Great place for breakfast. Great service and atmosphere.
Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday and the place was busy! Good service. Great breakfast food! The cook even cut up pancakes and added extra whipped cream for the kids. My husband hurt himself eating the big boy burrito and I thoroughly enjoyed my omelet with hashbrowns. Kid friendly. Casual diner breakfast experience. We left happy and full.
This is your traditional local cafe. I love it here. The service really can’t get any better. They are always quick and friendly to serve. Asking if they can help you or do anything everyone they walk by. I’m a pretty traditional guy and I mostly come here for breakfast. It’s always great. Great portions cooked to the way you ask for it. Get the traditional breakfast and a side of biscuits and gravy. Always excellent. My wife is always happy. I’ll eat here as long as I am in dripping springs.
Stopped in for lunch on Friday at 1:20. Was greeted and seated promptly. Ordered the special, Fried Shrimp with green beans. Super fresh and delicious. Large succulent whole Shrimp and green beans the way mama used to make it. My go to place for Shrimp and catfish. Keep up the good work!
What a gem of a diner! The food & service was OUTSTANDING! My husband took me after a long day of errands. I was expecting just your normal diner options & food quality; however, Oak Creek Cafe far exceeded all of my expectations. The food was served fast, HOT, and generous quantities that resulted in leftovers for later that evening. Highly recommend this diner and look forward to a return visit!
What a cute little gem! We’ve come to Drip many weekends for baseball tourneys in the past 3-4 years, but had not been here. Can promise we will be back! Great service, which these days is hard to find. Food was tasty, coffee was on point, and even though they were busy- staff was friendly and personable.
Great little Cafe! The service was prompt and friendly. The menu is one page and refined so the kitchen makes quality food QUICKLY! There's little caricatures all over the walls from a local patron and it really gives a lot of character to the place! Can't miss, really. I had the hill country omelet with their buttery biscuits and couldn't have been more satisfied.
Best sit down tv dinner in dripp. That was my review 5 years ago! We ate here the other day and it was great for the all around Cafe. Fried pork chops are awesome. Catfish was good and the hamburger steak. Green beans are awesome too, and I dont like green beans. Definitely will be stopping by more often now.
We always have breakfast at Oak Creek Cafe on my way out of town going back home. We love the atmosphere with cool vintage posters of country music stars, the service is awesome and the food is always delicious! Highly recommend this establishment!
Loved it, loved it, loved it. Homemade ranch dressing on the salad, perfect gravy on the hamburger steak, amazing service, extremely friendly atmosphere, and very reasonable prices. It's just an awesome spot, and I can't wait to stop by again. Highly recommended, and I'm not one to give such high praise easily.
Pretty slow night on a Wednesday, we almost had the place to ourselves. Great service & super friendly staff with very yummy, down home food. My toddler and I loved our meal: grilled chicken sandwich, mashed potatoes with cream gravy and perfectly cooked broccoli… we were even treated to complimentary banana pudding (thanks to my toddler who made friends with the waitress;) We will be back!
In Dripping Springs for a wedding and was looking for a good place for breakfast. We sat and were given coffee and water right away. The atmosphere was warm and eclectic. My husband ordered French toast with pecans and bananas, which he raves over. I got a veggie omelette. It was probably the best omelette I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We will probably go back tomorrow!
Delicious! I had the shrimp po boy and my husband had the catfish. Both were so good! The shrimp were huge! Nice size portions all around. The peach cobbler was the perfect ending. Service was great too! Conveniently located on Hwy 290.
My family and I are here most Sundays for the great food, friendly and personable service, and warm atmosphere! I highly recommend the stellar Chicken Fried Chicken or Hamburger Steak while my young daughter really enjoys the fried catfish. Oak Creek is a refreshing change from the typical monotonous chains and franchises.
Such a nice place to meet for a meal! Food is super. We tried several different yummy burgers , the catfish was excellent and the peach cobbler was a great! Their wait staff was definitely the best. It's a family place owned by the nicest family. Highly recommend trying it out. We'll be going back, for sure!
Oak Creek is a cute little cafe with giant portions! The food was fresh and delicious! Sierra took care of us; and made sure we had everything we needed. Looking forward to enjoying this little gem again!
The menu has a good variety of hot and cold dishes. The fried chicken sandwich was very hot and juicy. The French fries were crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked. Hamburger was fantastic as well. The server was very friendly and took our order quickly. The decor is mostly caricatures by a local artist of celebrities, local and regional, but also includes vintage concert posters.
Staff was friendly and hospitable. Food was wonderful. Don't miss all the great drinks and desserts on the big chalk board . Wife loves the catfish basket and I had the chicken fried chicken. All great. Got a coconut cream pie and a peach cobbler to go. 👍
Homestyle cooking ,staff is very friend and treat you like family when you go in. Food is fantastic there just like as if I was cooking it at home. They have a fantastic chocolate pie and all the other desserts are equally as delicious. I highly recommend this place. It’s a little one, but they fit a lot of people in if you don’t want to eat and you can always order it to go. I recommend Oak creek cafeteria in Dripping Springs Texas on 290 W..
Make sure you always ask what the soup of the day is because these people know how to cook a great soup. Love their breakfast as well
Stopped while passing through on our way back home to Marble Falls area. I got the fried catfish.. extra crispy. Delicious!! Hush puppies were cooked perfectly food was nice and hot and fresh. My fiancé got the chicken froend steak.. good thick cut great breading!! The coleslaw was great as well! Everyone was super friendly. I can’t remember our waitresses name but she had glasses, with a Santa bat headband. Really sweet women. The young lady who brought us our drinks was really sweet and explained all the pictures on the wall! Cute little cafe!
Nice little cafe in Dripping Springs Just Like Home Cooking but don't ask for the chili cheeseburger it has beans
Hit the spot for our morning! Every breakfast item we had was great! Service was on top of it as well.
Great service for a large group of 10. Food delicious and large varied menu. Huge servings- tastes like down-home cooking. Clean, friendly, family atmosphere. Will go again and highly recommend
There was about a 30 minute wait but it was worth it! The breakfast menu was extensive and all 6 in my party had something different to eat and each one of us enjoyed the food. Definitely a place ti take the family and enjoy realy good food with great service and a clean restaurant.
Great small town cafe feel and the food was great!
Very quaint place with a comfortable atmosphere. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Very family friendly.
The food is consistently good. Cadence is the best waitress. She is attentive, polite and is a very good waitress. Kudos to whoever raised her!
Very nice place. I love the art work on the walls it's something cool to look at. The food was absolutely amazing. I started with an order of Southwest Fries (Fries topped with chorizo, cheese and jalapeños with a cup of ranch) needless to say that was so good. Then I had the lunch special Chimichanga (Ground beef, white rice, beans, cheese, avocado, tomato, lettuce, topped with cheese, sauce and a small cup of salsa. It was a very good size and was perfectly assembled it didn't fall apart or make a mess it was perfect 👌 It was definitely worth the stop it was my 1st time there and I will definitely be back when I'm in the area. I'd even drive there not being in the area it was that good. 😀sorry for bad pics my lense is broken 😅
I stopped for lunch on a Saturday and was seated immediately. I ordered the burger with a side of fries. The burger was tasty and well seasoned and the fries were perfectly salted and piping hot. The service was kind and prompt. The owner came through and stopped at several tables being friendly and making sure everything was as it should be. Good visit, I highly recommend.
You see the wall of shame illustrations right away and become curious about the history of this place and its connections to the 80's just by walking inside. One kid even had 2 illustrations of him... What is the story there? Anyway, great food. Loved the burger and fries and the ice tea cup is massive! I ate everything and I almost never do in one sitting. I don't remember being hungry but boy it was a good burger. Sorry fries are half gone by the time I took the photo.
I cannot say enough about this place. We tried it for the first time today. The food was amazing and the service was great!! Everything was homemade. I got the shrimp poboy. Soooo good. Huge shrimp, excellent roll. We will definitely be going back. The portions were big and the prices were very reasonable.
This place was great! The food comes in what I call "Kelly's" sized portions (Kelly's Country Cooking). The service was really welcoming as well. Everything is made to order. The fruit bowl was physically pleasing just as much as it was delicious. I was visiting from Houston trying to find a good spot to have breakfast. And I gotta say I'll for sure be back, and will bring the whole family! Highly recommend trying it!
We enjoyed our meal and great service. My wife had the chicken fried chicken and she really enjoyed it. My catfish and shrimp was very good. You will not be disappointed.
We've been here several times and every single time, they're prompt, kind and the food is delicious. All homemade food, never frozen and flash fried. The ham sandwich and onion rings are so good! There's a big selection of sides and lots of items on the menu that you can't find elsewhere, good comfort food. We will be back!
This is a great place to eat the chef is great and the burgers are the best and the pecan pie casserole of man it's all good fries onion rings pepper poppers good job with everything
Oak Creek Cafe is a great local spot known for its welcoming atmosphere and consistently delicious food. The cafe has a cozy, home-style feel that makes it perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a relaxed meal with family and friends. The menu features classic comfort food made with fresh ingredients and generous portions. Everything is well-prepared and full of flavor, and the coffee is always hot and satisfying. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The cafe is clean, comfortable, and inviting.
Great place to get a solid meal. Good selection of food, generous portions, affordable and delicious. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back next visit to Dripping Springs.
Great local breakfast spot! I had the country omelette - hearty, flavorful, and cooked just right. My partner ordered the two-egg breakfast, simple and classic, and it hit the spot. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and solid comfort food.
Food was amazing, service is great! Came from out of town and server made us feel like we were right at home. Loved looking at all the photos, will visit again when in the area.
We stopped here on the way back home to Austin from a weekend in Fredericksburg. I had the veggie omelette and so did Megan. It was really good and the biscuit was great. Looks like a place where locals like to go, which is always a good sign. I recommend this place for breakfast for sure.
Great little country restaurant! Had fried shrimp 🍤 fried okra and green beans 🫘. Excellent! Crispiest okra ever! Loved it. Wife had chicken tenders and loved it as well.
In Dripping Springs, Texas....Just West of Weird, close to Austin, Tx!! Homestyle cooking, very friendly staff and management!! The place is clean, the food is great and the folks are fine!! My only complaint....I couldn't eat it all!! We will be back!! Next time, maybe better weather and try the patio!! God bless your small business!! Everyone eat and shop local!!💝 It was a beautiful drive through the Texas Hill Country to get there!!
This place was so awesome! I really enjoyed this place. We were coming back from the Hamilton Pools, and this just hit the spot! I want really sure about the quality of food but the food here is absolutely delicious! I was quite surprised! I had the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, okra and onion rings! Needless to say, everything was quite delicious! I savored every bite! Even the tea and coffee was great! Our server, Jenna was so sweet and very friendly- she made the experience so much better! I like the decorations, especially the posters of Willie Nelson and other musicians - very sweet! The outside entrance is so sweet with the horse bench! Thank you and I'll definitely be coming back! I'm so glad I home-cooked meals- finally!
Atmosphere was great home like feel. Food was good and appropriately priced. Service was wonderful. I'll be back when I'm in the area again... I stopped because they had fried okra on the menu and I had a hankering... not at all disappointed.
The overall experience was okay! I am giving 4 stars just because pretty much everything we asked for they were out of it. To be fair , we got late to the caffe for a Sunday brunch!! The girls at the entrance they operate as a host, servers, cashiers and buzzers, I can imagine how hard is to do that. The place was packed they were not serving outside not sure why because it was a beautiful day, inside was too crowded and the grease smell from the kitchen was all over, which it is okay if you are going after brunch for a shower. The food was as expected and I hope to return tothe caffeine in some point and sit outside , have a mimosa and write a new review. Thanks guys for your service!
You won't get your best burger here, but from the staff to the old guys talking to each other from separate tables, you will love the small town vibe.
Great food, nice staff, but the restrooms were a little dirty.
A Great Place For A Road Lunch We came in after a morning hike at nearby Pedernales Falls State Park. This is a great spot for classic, comforting diner food. Staff are attentive and nice. Keep in mind that this is a small establishment, so it may take a little time for larger groups to be served. Food is burger/fry/sandwich/BBQ-inclined, great taste with no surprises.
This cute place we found for brunch recently. The chicken fried chicken I had was absolutely delicious, and my partner tried the chicken fried steak which was also great. Our server was wonderful, and the restaurant has a cool old-school vibe with classic restaurant. The environment was very clean, but the only downside was the lack of music in the dining area. We could hear the kitchen music which was a vide. Overall, I'd give it a four-star rating. Just thought you might want to check it out sometime!
I really recommend their frito pie. I know, I know, what can you possibly do to make frito pie more than what it is? Well I'd tell you, but I just don't want to ruin things for you. Just trust me that you've never had frito pie like this and you should stop by and give it a try. I can't honestly recommend the cobbler. Open Faced Roast Beef gets a strong recommendation from me. They certainly don't skip on the beef and brown gravy is stout without drowning other flavors.
One of the few places we found open for breakfast. A decent meal. They did have fresh fruit (banana and berries)! Biscuits and gravy were delicious although I have never seen it where gravy is poured over diced link sausage instead of ground sausage cooked in the gravy, that was odd to us. Lots of the food looked like something you could easily make at home though, not cooked by a trained chef. Dad ordered a side of bacon and they diced and put it in his eggs instead. Not what he was hoping for but it still tasted fine. Orange or apple juice were only breakfast juice options. Service was good. Everyone left full and happy.
Okay so I decided to try this cafe twice before giving my review. I had the Shrimp Po Boy both times and have some things to share. The batter on the shrimp is great but the bread they use is a bit dry and it was a bit dry both time. Also both times we noticed that they do not remove the shrimp tails and idk it they know this but those tails or any part of the shell is meant to be consumed. There is an enzyme in the shells that can actually cause stomach pain and disconnect if eaten. They also put shredded lettuce which would be fine if it was on a sub roll but on a hoagie bun it really should be a solid leaf to avoid falling out of the sandwich and getting everywhere. This sandwich was good but it could be great with these changes being made. I really wanted to love it but overall I feel like I wasted my money both times. With the price we ate our meal but I am not sure If I will come back and if I do, I doubt I will ever be ordering this sandwich again which is honestly really disappointing. Not really excellent service and the place was not that busy. Overall I wanted to love this place and it has alot of potential but paying $40 for lunch to have meh service and food that could be great but some of it you literally had to spit out…the experience was underwhelming.
The wait staff is awesome, friendly, patient and attentive. Had lunch day before yesterday, the BLT was very good, the fries were a little overcooked but not bad, the chicken fried steak was outstanding! It was the lunch special and looked great, and tasted as good as it looked. This is a great lunch spot!
Cute place and our waitress was very nice. However, the restaurant was only about half full but our food took forever. We ordered the chopped BBQ sandwich with tator tots and fried okra because they were out of French fries. Our food was lukewarm at best. Considering it took so long to get our food, we expected it to be hot. The sandwiches were really good, though.
Looks like a great local spot. Breakfast was good with all the basics. I really wanted to try some good southern biscuits and gravy but they were out of biscuits. So sad. We had the pork chops, the chicken fried steak and eggs.It was all good at our waitress was great. I didn't catch her name unfortunately but if the owners know which lady was wearing a sparkly t shirt ( on Oct 30th) she needs props for being so hard working and friendly. 😉
Disappointing and will nickel and dime you. Had chicken fried steak breakfast. Meat was very tough. Wife ordered a skillet which come with a meat. She wanted bacon but asked if it could be on the side and we realized later they charged her for a $4 side of bacon. Then she asked for a side of sausage gravy. Tiny cup for $3. The small town diner atmosphere was cool but I've had better breakfasts at Dennys.
It was ok. So much fried food. Two of our group of four got the catfish and enjoyed the thick cut. The onion rings were way too battered, we all ordered them and didn’t eat them. The steamed broccoli was still crunchy (maybe our preference is it to be cooked through). Okra seemed frozen previously. Hush puppies were good. Chicken fried chicken was good.
I really wanted to like this place! Parking lot was packed and I found the vibe charming. The food was terrible. Burger was greasy, fries were greasy. Service was slow. The kids fruit cup had strawberries and blueberries which is great. A lot of places just give canned mandarines or melons rather than the type of fresh fruit my kids love. Seems like breakfast may be the thing they do well. Definitely not worth the price, and we won’t be going back.
Food was delicious- New wait staff awesome- person training them-, not so much so.; she actually could use some retraining.- and education / retraining on appropriateness! Visit was on 4/5/25 at 5pm. Only reason service is not lower is it was not our server ( Ciara or new waitresses who were the issue).
I'd love to give a review about the food, but they never answer the phone for "to go" orders. I guess they can afford to turn away business?
First time customer. Had a few different burgers and chicken strips…somehow that was $72.00. Staff was fine and food was fine. But $72 for what I could’ve got at Dairy Queen for $30. Little steep.
Vegetable oil spread instead of butter and brown corn syrup for strip served in a plastic ketchup bottle. Our rule is of you don't have butter we aren't getting breakfast from you.
Friendly staff and the fried onions rings and pickles were good. The non-fried food and french fries taste store bought, freezer burned and reheated. I killed a German cockroach in the bathroom. We like small business restaurants this one needs to make serious changes. Maybe they were using good frozen through the COVID lockdown?
Seems like the place the locals go. Ordered two egg plates, over medium on one and sunny side up on the other one. My over medium eggs were very runny that's not over medium. My bacon was room temp, taste of bacon was good, just prefer warm bacon. Eggs besides not being over medium were ok, till I was almost done a found a little black hair 🤢. My husband ate all of his plate but says food was luke warm and hashbrowns needed to be cooked a little longer. Price was ok ..20 bucks for two breakfast with drinks. I would not return here based on my experience.
My family and I have eaten here twice and will not be going back. The first time was around Christmas, the food was good and the service was decent. It was busy and we were part of a large party but they did a great job of taking care of us. The second time we visited for breakfast, the server told us to sit where we wanted to, since it was pretty slow. After taking a seat, he asked if we wanted breakfast menus, which we did. He then said we had 5 minutes to order because breakfast was over at 10am and it was 9:55. Ok, a little rude but we let it slide and got our order in. He brings us our drinks, but we don’t see him again until our food comes out. It was almost like he was avoiding serving us. This is the best part, as we are eating, another couple comes in and he eagerly greets them. Clearly they are regulars because they make a comment about us sitting in their spot, to which the server laughs and says back “don’t worry, I don’t think they will be coming back”. It was like he was purposely going out of his way to make us feel unwelcome. Like it’s an inconvenience for him to do his job. Well he is right, we won’t be coming back. The atmosphere is depressing and the servers are rude, unless you are a regular. My family and I moved here a couple of months ago and this place made a terrible impression.
Cute place! Food was decent but the service was terrible. Took forever for someone to take our order. Never refilled our drinks. They forgot an order of fries. No one checked on us & had to ask twice for the check so we could leave. Also low key think we were overcharged.
Third time here in the past few months for breakfast. Same result. Small portions, overcooked eggs, overcooked hash browns and a so called piece of Ham that was possibly eighth of an inch thick. I bet the slice of ham didn’t weigh 2 ounces. My wife had a cup of coffee with her breakfast but was never offered a refill. Her food was overcooked as well. It’s not hard to put out a good breakfast. We won’t be back.
The staff was dismissive and talked about us in the kitchen, not having the decency to stand where they were unobserved. We waited WAY too long for eggs and French toast which were decent, but decent food isn’t hard to find in this area. We were disappointed to say the least.
I think the server named Max. He was rude to me when I was there. The service was not good at all. I was Traumatized
Very rude person as I walked in the front door! I didn't even have a chance a question to see if we could dine outside in the patio because we had our dog with us. She immediately said" not serving breakfast because it just past 10:30" " if you want to eat outside? Place a to go order and go outside" First time ever walking in there and it will be last!
Came for breakfast and left with nearly 2nd degree burns. Now, here’s the thing, accidents happen! But when the waitress spills piping hot coffee on a customer and then stands there in shock and needs prompting from the rest of the table members to get napkins, paper towels, something/anything to mop up the hot liquid that was spilled all over a person’s leg and then hands him a dirty dish rag that was used to clean up tables? What on earth? Now, like I said, accidents happen. But we then overheard the wait staff trying to blame the spill on one of our table members. Then they did not even come back to check on him to see if he needed ice, or anything, not once. Luckily everyone is fine, but when an accident happens apologize and make sure everyone is okay! That did not happen, in fact we felt like we were being avoided for the rest of our time there. In all honesty, we should have left after the spill. We have never felt this unwelcome before. And sadly, the food was very mediocre. Definitely will not back. Even though one of the servers on our way out giggled at us and said “hope you’ll be back.” What a wild experience.
My husband and me ate there yesterday after church. We both got Chicken Fried Steak. I dont like to leave bad reviews, but I had to on this. Both of our CFS's were grissily, and hard to cut. We couldn't believe it. They must not have ran it through the tenderizer machine or whatever, because we could hardly even chew it. We are going to lay off of Oak Creek for a minute. However, the service was fine.
We waited 45 minutes for 2 club sandwiches with onion rings which were burnt and not good at all. We ate one each and left the rest. Other customers that came in and ordered 10 minutes after us received their food first and had ordered the same thing. Waitress was nice however never came and checked on us
