I had lunch at Uncle Jack’s Meat House yesterday (12/18/2025), and I came away genuinely impressed. Don't let the modest exterior fool you - this place is outstanding. The steak was excellent—properly cooked, well seasoned, and clearly good quality meat. The vegetables and sides were also very good, not an afterthought, which isn’t always the case at places like this. Everything on the plate felt intentional and well executed. What surprised me most was the overall value. The quality was very much on par with places like Ruth’s Chris, but at prices more in line with Outback or LongHorn. That combination is rare, and it makes Uncle Jack’s feel like a real gem in the community rather than just another steakhouse option. Service deserves a callout as well. Our servers were attentive, friendly, and genuinely pleasant to interact with—professional without being stiff, and welcoming without being overbearing.

We stopped here to eat before going to a concert at gas South. The food was really good. You have to try the bacon and peanut butter appetizer because the bacon there is excellent. The drinks were also very good as well. We also shared the truffle mushroom burger, and that was very, very good. I highly recommend this place.

Food was great. Service was great. I don't drink but they had a lot of cool looking drinks and plenty of mocktail options. Sandwiches and burgers weren't crazy expensive but if your eating steak or having drinks be prepared to spend.

Dining at Meat House on Sugarloaf was an experience that far exceeded expectations, blending warm hospitality with elevated steakhouse precision. We arrived around 5 p.m. to a quiet dining room, greeted by our attentive server, Chelsea, who set the tone for the evening with her genuine care and seamless service. Atmosphere & Drinks The room felt inviting polished yet relaxed, not stuffy and the bar program was immediately impressive. The MH Mule was perfectly balanced with ginger bite and citrus lift, while my sister’s Berry Spritz was refreshing, bright, and beautifully presented. Starters We began with the New Zealand Lollipop Lamb Chops, an appetizer that could easily stand as an entrée. Cooked to a perfect medium with a deep char, the meat carried smoky richness while still holding delicate tenderness. The Dijon mustard drizzle and horseradish cream added both tang and spice, cutting through the lamb’s richness while enhancing its savory character. Main Courses I chose the Choice Boneless Ribeye (16 oz., wet-aged 40 days). The steak was everything a ribeye should be: deeply marbled, generously seasoned, and grilled to a flawless medium. Each bite released a burst of buttery beef flavor that rivaled and, in my opinion, surpassed similar cuts I’ve enjoyed at Ruth’s Chris. For sides, the Five Cheese Mac & Cheese was indulgent without being heavy silky cheese pull balanced by a golden breadcrumb crust for texture. The Shredded Brussels Sprouts, accented with Thai seasoning, smoky bacon, and a whisper of brown sugar, offered a vibrant sweet-savory contrast that elevated a classic steakhouse vegetable into something truly memorable. Across the table, my sister enjoyed a Signature Salad that was crisp, generous, and well dressed, while my brother’s Honey Bourbon Short Ribs paired with fried onions and served with house-made meatballs were tender, rich, and layered with bourbon’s caramel warmth. Desserts The meal closed with desserts that showed the kitchen’s versatility beyond steak. The Walnut Lava Brownie with ice cream was molten decadence, the nutty crunch balancing the gooey chocolate center. My sister’s Banana Pudding Crunch, served over banana bread with wafers and cookie crumble, was Southern comfort in its most elevated form nostalgic yet refined. Service & Value From start to finish, the service team moved with grace and attentiveness, embodying a culture of hospitality that matched the quality of the food. Prices felt more than fair considering the craftsmanship, portion sizes, and overall execution. Final Thoughts Meat House on Sugarloaf is a modern American bar and grill that honors steakhouse traditions while infusing creativity into every plate. From its carefully aged USDA Prime cuts to inventive sides and polished cocktails, it reflects a kitchen and staff that take pride in the details. This is a restaurant where both the casual diner and the seasoned steakhouse enthusiast will feel at home. In my view, it is setting a new standard in the area a 10/10 dining experience worth revisiting often

I love uncle jacks! We went for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! The steaks were perfectly cooked. The lamb chops were so flavorful! The sides were good, not spectacular but good! The Mac and cheese was delicious. The coconut cake was the perfect way to end the night and the meal. Our server was attentive, kept drinks full, and was friendly and pleasant.

Our server Patty is totally awesome, she takes great care of her customers. If you are a bacon lover and you have never been to uncle Jack's meat house, you need to go try it, it is the absolute best. I will go sometime to just get a take out order. Everyone is really nice here. But ask for patty. Oh and there home made peanut butter omg!!!

We went for n early dinner. Between two couples, we ordered the bacon appetizer, a variety of burgers and sandwiches. The bacon appetizer was unexpectedly awesome. Never thought about bacon and peanut butter combination but it was fantastic. The steak sandwich was great. There weren’t many people there but I could see how it can get loud once it’s full of people. The ladies ordered the coffee old fashioned and it was great. $18 for a cocktail, though…. Our server was great and attentive. Very enjoyable meal.

Preston was a great waiter. The bacon appetizer was very good and they even gave us 2 other free appetizers and 30 dollars of gift cards for it being our first time. I got the Jack burger and it was solid. The sweet potato fries were underwhelming, but everything else was incredible. I will be coming back asap. Very impressive staff and menu.

Birthday Dinner could not have been better. It was very unassuming from the outside but the food was divine. My new favorite for steak. Pricey but definitely worth it.

First time here and it’s a gem! We stopped here based on good reviews prior to a show at Gas South. Excellent menu and fantastic wine choices. We had the bacon appetizer and it was 11 stars if I could give it. The main choices are thorough and the steak sandwich was perfect, the au jus was worth the dip. Don’t miss the coconut cream pie! Thanks to bartender Patty for making us feel so welcome and taking care of our every request.

My husband and I visited Uncle Jack's Meathouse (Sugarloaf) on 2/1/25 for lunch. It was his second visit but my first. I was impressed! There was no wait time, the food is a little pricey but so filling and delicious (my ribs were SUPER tender), and our server, Sarah, was the perfect bow that tied the whole package together! She was the epitome of customer service! I believe her sweet spirit, attention to detail, and professionalism were instilled in her way before she received training at this establishment. She was just very authentic. Trust, I have seen my fair share of well-trained individuals who lacked people skills and a passion to please. Kudos to you, Ms Sarah, and to the chefs who left us wanting more! We will definitely recommend Uncle Jack's to our friends!

Preston was great, food was good. Meatballs were ok not great, ribeye steak was great, bread was amazing, the ribs were great, mac and cheese was a miss(dry), mozzarella wasn’t worth the price - 2 small triangles.

This was an amazing experience for my husband's birthday. Staff was extremely nice and attentive. Even the manager came out and spoke with us. Food was tasty fresh and appealing to the eyes. The ascetic are unique and beautiful. This was my husband and I first time going there and we will definitely be back. I would definitely recommend this for an amazing steaks.

amazing amazing from the food to the service what a wonderful refreshing dining experience. Luis our server was knowledgeable friendly and fun. He really made this an enjoyable visit. The manager stopped by the table and actually apologized for not coming by sooner 😯 and chatted with us. This level of service definitely put the entire experience over the top. Top notch efficient service and the food mouthwatering deliciousness the Mr. had a ribeye steak with Cajun seasoning& loaded Yukon potatoes🤤 we also had a tasty smoked cocktail that paired very well with the steak . I had fish and chips which was the Friday special-the popover is definitely worth trying as well. We Will be back soon and I just can’t wait. We live about two hours away but I do visit the area often so I have already put this on the calendar for my next trip. Truly a wonderful dining experience.

I decided to try Uncle Jacks Meat House for Valentines Dinner with the wife and it was an awesome choice. The name explains the menu. It’s meat and more meat. The absolute star of the show is the iconic Bacon Appetizer that comes with peanut butter and a chipotle maple glaze sauce. This dish alone is a fantastic reason to visit but the other items like the burgers along with their Mac & Cheese are a few more. The staff is quick to greet you and seat you. The wait staff is knowledgeable and service even on a busy Saturday night was on point. Reservations are recommended as the location appears to be a very popular restaurant. Will definitely be back to try more items from menu.

Everything we had here was awesome. Meatballs & cheese wedges were delicious. Wagyu was flavored so well. Burger was great… who doesn’t love a place with peanut butter on the burger? I will absolutely be back next time I’m in town. EDIT- came back to town 6 months later. We ate here 4 nights in a row. Tried 7 of the sides, great. Filet, ribeye, & strip were excellent. Tomahawk was pretty but taste was so so. Don’t sleep on ribs or bacon appetizer either. Staff are as excellent every time. Highly recommended!

Wow! This place is amazing! The meat is out of this world. I regret that I was too excited and ate everything before I could take a picture. The cocktails, however, I did get a picture of. They were all fantastic. We sat on the patio. The area is enclosed and heated and was very comfortable. The ambience reminds one of an old speakeasy. The service was top notch and my wife and I plan to put this on our list of top of the line places to frequent. They're a little pricey but it is well worth it!

One of the best meals we’ve ever had- tons of vegetarian options (believe it or not); cocktails and wine selection 10/10. Our sever Kass gave AMAZING recommendations and ensured we had a memorable night. Will definitely return!

We make a point to come here whenever we're in town, as they are consistently great! We really enjoyed the pork belly chicarrones and bacon (with peanut butter and syrup) appetizers. The steaks were perfectly cooked, and we split a piece of their awesome cheesecake for dessert. We had reservations, but they weren't too busy. We were there on a Monday evening. Check them out if you get a chance!

Uncle Jack’s Meat House is a must-visit for anyone who loves bold flavors and creative twists on classic dishes. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a rustic yet modern vibe that set the stage for an incredible meal. I started with the flight of bacon, which was an experience in itself. Each piece was thick-cut and perfectly cooked, and the combination of peanut butter and spicy maple syrup took it to another level—sweet, smoky, spicy, and savory all at once. For the main course, I went with The King Burger, and wow—this is not your average burger. The custom burger blend was juicy and flavorful, but what really made it stand out was the combination of house-made peanut butter, applewood-smoked bacon, and caramelized banana. It might sound unusual, but the balance of salty, sweet, and smoky flavors was absolutely phenomenal. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the staff clearly knows their menu well. If you’re looking for a spot that pushes the boundaries of flavor in the best way possible, Uncle Jack’s Meat House is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Excellent service, great atmosphere, outdoor seating. Appetizers: We love the Applewood-Smoked Bacon with 2 dipping sauces (House-Made Peanut butter & Chipotle Maple-Glazed) and the Crispy Pork Belly "Chicharrones" Hot Sauce, Lime. Whew that hot sauce was hot but good. We get those appetizers every time we visit. We all tried the Scratch Buttermilk Biscuit with Local Honey-Cultured Butter Entrees: My hubby and I shared the Sunday special: chicken fried steak w/ white gravy, mashed potatoes and greens. Luckily we did because it was a large portion. The rest of our group had the Seafood Fra Diavolo and Atlantic Salmon. Dessert: bread pudding.

What a gem. Great atmosphere and menu only to be outdone by their extraordinary server and bar tender. We were in town for the rodeo and met some friends here. The food was unique and very good. The waiter really knew his stuff and the bar tender had a great sense of humor. They nailed it.

Tasty cuisine! A coworker suggested this location to me when I came to spend my birthday with my parents! The meal was quite tasty. Although I found the food to be a little oily, I couldn't really complain. I suggest starting with the bacon appetizer. It may be expensive, but that was the finest bacon I've ever had! Without a doubt, I'll return here with friends and tell everyone about it.

Overall the food and service was amazing . We were a large party of 10 celebrating my win at a bodybuilding show and my brother in laws birthday. And much to my surprise we were given exceptional service with no problems at all. Which was a surprise because typically with such a large party something always goes wrong. Our server was incredible! She was extremely diligent and attentive. The food was phenomenal, especially the desserts! We ordered one of everything! The peanut butter banana cheesecake should go on the regular menu! It was that good! The bacon was amazing and the lobster tacos were the bomb! Just wish there was a little more of it. If I had anything negative to say was that the bun on the burger was so crunchy it took over the taste of the burger and all I could taste was bread. But that's just nitpicking. Can't wait to go back!

Me and my husband sat at the bar, and had the best lunch. Split an app and split the uncle jacks steak sandwich. Gloria was the bartender and was helpful with suggestions since it was our first visit! Beer was cold, food was great! Would 100% go back to try more menu items!

We were in town (Jan 2026) for a volleyball ball tournament. The snow storm was causing everywhere near us to close early. Our group called Uncle Jack’s to see if they were open and could accommodate our party of 25 (hungry boys and parents). They graciously accepted the opportunity. When we arrived (later than we anticipated) they had our tables ready and promptly greeted and started taking our orders. Our server and bartender were amazing; prompt, professional and very friendly. The food was top notch. The bacon and meatball appetizers were off the chain. Everything was top notch. We will definitely go back if we’re ever in the area again. Or…bring Uncle Jack’s to the Charlotte Metro area and we’ll come hang out more often. Thanks to all the staff for such a great experience.

Joseph P. went above and beyond from start to finish. He was patient, professional, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was done right. We were celebrating my son's birthday. You don’t come across people who take this much pride in their work anymore. Joseph made the whole experience smooth and stress-free, and his communication was on point the entire time. If you’re looking for someone reliable, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to providing top-tier service, Joseph is the one. Highly recommend! Go eat some tasty steaks while enjoying some cocktails!!

Joseph our server was the SHIT! This restaurant had everything you’d want - great vibes, killer atmosphere, phenomenal food. Everything was way beyond expectations. The bacon appetizer with peanut butter and the chipotle sauce was absolute fire! The charred peach margarita was insane. Entrée was great - we had a ginormous wedge salad, filets, asparagus, mashed potatoes - all seasoned perfection and cooked the exact way they should be - filets were tender juicy flavorful, asparagus had the perfect texture - a tiny bit of crisp on the outside but soft on the inside and the potatoes were a creamy, smooth, buttery dream. This place is Everything you’d expect and more. Definitely try this place out, and hope you get Joseph at your service! He was attentive, fun, Nice, respectful, he was great to chat with and he just had a really good vibe and disposition about him. The only downer for me is that I live in Illinois and not Duluth, Georgia, but I will be back.

The meal and service was great. Steak was cooked perfectly and tasted like a steak worth double the price they charged. The bacon appetizer is definitely a must try too, especially with that peanut butter sauce....so delicious. The only caveat I have was that we got a cheese popover given by the server to us and we found it had been added onto the bill without our knowledge.

Although the burgers left something to be desired, everything else was amazing. But honestly, this place gets a five star review because the server, Nicolas B., was easily one of the best servers our group has ever had. He was attentive, had an excellent memory, and seemed to anticipate our needs before we did. He timed everything perfectly and made the experience a five star.

I dined at this location 4-5 times but due to a busy schedule, I often choose to go! Especially the Thursday special fried chicken and Burger is my favorite for dinner! Today, the to go was extremely disappointing. The added protein of Applewood Bacon and braised pork was missing and then barely a handful of fries added! Not sure if there are different cooks for dine in and to go, but the execution came short! If you charge, what you charge (and I don’t mind paying it) then you MUST be on point. It warrants for no excuse! Update 9/18. Management reached out to listen to my concern and offered replacement! This was very courteous and caring! The food is very tasty! Thank you Uncle Jack’s MH!

Delicious food and wonderful service! I think something was happening in the kitchen and food took around 40 minutes (also it was father’s day), but server and manager made sure everyone was having a good time and food was delicious nonetheless.

Uncle Jack's Meat House offers decent burgers and a fantastic Caesar salad. However, the Mac and cheese lacked seasoning. While the tomahawk steak was flavorful, it was not worth the steep price of $7 per ounce, especially given the smallest cut available that day was 46 ounces. Nonetheless, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the decor exudes a great atmosphere. The cleanliness of the restaurant adds to the overall positive experience.

Talk about a place I want to love. The atmosphere is my perfect vibe. I love the feel, the brick walls and the nostalgic touches. The drinks were good. The Old Fashioned was well made and the wine was really good. Now, the service was very slow at the bar. I had to order water FOUR TIMES. This may be because the bartender was making drinks for the whole restaurant and to busy talking to the group on the other side of the bar. My steak was perfectly made, but had a lot of fat; even for a $44 ribeye. The Brussel sprouts were mostly bacon and maple syrup. I liked them even though I can’t consider the presentation as a vegetable. The price was too high for the experience. I’ll have to decide if I keep this on my regular rotation when I travel back to northern Atlanta. Everything about Uncle Jack’s is exactly what I like, but the execution was a little lacking.

The steak had great flavor and was cooked exactly as ordered; however, it was not as tender as a filet should be. The Candied Meatballs were excellent! The service was top notch, and the atmosphere was family friendly. Meatballs Filet Salmon Lamb chops

I went for my birthday and I wasn’t disappointed by the food at all. I will say the service was lacking a bit, but it was still good. The only part I didn’t enjoy was that there was a blackboard outside that had stated that it was $6 or so for ladies on Thursdays. This might’ve been my mistake, but I got charged full price for my old fashioned since I hadn’t ordered it at the bar. I thought it was strange but I guess restaurants will have their own policy.

Our waitress was awesome. Very friendly, out going and made many trips to our table. I ordered the 14 oz rib eye medium rare. It came medium, almost no pink at all. The steak was good, but not rememberable. Almost like Outback but more expensive. The Mac n Cheese was good however had a scorch taste like it was reheated. Not worth the price in my opinion (49 bucks)

Uncle Jack’s Meat House at Sugarloaf is a very busy place, which is usually a good sign. However, compared to the Peachtree Corners location, this one felt a bit tired. It was also very loud, and the door leading to the veranda was opened constantly. My daughter and I ended up getting cold because of it. The meat was mostly good, but for the price, I could honestly do better at home. We shared a 12-oz Wagyu steak for $125, and I was disappointed. The steak wasn’t properly trimmed; the fatty, chewy side wasn’t removed, and even though I usually enjoy fatty cuts, this piece was difficult to swallow. Overall, overpriced for the quality..

The food was very good, the bacon appatizer included peanut butter, and I haven't had that since I was a child. Lobster avacado mini tacos were also fabulous. Ihad the Jackpot, itwas what looked like witches cauldron sat it front of me. I'm on the smaller side, so it almost comical. As it said, the food was good though. It was kinda on the pricier side, but it was my boyfriend's birthday dinner, and he was happy, that's all that mattered to me. However, no matter where we sat, there was in a wind tunnel everytime a door was opened, and there was alot of door opening. Made the experience really unpleasant. Even after being moved twice, the problem was not resolved. Even the table behind us was complaining. Based on that and the weather getting much cooler, I won't be returning. Maybe in the warmer months, I might try it sitting outside, but definitely not right now.

First time here while in town...went from 3-4 on Saturday and told due to transitioning to dinner we could only order appetizers and burgers. Got a ooey gooey mooey burger with fries and some other burger with chorizo, salsa, avocado can't remember the name LOL with a side of Mac n cheese. The ooey burger had so much blue cheese on it, even for me who loves blue cheese, it was so overpowering, couldn't really enjoy the burger as a whole. The other burger wasn't bad but the burger itself had no flavor. Mac and cheese was pretty good but so teeny for a side and what the actual prices were. $50-60 total.(Also had two waters and a ginger ale). Waiter was really nice and responsive but stated he hadn't really tried anything on the menu so couldn't tell us options that were the best from his personal experience, just what others recommended... That made me a little bit concerned LOL. Cute atmosphere though, sat outside and it was a really nice day, shaded porch like area. Would have liked to been able to try other things on the menu.

To the point… I didn't like the location… maybe its the mood that I was hoping to set for my date. It seemed like they had no intimate seating to match the food. I mean, I took a picture of my steak and captured another person. The couple next to me began competing with us for air space because they literally had a long bench with small tables pulled up to it. I kept lisening and waiting our turn to speak otherwise it felt rude. But, If you are looking for a quick bite and rather eat in your car then its a must! The steak was awesome and the drinks were delicious. My date and I kept our intimate conversations to a minimal and enjoyed the drinks. The bacon is wonderful and they bring the steaks out on iron treatments… nice… Now can I have a booth and private tables?

A

Great service, very nice waiters! Food was ok, my bf can make better steak at home so I won’t return. Main thing I came to say is that they applied a 20% gratuity charge (which ended up being more than my steak!), which on their menu says they only charge that if the group is 6+ people. It was only me and my bf…that really threw everything off for me. Not sure if that’s normal, but for that reason alone I won’t return.

P

Went because I heard their “go to” dish was the bacon appetizer. It was…..bacon. It tasted fine but was thick cut bacon. Ordered the ribeye for $44 and it tasted fine. I’m sure it was good quality meat, but it was cut so thin it looked like something I’d get at Denney’s. Atmosphere was nice, and the service was good, but for the price it wasn’t somewhere I’d go again.

I stopped by for dinner a couple of days ago to celebrate my wifes birthday. We ordered a couple of sides and a tomahawk to share. Requested it to be cooked medium rare. Everything started off fine until they brought the steak. To start off, we waited a few minutes to flag down someone to get us a fork after the steak was brought out. Well, it came out rare, almost blued. I raised my concern and said told the waitress it was severely undercooked. She brought over a manager and she offered to recook it. Was already annoyed at the idea of reheating a wagyu steak that was already cut up. Didnt want to make a big deal out of it. They brought it out again, still rare. The waitress at this point then asks me didnt I order it rare? Ive already mentioned it was medium rare prior and expect something like this to be clarified before the 1st recook. At this point, I believe the proper measure wouldve been to offer a new steak instead as we barely had a piece of it before sending it back. Nope. She took it for another recook and brought back charcoal. At this point, we're both very disgruntled and completely lost our appetite as the $180 steak was ultimately dried out and charred. This being a wagyu steak, most of the fat that melts from body heat, has already been fried up on the grill by the 2nd recook. Im already quite angry at this point but the thing that set me off was when the manager came back and said she comped 20% and told me that these things happen sometimes. Yeah. Maybe at a long horn, not on a $200 steak at a fairly upscale steakhouse. Burned off half my steak and thought 20% was a good solution. Completely ruined my wifes birthday dinner. Took the remainer home for the pets. They wouldnt even eat it because of how charred it was. Ill never be back to this establishment and will make sure none of my peers ever step foot in here unless they want to give a bunch of clowns that dont know how to cook a steak their money.

My lunch group attended this location at my suggestion last week. I had been before and it was fantastic. This experience was quite different. Our server was extremely inconvenienced by having us there and he made it known at every opportunity. He rolled his eyes at several of us , individually, when we asked questions. I had told him when I ordered an appetizer for the table , to put it on my check, but when he brought the check it was all on one. I asked if he could spilt it and he said YOU NEVER TOLD ME IT WAS ALL SEPARATE. I said oh? I’m sorry, can you spilt it? And he said yes but it’s going to be a pain and take a while. This was just one of many examples, such as two friends ordered the same entree but with different sides. When one friend said “I didn’t order fries”, he came back over and reached over to snatch the side off the other friends plate and give it to the other one. One ordered coffee that never came and then he said we never ordered it. My friends said they will never return, and I probably won’t either. Luckily for him the 20% gratuity was included because he wouldn’t have gotten near that - and I am always a very generous tipper. There are many more examples but the point is that we felt like we were completely unwelcome and bothering him.
