I wanted to do something besides the usual dinner. My friend visited the Royal Cafe on Main Street Fairport. All the flavors were some fruit and chocolate, super chocolate, Tirmasu, Mint, many more. With the small size, you can try 3 flavors! Clean place and has tables to enjoy your geltos! There is coffee also. I will come back again and try some more.

Royal Cafe has amazing gelato. You can try three flavors in a small; 4,medium; or 5, large. There are always an assortment o flavors to choose from and we've never been disappointed in the 10+ years we've been going. Conveniently located on Main Street right where the new pedestrian walkway entrance will be.

Best gelato I have ever had. The hazelnut is so authentic and packed with flavor! The owner mentioned that he roasts the hazelnuts in house which gives it such a great taste. Highly recommend!

The best gelato i've had locally as good as in Europe. They have a wide variety of rotating flavors. Friendly workers. Open year round for that gelato craving anytime. Sadly village tore up street with stretch of canal path and parking adjoining it. So make the effort and still go. It's worth it!

At 39 weeks pregnant on a 90+ degree day, my daughter was craving Lemon Gelato. She specifically requested Gelato and said not Lemon Ice. I went to several places trying to find Lemon Gelato with no luck. Finally, I arrived at Royal Cafe. Unfortunately, they did not have any either. The clerk did suggest Lemon Ice. The owner overheard me when I explained why I did not want to purchase Lemon Ice. He came out to ask if I could wait 10 minutes. He said he would make some right then and there! I was surprised, especially since it was nearing closing time! He even gave me some to sample ... it was smooth and creamy with a wonderful lemon flavor (you could see the lemon zest throughout)! When I delivered the gelato to my daughter, she was ecstatic! She remarked that it was as delicious as Gelato she's had in Italy!! Thank you very much for going out of your way to make fresh Gelato to make an uncomfortable woman happy!

What a gem of a place. There is so much care and craft in the gelato ... from the rich and seasonal flavors to the portions, which are optimized for sampling many flavors. Highly recommend the super chocolate, which was beyond delicious. This little gelateria reminds me of the ones I frequented (frequently) in Rome in the best way.

A delicacy of international cuisine to be sure. How are European and Russian friends love this stuff. It turns out the owners are from More expensive than ice cream. No free samples. You can get three four or five scoops. Highly recommended to mix flavors. Watch out for inappropriate mixes of flavors such as non-matching combinations of the fruits with the savories. There's a reason coffee-kiwi isn't a thing. I had kiwi mango coconut pineapple and pear. Delish.

My husband got the banana cream pie gelato which was amazing. I got a strawberry banana smoothie and it was ok. Would definitely go back to try more gelato flavors.

I liked the gelato... I never knew it was non dairy ice cream and sorbet... great place the price could be lower but good to eat.

Gelato was ok. The lady was kinda snappy when we asked about flavors. The biggest complaint was no samples. I would have like to try other flavors but had to play it safe with chocolate. Probably would not come back.

Been a client for 12 years and last week went and they had so many new flavors I wanted to try 1 or 2 to combine with my usual lemon but they no longer offer samples?!! Seriously, how much can you lose by giving a tiny little sample that does not need to be more than 1/4 of a teaspoon? Simply limit the amount of samples per client to two, not every client will ask for samples, some people want what they want. Definitely won't be my go-to place this summer.

Decent coffee shop. The clerk seemed rushed or flustered with only a two customers in the store and was slightly resistant to use a credit card, albeit the credit card companies take a fee, it's poor form to really lean on or guilt your customers to pay in cash and then struggle count out accurate change when given cash.

Good ice cream. Very poor service and portion of ice cream greatly dependable on who was serving. Totally unacceptable...too bad as taste of ice cream and flavor diversity could make a difference for this store.

Many flavors. Convenient but expensive. Be sure to check your order before you leave. They tend to leave part of your order out of the bag. Quite a disappointment considering what you pay...and don't make you whole even when you bring it to their attention after you open the bag when you get home. Young lady working the counter was wonderful. Very enjoyable, hospitable, welcoming. She was fantastic. We loved her. The gelato was yummy. But the owner walked in at the end and was rude and tactless. Told my sister and brother-in-law to leave because they had to-go boxes from Macs philly steaks. We wanted to order food at this place but they stopped serving after 5. I would only enter this establishment again if the owner was completely out of sight and hopefully out of the building. He was rude. Very very rude. If you want to keep a good reputation, it’s all about how you say things. Not even what you say...

I walked in and there was absolutely no one there. The gelatos in the case looked kind of dried up, and as there was no one even there, I left. Kind of strange that it would be left unattended.

Tonight we went there for a fun family outing. All 8 of us bought gelato and spent alot of money. While we were eating the gelato, my husband was hungry and went down the road to get a Philly cheese steak. 10 minutes later, my husband came back in the store with his food to sit with us. He was told by the manager to leave. Not nicely either. Said we can't have outside food in the establishment. If that's a health law, we would have liked to seen this law. However, the manager did not even speak to us further, but went in the back and hid. The whole family left angry and unwanted. Not to mention we thought the gelato was watery and flavorless. We'll never go back again.

Horrible customer service. So before getting into it, I just want to state that I know every place has its policies. I also know there are health regulations that need to be followed. My complaint isn’t about the policies it’s about how I was treated and spoken to. Tonight I walked in, as I’ve done in the past, with my dog because we were out for a walk. I go in a few different places with him. This is a dog friendly area and a lot of business are okay with you bring you dog in. I know depending on what places serve that can determine if animals are allowed. I assume if nothing has been said before then it’s okay. The woman serving me was going to serve me a little dish of vanilla for my dog and a dish for myself. However, before I could finish being served a man came out and interrupted the woman who was speaking to me, to talk to me. I sometimes struggle to process when multiple people are speaking to me at once. I politely told him to wait while I finish speaking with his co worker. He clearly got irritated that I asked him to wait and told me to “get out” with my dog. Mind you my dog wasn’t annoying anyone or jumping up on anything and I had complete control of him(he’s only 40Ibs). I was taken aback and stunned I was being spoken to in the tone he was using. I told him “okay that fine I can’t purchase anything tonight then.” He responds with “that’s fine just get out of here.” I’m sorry but as someone who works in customer service I would never speak to someone like this! There are plenty of ways to talk a client in this situation. Example one “excuse me, but dogs aren’t allowed in here. We will be happy to serve you this time but just know for your next visit. “ or what should have been done from the start “Excuse me, is your dog a service animal?” I wasn’t trying to break any rule or policy or regulation. Just wanted to enjoy a nice night with my dog and have a treat with him. I would have preferred being educated as a consumer. I was very clear and upfront that the way he was speaking to me was rude and disrespectful. He just smiled and didn’t care and told me to get out. He then also proceeded to speak down to the lady who was going to serve me. I definitely wouldn’t have approached this situation like he did. I would have asked if the dog was a service animal. Then I would have explained dog aren’t allowed and why. But I would have had the sense to serve because I was going to be paying 2x. Clearly they don’t care about earning more business or money. I’m a pleasant and compliment person and I rarely write bad reviews. I was just wanting to understand more and also help educate him on how he was speaking to me. I might return but honestly after being spoken to the way I was I don’t want to.
