Great experience at When in Bangkok! The Zabb Wings were super flavorful and crispy. The Tom Yum soup was perfect for a cold day — warm and comforting. The cocktails were beautiful and delicious, and the Thai tea was a must. If you love duck, don’t miss the pineapple curry duck — such a great combination of sweet and savory. Highly recommend!
Honestly, consistently some of the best food in the area. The crab fried rice is a must try. The fish/garlic sauce they have with it is so flavorful, it's astounding. They also have a cocktail called Meet Me At Siam, that they seem to have discontinued which is unfortunate. Great strawberry smoothie cocktail! Could try asking for it, they probably would have the ingredients.
This place is very clean and bright, and the food tastes really good. There’s almost nothing that would disappoint. After the meal, you can also order a small dessert — it’s very cute too.
I recently dined at When in Bangkok and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time! The atmosphere was warm, clean, and beautifully organized you can tell right away that they take great pride in keeping everything spotless and inviting. The food was absolutely incredible every dish was full of authentic Thai flavor, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. You can truly taste the freshness of the ingredients in every bite. The drinks were just as impressive, everything tasted amazing and complemented the meal perfectly. The presentation of the drinks was elegant and clearly made with care and attention to detail. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional customer service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They checked in at the right times, made great menu suggestions, and ensured that everything was perfect throughout our visit. It’s rare to find a place where the team seems so passionate about making guests feel valued, but this restaurant truly does it right. Overall, When in Bangkok deserves every bit of praise. Between the delicious, high-quality food, the refreshing and well crafted drinks, the spotless environment, and the outstanding service, it’s a restaurant that goes above and beyond. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone I know. If you’re looking for an authentic, flavorful, and unforgettable Thai dining experience this is the place to go!
My friend and I came here for dinner at When in Bangkok on Northern Blvd, Flushing . The interior is cozy and the staff were friendly. Every dish we tried was delicious, especially the Tom Yum soup—it was so rich, flavorful, and perfectly aromatic. Definitely a spot I’d recommend and revisit!

I really enjoyed their ambiance and atmosphere; it was a perfect dinner with my friends. Every dish was exquisite, and I will definitely come again.
Had a great lunch at When in Bangkok on Northern Blvd in Flushing. Even past lunch hours the restaurant was still filling up — definitely a good sign. Tried a few of their winter specials and signature dishes: Tom Yum Ramen Hot Pot: rich, aromatic, with just the right level of spice. Soft Shell Crab Karee: crispy soft-shell crab in a creamy curry egg sauce — comforting and delicious. Pineapple Curry Duck: my personal favorite! The roasted duck was tender, and the red curry with pineapple and basil had the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savory. For drinks, we had the Cha Manao and the Passion Fruit Mojito, both refreshing and well-made. Bonus: happy hour cocktails are only $11 before 5pm!! Service was friendly, the vibe was great, and the food is absolutely worth coming back for — especially the pineapple curry duck. Highly recommend!
The food was a pleasant surprise! The fish was fresh and tender, with a refreshing kick from the lime and chili. The curry was rich and aromatic without being heavy, and the spices were well balanced. The meat dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Beautiful presentation and a cozy atmosphere — a great spot for dining with friends. Will definitely come back!❤️
recently visited When in Bangkok and had a really nice experience. The dishes were flavorful, portions were just right, and everything tasted fresh. The space feels cozy and welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great spot for Thai food — I’d definitely come back and try more dishes!
I’m obsessed with the Tom Yum noodle soup from here! I usually get take out but the staff is very nice when we pickup/order. The vibe is great, they have a good amount of seating, in the nice weather months they have a patio too. We eat here possibly like once a week or every other week. My partner has gotten quite a few things and he is always satisfied with the food! It’s a little pricey but the serving size is good, I usually split my meal into 2. I also recently tried the churros with pandan sauce - delish. My roommate is vegetarian and she likes the green curry with tofu, so they have vegetarian options! All over great place!
Had a great time here at When in Bangkok. Service was exceptional.. the pineapple duck curry was amazing! The raw shrimp salad had amazing flavor as well. The flavor of the dumpling was shockingly flavorful being that there was no meat & that’s usually my preference. Will be coming back here
Whenever I’m craving Bangkok flavors, When in Bangkok is always a reliable choice. This time, the highlights were the curry roasted duck — crispy skin, tender meat, and perfectly balanced Thai spices — and the seasonal pumpkin fries, which were light, sweet, and surprisingly addictive. The crab fried rice also stood out with generous, fresh crab in every bite, making it both comforting and satisfying. Overall, the food was well-executed, the ambiance was lovely, and it’s a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends. Definitely a place I’d come back to.
My husband and I visited When in Bangkok on a Saturday night looking to fulfill our Thai cravings and were not disappointed. Not only did our food come quickly (no joke maybe 10mins) but it was also absolutely delicious and reminded us of our trip to Thailand a few years ago. We had the Crispy Pork Belly (basil), Chicken Panang Curry, and Beef Pad See Ew. The cocktails & mocktails were just as tasty — we got the Cha Manao and Kiss of Lychee which was a Fall special. The dessert (Thai Tea Sizzling Roti) caught others attention as the smell of the sizzling thai tea was hard to miss. Kitty was our server and was very kind and took care of us. Would definitely recommend to others and would come again.
I came here twice in two weeks because the food is that good. The place serves authentic Thai food and I love the happy hour deal. As a college student when i see a discount I’m more inclined to come back. I’ve never tried oysters before so I tried some and now I order them every time. They serve the oysters on a platter of ice with some lemons, a spicy sauce, fried onions, and a homemade sour sauce. They have various dishes to choose from and I’m set on trying all of their curry dishes. But be warned the serving size is a bit big so be prepared to take some home. But when the place is empty the service is a little slow, sometimes hard to catch someone to order more or get the check. Although they have a lot on the menu, it makes me want to come back and try all of them.
Amazing experience coming here for Thai food! Authentic and it felt like food you would have in Thailand. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice cozy spot to have a dinner with a friend! Atmosphere is perfect with decor that matches the inviting feeling 🤩 good quality was great! I was too hungry to take photos, but trust me the food is fabulous! Will be back again, thanks again Nancy, for the excellent service.
The food was exceptional and arrived promptly. Our server, Lego, provided outstanding service, demonstrating helpfulness, kindness, and patience. Even when an order did not meet my expectations, he went above and beyond to make the situation right at checkout, which was unexpected. I will definitely return and hope to see him again. The location is clean and the atmosphere is welcoming, creating a relaxed and enjoyable vibe for friends, family, and casual dates.
From start to finish everything was on point, the food we ordered consisted of wings for starters, coconut ramen soup and Basil fried rice and pad kee mao, everything was really good served with good portions and specially the customer service by Lego and Nancy they were so welcoming and great hosts. Overall great experience. (It was my birthday dinner and they also came with a surprise at the end which was very heartfelt). Definitely will come back. 10/10⭐️

This place gets busy sometimes so I recommend you make a reservation. Food was very good, especially the jumbo shrimp pad thai and the duck. Their portions were a nice size. The tom yum soup was just okay. Atmosphere is a bit loud so it’s hard to hear sometimes but not terrible.
This Thai restaurant in Flushing offers not only classic Thai dishes but also some unique options you don’t usually see. The interior is very cute and stylish. The food was delicious, and they also have a bar with a wide variety of cocktails. Many of them are beautifully presented and fun to try. For dessert, I had the Thai iced tea ice cream with churros, which was amazing and quickly became one of my favorite desserts. It’s a place where you can enjoy both the atmosphere and the food.
We love the food and the atmosphere. You can ask to adjust the "heat" to your taste. Beautiful plating. Bright and cheery room, and helpful, attentive service. Reasonable prices.
