The LAST gay-owned & gay-operated bar on Long Island! This place is such a gem! Great people, and a fantastic place to find some community. The bartenders are super nice & all people are welcome. It’s wonderful!

Love going here with friends for a fun night of bingo or karaoke. The bartenders / owners are always very nice and respectful to me and my friends. As a repeat customer, it means a lot when a bartender remembers what you order. With the limited amount of LGBTQ inclusive spaces on Long Island, we should all be grateful for a safe space like this. Remember, you have to respect the space to be respected. 💕✨
I have a question is this place straight people friendly it looks great and the people as well. Would love to have a drink with great people.
Chris and the rest of the staff are always so welcoming and provide a safe space for LGBTQIA+ people of all ages. Bingo is a great time with so many other fabulous events going on. Have made some wonderful memories at NuBar and will continue to for some time to come!
This is one of my favorite queer spaces on Long Island, my friends and I try to make it to every Bingo and Karaoke it is one of our favorite things to do. This space is extremely welcoming and a great place to hangout.
The owner made us feel welcome. He treated everyone there so well. They have a slide show running so you can see all of the pride events NuBar is involved in and the bar's history. The bar is covered in pennies and there's a pool table. Nice local hang out place.
Love this place. I don't drink, and even for me as a teetotaler, it is always a warm, inviting, and comfortable space that is low on attitude and big on fun. Karaoke nights with Dennis (first Saturday of the month typically) are an absolute blast!
Love the atmosphere. Great people...looking forward to Halloween. 🤙🙂
Super friendly and welcoming bar, it actually might officially be the only gay bar on Long Island! & it’s standing strong. Staff is super kindly, especially the bartender ( James ) super sweet guy and always makes me feel welcomed.
Me and all my friends from the 90's frequented Blanche's for a few decades.. such an awesome Bar. I visited Nu Bar this past weekend with a great friend. I've gotta say, it was 100% an outstanding atmosphere.. wonderful staff, music was awesome, the customers were so very nice. I'll definitely visit Nu Bar again when I travel to Long Island. Thank you for such a wonderful time.
I've never had a bad time here. the bartenders are so awesome.
Had a great time here while visiting Long Island. Bartender was very friendly and made excellent, strong drinks. Also very affordable.
Have actually never been but grew up in north Massapequa and was just checking google maps to see how much remained the same in the Broadway area. I saw NuBar where the old Blanche was. It made me curious to see if it was still a gay bar. I am not gay but think it is very cool that even though pretty much all the other bars in the area have come and gone, there has been a gay bar in this spot for what may be around 40 years? Very cool. I have not been back to LI in maybe 5 years but may stop in and have a beer and bites and check out the bartender everyone raves about.
Great bar and great renovations. We came in tonight not knowing the bar had a new name and design as we only visit every year or so.. The bartender was awesome and so were the patrons as they really made us feel at home (we're from Las Vegas). Cheers
Great renovations!! I love the new bartender James! He's friendly, one of the best bartenders out there, and did I mention easy on the eye?! Yeah he's gorgeous.
I got to say I love the atmosphere I love the people there the bartenders are amazing for drinks are always so good. The music depending on the 90 who's bartending to be pretty damn good as well I'm always there on Friday nights in the music is always a good mix between 80s 90s today. And the reservations are being going to the bar are going to be amazing as it is the little things of already changed have really perked up the place
Nice bar ! Fun and friendly. James was super cool. Can’t wait to come back! Also not sure why these idiots bring their own drinks into a bar. So dumb lol

This may the only gay bar left on Long Island, and maybe this why this place is so outdated and living in the 70’s To me it’s a bar just to get out and somewhere to go, but the bar is limited on liquor, the place still have a jute box, no entertainment. So it’s just a place nothing exciting. There is no competition because if there was this place would be done!!

James, he always brings a positive attitude to the table Whenever I visited with my partner and my friends to support the LGBTQ bar business for many years since 2021 but this week I had a bad experience with a new bartender guy he doesn’t have bartender skills experience that much also he showed a bad attitude toward the table when I mentioned him you did a mistake on my drinks, he told me to leave the bar right away, I was very disappointed after I got treated like this, I've been going over the last 4 years with my partner and so many friends from Long Island, from the city, this is how I got treated at the end now, me and my partner, and our friends all over NYC will no longer visit anymore. James we will miss you❤️.
The place is a total dump. The owners are rude and cheap. They play. bingo against you to prevent you from winning a drink. The owner freaked out tonight because three people won a drink on one bingo. The outside of the place is dirty and totally outdated. The only reason people go there is because it’s the only option on Long Island. I suspect they will be out of business soon. This mismanaged dirty bar has no future.
