Came in for lunch the food was great and the atmosphere was relaxing yet upbeat. The staff were friendly and attentive. I have the ceasar salad which was fantastic and the Antipasti Ciabatta which had enough spice for a kick yet great flavour. My mom had the super food salad and soup of the of the day which she really enjoyed. We are here for 3 more days and will be back.
The bar is well stocked and the bar tenders make excellent drinks. The star of this pub however is their kitchen. The chef and his staff produce food that is simply superb. I have had great meals in many places but this place surprised me. I ordered the fish of the day and my wife ordered the soup. We were blown away. We happened to be sitting at the bar and observed how meticulous the chef and staff were in plating the dishes. This pub is chasing Michelin stars 🤩!

Was in Dublin for 10 days, this gastropub took care of me. My only complaint is that the carrot and also the sweet potato/butternut squash soups are so incredibly good that they should be served in a large drinkable mug. So yea.. Get the soup, then the burger, and then have them make you an Irish Sazerac (The cat man made me one!)... Gary, Ham, Lele, George, and everyone elses name that I fail to remember... Thank you. Oh yea and the pear crumble is friggin great.
Dropped in for an early dinner. The food was fab with fish and chips for him and the daily special Ruben sandwich for me. The Ruben was wonderful, the perfect combination of taste pastrami and sour kraut all in perfectly toasted bread. Their cocktail menu is excellent. All classics, I had an old-fashioned, but I could have stayed all night so I could have them all.
We ordered a mix of dishes, and every plate felt thoughtfully prepared and comforting. The pan-fried fish was beautifully cooked — crisp skin, tender flesh, and bright flavours from the vegetables and herbs. Simple, fresh, and very well balanced. The burger with chunky chips was proper gastropub comfort food: juicy, rich, and satisfying, with golden wedges that were crisp outside and fluffy inside. The chicken main stood out for its tenderness — juicy meat, seasonal vegetables, and a clean, home-style feel that worked perfectly with the cozy atmosphere. A classic fish & chips delivered exactly what you want: light batter, flaky fish, proper chips, and a creamy sauce on the side. The seafood chowder was warming and generous, full of flavour and perfect for a relaxed evening. The arancini were crisp and indulgent, ideal for sharing, while the salad with cured ham, seeds, and cheese added a fresh, well-balanced note to the table. We also shared sticky chicken wings — rich, glossy, and finger-licking good. Overall, the food matched the atmosphere: comforting, unpretentious, and perfect for a long, cozy dinner with friends. 🍷💬
We had the steak medium and the chicken. It was incredibly delicious along with this parsnip puree, which was unexpectedly incredible. The service was great. All the food came out 5 star quality. For dessert we had the fudge brownie sundae which matched the quality of the steak. The sauce that came with the steak was soo good I had to pair them. I normally eat steak with no sauce. It was amazing both with and without the sauce. The chicken was moist and not dry. I could keep going but I’ll try to keep this short.
Excellent seafood chowder!!! Quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. Visited this place twice this trip to Dublin. It’s that good. Tenters is close to Dublin Liberties Distillery and Teeling distillery, so our first time at Tenters was while waiting for a Distillery Tour😀. Also the Teeling whiskey ice cream 🍨 was nice.
Very good fish and chips here. I was happy with this selection as it was some of the best dm fish I have had to this point. It was cooked perfectly and was gluten free. I would recommend this dish to anyone looking for something good to eat. I also enjoyed a cider and I had a local beer called 5 lamps. Both were good.
Loved our visit to the Tenters. Staff were very welcoming, the food was excellent and the service was brilliant. Thank you to everyone at the Tenters for great meal.
Really exciting find we stumbled upon. Refreshing drinks, cozy and sophisticated atmosphere, and wonderful food and service.
We just landed in Dublin Friday night and this was our first stop after checking in to our hotel. It was lovely, great atmosphere, fab staff and gorgeous food! Vibrant, classy place with chic decor. Highly recommend!
Braised Beef Gastro Pie was 10/10. Tomahawk Pork Chop also very good.
Great atmosphere and extremely friendly / welcoming staff. Visited twice while in Dublin and both times the food was amazing. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area or conveniently staying at Aloft Dublin City, you won't be disappointed.
Food was delicious. Staff were very friendly. Food was reasonably priced
We had a great meal with the Seafood Chowder, Steak Pie, and Fish and Chips. Plenty of Guinness. The staff was great and the live music topped off a great evening.
One lovely place, very good food and drink.
Friendly and tasty! I especially liked the chowder which was surprisingly rich with lots of proper pieces of fish!
We had an excellent meal. I have celiac and it’s the best gluten free fish and chips I have had in Ireland. Great for those who suffer from allergies.
Stopped here as one of our only non-planned meals of our 13 day trip to Ireland and it was PHENOMENAL. Service WAS GREAT, TASTY DRINKS, AND THE FOOD SO GOOD! We can recommend the lamb shank, truffle fries, and that Burger! Happy accident and the service was great.
Amazing food and staff everything was amazing the fish and chips were brilliant and the brownie melts in your mouth, If you love a really nice restaurant and love pub grub this I would highly recommend
This is a great restaurant located in the Aloft hotel! Whether you’re dining in meeting up with some friends or doing take out, this is a great place for some drinks and some simple bites. The food ranges from basic salads and some soups to some steaks and burgers. I ordered the burger to go as I was staying in the Aloft hotel. Very nice staff and the food was ready as promised. The atmosphere was definitely busy and noisy as there was live music! My burger was tasty and did the job, I wouldn’t mind eating here again but maybe trying something else from the menu!
Great lunch stop. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and ornate vibe. Took three tries to find a beer that wasn’t tapped out but that seemed to happen to frequently during this trip to Dublin. We ordered chicken strips and beef pie and both were great. Beef pie was flavorful and the beef was tender with high quality cuts used. The chicken strips were chicken breast, and was moist and adequately seasoned. Wife was hesitant to try the beef pie after a poor experience elsewhere in the city, but I talked her into switching plates midway through and she loved the pie also.
This shall forever remain in my box of happy memories as the supplier of my first cocktail for the year 2020. On January 1st, no less. They make their own brand of liquidy creations, mine was called Georgie's Revenge and it was delicious served cold. Food also yummy, fried chicken tenters (see what they did there?) and beef burger ticked the box, we're fortunate to live close by and will be back for more - but we'll have to be careful to avoid match days. Because the sole reason for the -1 star (it was a hard and very personal decision) was the huge screen showing some soccer on Sky sports. I guess Georgie had to take it up on someone.
I ate here several times during my last stay at the hotel in the same building. It took me a couple of times to realize that the food actually isn’t all that great and that the portion sizes are quite small (but cost quite high). The atmosphere and interior is really nice and cozy, which played a big part in me taking so long to realize the flaws, but there are plenty. The food isn’t terrible, but it isn’t great either. I tried several courses throughout my stay and it was all OK, but once again on the slimmer side as far as size for that prices goes. Staff is nice and attentive, they try, but some days (like Sunday) was really bad. Missing request, long time to order, forgetting items etc. So all in all I can say I will be recommend it, because it’s kind of one of two nice places in the area, but there is much to improve to make the service and food match the lovely interior.
Some great food at reasonable prices. The chowder was delicious and large. Service was attentive and friendly. Is it a pub or a hotel restaurant though? Atmosphere is difficult to describe. Will be back though as overall food and service make up for it.
We stopped here for a late night bite. We ordered the brownie and steak. The steak was extremely tender, and just as dry. It was tough to get the whole thing down. The brownie was just as disappointing, it came with whiskey ice cream which we decided to give a try as they didn’t have vanilla. Would skip this place and roll the dice going anywhere else.
Not blown away by the food. A little pricy and mediocre. Fish and Chips. They nailed the chips. The fish arrived to the table warm at best. The batter had a dry grainy taste off it. Not entirely pleasant, but not the worst fish and chips I've ever had. The pasta with truffle was tasty. I suspect I would not finish the plate as it was too rich for my palette and better value than the fish and chips. The Eton Mess was not an Eton Mess. I suspect a store bought meringue with cream, blueberries and sauce on top. It was tasty but well over priced. It's hard not to make meringue with cream not taste good. I can't fault the service! All in all with so many good gastro pubs around. Give this place a miss!
A clean and fresh place, but the feeling was not very welcoming. I asked for a starter drink and got it after my main course was served. Then I said that I wanted a freshly one made, after my meal, and it felt like I had to work for that. I mean since the drink didn't appeared before the food was served I could not really drink that coctail with it. Then a servant came asked me if I wanted maionaise or ketchup to my fries and I answered ketchup, but he never showed up with it, he was instead polishing glasses! The last thing is only a suggestion. Serve the gambas peeled, with only the tail left. It was quite hard peeling them when they were in the sauce and all. I was worried about my evening gown, since there was hard to eat properly.
I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share this in hopes of sparing others the experience I’ve just endured. I had dinner here last night and it ended in the worst way imaginable — severe food poisoning immediately after returning to my hotel. I’ve been violently ill ever since and haven’t eaten anything else that could’ve caused it. The timing makes it absolutely clear it was the meal here. I started with the seafood chowder, which now I deeply regret ordering, and followed it with the sea bass which was a dish that was so filled with bones I spent more time trying to deconstruct it than actually eating it. Not only was the preparation careless, but it seems the hygiene and handling of the seafood were even worse. Getting sick on holiday is awful enough but getting sick from what’s supposed to be the “Best pub food in Dublin” is unacceptable. I sincerely hope they take a long, hard look at their kitchen practices, especially when it comes to seafood. I am disappointed as I had such high hopes.
Lovely fire, lightning and decor. Need more staff as place is big, but it was a Wednesday night. I love onion rings and thought the quality would be better. Burger was fine, chips were lovely.
I have to say, my burger was delicious. The rest of the family didn't do as well. Cold shellfish, I mean, very cold. Homemade chicken tenders were (frozen) ones...
So we decided to try here for a sunday dinner as we are fairly local to the area and like to support local business. Its basically pub grub with notions. And not very good at that. Arrived at 6, Place was empty but we were put at a table in front of the door. Anyone in Ireland will tell you, no matter the month, don't sit in the doorway. When we asked to be moved somewhere else there was a bit of a song and dance about them needing the table back at 7.30. Its a pub, apparently, so what kind of sunday pub meal would we be having that takes 90 minutes? After we were reluctantly moved by the hostess we kept it simple, Burger and chips and fish and chips. In Ireland we pride ourselves on the quality of both. We have cows and fish abundant. If you overcook fish and chips anywhere you wont get customers back. Bit like if you get a bad pint of guinness in a pub . Why go back. I wont be back to this place. As a matter of principal i never leave food behind. People go hungry every day. But i just couldn't finish this over cooked under seasoned of a piece of cod. And the beef burger was basically a hammered to death overcooked dry as sand piece of mince meat that fell apart. The chips were fine, and while the server was very nice and they did have my favourite beer, wouldn't go there for a pint as there is no atmosphere.
Tenters is GORGEOUS and the food was lovely. The service was not great. It was slow to be recognized from staff from the moment you enter through the moment we left. I observed other customers noticing this as well. The staff didn't smile, nor did they anticipate any refills, additional drinks (revenue generator, duh), but they were REALLY into joking and chatting with each other. Lots of coughing into hands and no hands washing. The food was delicious and hot and the venue was really cute. If that floats your boat, I recommend this spot. If you want attentive and friendly service, this is not the spot for you.
Things started off well when the Hostess moved us from a high top to a nice table with comfy barrel chairs. Our single glass orders of wine were poured at the table. Nice touch. After that all down hill. My burger was made with good quality beef but was cooked to a hockey puck consistency. The chicken in my wife's curried chicken pot pie was also over cooked. The wait staff clearly know the food is terrible as our waitress did not stop by the table once during the meal and was not surprised when we did not want the left overs. I would stay away from Tenters. The executive chef should be ashamed of himself. They fall into the category of tourist trap.
Used to give this place a 5 star, but unfortunately the food menu isn't great anymore. They have changed the menu several times over the years, but the current menu is the worst that has ever been. It seams like the only keep whatever is not tasty. I have tried out everything on the menu and there used to be a lot of good options and l don't understand why they would take away nice options and keep serving the gambas and the gastro pie, both are tasteless to say the least, because if l was fully honest about it l would sound rude.
