We stopped by this eatery on a Saturday afternoon. The waitress, was friendly, and attentive. I ordered the salad with roasted chicken breast, and my husband, ordered the double bacon cheeseburger with fries. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. The prices were fair. We enjoyed our experience, and will most likely visit this restaurant in the future.

Stopped for fuel at the Chevron station and saw the sign for Red Star Cafe. Service was excellent, the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans on the side hit the spot. The peach cobbler rounded the meal out well. Highly recommend this cafe if you are in the area. Kudos to the chef too.,

Family with young kids stopping here for a very early Saturday breakfast while on the road. Food was delicious, everyone liked what they got and couldn’t finish the portions(!) Waitress did everything with a smile. Bathrooms were big and clean. When we left at 8:30 every table was full. New favorite stop heading west out of DFW! Jalapeños grits👌

First time here, just passing through. The food and service was excellent. Will definitely stop in when I pass through again. You have to try the cheesy Jalapeño grits.

Wow! What a great lunch today. This place is a good place to go if your hungry. Lots of things to choose from & the plates are so full. Home cooking at its finest! Definitely recommend this restaurant.

I have been traveling through that area and stopped by two times. Both times the food was AMAZING! The atmosphere was great, the staff are very friendly. All the desserts are homemade and delicious.

Uhmmm…ridiculous good. H.Steak seasoned and cooked perfect (I added grilled jalapeños). Homemade fries were great! Nothing was too salty- very flavorful. Chef did an awesome job and service was the best you could ask for. Made it a great experience.

This is a great place to take a break from the road if your traveling between Ft. Worth and Abilene on I-20. It is located next to the Chevron station on the exit for Eastland. The menu covers all your hometown diner favorites for breakfast and lunch and also includes a wonderful assortment of homemade desserts. The food is very tasty, served in large proportions, is reasonably priced, and is served promptly by a friendly staff. There is a daily special for lunch which includes a meat dish, potatoes and a vegetable, all for $13. It was Friday so I got a healthy and quite tasty serving of meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn for the daily special. This place by far beats any truck stop or other roadside eatery that I have recently visited. Along with travelers, this place appears to be very popular with the locals.

When we realized this was in a gas station we almost didn’t go in, but glad I trusted the reviews. Very clean. Good simple home cooking. Huge chicken fry’s and yummy looking omelets. I had the crispy chicken sandwich on the jalapeño roll, so good! Chicken was seasoned and breaded to perfection and SO juicy! Definite hidden gem. All their cakes looked scrumptious too. Waitress was Sarah and she was great. They were very busy for a late lunch crowd but they kept everyone satisfied!

Had a great dinner here. I can't say enough good things about this small dinner. Chicken fried steak was delicious and could cut it with my fork! My wife had the Texas cheese steak and really enjoyed it. If you are traveling on I-20 in west Texas, and need a good meal then this is the best place to grab a good meal. Also wait staff provided great service to us! Will definitely be stopping in again soon!

We stopped by here for a quick breakfast and it was really good. I was expecting a "Truck Stop" experience but that was NOT the case. This little cafe was very clean and had a good selection of breakfast items at very reasonable prices. The service was great and friendly.

We had breakfast here last Sunday and everything was good so we decided to come back today. Our waitress Sara was great. Everything else was a total failure. Waited 20-30 minutes, food was cold, eggs were over cooked, sausage & biscuits were not fresh. My wife's order was similar to mine and had the same results. There was a placard on the table with a QR code asking for a review. While I was writing this review, Sara came to get our plates and asked about our meal. I told her the same thing I wrote here. She apologized repeatedly and I assured her she was great and had no control over what happens in the kitchen. She returned shortly and told us the kitchen manager sends their apologies and our entire meal was comped. She also stated that the cook was new and for us to please come back and give them another chance which we plan to do. Even though our waitress Sara was 5 stars I gave an overall 3 stars because I was here for the food.
