Carmelita's was a extremely pleasant surprise! First timer. From the beautiful decor, starting at the front door throughout the restaurant pleasing art and every where very colorful.. The food was top notch, carnitas crispy and flavorful, the guacamole pleasantly presented and fresh. The salsa was delicious. My house margaritas was beautiful and flavorful with a twist of spice🌶.. Last but not least, the waitress was attentive and prompt, went out of her to make sure my experiance was excellent from start to finish... defiantly 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Every time we visit Carmelita’s in Old Fair Oaks Village it feels like a mini getaway. Their patio is beautiful and a fantastic place to get a margarita. My husband loves their huevos rancheros for Saturday brunch, I really like their taco salad and fajita burrito. Consistently friendly staff as well.

Great place! Food: ordered chipotle chicken plate to dine in. Chicken was moist, sauce was rich, all the sides were full of flavor. Portions were huge! Service: the staff were spot on every need and so kind! Atmosphere: place was really colorful and nice. Can’t wait to go back :)

Great service, food was good. Tried this place again yesterday and felt great with all the items we ordered. Shrimp rellenos, fajita bowl, tostada salad, churros, flan were awesome. Drinks and ambience rocks. Went back for another great lunch ☺️ and was a n awesome experience. Great ambience and customer service. Another visit for dinner, as always enjoyed every item we ordered. Another great trip to Carmelitas, awesome food service, and ambiance.

I had an absolutely incredible dining experience at this Mexican restaurant! The food was bursting with authentic flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. From the savory tacos to the mouthwatering enchiladas, each dish was a masterpiece. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff added to the overall enjoyment. I can't wait to return and indulge in more of their amazing cuisine. Highly recommended!

This is our first time here! Super cute atmosphere. I had the taco salad with chicken - lots of chicken! Tasty. My hubby had the carnitas. Rosa was our server and she was really sweet and attentive. We plan to come back and try their patio seating.

We stopped into Carmelita’s Mexican Restaurant one evening and were told there would be about a 30-minute wait for indoor seating, but they did have spots available on the patio. Even though it was 102 degrees outside, the patio was comfortable enough to sit and enjoy the meal. Our waitress was very friendly and upfront, letting us know they were switching systems and food was taking a little longer than usual. She came by a few times to apologize for the delay, which we really appreciated. The menu isn’t very large and was missing a few of my personal favorites, but there were still some solid options. We ordered nachos, the fajita burrito, and a combination plate with a taco, enchilada, and chile relleno. Everything was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The fajita burrito stood out — great portion size and absolutely delicious. Overall, the service and food made up for the longer wait. A good spot if you’re looking for quality Mexican food.

That restaurant on the hill in Fair Oaks as you drive on Sunrise! This was me convincing my husband to go. Nothing like seeing a restaurant for years as you drive on a street but you never go. Alas, I finally did it! Queso, margs, chips, and a chili relleno. The queso fondido gave definitely the cheese stretch. It was okay but when cooled down it was a battle to eat. Marg on point and so was the chili relleno. It can get busy and parking is limited. I'd go back and my husband said he would too! Side note: rice was on point!

Happy hour is great! Blackberry margaritas! Dinner outdoors on the patio is a must if the weather if nice. Love the fajitas and shrimp tacos!!!

We came in on a busy Sunday and had a little wait, but the food was well worth it. We got an order of the Serrano chicken and it had such a nice flavor! Tbh it had more of a poblano flavor/not alot of heat but it had a delightful taste and the sauce had a nice rich texture. The pasole was okay but the meat was a little dry, but still had a good flavor. I definitely say stop in, give it a shot! Check out this fair oaks gem♡

This Mexican restaurant has a great feel but could get better with some light. The light was dim and hard to see clearly. The Serrano Chicken was DELICIOUS and everyone should try it. The fajitas were also good but they were just average. I don’t usually order an appetizer but I couldn’t pass up the fundido. It’s a must try, I will warn you though if you order an appetizer from here they don’t wait long for your food to come out. We were even halfway through our appetizer and the main course came out. To me that is a big no no and makes me not want to order it from them next time. Other than that I left pleasantly stuffed still wanting more of that Serrano chicken.

Vegan here: Ordered veggie fajitas and lets just say that what you get is very disappointing. Basically what you are served is a hot plate of a large sauted onion and some bell pepper with some sides and topping options. I once ordered the same thing from another restaurant in Palm Springs (Cathedral City) and now this place didn't disappoint. It was loaded with carrots, broccoli, zuccini, some spinach and mushroom, as well as onions and bell pepper. I would hope that Carmelita's restaurant will consider upping their game a bit by making a veggie dish worth the price.

Was excited about this place because it came recommended by a friend. The space is cute and we enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. Service was nice but so incredibly slow. It took 45 mins from the time we ordered to the time we actually received our food, so it was extra disappointing when they messed up my order and then I had to go back inside to flag down my waitress because none of the other servers were willing to assist. I ordered Huevos rancheros with chicken, but they forgot my chicken and when I told them they brought out the chicken in a bowl instead of incorporating into the dish so that it could be infused with flavors of the dish. It just looked so unappetizing afterwards. Overall very lackluster experience. Spent $30 for the Huevos rancheros & an OJ.

I have eaten here so many times and something has changed. From the moment we walked in. Asked to sit inside and was taken outside, chips are old and thick, salsa is pureed tomato sauce, never got our drink order until we asked after the meal came waitress forgot. Worse Margaritas, no salt and tasted funny. food was bland. It looks like your trying to elevate the experience but you should have stuck to the old way and just make excellent food. We spent $100 for lunch for 3 and left half of it on the table. Definetly not worth the price and unfortunately I won't be back.
