Exceptional visit. I have not been here since Covid started because I refuse to eat cold fish in my car. Now that dine in is open, I'm back and impressed. They used this time to make some improvements - just enough to no longer look run down and smell greasy, but a vast improvement. The staff has also changed. These employees are just as friendly as always but now they have an added give a care attitude that wasn't always present before. If it has been a while since you have been here, I recommend coming back. You will love the face-lift, welcoming atmosphere, and improved food quality.

Hey guy's , so it's late for breakfast, and early for a big dinner meal...so where to go? Well this is the only location I frequent. Why??? Have you ever been to a place that's not a real restaurant, but the staffing treat you as if they are right up there with the big guys. Never in all my years eating here have I heard not one grumble. I order my country fish cooked few seconds longer for extra crunch. When we were eating inside, I would find a corner, get my book. It's clean, quiet, and get this they attend to my refills. WOW!!! this is a drive in?? I order 3 piece 2 veggies , bread sticks, and a drink...give them a 10.00 and get change back🤗...l love this manager, and the staffing ....I also like the deserts😊

This is the first restaurant I've been in a long time since Covid-19 started that had everything on the menu. Food was fresh and good. I paid 20 dollars for 1 person to eat and it was well worth it. Young lady who was taking the order was amazing didn't rush you made sure you didn't forget anything and suggested other things on the menu. I will definitely eat here again.

Looking for a quick dinner for me and The Mamma. She decided she wanted fish so we went to Captain D's. I didn't know they had catfish on the menu, but she liked it a lot. Fast service, the place was clean, and the young lady that served us was delightful!

It's been over 10 years since I walked in a Captain D's and I must say this location did not let me down. The food was great and the service was amazing. They ensured someone was walking around waiting on tables and refilling our drinks. I can't remember having this happen at another other location. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Staff was friendly and served everyone with a smile. Clean and neat sitting area as well.

Look! I haven’t been this place in at least 15 years. My husband and I were in the area and decided to stop and we were not disappointed. There was a very small wait, but it was definitely worth it. The food was hot, fresh and delicious just I remembered it. I was able to introduce my 8 year to their food and she has asked about several times. Thank you Captain D’s for staying the same!

My opinion is quite bias, considering that I grew up eating at this restaurant in Mississippi and still love this restaurant as an adult. This location is quite the drive for me but well worth it. My food is always hot and fresh when I receive it.

At first, I was not going come here because it was a little out of my way, but the closest one to me had three stars. Decided to make the drive and oh my, it was worth it. I put an order through the phone and the lady in the front was really nice to me. Once I got to the restaurant, she knew who I was and promptly asked for my order. Make sure I got everything that I needed in my order and nothing was missing. Her customer service is beyond amazing. There’s definitely a reason why this one is 4.2 stars. The Customer Service of the young lady at the register and store Manager Jesus went above and beyond Service. Mom and I decided to dine in to eat some seafood, we ordered a 2 and 3 piece fish meal and they offered us some fried shrimp for an additional reasonable price with 2 waters. The food was delivered to our table hot, fresh and it was delicious. The Manager Jesus even came by our table to see if we needed anything else. Stepped into a time warp here vis-a-vis the interior decor - forty years old? The prices of old staples have doubled understandably; hence no complaints. The food was plated correctly. Each item was freshly cooked. I felt that the fried fish was too mushy inside. I sincerely hope that the bean counters have not taken over the company. The service was extremely courteous. I'm not gonna lie. I went here with extremely low expectations. I fully expected to be disappointed. As a kid, I was always a Long John Silvers fan. I never thought much of Captain D's. I rarely eat at either nowadays. However, something was telling me to try this place. And I am glad I did. I used the drive-thru and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I received my order and the food was hot and fresh! And I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! Way way way better than Long John Silvers!!! I'm a fan! I love to see businesses doing things right, and this one definitely gets kudos from me! Highly recommend for a quick meal.

Fish (both "fish" and catfish) were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Just as you would expect! Coleslaw is admirable. Mac and cheese was very...cheesy. Loved the hush puppies.

This was the second time I've eaten at a Captain D's and I wasn't let down. I ordered the chicken and fish combo, as I did before, and I assume they cook it to order because it took awhile both times. That's perfectly okay though because who wants food that's been sitting around? Their fish is pretty good, with a light, crispy, flaky crust, but the chicken I feel is better than the fish! Crazy I know lol... But the chicken is just so tender, with the perfect texture pair of crisp and crunchy on the outside, and juicy and soft on the inside. Price-wise it can get up there a little, as it cost me 30-35$ for 2 meals and desserts, but it's worth it though!

Captain D’s offers new items on the menu that I’ve never tried before and they said that if something is wrong with your food, you can’t get your money back or exchange for something else.

I eat here when I can't think of anything else. It's 4 minutes from my house. I ate the $4.99 special, which was one fish plank and four teeny tiny shrimp with fries and two hush puppies. I also added a breadstick cos they taste like plain donuts. They have the same breadsticks as TGI. Stilled filled me up, but nothing to write home about.

Everything would have been great if we hadn't gotten sick off of the shrimp. It was on sale and I suppose I see why. Im just so thankful that I didn't give it to my baby. My boyfriend and I both ate the shrimp while my son only ate fish and fries. We were both sick the next morning. Luckily it passed quickly but next time I'll just stick with the fish and fries.

Generally pretty good spot for taste of deep fried cod fillets and veggies at a reasonable price. Shrimp is not high quality but good. I usually have the whitefish and it's a good cut. Staff is very friendly.

We had the fish special and it was pretty good. Not great. It was warm, not hot. A customer before me wanted to order the broccoli cheese soup that they had advertisements for all over the building. The cashier said that they didn't have any made. The guy said that he would be willing to wait. The cashier went to the back and talked with another employee, returned and informed the customer that it was frozen in a bag and that they didn't have any thawed out to cook. If you have this item advertised and it is a special, why wouldn't you ensure that you prepared enough ahead of time? I also wanted some of the soup and was very dissatisfied that they wouldn't even make it for 3 paying customers.

The food is still great here but the setup to the restaurant is abysmal currently. Most of the seats are closed well after the pandemic, no condiment dispenser whatsoever, the prices have gone up big time but the service was good so I guess it balances where it counts but I hope they don’t cut corners any further.

I ordered the giant fish sandwich. It was indeed a large piece of fish that protruded from the bun by quite a bit. Nothing else was added to the sandwich except a little tartar sauce...not very impressed. The fries were less than spectacular. They didn't taste fresh at all. When I add on the long wait time at the drive thru, I can't recommend this Captain D's location.

This is my favorite location but my last visit was not as pleasant as it usually is. I ordered a 2 piece batter dipped fish meal and the fish tasted different. It was fried crispy but the actual fish didn't taste like their usual fish. It really didn't taste like fish to be honest. I was surprised because I've never had a bad experience here in over 15 years.

They're okay, but the wait is too long. Even when no one is in line. I received some cold corn on the cob with my order one day. I mean ice cold. They clearly need to work on their service. I don't like the Long John Silvers down the street so I have to go all the way to Westmoreland to get fish if I can't get it at Captain D's. Not good at all... .

At the window, I was treated like I was speaking a foreign language. The cashier did not know and the manager just ignored me. When I figured out they have to scan my phone, they rushed me off. I ordered the Supreme sampler, shrimp and hush puppies were cold, I couldn't eat that because I was afraid of getting sick. The chicken strips were tiny and no meat, you would think the cook would have paid more attention to that. Why would you serve someone that's patronizing your business food like that. Basically, I paid $12.55 just to eat two pieces of spicy fish that was suppose to be one spicy and one regular. The receipt clearly stated one spicy. Just wasted money on what I thought was going to be a meal.

They put the chairs up at 830 PM so that people will think they are closed and not come in. I mean they leave a few down in the middle where no one can see but they don't close till 11pm. customers know you aren't supposed to put the chairs up 3 full hours before close Y'all aren't Even high school kids Y'all middle aged women you know better. I don't know why people who work at places like this think the customers never worked fast food or a restaurant. Most people started out at a place like this. their weren't enough restaurants and businesses closed down the last couple of years y'all want the one y'all work at to close too? I bet y'all complain to when y'all don't get enough hours but y'all got one customer on the inside cause y'all try to make the store look closed.

Today was my first time eating here and I was excited about it from reading all the wonderful reviews. The food was very overrated and that’s even with it being fresh! The fish didn’t taste like real catfish & it was super super thin with no seasoning at all, the hush puppies and green beans were ok but the butterfly shrimp wasn’t good either, I’ve had much better with the box coconut butterfly shrimp from Walmart. Now, the Oreo cheesecake was delicious lol but that’s pretty much the only thing that I enjoyed… sad to say! I’ve learned that of course everyone’s taste buds are different but people surely know how to hype stuff up also. It’s safe to say that today was my first and last time ordering from this establishment!

In addition, the price was more expensive than I have ever paid for an individual meal by at least $5.

Normally you are a hit. Today we were unable to hardly eat anything we paid for. Whoever is using the salt! Take it away from them! If you are going to charge extra for Mac n cheese, take the effort to not use velveeta cheese product. It is cheaper in the long run and tastes much better if you prepare it from scratch. $32.00 for salt is ridiculous. Are you trying to kill us with all that sodium? Will not do a repeat at this location and if it happens at another one of your locations, I will be taking it back for a full refund.

My rating has changed because we came in last night for dinner takeout and within 10 mins of eating I was so sick it was unreal. According to the hospital I have food poisoning. We had the deluxe seafood platters. Undercooked food and poor food handling practices NEED to be discussed and handeled before y'all kill somebody ! I was asked if I wanted the extra side of fried shrimp the first one was good so I order more because I was still hungry. And they second round not so much good. In total amount spent there 18 dollars.

NO MORE EATING HERE! I'm NOT WILLING to get food poisoning, because workers, especially the MANAGER, not adhering to health code regulations!

Today I decided to try Captain D’s and went to the one that is located in Duncanville, TX. What a horrible experience it was to walk into a freezing restaurant. That is outrageous. Not only was it twenty eight degrees outside, your heater was out of service but then you also had all your employees working in such bad conditions. The only positive thing I will say about my visit today is that the food was very good and the girl who took my order was nice. I stood there for a few minutes waiting for my food but I would never want anyone else to have to work through such intolerable conditions. I thought of my teenage son who also works as a cashier in a fast food restaurant.

We spent 30.35 and when we got our order it was horrible. The mac and cheese which is a "premium" side. Not a bit of flavor at all. The crab whatever tasted old. The fries didn't even taste good. I was sadly disappointed. I did try and change my order and was offered six fried shrimp! Not one employee knew anything about the menu. This location needs some help. Possible more training I would say!

My husband ordered a family sized okra about 30 min ago and it’s supposed to be a Togo container full of fried okra… they gave us a regular side of okra in a box full of fried batter. Not even the full sized crumbles but the sand like pieces of batter.
