I needed my deli fix when I was visiting LA. Found this place and satiated my craving with a pastrami on rye, and a bacon cheese melt chaser. Couldn’t help myself. This place doubles up as a sports bar with lots of beers on offer. Nice and cosy. Food was great… these guys know what they are doing with bread and meats yum!! Drop by and check them out
A hole-in-the-wall location in a strip mall. Great curated beer selection, friendly staff, and prices aren't bad. Didn't eat here so can't speak to what you get for your $
The staff here is always welcoming, and I love how they take the time to explain the specials. Today, I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and it was nothing short of perfection—the beef was juicy, and the cheese melted beautifully. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a rustic vibe and lots of natural light. It’s the perfect place for a sandwich craving!
I walked into a crowded but homaged place full of chatter and smiles. The smell of delicious food hugged my nose and made my stomach rumble at the thought of a bite. As quickly as I ordered it; A fresh Tuna Melt made its way to my table. I ate the whole thing fries🍟 include. Scrumptious lunch. Wholesome staff. I left satisfied but not over stuffed. I highly recommend this place anytime of the food course.
Took my bf here for Father's day it was our first time and he loved it we will deff be back he got the corned beef on rye and it was so delicious I'm not even a corned beef person but I'd order that for me in a heart beat pastrami was also good we also got the chili cheese fries sharable size they where fresh crispy and delicious now for drink options let's talk beer because let's be honest you know your here for the beer so many choices I think over 100 on draft 😋 so delicious and cold also Many non alcoholic options for the non alcohol drinkers
Stopped by for lunch today with some family and friends. We all tried a few flights. I got option one which was perfectly paired with my Uncle Henry’s Mix. All the staff were great and I felt so welcomed that it seemed as if I were a favorite regular stopping by. There are not only many sandwiches to try but also an impressively large selection of beer on tap. I’ve passed by this hidden gem so many times and never bothered to stop by but I’m so happy we decided to give this place a shot. It’s a small spot so it may fill up quickly but I actually think the small spot gives it a personal touch that you can’t get anywhere else.
The vibes are amazing, the beer selection. If you're into stouts, you are going to be a happy camper. The sandwiches were good, I ordered the Reuben, which was good, and my partner got the beef dip with au jus.
Great Sandwiches! Huge selection of Beers! Will return with questions of what to try next all looks good. I had a Sicilian it was Bomb !! The Mrs had a huge TBA. Glass of Apple Cider and enjoyed the atmosphere.
DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!! If you like deli style sandwiches and LOVE CRAFT BEER!! This place right here will put any big chain multitap beer/sandwiches place to shame. Uncle Henrys has been here since 1959 but has had a major boost due to a crazy nephew putting in 99 CRAFT BEER TAPS.!! GREAT FOOD, OUTSTANDING BEER SELECTIONS and Amazing service and atmosphere! DO NOT MISS THIS GEM!!
This is an unbeatable sandwich shop. The only thing rivaling the sandwich offerings are the draft bear offerings. There must be 50 or 60 different beers on tap! I had the Big B sandwich and it was packed with pastrami and bacon. The swiss was melted to perfection and just enough mustard to make it zip. Love the pickles too! The rueben was just as good and packed with meat. I dont think you can go wrong ordering any sandwich on the menu, they all look dynamite. And the service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend!
I was really craving a good sandwich and I was in the Downey area. I saw this place and decided to try it since it had good reviews. I got the Oink and Gobble which was turkey and bacon on sourdough, good sandwich! I was impressed with their on tap and take home beer selection!!! A lot of micro breweries! I love it! A tiny place with a lot of TVs. Great lunch!

Classic old school deli, delicious sandwiches ... but the beer offerings put it in a class of it's own. Exceptional often hard to find beers in cans, bottles and ... on tap! This is a hole-in-the-wall gem!
Last bar I visited before the lockdown. March 14th was a good night at Uncle Henry's. Good times, they are fully stocked in draft beer, delicious sandwiches. We're six months into the pandemic and I don't foresee going to other bars. Thankfully Henry's has to-go options and they have good stouts. Until next time.
Love this place. Always a variety of craft beer. Jukebox,good sandwiches hot and cold. Kool place to hang out and have a good beer and a sandwich.
A little hidden spot that's been here in downey for over 30 years, Uncle Henry's is a local gem. With its origin as a butchery, turned deli, turned full service sandwich and craft beer shop, Uncle Henry's Deli uses the highest quality meats and they don't hold back on the portions. To help wash down your sandwich, be ready for a full wall of craft beers: ales, ciders, lagers, belgiums and IPA's. The owner George makes every experience a great one. Highly recommended stop, you won't be disappointed!
I got the Beef Dip with pastrami and it was Murder. Murder on the taste buds son! So solid. If you're a craft beer drinker there is no other place as dedicated to bringing you what you need. Kudos Uncle Henry...which by the way I actually have an Uncle Henry.
Best beer spot in Downey! Nothing beats some fresh deli meats and a wall full of delicious beer options. Come in on a 'steal the pint night' and you get to keep the glass! Staff is great and can always help you find the beer you are craving, be it a fruity sour or a hoppy IPA. Can't go wrong with Henrys!
Killer beer tap list and bottles to go plus great sandwiches. Not many tables though.
A hole in the wall that can quickly get over looked, so its a lot of different moving parts, but not what I would call excellent at anything, but does a lot of things decent that people might find appealing, so as far as food goes - it's decent, not the best, hot dogs, dirt dog is better, Reuben sandwich, langer is better. It has TV with sports going on, it has several different type of beers, but my understanding, u can't drink it there. So it's a strange to sell alcohol but only to go. So it's an ok place with - with ok food, with an above decent prices.. so ultimately, it's fair, not great
