The food has it's day's to be completely honest some days your food is refreshing and fresh and cooked perfectly other days not so much the staff is iffy at times they are often times rude and rush your order and get your order wrong at times and some day's they are wonderful which is why I don't visit here too often

I visited the Cockrell Hill location and the cars were really coming through. As the person sat at the window waiting on their order, Kaitlin helped other customers in the drive through. Kaitlin delivered quick great friendly cutomer service to cutomers in the drive through. Once I got my food, it was cooked fresh and very tasty. Thanks Kaitlin

THE BEST catfish!!! Had to wait almost 15 minutes, and when I got home, there were no rolls, no hush puppies, and no fried okra. Very disappointed in that, but damn good fish.

We called ahead on New Years Day with a large order and were told it would be ready in 12 minutes. Not only was it ready at the promised time but everything was hot and fresh. Employees were very friendly and knowledgeable.

August 12, 2021 I went through the drive-thru on my lunch break a little after 12:15 I order a three-piece tender mix with gravy fries fries a jalapeno pepper and sweet tea. My lunch was incredible good everything was fresh the roll literally melt in my mouth all I can say is kudos to Chicken Express🤗🤗🤗

This chicken express was very clean. The staff is hard workers that take pride in their food and atmosphere. You see laughter and teamwork when you're ordering or waiting on your food. My kids love their chicken, and the fish is great, too. Awesome place. I would highly recommend it.

The staff I encountered were very polite and quick to help you. They were busy but, I didn't have to wait. Very efficient staff, nobody on the phone, nobody standing around- everyone I saw was on task. I'm definitely going back. When I want something good to eat, good staff- this location is where I want to be.

The rolls are so good and the chicken and fish are wonderful. I really think you get a good meal for a great value, and the fountain Coke and sweet tea are something you dont want to miss.

It was one of the best experiences for a Chicken Express. All of our tenders and sides were fresh. The front end was very nice and friendly. Tamika was the nicest person in the world. She was very helpful and made sure our dinning experience was great. Everything was clean,fast and friendly. 2 thumbs up and will be back for sure. This is our new chicken express.

I love this location. They are always friendly. They have a smile for you no matter what or when the drama with another customer. There is usually a line, but it moves fast. I don’t mind the line because the food has always been hot and fresh. I always order the fish fillets.. They cook them fresh and will cook them well done if I ask. There is Christian music playing for you in the lobby while you wait(KLTY 94.9). Thank you for giving us such good service n food.You are appreciated and loved. Blessings to each of you for taking such good care of your customers.

The service was excellent! The front cashier was busy but he did acknowledge me before asking the drive thru cashier(2 puffs) to assist me. She smiled the entire time and was very pleasant! Thank goodness this place was open during this crazy ice storm. I had the pleasure of getting my order taken by Dakota. Listen, this young lady provided the best customer service I have ever received. She didn't rush me while trying to decide. She was extremely courteous over the intercom. When I pulled up to the window she smiled, greeted me and it was obvious she loves the customers. There were a lot of us in the drive thru. Between her and the kitchen they had us out like musical chairs lol. Whoever hired her made a perfect decision. She needs to be the trainer 😉. She represents this company well when no one is looking. Thank you bright shining star, Dakota., I wish I could get you everytime.

I was about to write a bad review and the young lady who was taking my order coming outside and getting people's credit cards and delivering their drinks. She saw this and fixed the issue immediately can't complain about that. Customer service is huge in 2021 for the internet is a big thing.

Ding, Ding, Ding. Forget about Mr. Boo boo review and the other bug in the drink review and realize this. Eat and enjoy or take your food back and get a refund. Or drive away and run down to Cedar Hill. I come here and eat occasionally. Never got sick and food was cooked well done. Not always the best but nonetheless I been happy with my orders. Outside appearance could use a landscape lift. Inside needs minor remodeling. Customer service is so-so but I never experienced mistreatment. Wiping the tables more and mopping up could be adopted for daily appearance. The drive thru can be a little slow. My food was very hot and fresh. Nice creamy gravy with a roll and a batch of hot fried chicken tenders on this side of Mississippi. Get you some!!!!!

It's a young lady that work there she is very rude she act like she don't like people if that's the case this ain't the job you need So let get into detail This day I order two piece chicken and a fish I got the two piece but they forgot to give me my fish ok so go in I was like I never did get my fish I ordered and this cashier had girl attitude or she had a bad day I don't know Second time I went to order a two piece chicken I ask the cashier how long thier chicken been up the guy reply he dont know I am like wow you mean to tell me you don't know how long it been up I I felt my chicken it was cold but you going to tell me you don't know how long it's been up wow ok so the manager was like I am sorry I'll cook some fresh chicken ok cool The third time I had order again a piece chicken and fish and never did get my fish I waited almost 30 for you tell me you gave my fish to someone else wow you'll need do better n when you ask for the corp number they tell me they don't have a corp I like chicken express but they need work on commutation still

Chicken Express had good flavored chicken. I do miss the Express Hot Wings with the bone in that they used to serve. The boneless wings may have the same flavor profile, but nothing doing.

It was not like the other chicken expresses i have been to. Tenders were small...... Service was ok except i asked for Kore okra didn't get charged or get my okra. A lot of people were inside because their orders were wrong. Not a good day i guess

I wish they would be consistent. Mashed potatoes may or may not have gravy. Fish may or may not get tartar sauce. No matter what you say when you order. If you get an adult or a high schooler kid determines what you get. I suggest just hold up the line and check your stuff else you will get all the way home with some dry mashed potatoes, no matter what you order.

I like the food but the line here moves waaaaaay too slow. With 3 cars in front of me it takes over 30/35 minutes to even pay. I have waited over 40 minutes and had to leave the line more than once. I always come around 5 pm. Please someone needs to fix these wait times or I'm not coming back to this location.

I wasn't to wowed by the service of food. I ordered spicy tenders, a 4pc to be exact and they gave me 6 low temperature regular tenders and the gravy was the same. I hope the service will be better in the future. Not a good experience...

When we received our order we asked for ketchup and hot sauce. The girl said "have a nice day" and shut the window and walked away. Gravy was not included. 2 of the rolls were burnt.

Fine for a quick desperate bite, but there are far better chicken restaurants nearby. The meal I ordered was just OK. The chicken was nice and crispy, but the gravy they served with the meal was thick and congealed. Mac and cheese as a side was quite liquidy. Biscuits were good though, if not a little salty.

Terrible wait at the location we went to, young lady that took our order was pretty rude as well. After quite a while waiting in the drive thru a young man came and updated us about the delay said he added a few tenders for our wait which was a plus, we appreciate that. However the lady who took the order set the tone for the negative experience. This was the Duncanville location on Cockrell Hill. Oh and they didn’t have spicy tenders, yay.

After placing and paying for order , we were told it would take 20 minutes,which turned out to be 30. We ordered an 8 piece mixed and only recieved 4 legs and 4 thighs. While waiting , I asked for a cup of water. The guy who got it , grabbed a cup and scooped the ice with his hands as thought this is the normal practice. NEVER GOING BACK.

Arrived at 9pm line was at a stand still, placed order at 9:10p, paid for it at 9:18p received refund at 9:47p. Tell me what’s wrong with the timing. I order the fish every time and waiting time has always been 10-15 min even during lunch time not 30 min or more. I requested a refund, the young today’s she told me the fish had to be cooked; duh, it is known for its chicken all other meat entrees (fish, gizzards and liver) have to be cooked when order is placed. The manager on duty was very friendly and courteous. Once he processed the refund, the order suddenly was ready. He offered it to me but I didn’t want it. Word of advice, train the young staff on drive thru window etiquette; customer can see them just standing around laughing/talking, drinking drinks as if they are on break when they have a line.

Visited your location tonight with the intention of just trying out your food. I was more disappointed in the customer service than I was in the quality of the food. We ordered the 9 gizzard meal and understood that we would have to wait for the order. The young lady in the window repeated the wrong order twice. When we got our meal, there were no napkins in our bag, poppers were cold and the gizzards looked like each gizzard was cut in 2 or 3 peices. Though we were disappointed, we liked the gizzards so we went around in the line again and ordered 9 more with the expectation they just messed up and would do better this time. We asked for the manager and when he came to the window, we aired our dissatisfaction. There was no apology or anything. His comment was that they come pre cut. I soon realize talking to him was futile so we paid for our meal and let👎👎👎

Went Sunday afternoon through Drive Thru. Chicken was barely warm & Okra was cold. The only thing hot was the Corn Nuggets. This use to be a very good place, but the last few times, not so much. Pretty disappointed.

First time here and chicken looked okay. The taste didnt compare to Churches or Popeyes but it was decent. The downfall was no napkins, bag or utensils for my sides. Not a place I will revisit.

Never had any issues here. Always good meals,sides,etc. However, why is it @5pm on a Tuesday your (supposedly) completely out of Chicken Wings? Because they all went to a big order. When that big order came in, you should have taken the time to put more down. Insted we get "oh no, we don't have any cooking right now & it will be another 20 mins". Insted we have to settle for a different meal. Maybe if this day crew would puck up the pace that wouldn't happen in the future.

Ordered the 16 piece mixed chicken, family fries, 3 large teas. Got home and the chicken was either burnt or was cooked in old grease. Either way, it was dry and dark. We called and they said to please bring it back and they would replace it. Took the chicken back and they gave me some more chicken. I get home and what they gave me were 14 wings and 2 legs. SMDH...Sooo disappointed. Not even Chicken Express quality.

Horrible experience. I had to wait a very long time for the food and then they told me I had to wait 8 more minutes because the young man that took my order forgot to tell the cook to drop the fish. Fish was burnt. Service was terrible. Never had this experience at ANY Chicken Express. My dogs get my snack. Pitiful. The young lady at the window was frustrated. But when I smiled at her it helped her have a better moment.

I think looking into the kitchen and watching the person handling all the food with his mask down to his chin talking with the other employees in a pandemic while the other employees also have their masks pulled down was the highlight of my day. Here's hoping I don't get sick! Wish me luck! Maybe encourage employees to actually WEAR their masks instead of pretend to would be a good practice. I won't be coming back to this Location.

My name is diamond shorter I’m no longer an employee as of today I found out at 930pm by Deion 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒚𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒖𝒔𝒆. he’s been harassing me since I’ve been at chicken express which is 4 months took me maybe 3 months to get on direct deposit . Deion also steals and give out free food to anybody that’s a female. I’ve been wrote up multiple times by DEION WHOS HARASSED ME TO SIGN THE WRITE UPS. I’ve also been picked on no other employee is picked on anytime I say I’ll call bill or dale he tries to fix the issue and it’s unfixable. I’ve spoken to dal as well about Deion wrote how I felt unsafe on his shift and all they both just get DRUNK AND TALK ABOUT EMPLOYEES. I’ve also met bill and I don’t think he knows what’s really going on in his store.

Chicken Express has great chicken (worth coming for even though the sides can all be minimally counted as food) BUT this location is terrible. Order is wrong 9/10 no matter what day or time of day. I worked in food service for a long time and I have a hard time even understanding how it's possible to screw up as often as this location does. I'm done.

Normally when I go here I always have a good experience but this time was terrible. Line was long and extremely slow. I ordered tenders and fries was given multiple boxes of rolls. The drive was too far to go back after discovering the mistake.

In the drive thru for 30 mins. before I pulled up to order. When I made my order you tell me I have to wait 15 more mins. for white meat. You should have started cooking more when your supply of chicken was getting low!

I took my family to dinner at chicken express today 03/20/2016 tihis is not the first time I have had a problem at this store. The lady at registered got our order wrong took it back and told her it was wrong and she said no thats what you ordered and I told her no my husband does not like white meat and he was supposed to have a 2piece dark meat and they gave us 6piece tenders. She did not show any concern. I ask if there was a manager on duty and she turned and the lady just smiled and did not come to counter and acknolage me she looked very nasty. She needs to ware a long sleeve blouse and cover her nasty tatoos. customers dont want to see all that. The manager needs to get some training and her checkers. Needless to say we want be back. And I will tell every one not to go to the Kaufman Store again.

The portions on my 4 piece combo seemed really tiny. I trusted the nutritional info on the website and took the appropriate insulin for this meal, and now have a very low blood sugar. Type 1 Diabetics and hungry people, beware of them shorting you.

Went there tonight and the girl at the window kept saying is that all, like she tired of being there. Spent $88 and they gave us half cups of drinks, one of my fries only had enough fries for two small kids, didn't get the other fry until I check my order and let her know it was miss and then she tells me there is a three min wait. This was the worst experience I've ever had with them. Had to remind her to give the sweet tea that comes with the tender order.

Customer service was terrible. 2 elderly customers waited for their order while everyone else got there's first. They asked for the manager who proceeded to tell them he doesn't normally do this but he will compensate them for their wait. I wk with the public for 19 years and I value good customer service. This was my first time being there I was very surprised to see your manager handle the situation that way. 8 associates working!

Horrible. The worst tasting chicken I've ever eaten. It was bland no flavor at all. I ordered okra and asked the young lady if it was in the box before I drove off. Well I pulled over and it was not in the box. I went back to get my missing food. As I sat in line waiting the young lady brings me a box. Needless to say, when I got home, I was given poppers instead of okra. Workers were in the restaurant running and chasing each other. The lady at the window who gave me the wrong item at least she was working. This restaurant really doesn't deserve a star.

We waited in the drive through line for 15 minutes after ordering #5 6 gizzards, fries & a drink. When we got to the window, I paid for the meal & got my drink. Then Carolyn said, "It'll be 4 to 5 minutes before your gizzards are done, is that ok? " I told her that we had already been waiting 15 minutes after we placed the order & I already paid for my meal, so I guess so. She said, "The cook just dropped them!" She asked me to pull up front & I did. We waited an additional 15 minutes, before I got out the car & went into the store. I then asked the young man that was filling orders if my order was ready. Then Carolyn looked at me & then went back in the corner at the drive through. The manager came over & GUESS WHAT! Those livers were just sitting in a tray! She just filled my order & said so you want some chicken? NO, I don't want any chicken! I want you to AT LEAST APOLOGIZE & THEN give a resolution! We have visited your restaurant a couple time and usually enjoy the food. But the last time was really bad. As I was standing in line to place an order I noticed that one of your food prepares had his pants below his butt and could see his under clothes it wasn't something I enjoyed seeing a food handler doing . The cashier was rudd while we were trying to give our order and made us wait for several minutes after asking us what we wanted and asking us for a third time , we got tired of the bad service and food handler and left.

It took them forever to give me my food. I literally waited for 35 minutes in the drive-thru waiting for my food and when I finally got it. It look like they just threw everything in there like there were rushing but yet it took them 35 minutes. They pretty much had all the time in the world and everything still looked awful. Chicken Express is good, I would just tell people not to go to that location.

Food cooked fast but had a smell to it. Two young employees seemed. Like they had an attitude. Not the route to go for tips. And don't take what your going through out on others. I will never be going to chicken express again . Seems like the best option is to either throw the food away or give it to someone in need of food. I just don't want anyone else to get sick . Check your foods smell before eating it . Bad employee attitude makes me even more sceptical about eating the food as well. Stop selling yesterdays chicken and order a new truck asap for they close y'all down . Only thing I can suggest from here is a gallon of tea

May 25, 2019 * 1 star because negative isn't an option 5pm on Saturday - Final visit. Been going here FOR YEARS & tonight after dropping $40 on food including a gallon of tea, we're told we have to pay for ice! That's NEVER happened in the past & the guy claims its policy for the last 2 years. Ridiculous! Up until today, they handed us cups of ice (small ones naturally) for each person in our group, 4-8 on average. The cashier, Years, was new (hopefully) or a complete waste of space! She made us repeat everything 2 or 3 times & still got stuff wrong. Order was correct, they had the food available, & it was great! But the service & paying for ice to go with drinks you bought there, was ridiculous! Bring back the owner from 5 years ago - he made sure everyone was trained & didn't charge for ice in cups for drinks you bought there! You just lost 4 families that average $35-$50 on food every other week or so. Hope that precious ice & no so trained cashier were worth it. April 13, 2019 * 1 star 7pm on a Saturday - no breasts or thighs. Only needed 2 or 3 of one of them, only had wings & legs up with 7-8 cars in the drive thru. Why? Closing at 9-10pm means being PREPARED for that business as it comes in! Went elsewhere to eat. Feb 2019 - ***** 5 stars Wonderful service - unless you order gizzards, then they can't seem to differentiate between gizzards & livers. Shocking surprise when a to-go order! Tea is fresh, rolls are wonderful (but greasy), biscuits are tasty, okra is always the right crunch & temperature, & service is GREAT!

Took the family size tender meal home and found out that half the sides were burnt black. How is it acceptable to charge people for this inedible junk? It's not like they didn't notice they were giving us burnt food. The okra is like charcoal. We would have taken it back except we already spent 20 minutes in line waiting for it. Never again.

This WAS my FAVORITE location! I USE to drive 10 miles just to come here (no, every location’s taste/texture is NOT the same). I went to the Drive-up window at 10:20pm. By the time I made it to the speaker it was only 10:30; they close at 11:00pm. I ordered fish—which I generally do—and it’s usually a 3 to 5-minute wait. She came back to the speaker and said, “We ain’t dropping no mo fish tonight.” I responded, “Thank you,” and politely ‘pulled out of my lane’...so I’m dropping this review and will be dropping my patience and money at Red Lobster a couple of blocks down the road from now on. Thank you 😊

Save your time and money! Customer service lacks tremendously! Then when I voiced my concern to the “manager” he told me “ I was reading the wrong book”. Whatever that means ! Food was cold not fresh, no silverware w mp. No GRAVY on mp. I had to use the tender gravy to put on top. The drive through person was so rude & rushing so fast she didn’t even ask “biscuit or roll” I guess I looked like I needed a roll because that’s what I got. One star

Please ensure your business hours are accurately reflected. If closing time is 10 PM, management should update the posted hours to avoid customer inconvenience and discrepancies with online listings. Sitting in a line just to be told "we're closed" once we make it to the speaker at 10, but online it says 11 was a waste of my time. I hate places that hold the line until closing. I didnt arrive after 10 either,thats how long and slow the line was. I literally haven't ate chicken express in years,and after this it'll be a few more!

I normally don’t write reviews. Complaining is rare. Tonight Chicken Express sucked! Hey franchise owner, fix your business. Chicken tenders I normally are usually on point. Not tonight. End of shift means we get old sorry chicken. For the record, I ordered food with more than an hour left until close. Drive thru usually is slow. This location is flagrantly slow. Fine. But nearly thirty minute’s slow? Hey franchise owner your business practice is disrespectful. Paying $16 for a few pieces of stale old chicken and inedible fries soaked in grease and God knows what else is a special kind kind of arrogance. Hey franchise owner do better. Everyone who pays for this food deserves quality. That’s the minimum. When food quality is terrible AND service sucks for no reason that’s bad news. I’m more than willing to share bad news. People y’all have been warned.

I always order the #1 Tenders Combo. Last night (8/16/24, 6:20pm) I opened the box and the tenders looked like a box of scraps!! They were small and thin, dry inside, mostly just a bunch of crunchy fried batter. My husband couldn’t even chew them. If this is what they’re serving now, I need to know so I can cross them off my list of takeout. Not wasting $11.47 on scraps again.

We tried to come today at 10:25 which would be 35 minutes before closing time and they refused to serve us stating they were closed. Coming from a long time service worker/server that is unacceptable and just lazy work. If it was 5-10 even 15 minutes before I would be more understanding but more than half way to an hour before closing is not okay. Wasted our time thinking we could get service since it’s listed they close at 11:00.

Although a year ago I had given this same location a great review with 5 stars I am having to change my rating this location. The service has gotten extremely slow. Only 1 person in line when we walked in. Took 10 minutes before we'r could place our order. Almost 15 minutes to receive it. They have a new spicy tender that has no spice to it at all, they have cheese sticks that the employees have no I do what marinara sauce is and you only get 2 cheese sticks with your order rather than 4 as everybody else gets. And the 2 sticks were flavorless. In order to have any flavor for my spicy tenders, I had to dip them in the gravy of which I do not like gravy. All in all this location has gone downhill. Even their fries are a different recipe and although they are decent, they are not the same fries they used to have just one year. Macaroni and cheese looks cheesy, but tastes like plain pasta. But hey, there rolls are still excellent. Not sure I'm ready to right off all these locations, but I will NOT be returning to this one any time soon.

Waited in the drive thru for 20 minutes for a flat Dr Pepper & cheese sticks that were literally empty (no cheese to be found). I literally just threw my money away coming to this place. The fries were good and the cashier was nice but those are the only positive things I can say about my experience. I will never be back to this place even if it was the last place to eat on earth. I pull up to the speaker took about 15 minutesbefore I got my order taken there were no cars in line & still got my order wrong the food look like it had been sitting there under the heat lamp for awhile it was old & dried out even the fries the only thing was worth paying for was my drink😞

The young man running the drive thru window on the 23 at 9 pm needs to be trained. We pulled up and he came over the speaker and mumbled something about us ordering. I ordered my spouses meal and before I could even finish getting the words out of my mouth he came back in shouting words I couldn’t quite understand. We finally clarified the side for her meal and the drink and he shouted, “ THAT IT?!” I replied that we needed a roll for her meal. He then told me to pull up. I told him I hadn’t finished yet and tried to order my meal. He never came back on after about 3 minutes and I noticed the cars had all pulled up and now I’m holding up the line growing behind me. I decided that any further attempts to get my food order would be met with resistance so I just paid for my spouses order and patiently waited. He came out the window with the payment machine and I tapped it and it went through. He just stood there with the payment machine in my face. I told him it went through and he handed us my spouses box and closed the window. After another minute he came back out and said “DID YOU NEED SOMETHING?!” I replied yes we had a sweet tea with her order. He said he didn’t know. I finally said “ well I was going to order more but you cut me off at the box and never let me order”. He replied “Have a blessed day”. So I ended up having to go elsewhere for my meal. I don’t know if he was on drugs or what but he wasn’t listening and acting normal in anyway. New to the area and will never try this chicken express again. It’s a shame.

They overcooked my meal and forgot to give me one of my sides. The store ran out of all their sides except for fries, corn nuggets, and poppers. This was my worst experience at a Chicken Express.

Ordered two number ones. Got to my destination to eat. Opened the box to find two pieces of chicken and half fries. Called and spoke with Aaron who told me he would give me two tenders on my next return. Wow. Thanks for fulfilling my order. Now that’s customer service at its best! It’s no wonder there were no cars in the drive through. Now, I know why. Last time you will get my money.

Wow, I cant believe this place is open. I bought food for my family with my hard earned money and I get fried molded food. Not only did they forget things that I ordered they are frying molded food. I got Liver and Gizzards, when I bit into the liver it tasted horrible, then I saw what I thought was a pepper, (it was green meat), then I started to open up all of the livers in the box and they were all green meat on the inside and smelled like a dead body. Wow what a waste of money and I shared it with my kids before i ate because they never tried fried liver and they said it was terrible, I thought they were exaggerating, nope they are trying to kill us. Cook at home, and abandone that Chicken Express on Cokrell Hill, they need to be closed down and owe me my money back.

Not only did it take super long but the place was nasty inside. You can see from the drive thru door trash everywhere and can full. Aaron the manager offered free food but I just wanted to give input on service. He blamed the staff and was rude on receiving customer input. Sania the cashier wiped her nose and grabbed both orders before she gave them to the customers. One star for hot tenders (original). Even though the other half were cold as ice (Spicy). Would strongly recommend you go to another establishment. They lost me.
