We had a wonderful time at this location! In addition to the food being wonderful, the staff offered amazing service. The restaurant was clean, the staff very friendly and nice, and the food delicious! My whole family was so satisfied with their service. There were 15 of us and they were very attentive to each one of us. We were celebrating a special occasion, and both our server, Jennifer, and the manager, Hassan, were amazing and made our experience very pleasant. They treated us as if we were long time friends and I can say I will be visiting again!

Food was very good, the burger was the EXACT same as the picture and very tasty. Service was good, we were seated immediately and the waiters were on point, nice and continuously asked to make sure are food was as expected and to see if we needed anything. Will be coming back!

My first meal of the day in Northern California with my daughter. It was late but the food was great and the waitress was sweet! She was from Russia and has in the United States for many years. She was lovely!

I brought a friend here who had never been to a Denny's ever in 45 years. It was actually the perfect Denny's experience. Good service, the food was just as I wanted (we split the Lumberjack Slam), and the hash browns were nearly as crispy as I wanted (I like them super crispy - I should have said "super" instead of "extra" but they were still really good).

We had Diane as our waitress and she was absolutely amazing! She's very attentive and we really appreciate her. Every time we have been served by her, she is always great. Definitely love coming to this Dennys because of her.

I love this Denny's and go there routinely because the food is home comfort food, and the service is always great. Whether it's a busy day or a slow day, the limited staff always make the service work, so the customer is not forgotten about. The food may not be flashy or fancy. It does hit the spot and fills your belly, and any order on the menu can easily be substituted so you get the platter of food you actually want. This is a family favorite place, and we love the staff because they virtually remember our favorite items on the menu and kinda know what we are going to order before we sit down. An example is we frequently order onion rings as an appetizer, and as we get seated, we are usually asked if we want to put an order in for onion rings, even before our drinks are ordered.

we were seated right away but the food itself took a bit to come out. I got the santa fe skillet (15.19), it was really tasty and the skillet kept it nice and hot! the receipt says our server was Elemen. they were really pleasant and helpful. thanks Denny's :)

During a strike of late night hunger, I stopped by my local Denny’s to curb a sweet tooth and an empty stomach. I was served by Aiden, and it was her 3rd day today! She was so so sweet and did so well. I had a very nice time at this Denny’s. I enjoyed some chocolatey milk, seasoned fries, and I took a filled French toast to go (I got full very quickly). For how late it was, I was unsure about going alone (I also haven’t been to a Denny’s since I was a kid), but it was a very comfortable experience! Thank you Aiden!

It's Denny's, so you know what to expect for food and atmosphere. I had good friendly service and spoke to the cook about the pancakes. I said they were very good and he said Denny's changed their recipe to use buttermilk and vanilla and less stirring of the batter to make them lighter and better tasting. Great decision!

It was a last minute place to go eat that was still open almost to midnight that day I went with my family. Server was good but kept getting the orders mixed up and then at the end I was charged some extra dishes that weren't mines. I told the server and we went over each items and the server realized she did make a mistake and took the charges off. Make sure you look at your tabs before paying.

Always come back to this place for another try and service isn't the best. When a waiter asks if you need anything and you have an empty glass on table in front of them. Just weird to me. We arrived around 12AM and was told they are only taking TO GO orders because they're closing to do "deep cleaning". My boyfriend and I asked if we could sit outside on the patio furniture and they said yes but they can't service us with refills or anything. The entire time we sat outside eating, the 2 waitresses were sitting inside eating at a table and going in and out to smoke cigarettes. They lost about 10 customers that night.

My burger was delicious and two of our grandbabies ordered pancakes and they were perfect! But... we ordered chicken tenders for our 18 month old and they were do overdone she couldn't even eat them. And my husband ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken and it was also very over done, almost burned. Needless to say, even though my burger was great, we were very disappointed with the food .

Really dirty restaurant, the bad smell in the restroom turns your stomach to the point of vomiting. If you don't use the restroom the food is good for the price.

I would actually give them a 5 if they wouldn’t quit putting their phone on busy and you can’t call in an order. When we want to order we have to actually go there and order and sit and wait our food. We have the AARP card so ordering online does not give us the discount due to prepayment. What is the use of having a phone for a business. This is so frustrating.

Rough night at Denny’s on Elk Grove blvd. 3-21-25 Friday night 8:30ish Took quite a while to get our order and food. Waitress was polite and very nice just super slow. Ordered Coffee and Hot Chocolate and both were luke warm at best. Asked for a refill on the coffee and asked to please heat it up but unfortunately that didn’t work. Food was all good just nothing was really hot. Our Sample looked a little light. Maybe they normally use a smaller dish I guess. I was very disappointed. We come here quite a bit and we’re usually very happy with the service and the food quality and temperatures.

This was a great disappointment. I rated this two star because one star says I hated it which I didn't. I have been to Denny's in two different countries and in the US in at least four states. All have been good experiences. First I will note that our server was excellent. She worked very very hard and she is the only reason we didnt just leave. I cannot say the same about kitchen staff. We waited over 30 minutes just to get an omelet and a breakfast skillet. I gave them some space as they had a lot of online orders with delivery drivers waiting however, ignoring you patrons in the restaurant is not a good policy. The food finally arrived and my omelet was barely warm, my hashbrowns lukewarm and my toast cold and burnt with barely any butter. I understand that there are businesses looking for staff. Perhaps people didn't show up for work. I don't know why it was bad but I saw a lot of disgruntled servers speaking with the manager. Something was wrong and unfortunately patrons got the raw end if the stick. When I left there were a lot of empty tables and lots of people waiting to go in to eat. Management was not managing.

I paid $25.10 in cash, but she only credited me $20 plus a $3.08 military discount. So I was overcharged some $7 plus another $2. I wonder who's pocketing that extra $2.

I am soooooo very disappointed. I've been coming here for years! I used to come evey weekend with my son for our mommy and baby dates (he's 2yrs old).... So my husband and I are here like literally right now and it's currently 4:05AM. We ordered loaded tater tots, half order of zesty Nachos and a side order of onion rings. Food was sent out with good timing. BUTT the tater tots were COMPLETELY burnt. Like really? Why would the chief even send out burnt food. And when I say burnt I mean like the tots were completely black and hard burnt we sent it back immediately and asked to take the tots off our bill. Honestly this place isn't what it used to be. So disappointed I came back after 2 years... UPDATE: The server was rude and very dismissive. Some of the food was burnt. While I was eating I noticed something moving in my corn, I looked and it was a freaking flee like literally I was so grossed out I had to leave.

Also the up charge for anything extra ranch bbq sauce .99 etc Almost feel like the jobs of the staff are dependent on them getting these add ons just to keep their jobs . I ordered an Uber eats from this restaurant they send me food with no silverware, condiments or even a.straw for my drink. Had to call 5 times the restaurant as the as the Uber driver says it's not his fault need to call them. They finally awnser only to be told by whoever was on duty it's not thier problem and hung up on me.

If I could give zero stars I would. Not only was my food overcooked its was also extremely cold like it had been sitting out for a while. It's very clear these reviews have been manipulated. Many just glow about the "seasoned" wait staff and mention waitresses by name. No other Denny's restaurant has such reviews. Do the good people of Elk Grove have a group trait of remembering their waitresses name when they post glowing reviews? Just look at every other review site (i.e. Yelp) and you'll see this is a very poor place in terms of food and especially in terms of service. Top of the reasons why is they refuse to hand out the value menu (i.e their cheaper options) and even claim it doesn't exist. This is particularly true of the older larger white waitress who works the front half ot he restaurant (that overlooks the car park). She claims there is no value menu at Dennys any more but it's clearly not true.

We waited a long time to get seated (i found out later it was because the hostess would constantly go to the back to take "breaks" and chat with some guy) when the hostess finally showed up she asked how many, there was 2 of us but i told her we may have more later, to which she replied in a rude manner "we can only seat you if your whole party is here" I understand if it's policy, but I don't understand the need to be rude?! I said ok, just go ahead and get us seated, we'll take a table for 2. The waitress "Rosemary" seemed to be in a hurry. She quickly asked for our drinks and our food. (I don't expect too much from a Dennys to begin with, but when someone makes you feel rushed, well I don't like it. Im a paying customer ya know ? My burger was ok. But everything else was undercooked, I couldn't tell my waitress because she left and went home after we got our food. We didn't get service or refills. Like i said, im already expecting an average to ok experience from a Dennys but this was just too much. These people should get fired and their positions should go to someone who actually needs a job. These people obviously don't care about theirs. I hope a manager sees this. The lettuce they gave me was rotten brown and mushy. Once they took there time “remaking” all they did was put new buns and same brown rotten lettuce with the same bitten into meat from my burger.

OnI January 12,3024, Me & my boyfriend stopped at the Denny's in Elk Grove because it was very late & all other restaurants were closed. The cashier acknowledged us but then disappeared . We sat down & waited while she cleared off tables & cashed out other customers in between. We kept wondering why she wasn't taking us to a table after waiting so long. There wasn't very many guests in the restaurant at the time. Finally 29 minutes later, she took us to a table. A waitress was chatting up some young men at the table next to us- telling them where she was born & grew up & was not in a hurry to end the conversation she was having. We looked at the menu & decided what we wanted to order. But no one came to take our order! We waited for another 20 minutes & then when no one came, we decided to leave. It was one of the worst experiences in a restaurant I can remember. If it was super busy, I could understand having to wait but this was not the case. The hostess/ cashier & waitress were very unprofessional & inappropriate. We will never go back to Elk Grove Denny's.

Whoever answered the phone, that was probably the worst and rudest experience I ever had. It was a female, and I simply asked if they do take out orders, and she said “We are closed right now.” And I clarified by saying, “No, for future reference do you guys take pick up orders?”. In which she responds, “NO, we are closed.”. Worst experience hope this worker gets fired.

I've ordered a pick up order 4 different times, and every single time, my order is screwed up.. I spent over $100 on a pickup order today, they were so bz because it's Christmas day, I understand that, but I waited over an hour for my order and then the food was cold.. so riddle me this .. if my order wasn't ready , then why was is cold??? Then on top of that, I had ordered special additions to our burgers and salads, (avocado, and extra avocado) which cost me 1.98 x6, and didn't receive Any in our salads and two small pieces on our burgers... And two of those burgers were bacon, avocado burgers..They had the wrong fries with the burgers, and as I stated, the fries were all cold and hard. The salads had no dressing for any of them.. and they forgot our napkins ..

I love going to this Denny’s but when I’m ordering take out because we are quarantined it’s not worth the money. I ordered a side salad with my super bird meal. And the salad was about 5 bites, and hardly any fries. My husband’s mashed potatoes were runny and hardly any broccoli.

Foul language in the music, the "n" word, The "f" word. Very very loud music. Very offensive really. I had to move to a table to finish listening to my YouTube video. This is unbelievable.

i went here with my coworkers (4 young women) after a shift and not only got poor service but were also harassed in the diner while we were waiting for our food and even when we got our food while sitting in our booth. the man was verbally harassing us, leaving us uncomfortable and afraid, some of us were so bothered we didn't even eat our food. and when we reported to the staff about our experience they normalized and justified his actions since apparently the man who did it was a regular at their diner.

I loved this place until I was treated badly I went to store on 07/11/2025 at2pm after placing an order at 1:50pm to pick up a sandwich my son went in waited 30 minutes and no help then I go in and ask how much longer and the waitress name Julia says we haven’t even stated on it yet!!!!! I got upset as soon as I heard that told her I’m not going to wait any longer to get refunded she says you have to get it from the platform you ordered. No help whatsoever no apology nothing!!

I'll start by saying, "Thank you. We had the most delicious meal across the street." The reason we had such a delicious meal is because we were completely ignored. The young lady up front was good about greeting us and sitting our family fairly quickly. Then, crickets... they weren't too busy, but they are obviously understaffed. I am not sure exactly how long we waited, but we did break a record I think. I cannot remember a time when my daughter, a notoriously picky eater, was able to figure out what she wanted before a server even said hello. My wife and I had been chatting, as well as trying to help our little girl determine what she wanted, when we looked around and realized no one had checked in. It didn't look like we were in danger of anyone checking in any time soon. We waited, trying to make eye contact with someone to no avail. Ah, got it, they have more business than they can handle at their staffing level. We'll help them out. I felt zero guilt leaving, because the only things we were leaving behind were well looked over menus. Not a water glass in sight. If you've read this far and are curious as to what was so good across the street, it was Best Kabob and Gyro. It is a hole-in-the-wall place that deserves more attention. Their appetizer soup was well spiced without being salty. Stay tuned for their 5 star review.

I recently visited this restaurant and had a very disappointing experience. One of the staff members was extremely rude to us just because we were wearing beach clothes. He sarcastically asked, ‘Did you guys go to prom? Why are you dressed like that?’ His tone was condescending and completely unprofessional. It made us feel very unwelcome. I would not recommend this place based on how poorly we were treated.

The food is disgusting and the waitress are so mean so I will never go there trust me the food has bugs in it and I throw up

terrible service I have ever had in a Denny’s I will not return Or any of my family member will not return to this restaurant again just for two pancake took 25 minutes, so I asked the waitress why is it taking so long? She goes oh I don’t know sir and walk way, very rude

If you’re AA, avoid this Denny’s. I had a strange experience this morning and quickly showed myself to the door. There was only White patrons and a rude Asian waiter. Besides for the White patrons staring at me (I was alone, woman, AA/East Indian with braids) the Asian waiter rudely asked me in front of all the other patrons, standing on the opposite side of the restaurant, wasn’t there an empty table on the opposite side of the restaurant. I was being seated alone in the dark. I’m currently at IHOP where I was warmly greeted. I will leave a very nice tip for my waitress.

I went yesterday after a Halloween party at 1:30 AM with some friends, and they said we’re not serving anyone else because we only have one cook working back there. And basically every table wasn’t cleaned up. It seemed like they only had a cook, two waitresses working.

There is this new employee who is a young girl that went back and fourth with my sister about meal sides that she forgot to add in our bag which my sister politely asked for. Then the manager steps in and says my sister is right. There are those sides that come with the meals we ordered. Thats like going to mcdonalds, and ordering a double beef burger, we get the burger and all we see is bread lettuce and tomato, no meat. Please train your employees to be more polite and learn customer service skills and actually listen to customers instead of forgetting 3 menu items with our meals that we paid for.

If you and your family want to wait for 20-25 mins to be served this is the place to be. My wife and I and our son came here on 08/31/25 at 11am and was seated and we waited for 25 mins and not one time did the servers come to ask and help us at all and yet other tables around us were being helped and taken care of. Then 2 elder ladys came and sat behind us and immediately the Mexican server asked if they would like anything to drink, and here we are still waiting 20 mins from when we sat down just to get our water and silverware. After we voiced our concern did HE finally want to help us. We asked him why weren't we served and he just kept saying "this isn't my table, I don't know". And there was a Mexican lady also in the same area that was helping the table behind me and I asked her why weren't we helped and she also said " oh idk it's not table " and in my mind if the guy isn't our server and she wasn't then WHO IS OUR SERVER? So then we asked for the manager and he came over to us and yet did not resolve our concern. All the manager kept saying was that he can take our order now repeatedly and that there's a miscommunication that's why we weren't served. So now in my mind I'm thinking after the fact now you wanna serve us after we were sitting for 25 mins. This place had the worse service for an American chain restaurant and my family and friends will NEVER return here. No apology or sincerity was given from the servers of from that manager that we spoke with.

Tonight was a Horrible experience, I went with my cousins who i haven’t seen in weeks. The experience was horrible it took an hour to get our food and drinks. The lady dropped my brisket sandwich on the way to the table but 2 minutes later she gives me it. I’m pretty sure it was the same sandwich because if it took an hour too make it, there is was no way it’s a brand new sandwich. She also didn’t provide free coloring books. As you can see from the photo the brisket was tiny and looks like dog treats.
