The service was good and the menu familiar. Despite the fact that they had just reopened everything came out quick, hot and as expected. The value here leaves a bit to be desired as even for the area it seems steep.
Was so excited to come here and the atmosphere was very cute! Wine and cocktails were good. The insalata Fresca was very lame - something I could have made at home - with canned hearts of palm. We were 4 people, 3 ordered pasta and 1 ordered pork chops. 2/3 pastas were very undercooked and mushy, not to mention greasy. The pork chop sauce was delicious but the chops themselves were quite undercooked. We mentioned this to one server shortly after we got the food, and to another server at the end of the meal. This second server was rude to us because we did not share it with him sooner, and when we explained to him that we had shared it with someone else, he said that didn’t matter because he held a higher position than the first server. How would we know that? In short, disgusting food and bad service, for expensive prices. Will not be returning.
My friend and I were celebrating exciting news and unfortunately the service was slow and we didn’t receive our apps until almost 40 minutes later… our dinner arrived cold as well…. When it was time to pay the server slammed the payment machine (don’t know the exact name), and I was left to figure out how to enter tip… when I got to the point of entering tip, a specific # was not registering so the payment went through without tip .. when I asked to leave tip and told the server the situation he caught an attitude. I’m a resident here and I love to explore restaurants… I’m never coming here ever again.
I don't know what happened when you were a smaller restaurant the food was much better and greater selection on menu choices. Ordered Shrimp w/ Broccoli rabe. 5 med to large sized Shrimps w Broccoli rabe & it was under cooked chewy the sauce tasted like chicken bone broth and the salad was mostly arugula other ingredients were slim pickings & one glass of wine total $80 omg ...Too expensive and smaller portions. Too much salt, no flavor, Not returning. I'm disappointed.
