Comfort food. A must have whenever in the area. El Monte is blessed with two locations, and a third nearby in BP. Irreplicable salsa verde. Great on everything. I even have it with the sweet tamales.

Horrible service, I walked in yesterday 1/24, there were 3 people ahead of me and 2 people behind me, I ordered a burrito to go, my number was 22, they were already calling 23 and 24, I approached the counter and asked where my order was? A different girl was at the pick up counter, said there was no order for #22? I showed her my receipt and still had to stand there for an additional 10 minutes, the idiot who took my order was either Blanca or Sarah? She had some bright pink lipstick, was rude and very unprofessional, I have vendors and customers who patronize this KT, I will definitely let them know how rudely I was treated and how a quick take out trip took almost 20 minutes, very unprofessional, very rude, Will definitely post on social media and chamber of commerce

My favorite taco spot in this area of El Monte. The staff are efficient and hard working. The food is SO good. I love the Al pastor tacos and the sweet tamale. They treat you with respect, are kind, and the security guard is really helpful about helping you pick up your order when your number is called. Also the bathroom is super clean. 11/10

The best one one on this side! The tamales had exceptional flavor and the cara asadas taco were so good and sauce as i expected .... delicious and staff is friendly . Overall good experience. I haven't been here in years and it was just as I remembered it. I got the nachos first time with carne asada. Then the 2nd time I got them with al pastor. I like the al pastor better just my preference. Felt like the asada had a tiny bit of like lemony, just too much for my taste buds. Other than that everything was great! Sorry for the no pics.

Very friendly staff kind and well mannered. I had the pleasure of being helped by Maggie as well as meeting my expectations she had a calm approach and understanding of the menu. By far all the employees here have great knowledge in what it is to be apart of the food industry.. the prices are fair with good Mexican food and Mexican aquas like Jamaica pina and horchata just to name a few. They are open from 8:30am till 12am and whats really great is on weekends they stay open later untill 3am (for the special night cravings)😉

It must have been our lucky day at this King Taco location—there was no line, and the food was prepared fresh on the spot. About 10 minutes into our meal, people started arriving, and a line quickly formed outside. As always, the nachos with carne asada were on point—absolutely delicious. We truly enjoyed this rare, quiet moment!

The place is good. I’m happy to come here around 2pm since there’s not much line. Unlike other locations I’ve been to. It’s always a 30 minute wait. Not here. They are fast. Just wish they would supply you with napkins already and not having to ask each time. Other than that. Wonderful place to eat . Excellent food

I came here on a Sunday. Ordered a burrito and two tacos with no onion. Service was good. The salsas are fastastic. The red one is zesty without losing flavor texture but the green one is great. A recurring issue are the portions, prices and limited menu.

Right when the line was almost out the door they went down to 1 register. 7-8pm is kind of a peak time for dinner so I'd think they'd want to move people along faster especially on taco Tuesday. Food is still good just didn't expect to wait 30 min

Great food! The meat tastes fresh and never overcooked! Their salsas are to die for! Service? Not too shabby (they feel the pressure too). Security guard? Vigilant and kind and mellow!. Bathrooms? Clean & accessable (with a code). Wait time for your order? ... HORRENDOUSLY LONG!!! By the time I got my burrito, I lost my appetite and gained it again, twice. Then lost it again. Ended up eating it (stale) later that night. Sorry King Taco #11. That's why I'll eat elsewhere

Only one cashier taking orders at peak time. Worse, all the employees behind the counter chatting away about what they will be doing for the weekend while everyone watches from the other side. No one is picking up the tables after guests leave, much less anyone around to keeping the floors clean. GREAT FOOD, lousy service, and dirty restaurant tables.

I normally come here for the burritos and sopes. The food is always great 5 out of 5, but the main thing I will complain about is the staff that hands you the food. Very rude. I would ask for a certain amount of salsas since I would always order a lot and they get really greedy and mad about it. I don't understand, is it coming out of their paycheck? Is this how all King Taco locations run? I only go to this location cause it's like 3mins away from my house. This one time this lady gave me 4 green salsas and I asked for 1 red salsa after those were prepared and she tried to cover and take away one of the green ones under her hand. She was not smooth about it cause I obviously saw it. That was terrible of her to do. Told her to give it back and the red salsa on top of it. If this wasn't the problem I definitely give it 5 out of 5. Oh and this isn't a one time thing, this happens quite often. Been coming here for more than 10yrs and they've always been like this. It's disgusting.

This was my first time at a King Taco. The food is amazingly low priced and delicious! Very clean inside with lots of tables. I ordered a chicken taco and a carne asada sope. Both were very good. The salsa is very good, as well. I recommend you give it a try.

The quality of food is good but the service isn't so good. The area too that it's based around is not the best and makes you feel uneasy. They even hired a security guard with a gun. Long wait, didn’t like the fact that they don’t have lime to compliment the tacos I bought. Also tacos taste better with guacamole and that isn’t an option for this taco shop either. The dining room tables could have used a little wipe down also.

This is an okay taco place. The service was a bit slow to get some tacos. The tortillas are steam to keep warm they don't use a plancha. The meat was ok and the salsa was just fine. Maybe they were having a bad day but King Taco is usually great.

The food was wonderful, however, I felt that server Veronica M could have been more helpful and less dismissive when taking our order.

This place is pretty good. Feels safer to go earlier in the day than late at night, but so far no issues. They do usually have security at night.

I gave the food 4 stars because the taste I've always known was there. The presentation was pretty bad. We got there about 10am and there were 2 other people eating at tables. We ordered.. buche and carnitas combo burrito and 2 carnitas sopes, 1 taco & a drink to share. The burrito immediately fell to pieces! Super wet and tortilla was cold. Sopes were great, taco was cold. The soda was leaking all over the place and when I asked the cashier for napkins to clean up the mess, she waved me off. Said I'm going on break and turned her sign to "closed" lol. She refused to hand me napkins ? Weird. We usually eat at the King taco next to Northgate on peck rd. We are gonna pass on coming to this location again.

Went on a not so busy day... Monday. Was happy that there was no line, usually this place is very busy. But... was not impressed by the food. Burrito tortilla was stale or not heated all the way. My tacos lacked flavor. I prefer the Pasadena location.

The cashier got my order wrong after I even asked her to repeat it. The table was sticky and had soda spilled on it and I ask employees repeatedly for something to clean it and they blew me off and once I got my food they didn't pack my chicken order to go like I asked when I placed my order they had to box it up after the fact and had a bad attitude about it. I had to come back because it was missing the salsa that was supposed to come with the chicken meal only to have the employee doubt I was missing the salsa and I told her you want me to bring it and prove it too you since you are saying that I must be mistaken. They need to have napkins or wipes to clean the tables and for used while eating because they are too busy to be bothered when they are working on food orders. I think the owner needs to have someone come and do quality control because I was so disappointed by the service I register open and it was taking way to long to fill orders.

Good Al Pastor tacos and tamales. Burritos are undersize for the price IMHO. They have an odd set up with two two order station on either side of the pick up section, but only one line on front of the right side one. People don't see or know when the left one is open some times. Slows down the ordering process. COVID update: This place is slower then ever. Which makes social distancing difficult because there's so many people waiting for food. I would say the number of people waiting for food is double those waiting to order. Given that there were 7 people prepping food compared to only one person taking orders that shouldn't be the caae. They have a fast food assembly type of operation where the ingredients are precooked.

It was a mexican restaurant with various plates to choose from Being my first time that I visited this place, there are certain aspects that could be changed to make it an even better place. One of the key things that I wouldn't mind to change managed would be to offer free salsas and lime, since they have that measured down to units, which changes your perspective of how Mexicans treat food: in abundance. The only other factor that would improved is taste. Maybe the ingredients in the US are different from Mexico, but I think that it shouldn't change that much. It could be the way they prepare the seasonings or maybe something else, but it just doesn't taste the same. I would say that everything else is really good, the place was clean and a lot of people went to eat that day, so it has a reason for that. I recommend it for anyone who misses Mexico and feels that Tijuana is too far away for some tacos

The service here is really slow. If there’s a line prepare to wait 30-60 minutes to receive your food. I had just 6 people ahead of me and took me 15 minutes to reach the cashier and another 15 to wait for my order. The only positive is that food still good.

Food is always good. I’m just baffled, why do they take so long. They have everything prepared already, how difficult is it to assemble a taco? Many times I just drive away, after seeing that long line to order. The sad part about it, they’re like this in all their locations. Please hire some consultants, maybe they can help you improve on your efficiency.

It should never take 50 minutes to order and get tacos, this wait is insane and too long for any establishment! Although it has amazing Al pastor tacos, our family agrees that it’s different from the other locations but to wait this long when there are so many other choices in El Monte, we will definitely skip this location from now on and just go to another place that doesn’t make you wait this long. It’s not even packed in here, management needs to do something about how their staff takes so long to make the orders when all the meat is already cooked! King taco has to do better if they want to retain their customers.

Crazy how expensive they have become, it’s insane that you are charged $29 dollars for a burrito and six tacos, and no drink! Do better king taco, your value isn’t that high and you’re ripping people off at this point. Wont be back, I feel robbed!

I don't know what's going on with King taco food . I use to love this place and couldn't wait to go anywhere near one so I can eat some. But this last time kind of did it for me. Their meat use to be unique with flavor , juicy and just taste overall but these last times I went the meat was dry, no flavor and the meat was really chewy (asada meat) like really cheap quality meat. It sucks because that was one of my childhood favorites. Let's not talk about size of burritos, they look like wrapped up tacos now. Very disapointed. Service was good can't complain about that.

This place is so hit or miss. Today was a big miss. I ordered a burrito and it was all rice. If you’re charging $9 dollars for a burrito the least you can do is add MEAT. This king taco location proves to be the worst within the area. If you can avoid coming here please do. Rateros.

Negative 5 stars!!! The worst possible customer service ever. They chose to speak Spanish only in front of the wrong person. I had to stand in line again (3rd) time because they made my husband go to a different area for napkins, salsa and one fork. And all staff kept talking and ignoring him. All while I watched. Never again. They ruined my appetite. Sticking with supporting local businesses.

Bad service took an hour to get our order hardly any meat and cold no flavor.

I have visited several King tacos in the past years and every year the tacos get smaller and price gets bigger. The quality is no longer like it used to be 10 years ago. Last night at the one in El Monte by far was the worse place I visited. The tacos tasted like a hint of soap good thing I had red sauce on the side to mask the taste. There was more chopped onions than meat on the taco. After ordering my meal I waited 20 minutes to get my tacos. The place had 22 visitors 17 were already eating. The rest were waiting . It wasn't busy there were 4 gals working the serving side and at one point no one ordering. One guy upset because they were working on a quesadilla, now that shouldn't take long. Poor time management.

Have stated before that I have a friend who boycotts Kings because of the awful service, I am joining his boycott because of their ridiculous greed! I bought 3 tacos and a tamale and they would not allow me more than 2 sauces! I asked for 2 green and 1 red because I wanted 1 green for the tamale alone, when I offered to pay for a third sauce I was told $1.29 which is outrageous for the size, same size as a pollo loco sauce, not creamy cilantro dressing, just a regular sauce. And the counter person was so mean about it too, she was scowling at me for asking for a third sauce. After I asked for the manager hoping for better luck with him, (didn't happen), thought I heard her say $1.09, either way over $1 for that size sauce is just plain greedy and I will not reward this kind of greed with continued patronige. In a customer service workshop I attended I was taught that if your business is doing good the establishment with it's management and staff should still always remain humble and gracious and not ever take their client base for granted because once an arrogant attitude is assumed the business becomes jeopardized. I don't care how good the little tacos taste, I do not care to give them my business with their arrogant attitude and greedy sauce policy. Next time I am in the vicinity of Kings tacos El Monte will opt for a couple of fish tacos at Baja Ensenada instead. One last thought, there's a painted mural sign on the south wall that states in Spanish: Welcome to your house where you are the king What a joke! I certainly did not feel welcomed or even respected while requesting a third sauce yesterday. Have been informed that the 99¢ for an extra salsa is listed on their menu; how does this make a difference? Will say again that I won't reward their greed by returning as a customer, not to any of their locations. Raising Cane's charges .39¢ for their creamy delicious remoulade, don't have an issue paying for extra sauce there because that is reasonable. .99¢ for a tiny container is JUST PLAIN GREEDY. No shame! ¡SIN VERGUENZA!

Service is really slow. They will not give you napkins or salsa if you do not ask. Then when you ask they give you attitude and will only give you very very little salsa. They will not give you salsa for certain items on the menu. Will not give you a salsa for an order of chips. Pretty ridiculous! Isn’t that the whole point of ordering tortilla chips, to eat them with salsa.

Tacos with out Limon is not a real taco we need that juice. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, DO NOT GO! The manager and the staff are extremely rude - they expect you to order everything when you order your food (napkins, salsa, forks, lime) and if you forget it and go back to ask they will get in your face and refuse to give it to you. We are from AL and we’re in Cali visiting, first time at any King Taco location and my mother forgot to ask for forks at the start, she went back for them and the lady said “I’ll give it to you this time but next time I will not”. The manager refused to give another man a salsa because he forgot to ask for it at the start and she told my dad he could not buy it for the man because the manager had to approve it and my dad had to “‘mind his business”. How is this a business where you purchase food but have to beg for it? Absolutely not, never again.

i went in to order 2 tacos ! And the cashier had a stinky attitude! The cooks were arguing with each other ! Took them 15min just to make 2 tacos! Came to eat and always liked it here because it's my home town. But now, with the new staff . I don't like it. They are rude, unattended, and charge for everything. I took my whole family and spent 50 plus. In which I wouldn't come back again. Just lost my loyalty to eat Here because of bad service.

Worse taco place ever Servers are rude and unpolite, and they don't serve lemon for the tacos. Really? Lemon, it's one of the main ingredients of tacos. The food portion is little and small it's very expensive for what your getting.

This is sad. I've always enjoyed King Taco. However, this is the second time I've had poor service and food. This location took a long time with only 8 people. My burrito was ripped and had to use a fork. The beans were a little hard and the amount of meat was hardly anything. This is the last time I will eat King Taco and definitely won't recommend it.

After I have visited all the king tacos in El Monte, this is the worst place to come, very bad customer service, one simple order takes almost 20 minutes in an empty setting and to top it all off the people working have a very bad bahavior towards you, please avoid this place at all cost.

I tried the burrito late 1 night, it was not that good. Lets just every other burrito I hv tried before was better. The worst was the rice was hard, felt like they were scrapping the bottom pan. Its was not cheap, kind of expensive for that quality $13, and the plc was not very clean. The only good thing, service was fast. Would never try there again.

We stopped by early morning around 9:15 am ordered two burritos . The beans were still very extra hard . They needed more cooking time. I made them aware and they gave me new burritos with smashed beans . Literally whole different taste to the burrito. We didn’t eat them after the first bite we just lost our money . Very disappointed since king taco has always been our favorite spot. It was our first time going to this location we usually go to the one in fontana .

This establishment has beans, cheese, and rice in various forms on the menu, yet they can't make a bean, cheese, and rice burrito.

When did King Taco change so much! I remember the old king taco being delicious, added great flavors, also guacamole to some of their tacos! Also a refill station. Well all that is gone! No refills on any soda products, no lemons (king taco doesn’t serve lemons at any of their locations from what the manager and service ladies told me) super expensive on adding guacamole. I waited in line just like everyone else. My friends were behind me and my number was 356 being first I thought I would get my food first. That’s not what happened here. All my friends got their food before I did. 10-15 mins Went by, went to see the manager and she said “they’ll make it right now” looked at my ticket and it was in the side away from the service lady. Basically they passed my ticket. In any any ANY Mexican food restaurants they serve LEMONS! Onions on the side if asked for it! And free refills on any soft drinks! Sorry king taco it’s sad to say this but I will never visit you again. Same goes with my friends.

I loved the tacos here, been coming for like 20 years. The service we got today was not great. The cashier was rude and also we got charged $2 for salsas!!! Since when do they charge for salsas!!! Anyways we paid for it but to our disappointment the tacos were tiny!!!! They just keep getting smaller and smaller. The tortillas were also cold and a little hard. Very disappointed!!! This place takes for ever to give you, your food order. I waited 40 min with 4 cooks in line and it wasn’t full I can’t imagine how much longer they take when the restaurant is full with customers. Managent needs improvement and the servers are kind of rude too…

The food at this establishment is quite overpriced for the portions they serve, and the asada is excessively greasy. Additionally, they charge 69 cents for salsa, which is absurd considering many places provide salsa for free. I would recommend going elsewhere where you can get better value for your money. Furthermore, the service at this location is notably slow. It seems to be due to the fact that only women are working here, and, in my opinion, the service was faster when there was a mix of men and women working.

El Monte #11: Food was cold, not even warm. Burrito, tacos and nachos, was a waste of my $35.00. The place doesn't even smell like they are cooking. So far, Baldwin Park hasn't disappointed. King Taco is a treat for us and this visit was a fail.

I love King Taco, Well I used to love it their delicious Green salsa, Spicy Red Salsa which they’re greedy with always, their flavorful meat and their carne Asada nachos with jalapeños which I keep coming back but now every time I go the portions are getting smaller, more expensive and with my last visit at king taco made it my last visit for good. The last visit hit the last nail in the coffin beside everything I describe above I got a few hair in my burrito went to let the person at the register know she called the manager, manager ask me “ what do I want your money back?” I reply “ No I’ll just take some nachos instead” it’s the same value of the burrito $8.49+ tax she gave me a grin whisper something to the server and gave me my nachos with a little bit of cheese and meat which ilI laugh saying to my self it’s their loss. Now king taco greediness comes from the higher ranks the founder kids but the filthiness and bad service of the location, well that comes from management. “ A business is only as good as it’s customer service.” Comment if you had any bad experience or what you think about king taco. If you have never try king taco you should give it a try. The Founder Raul will be devastated to see everything he build from the ground up all just to crumble down.
