The food was fantastic and the service was great. Some of the best wings I have ever had. If you’re going to stop here for lunch order the wings as an appetizer there’s enough for three people. The burger I had was also delicious and cooked to perfection
This place was amazing it was me and my fiancés first time here. The food was phenomenal we got the ribs and the cajun chicken pasta. It was great and our server Payton was energetic, lively and brought the whole mood up in this place and was very welcoming. He was also a good in conversation and he makes us want to come back!!!
When you walk in the door you are greeted with the smells of roasting chicken. As you are seated, you walk past turning spits of roasted chicken over flames and neat stacks of firewood reminding you that the woodfired aspect is not just a name. The atmosphere is bustling yet intimate. Great date spot. Good, American style food done well. Definitely a couple steps above the proverbial 'millennial burger joint.'
Visiting MN and I've been here twice in the span of 2 weeks ☺️. It's worth the wait. Make sure to sit near the fire and watch the rotisserie chicken being cooked to perfection!
I didn't prepare my self for such a nice time for my mom's 82ND birthday. But could not been more blown away by the wonderful menu, chef, staff, and above it all the FOOD!!!!! We all 8 of us by the way, we all ordered different items and not 1 bad dish in the bunch.
Damn good wings! Smoked and flavored the barn no sandwich was amazing will be back. The chicken overall is worth coming back for again and again
Came after 9pm for half off apps ($2 off the wings). Great food, especially the wings! Calamari and the Chicken flatbread were great too. Meatballs were decent but a little bland for us (we’re from Louisiana 🤷🏻♂️). Walleye was very tasty. Our first time here, we were recommended by a friend who lives nearby, and we would happily return!
This was a gem with such fresh food. They are known for their homemade rotisserie chicken and that’s what I got. There were a handful of gluten friendly options and I think I picked the best one! We went on a Saturday night and it was very crowded. I’d recommend making a reservation or being prepared to wait a bit!
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The food is 10/10, the atmosphere is interesting (Woodfire rotisserie out in the open), and even the music is at the perfect volume. Two things you need to do! 1. Bring a sweater it's cold 2. Make a reservation This place is amazing, and everyone knows. We went at 11:40am (they open at 11 am) on a Wednesday very thankful we had a reservation, it was packe.
Ww had an amazing first time here celebrating our anniversary. The waitress was so kind and personable. Make sure you get the Wings as an Appetizer. Steaks are seasoned and delicious flavor. Their small salads are good portions too. We were too full for desseet but some scrumptious dessert choices too!
What a great place to eat. First time diners. Grover rolled out the red carpet and took great care of our family. Great drink/meal suggestions. 10/10. Meatballs, pork belly, hanger steak, halibut, cheesecake and mudslide pie. 4 hour drive from South Dakota and I would come back for the pie and mango 🥭 beer. Thanks DooLittles, you knocked it out of the park. ⚾
This place was an unexpected to find on our trip through Minneapolis. you were hit by an amazing smoke smell as soon as you walk through the door. The steak was one of the best stuff I've ever had in my life.
Food was amazing. The next time we go I'll be ordering thr half rotisserie chicken. Chicken in the Cajun pasta was so juicy and tender. Walleye had this nice crispy crust and really nice sides. Only complaint was a wish there had been more chicken in the pasta. Came up super stuffed!
What a unique experience you walk through the front doors and around the podium there's a wood fire burning right there cooking today's meal open before everyone pretty awesome.
My personal favorite restaurant. It's classy, cozy, and casual. Get the wings. Get the Luxardo. Catch happyhour before close for the deals.
Our daughter recently moved to Eagan. On our first visit we wanted something different, yet not too pricey. Saw Doolittles a couple of miles away and the reviews brought us in! The service was fantastic. Warmly greeted by the server. A short wait at 3:00pm. The server was friendly, helpful, and conversationally appropriate. The food-different and scrumptious fare not like other restaurants. Woodfire buffalo wings were a huge and delicious appetizer (the leftovers were even tastier reheated at home)! The bacon and smoked cheddar burger was a familiar yet different taste. It was cooked perfectly (and again tasted wonderful reheated at home). However, the Shrimp and Peach Flatbread was outstanding. Ordered as a main course, it was a nice, thin flatbread. And who would have thought shrimp on top of peaches would be the highlight of the night. A wonderful tasteful symphony that we will try and reproduce at home—though I’m sure we won’t be as successful as Doolittles!! You must come here. You won’t be disappointed—get a reservation if you want to dine at peak mealtime.
We love coming here! The food is consistently great and so is the service. The wild rice soup and the grilled pear & raspberries salad are my favorite. Marcus was our server tonight. Talk about high class service! We will certainly be back. ******* On today’s visit I ordered a new item on the menu: Masa Bowl with the grilled shrimp. It was delicious!!!
It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio, and Doolittles has plenty of seating inside & out. I ordered the halibut, and it was outstanding - burst of flavors with the lemon cream sauce and pesto, and cooked just right. The fish was flaky and tender. I asked for green beans instead of potatoes, but my friend got the potatoes as listed on the menu.
Wonderful atmosphere and great service. The star here is meat cooked over a woodfire on a spit. The smoke taste is amazing! This place also has my favorite hamburger around. It is more expensive than a chili's but the really make you feel it is worth it. If I want a nice place to celebrate an special occasion this is my go to place.
I am super impressed with this restaurant! It has such an exquisite menu with a beautiful look! This place has such a great atmosphere! You guys have done amazing with the place and staff and we had such a special night! We will definitely be returning for more! Thank you for such a great experience and for the fantastic food!
We enjoyed our visit yesterday 😊 one of the best experiences we ever had in a restaurant. Jesse our server made our dining experience a joy. Food was excellent! They have a variety of drinks too. Best wings you can eat there 😊👌
Had a birthday party here, and it was great. I remember coming for my dad's birthday years back, and the food is just as good. I got the wood fire buffalo wings. And it was amazing!!! Also, a great amount to be a meal for me :). My family also really enjoyed their food. The staff was really nice as well. Food: around $20 worth every bite 😋 Drinks: alcoholic $12 really refreshing (blueberry Mojito) Party: call in advance for party's over 7 just to be sure to get a spot. Make sure not to bring outside food like a cake unless you want to pay a $1.50 cutting fee.
I love their wood fire chicken! I've gotten so many dishes here and never have been disappointed. During my last visit I got Flying Tiger Chicken & Peapods and a cup of their butternut squash soup. Everything tasted great and our server Andi is the best! My only complaint is that they no longer serve the rosemary bread on the side, but the french bread is good too. This has always been my favorite go-to spot and I hope that they never close down. Their lunch specials are good too.
OMG!!! We were told to stop by and definitely taste the chicken wildrice soup. So happy we listened 10/10 the Coleslaw (eyerollingly good) our waitress was the absolute best Vanessa she recommended so many items on that menu, how couldn't we try the way she described you had to order.... and we did, lol . Will definitely be back next visit!!!
Great place to dine in,anytime. Rotisserie chicken 🐔 was very good, fresh and tasty. I had fries on the side, they were hot , fresh and tasty. Any day, best meal and known for great service.
We usually come for the steak, burgers or wings. Service and food is always good, but we had Ivan tonight and his service was exceptional and refreshing! We ended up getting an old fashioned and a desert for the first time. The Mudslide pie was worth it!
Over the last 20 years, we’ve enjoyed many a wonderful dinner or lunch at Doolittles Woodfire Grill. It’s been nice to have the patio these last two summers for safe outdoor dining and enjoying American food. They do a good job of updating the menu with new seasonal items and keeping their standard entrees available. It’s really fun to see the action – the roasting chicken. We’ve been there with larger parties of 10 prior to COVID and they seated us in immediately. That may be in part because we had a reservation and most of our party arrived right on time. The Roasted Chicken and rib dishes are superb as well as the Fish Tacos, and Roasted Pear & Walnut Salad. The potato fingers are a remarkable side – seasoned perfectly. I love a fresh fall squash soup; to my taste, they serve the very best rendition. The Blueberry mojito's are amazing! They include generous portions of mint and lime, so the flavors are truly rich and complete each other. A true favorite! For those who want to select a beer with their meal, which is definitely NOT my taste, the staff is good at offering two samples that help with beverage selections. If you like desert, they serve a great carrot cake and have a new Roasted Banana Bread Pudding on the menu. Almost always we’ve been very pleased with our server! Parking is ample. When someone in our party was there on crutches, the reception staff was quick and courteous to come hold the door open. An ideal place for family outings. The prices are reasonable.
Made a reservation for a work dinner and it did not disappoint. Vanessa was a tremendous server, very knowledgeable of the menu and making recommendations, and popped in appropriately as our group was chatting. I had the Salmon with Herb Cream and was not expecting it to be as delicious as it was. I'm not a fan of brussel sprouts, but they made an easy substitute to asparagus instead and I'm so happy they were able to make that accommodation. Would absolutely recommend and we'll definitely return the next time we're on this side of town.
One of my favorite places to get BBQ ribs, and the cajun chicken pasta is soooo creamy and delicious, we order it every time. Lines might get long during rush hours but nothing crazy, usually 15-20mins waiting without reservation.
We dined with a group of six on a Saturday night. It was packed. Our table was ready at our reservation time. Service was only a tad bit slow considering how many guests were seated. Our server did a great job. We had the calamari for an appetizer and it was good. I had the salmon with bacon jam and fingerling potatoes. Delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. It was somewhat loud environment but still a good experience.
We each had the Ribye. It was cooked perfectly. The seasoning was great.. not too much to cover the wonderful taste of the cut of meat. Our sides were also good. They have LOTS of local beer in house.
Best food in Eagan! I’ve been coming here for years, so happy that you’re open today. My only complaint over the years is getting rid of the aviation-themed menu. But the food has been consistently good. I love the walleye fingers and half-chicken & mashed potato’s! And the bacon cheeseburger, salad, and beer selection!
I don't do reviews, but here we go. I walked in past the rotisserie wood fired chicken and sat down for a drink. I wasn't hungry, but I couldn't resist. The smell was that good. I asked my bartender Mary for a small bite sample. She said their wings are the best she'd had. First of all, they're full wings. Tip, flat and drum in one. Secondly, they were AWESOME. You get eight, I think. I just had 5-8 as leftovers in an air fryer, and even those were the BEST wings I ever had. Now I have to try to top that at home. My hobby. My problem.
I had my birthday lunch here today, courtesy of my s/o. The Rib & Chicken Platter had me begging for more. We love the fries especially!
Doolittle's smells great from outside, and doesn't disappoint inside. Woodfire grilled chicken is awesome, but ribs seemed like they were lacking in porkiness. Options up and down the menu from handhelds to steaks. Good options for the vegetarian also. My girl wanted me to dress up, but hostess and servers wear jeans so don't bother.
This was our first time visiting Doolittle's. We were in Eagan and my husband googled "restaurants with vegetarian options " and made a reservation over the phone for 7:45 pm, which was the earliest available on short notice for a Saturday. We showed up and hour and a half early because we ran out of stuff to do, and we were able to wait at the bar. My husband got Makers Mark and I had a beautiful and tasty mocktail. The staff got us a table right away next to the fireplace in the back. Unfortunately, there wasn't a fire in it that night, so there was a cold draft, but the atmosphere was otherwise very good. Our waiter helped us choose the perfect appetizer and dishes. My husband had chicken and ribs, and I had the impossible burger with mozzarella and pesto. I especially recommend the butternut sqash soup.
Lindsey was our waitress, she is friendly, professional, and warm. My husband and I loved our meals. Highly recommend the Cajun Chicken Pasta and Mesa Bowl. We also took to go the Ribs and Chicken combo with green beans and mashed potatoes. So much flavor in the chicken, also juicy. Mashed potatoes had a perfect amount of butter, flavor, and consistency. Overall amazing!
I’ve been to this restaurant at least a half-dozen times now, and my experiences have ranged from great to just okay. With that said, I’ll share some of my favorite parts of dining here and a few things I’ve noticed over the course of my visits. One thing that stands out is that the service isn’t always consistent. The only times I can say it’s been truly great were when we specifically asked for Ivan, who does an outstanding job and is a character. There’s also a female server I can’t recall her name for the life of me but she is very good as well. On the flip side, a couple of other times the service wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t quite up to par either. The host stand, though, is almost always excellent. The ladies there are welcoming and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Only once did I have a hostess who seemed off her game, moving us around to different tables because they weren’t clean or no one was covering that section. Still, most of the time, they set the right tone for the evening. As for the restaurant itself, the decor has a nice, somewhat romantic vibe, and the food has been consistently good on every visit. It’s definitely become one of our go-to spots. Another plus is that there’s plenty of parking, which is always a relief. On my most recent visit, a manager even came over to introduce himself and check if we needed anything. That was a nice surprise and made the experience feel more personal. Now, for the cons. Service tends to slip if we don’t happen to get one of the more seasoned servers. The wings also aren’t consistent—sometimes they come out perfect, other times they’re a little pink. Since that seems to be the usual way they serve them, I think it would be better if they asked guests if that’s okay rather than just assuming. Also, be prepared to wait if you come on a weekend or even a weekday after 5 PM, because it fills up fast. All in all, my wife and I have enjoyed our visits and learned what times and days work best for us to get our favorite staff and avoid the long waits. Between the good food, the nice atmosphere, and a few stand out servers, it’s worth coming back even if there are a few inconsistencies here and there.
Like the vibe and warm service here! Dishes I recommend: Parmesan Spinach Artichoke dip, buffalo wings, and the salmon. I didn't care for the chimichurri on the steak that I ordered but that could be due to personal preference. Overall great experience!
Smoked rotisserie chicken FTW! A couple of us split the chicken sandwich made with their fresh smoked chicken and it was delicious! We Laos ordered the calamari, and some ribs. The sauce on the ribs was surprising spicy (vs sweet) and the ribs were well done. If you are looking for some smoked rotisserie/wood fire goodness stop in and check em out.
Usually I enjoy the food at Doolittle’s- their butternut squash soup is fantastic! But during my most recent visit, I had the basil pesto burger. It sounded good, but the execution was off. The bottom bun became soggy, and the thick slice of grilled red onion was overpowering. I wouldn’t order that again. The patio is lovely. (Not Doolittles’ fault that people blast their speakers as they drive by.)
Came here for Father’s Day and they were packed. The host greeted us and got us a table within minutes. The classic cheese burger was nice and juicy, the ribeye steak with fingerling potatoes. The wood fire wings is a must as well as the cream of wild rice soup. Wings are roasted to perfection. The star of the meal was oven roasted Alaskan Halibut over hash of artichoke hearts, red bell pepper, fingerling potatoes, onion & arugula, lemon cream, basil pesto aioli. Our waitress told us that it would smell fishy but would not taste like it and she was right. The halibut was delicate and moist. The basil pesto aioli paired very well. The arugula gave the dish a freshness.
Solid food and great service. Step inside for million dollar smells. Burgers, Cubano, walleye fingers, wings and French dip, absolutely wonderful. Our waitstaff Allison was wonderful as well, super nice and on it. Good drink menu, taps, cans, wine, and liquor pours. Don't forget dessert, mocha ice cream pie. This place is definitely on the return visit list.
Had a wonderful dinner and Tina was an awesome server! Had a party of 7 and they sqeezed us in immediately. Chicken and rib dishes were great as well as the squash ravioli and chicken, roasted pear and walnut salad. Blueberry mojito's were amazing!
Been coming here since it was Doolittles Air Cafe when they opened in 89. Always make it a point to stop when I am in town and caught the 1/2 off apps and cheap drinks 9-close happy hour, can’t be beat. Wings were 🔥 with blue cheese and the bartender was attentive.
Food was good, nothing to rave about. The service was a miss. Our server wasn't friendly or attentive, but we still gave a good tip. Didn't get pictures of our entrees because the experience was that bad. We probably won't be back but glad we gave it a try.
Went on Valentine’s Day making a reservation the morning of on their website. Got there at our scheduled time, no reservation found, accommodated still. Make sure to call reservations in. Went during happy hour, best time to taste menu. Our host/waiter was a host/waiter, explained menu, recommended beverages, took our order. The noise level in here is wild in the bar section. It’s a quaint restaurant with a fireplace in the back. That had available seating and would have been nice to be offered. First time here though, maybe it was for reservations… 😥 didn’t notice until the end as we faced away from it. (Sat next to each other) 2/5 Got the blueberry mojito and woodford raspberry manhattan. Tasty juicy cocktails. That’s it. 2.5/5 We obtained Woodfire Buffalo wings first. They came out in like three minutes, they have these READY TO GO! Piping hot! Fresh off the press! The taste was a sweet hot sauce, wouldn’t give it hot honey, more Smokey spicy mesquite. No real crispiness to the exterior. Fantastic cook! Fall off the bone! Decent uniformed sized wings. Paired with the blue cheese and ranch, which were excellent, I’d eat em again. 3.5/5 Next was the Fettuccine with shrimp. It’s fettuccine with shrimp, and a big leaf on the top. Add salt and pepper to your liking and It will satisfy your Alfredo fettuccine craving. Would not order again. 2/5 The salmon with cream sauce pulled up next. It was aight once you add your salt and pepper. The Brussel sprouts overwhelm the dish, making the cream sauce lackluster. The jam was decent, with the salmon which has a crispy exterior making for a good texture pairing. Would not order again. 2/5 For dessert, crème brûlée. Its decent. Nice and light, flavor not too rich, top perfectly crisped. Would order once in a blue moon. 2.5/5 Overall Doolittles is aight. Cute place for a date night or by yourself that has decent food. 2.5/5 I’ll round up though.
We were hoping for a better experience. The outdoors seating is next to a busy street so we had a hard time hearing other people at our table. Our server Oskar didn’t give any recommendations so we ordered the ribs. We later overheard another server suggest the wood fire chicken. When the ribs came to out to our table they were dry, tough and flavorless.. We will be back to try the chicken.
Food was average at best! Had the 8oz tenderloin and although it was cooked to my liking, it was very bland, no flavor whatsoever!!! Server was ok, seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. Also had a swarm of flies at our table, seated indoors, and 2 of them went into our drinks!!!!
My chicken was half done I sent it back to the kitchen twice. Third time it come back half done I give up. I ordered the rib and chicken combo. My ribs was dry like they had been set out for a minute. I don't know high skill as it's supposed to be, I just expected more, but my service was awesome and the manager was amazing.
