Had an injury that left me physically unable to come in and use my birthday coupon. I called ahead asking if they would honor my coupons that expired a week ago, to which they agreed! I came in right after & was greeted with a warm welcome, given a table to accommodate my walker & walking distance, and enjoyed a wonderful lunch. Taylor was my waitress, and she was not only polite and attentive, but she was knowledgeable and great with providing service. After my meal, we struck up a conversation where she listened to my personal experience with my injury and she was kind and comforting to talk to. Overall I am thankful for this restaurant and the level of care they provide beyond the dining experience. They make sure you feel at home and comfortable while in their establishment. I will always recommend Eddie Merlot’s to my friends, family, and real estate clients.
A delightful experience with my mother for my birthday. The head waiter made us feel very comfortable and took excellent care of us. The steak for my salad was delicious and perfectly paired with the salad ingredients. The dessert was good and I greatly appreciated the added detail of a birthday candle to make it special. The waiter kindly packed an extra sweet for me to take home and enjoy the next day. Amazing atmosphere and friendly staff made it all a great experience! I recommend visiting.
Kristina at the Fort Wayne Location was our server and she is always top notch in professionalism and friendly, on-point service. She makes the Eddie Merlot experience a wonderful one- she is the reason we come back as often as we do for a nice meal!:) the food and ambiance is great as well.
Food was delicious! The 2 for 99 deal is completely worth trying. Misty was the best server, she told us all about the meals, was super funny and kept our drinks full.
Misty was our server who did a fabulous job making our first experience at Eddie Merlots very memorable! The food was incredible. The manager, Tim, also came over to thank us for dining with them and offered us a free piece of carrot cake!! Best day ever!
We had dinner here while visiting from VA. The food was very tasty. I rarely get my stake, which I like "rare" right. It was right on point!! I was surprised by wedge salad. Presentation and ingredients were nicely pared. Cocktail selection also matched the overall level of the restaurant. We will be back.
We came to Eddie Merlot's for Restaurant Week and they did not disappoint. The food looked amazing and tasted delicious. The atmosphere is unique but cozy. I look forward to returning some time.
We enjoyed our Thanksgiving Dinner at Eddie Merlot's this year. We were able to secure a reservation and were seated shortly after our reserved time. Our server was friendly and was able to offer recommendations. They had a special thanksgiving meal and their full menu was available as well. We were seated in the bar and the atmosphere was cozy and felt a little more private than the room. It was a great night and will definitely have to come back for dinner again.
Seven of us enjoyed dinner here yesterday. As usual, it was wonderful. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We started with appetizers of the crab cakes, sweet & spicy shrimp, the BBQ shrimp, and the filet mignon potstickers. All of them were delicious! I tried the jambalaya for my entree on the Fire & Fresh menu. I didn’t realize it is served with a wide pasta rather than the traditional rice, which is what I would have preferred, but the flavor was still very good. Others in our group ordered and raved about the lobster Oscar filet, the rack of lamb, and the sea bass. The only side dish that disappointed was the jalapeno potatoes au gratin. Instead of a creamy white cheese sauce and plenty of jalapeno pieces, it had very little jalapeno and cheddar cheese. I would not order that again. EASTER BRUNCH BUFFET: This awesome buffet has everything! The one thing I do wish it also had is a couple choices of soup, for instance their clam chowder or lobster bisque. A gumbo would also be delicious!. We also went for the Mother’s Day Buffet today and it was almost as good. But the ladies did not get a rose today ( probably due to the tariffs increasing flower prices), or pictures. However, the cocktail sauce for the shrimp was more like catsup than cocktail sauce. I think they should offer a mild and a horseradish spicy options for the shrimp. I also wish they would have 2 crockpots of their clam chowder and lobster bisque soups! A seafood gumbo would also be a good addition. The service, as usual, was outstanding! When we were leaving, I asked to make reservations for their Father’s Day buffet and was told they don’t do a buffet for Father’s Day, they just open early that day. WHAAAAT???? Come on, Eddie’s, do a buffet for Father’s Day too! 12/2025: Our family of 8 celebrated our 56th anniversary at Eddie Merlot’s after Christmas. We ordered many of our favorite dishes: wagu filet, surf & turf, sweet potato casserole, sweet potato casserole, and the prime rib potstickers. We also tried a few others, including the Mac & cheese, tempura green beans, shrimp & scallops mojo and the lemon chicken dishes. Everything was delicious! However, I was disappointed that they changed the sweet and spicy dish presentation from a bountiful dish of small shrimp with sauce to only 6 larger shrimp and sauce. The tempura green beans were very good with the light batter and flavorful dipping sauce. We were not served the delicious round loaves of warm bread until I asked about it. It should automatically be served with the salads and/or appetizers! We also enjoyed a number of cocktails. I really like the lemon drop martini. The one martini that was just too sweet was the berry white martini. Desserts we ordered included crème brûlée and the brownie & ice cream with warm chocolate sauce and chopped pecans. We were also given a complimentary round chocolate cake for our anniversary treat. It was very moist and yummy. We always enjoy the ambiance and relaxing dining at Eddie’s!
Love this place. Always have. Nervous at first from hearing of new owners and their getting rid of a few of the favorites. Especially Tuna Tower which I absolutely loved ♥️. But the Tuna Won Tons didn’t disappoint. And the Caviar Service (pictured ⬇️) was amazing. Our son and his wife enjoyed Greatly! Steak is always on point. Thank you Chelsea for your serving, y’all Blessed this momma and her daughters on Mother’s day!!!
Misty took care of us! She remembered us. My wife and I dined on the last day of our anniversary month. Everything was delicious. We tried a new wine from a winery that we already know. It was great! Blindfold Blanc de Noir from Prisoner. My steak was cooked perfectly.
Mark was really awesome and made our dinner so much fun. All the food was great! Our stake and lamb was so tender. The carrot cake was HUGE and tasty. I would definitely go back!
If I could give more stars I would! First visit for our anniversary and loved it! Amazing food, great service and beautiful ambiance. Mark our server was awesome! They gave us a complimentary dessert (creme brulee) which was delicious!
Misty was awesome. She was a great server for my family. We had a reservation for 11 but half of them bailed. We had 6 people and they accommodated us. The staff was real friendly. Definitely recommend!!
Megan S was delightful, so fun & made my friends birthday a very special evening. I didn’t get the hostess’ name but she was also very sweet. 1000/10 would recommend, I love this place.
We came for our 3rd wedding anniversary. Our waitress, Misty, took great care of us. Attention to detail, food was excellent. And service above and beyond. Definitely a recommendation for special ocations.
We had a great anniversary dinner tonight. Misty was a great server! Kind, attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend and ask for Misty!
Misty was pir server and was very attentive to our needs. I ordered the wagyu ribeye, and I must say, it melted in my mouth. Best steak I have ever had. All the food was amazing. Drinks were relatively dangerous, exceptionally good, without really tasting the alcohol. Definitely recommend trying if you haven't.
Ms. Taylor was our waitress on our 2nd visit to Eddie Merlot’s and provided the best service we have had in ages! The meal was spectacular from appetizer to entree. Our appetizer was the crab cakes. They were cooked to absolute perfection! The flavors of the crab cake, sauce and corn bisque were so complimentary of each other. My husband ordered the bison and he said it was the best cut of meat he has had in years, his baked potato was extremely tender and the salt on the outside of the potato was the perfect touch. I selected the salmon, green beans and potatoes and from the presentation , I could tell I was in for a treat! We cannot wait to go back! Thank you to the Eddie Merlot’s team for a beautiful dining experience!
Misty was beyond excellent! Timely, warm, friendly, and on point! Perfectly cooked steak! Brought my 13 year old son to his first ever high end dining experience and they treated him so well! Thanks! Will be back soon.
Brought my little sister here to congratulate her on finishing high school. Such a sweet ambiance. Every server was so nice, especially Misty. The food was absolutely amazing.
Misty was a wonderful and attentive server! The food was prepared perfectly and delicious! We will definitely be back again.
I mean, this was incredible. The food was delicious, the ambiance was great, and the service was so nice. Especially our waiter, Candice. Treated us like friends.
First time coming here to Eddie Merlot's. Our waitress Rachel was very welcoming and explained the menu to us very well. She made a few recommendations such as the Sweet Spicy Shrimp and the Vanilla Cognac Brownie. Both was fabulous 👌. Rachel did very well checking on us and making sure our drinks were filled. She is a very sweet lady.
Jess and Olivia were our servers for the evening. Both ladies were absolutely spectacular with their knowledge and helpfulness as it was our first time visiting. Their suggestions were absolutely delightful and outstanding. The food was so delectable. Presentation states everything. Even the bathroom was clean and inviting.
This is always one of my favorite spots to celebrate a special event or just to treat myself. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the staff makes you feel at home. They have an intriguing selection of cocktails and the desserts always leave you wanting more. Can’t wait to visit this establishment again
Mark did a great job as a waiter. Super friendly and was on top of things. I got the 6oz filet mignon with mashed potatoes which was great! I also got king crab and corn bisque soup which was also very good. I also got the triple chocolate cake. All the food was great!
Had reservations on new years eve. We had to wait a few minutes but it was well worth it. Wedge salad with amazing blue cheese dressing and the filet I had was the most tender delicious cut of beef I've eaten in a long time. Service was excellent and knowledgeable. Surprisingly something that is rarely mentioned is their blend of black pepper was the best I've ever tasted. Referring to the freshly ground pepper from the server not the pepper at the table. Excellent dining experience.
Every morsel of food was delicious. We’ve lived in Fort Wayne 25 years and always thought it was too pricey to indulge. The Savor Fort Wayne menu made it possible to try this wonderful dining experience. We absolutely would return! The wait staff is on top of providing excellent service. Candace was so patient with our party of 4, allowing us to mingle with our friends for 4 hours, all the while checking on our needs. The background music was just the right sound level so that we could converse ( hence the 4 hour stay) and no one made us feel that we should leave. We so appreciated the courtesies extended to us.
My wife and I went for our 2 year anniversary, and couldn’t have been happier with the choice. Our server Rachel was fun and energetic with great recommendations for starters, main courses, and desserts. Rachel wasn’t pushy and more helped guide us to a wonderful night of food and drinks. The owner came by and asked us how the night went, and also mentioned our anniversary which was a nice little touch showing how much the place cares about the diners that go there. Loved the whole night!
Candace was amazing, I asked for a sweet red wine she in formed me they don’t have a sweet red but a sweet white to which I ordered loved it and asked her the name and she brought out the bottle so I could take a picture so I could find and purchase. Absolutely loved her so friendly and helpful.
Had dinner out with friends. Service and food was amazing as always. Our server Rachel was really great. Manager Tim was very nice and accommodating. He always takes good care of us. Will return many more times I'm sure.
It was Thanksgiving so they were swamped. Still the service was very good. The food was top notch. The Bison Filet was the highlight of the meal. Tender, rich, yet delicate flavor profile. Side of wild mushrooms was delectable. Drinks were classics. The deserts were delicious to the last bite and there was the perfect number of bites.
Dinner at Eddie Merlot’s was outstanding. We started with excellent cocktails and perfectly charbroiled oysters that set the tone for the night. The tomahawk ribeye with lobster tails was cooked flawlessly—rich, tender, and worth every bite. We paired it with a bottle of The Prisoner, which was spot-on. Wrapped it all up with the peanut butter pie and a double espresso, both killer choices. Rachel was the star of the night—outgoing, fun, attentive, and genuinely on top of everything. She made the entire experience even better. A+++ service across the board. Highly recommend.
My husband and I dined in over the weekend because we had gift cards from Christmas. Misty was our server and she took amazing care of us and made it a wonderful dining experience. The food was all delicious. The tuna appetizer is my favorite tuna dish in town!
My very first time there. The atmosphere was good the food was good and the service was even better. Dymond our waitress was very good. Definitely going back and asking for her again.
We celebrated my husband's birthday last night, and we had a wonderful dinner at Eddie Merlot's! We were greeted with a smile by Jackie at the hostess desk. Misty was our sweet, friendly and knowledgeable server. She was great! Her assistant, Drake, was very personable too! The food was delicious! So it all made for a very enjoyable evening!!
We went to Eddie Merlot’s for Valentine’s Day, and despite how incredibly busy it was, the experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish. There were delays with seating, which is totally understandable on such a busy night, but the hostesses were incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming, which made the wait much easier. Our server, Karol, was truly outstanding. She went above and beyond to make sure our experience was top notch and did everything she could to take care of us despite the delays. Her attitude, kindness, and effort made such a difference in our night. The food was phenomenal. My steak came out cooked exactly how I ordered it—perfectly done and full of flavor. My wife absolutely loved her ahi tuna steak and couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was. What really stood out was the management. Fritz, one of the managers, personally walked to every table to check on guests, making sure everyone was happy and asking if there was anything he could do to make up for the wait time. That level of care and attention is rare. On top of that, Tim Willis, the general manager, even comped part of our meal because of the wait, which was incredibly generous and appreciated. Even with the crowd and delays, the service, food, and hospitality were exceptional. Eddie Merlot’s truly knows how to take care of their guests, and this experience made our Valentine’s Day feel special despite the chaos of a busy night. We will absolutely be back!
From the moment I walked into Eddie Merlot’s with my wife, I was completely blown away by the environment and ambiance. The atmosphere was elegant, warm, and inviting, and the hostesses were the perfect first impression—professional, incredibly kind, and genuinely welcoming. Their positive energy truly set the tone for the entire evening. This was my first time dining here, but I could immediately tell that Eddie Merlot’s is going to become one of my wife and I’s regular dinner spots. Once we were seated, we were greeted by our server, Misty, who was absolutely wonderful. I don’t think I’ve ever been greeted so warmly and kindly within the first few minutes of sitting down at a restaurant. She made us feel truly valued and taken care of. We both ordered the filet mignon cooked rare, and let me just say—Eddie Merlot’s has the best steak in Fort Wayne. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. I also ordered the lobster mac and cheese, and wow… pure heaven on a plate. I was so impressed with the food that I asked Misty to give my compliments to the chef. To my surprise, manager Tim Willis personally came over to greet us and hear about our experience. That level of care and professionalism truly says everything about this restaurant. You can tell that every single staff member here has a deep passion for what they do, and it shows in every detail—from the service to the food to the atmosphere. We will absolutely be coming back, and next time I’m definitely saving room for the carrot cake Misty recommended. This place is truly something special.
My wife and I went for our anniversary and we could not have been more thrilled with our experience! The restaurant had a really great atmosphere that set the standard as soon as you walk in. Our server Candace was absolutely amazing! She was super attentive and really made us feel valued. Cassandra was also a pivotal part of making the night great! I REALLY want to thank the staff for making it an experience to remember. This was my first experience with wagyu and it did not disappoint at all! Everything came out at the perfect moments and the tastes were to die for. Highly recommended place for a special date night or whenever you can. We will absolutely be back again!
Our experience at Eddie Merlot’s was absolutely amazing. There was an issue with our reservation because I accidentally made it for the wrong day, and it was a very busy Saturday. I had really hoped to be seated near the fireplace — which I know is one of the most highly requested tables — especially because it was freezing outside and I had brought my senior mother with me. The hostesses could tell how disappointed I was, and they were nothing but kind, compassionate, and accommodating. They truly listened to me and went above and beyond to make sure we were seated right next to the fireplace. Once seated, we were greeted by our server, Mark, who was incredibly welcoming and kind. This was only my second time dining here and my mother’s first, and we had no idea what to order for an appetizer. Despite being very busy, Mark took the time to ask us about our preferences and really listened to what we were looking for. He recommended the filet mignon potstickers — and they were absolutely phenomenal. Exactly what we wanted. Throughout the entire experience, Mark kept us laughing with his jokes and positive energy. If you want an experience full of laughter, warmth, and great service, definitely request Mark — he made our night truly special. Our food was amazing, everything came out perfectly, and the service never missed a beat. The manager, Tim Willis, also came by our table to check on us and make sure we were enjoying everything, which we truly appreciated. We also had the pleasure of meeting another manager, Fritz, who was extremely kind and welcoming. I have never been to a restaurant with such an incredible staff and such consistently delicious food. The hospitality here is unmatched. I would absolutely recommend Eddie Merlot’s to anyone looking for a beyond-exceptional fine dining experience.
The service and atmosphere was on point. The food was amazing. I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary and she was blown away. The acoustic paneling made it very easy to talk even with it being a busy friday night. Our waitress was very polite and very attentive when it came to drinks and plates. The calamari here is better than most places I've been to. The creme brulee was also a highlight and is a perfect couples desert to end a night on.
Dinner at Eddie Merlot’s was absolutely wonderful. The entire experience felt full of class and calm. Despite being well attended, the atmosphere remained quiet and refined, making it perfect for meaningful conversation and an unrushed evening. The food was exceptional, beautifully prepared, flavorful, and clearly high quality. Every course felt thoughtfully done. Service was just as impressive: attentive, professional, and perfectly timed without being intrusive. Eddie Merlot’s delivers an experience that feels polished and intentional from start to finish.
We went to Eddie Merlot’s for my birthday, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the hostesses—and I was even told happy birthday without ever mentioning it myself because they paid attention to the notes I had written in my reservation. That attention to detail immediately made me feel special. I had requested a table in the bar, but I could tell it was extremely busy and highly requested, so I didn’t think it would be possible. The hostesses were more than accommodating and so kind about trying to make it happen anyway. They genuinely went out of their way, even cleaning a table for us so we could sit in the bar area. That alone meant so much to me. When we sat down, we were greeted by our server, Rachel, who also wished me a happy birthday. She was absolutely amazing—so kind, funny, and attentive. She made sure our food was perfectly prepared and brought out in a timely manner, even though the restaurant was clearly very busy. She truly made it feel like we were the only people in the restaurant when she talked with us, which is such a rare and special quality in a server. When my steak came out, I was honestly shocked at how perfectly it was cooked. I asked for it rare, and it was actually perfectly rare—not medium like so many other steakhouses tend to do. The food was so delicious that I honestly just wanted to keep ordering more from all the amazing options on the menu. On top of the incredible service from Rachel, the management was outstanding. Tim Willis and Fritz were both extraordinary—constantly checking on tables, making sure guests were happy, and ensuring everyone was having nothing less than an amazing experience. Their presence and care made the whole restaurant feel welcoming and well-run. This experience made my birthday feel truly special, and I’m so glad I chose Eddie Merlot’s over the other steakhouses in Fort Wayne. I felt genuinely welcomed, valued, and taken care of the entire night. I will absolutely be coming back.
Great service once we were seated. Lovely atmosphere with live acoustic music/singer. Food was mediocre. Drinks were great.
Sorry Eddie, you were very disappointing. I typically review positive experiences; however, our experience at Eddie Merlot’s was so entirely disappointing that it seemed relevant to leave a review. Some of the things that I mention may seem picky, however, collectively, when comparing Eddie Merlot’s to other higher end restaurant’s, such as Ruth’s, the details do matter. We had a reservation, and when we checked in, we were greeted by seemingly overwhelmed staff, wiping down menus at the front desk, with the mention among themselves “there are no clean silverware, no clean glasses”. Staff appeared to struggle with the check-in process for most of the guests, difficulty finding names or reservations within the system. After waiting for 30 minutes beyond our reservation time, we were told that they were running 35 minutes behind. At one hour past our reservation time, we were told it would be another 10 minutes. We saw numerous couples having to abandon their reservations due to the extensive wait time. Luckily, we did not have plans following, so we were able to continue to wait. At 1 hour and 8 minutes after our reservation time we were seated at a small teetering table just inside the dining entrance from the lobby, snuggly pinned between a wall and another table. Our waiter kindly apologized for the wait, and took our drink order. After approximately 20 or so minutes, our drinks arrived, the waiter apologized and notified us that they would be complimentary given the excessive wait which was appreciated. The drink was delicious, but the handle of my glass was so sticky, I had to wrap it in a napkin to hold it. Like not a little sticky, gorilla glue sticky. Bringing my mind back to the thoughts of no clean glasses…🤢 Anyway, our food finally arrived approximately 45 minutes after we ordered. Everything tasted as expected and seemed well prepared, but unfortunately, all things were cool or lukewarm at best. Our waiter returned during our meal, only to take her dishes and deliver the check. All in all, a very sad dining experience. Of course it seems so trivial to complain about a dining experience, it is just a meal. But when considering the investment in a night out, the time and the expense, how hard we work for those nice evenings out, I just think they could and should do better, so much better. Service should be courteous and professional, tableware should be clean, food should be hot. Don’t pretend to be exceptional and then deliver just at or below the standard.
Food was great, definitely not worth the price considering I've had better at local restaurants for half the cost. Service was excellent, our server was attentive and kind; she truly did a phenomenal job. However, the one thing that forces me to give them less than 5 stars is the wait time. We were not seated until 45 minutes past our reservation, did not receive our entrees until almost 2 and a half hours past our reservation time, and all together spent nearly 4 hours in the restaurant, mostly waiting in one form or another. While I understand that popular restaurants can be very busy at times, especially weekends and holidays; the idea behind this restaurant is that they provide a top tier service. If you're charging luxury prices and claiming to be a top of the line establishment, you simply cannot drop the ball this badly, ever. There is no scenario where this level of incompetence regarding speed of service can be justified.
Love they are open for lunch for the holidays, but my experience was NOT an experience, a rude experience... I expect from a place like Eddie Merlot's an awesome experience with good food and great service! Actually the last few times were bad, but today was very unpleasant! Received drinks that weren't ordered, but was charged and a server (not the waitress) who was horrible and very, very rude. People who pay to come to your restaurant expect quality and not a server who grabs a fork out of your hand! Lots of $$$ later for very bad day! So excited to give them my $$$ for a depressing bad time at Christmas time!
Horrible service from start to finish. I specifically asked for my steak rare because I knew they’d probably overcook it. The waiter insisted it wouldn’t happen, saying, “We’re not Ruth’s Chris—we cook way better.” I even mentioned how Ruth’s Chris always overcooks mine, but she doubled down: “Trust us.” So I said okay, I’ll trust you. The steaks came out way overcooked—medium-well at best. She just stood there looking lost. Smh. On top of that, service was painfully slow: over an hour to get food, 20minutes just for drinks. I had to ask for bread because they never brought any. It’s not like the place was even busy. Before the visit, I called ahead to arrange a special anniversary dessert with “Happy Anniversary” on it as a surprise for my wife. They told me, “We do it for free, no problem—we’ll have it ready.” I even asked twice to confirm because I wanted it to be a surprise. They said, “Rest assured, we’ve got it.” Guess what? No dessert appeared. The server came by later and casually asked, “Do y’all want dessert?” I had to explain that I’d already pre-ordered it. She looked confused, went to the back, and finally brought it out. Surprise completely ruined. She was passive-aggressive the entire night. I’m sitting there thinking, “whats wrong with her” as I’m trying to give her the benefit of a doubt maybe she’s just is having a bad day. Then she tried to comp me one $15 appetizer “for free” like it was some huge favor, and later claimed she also gave us the dessert for free (which was a lie—I’d been told it was always complimentary). Despite the awful experience—$300 bill—I still left her 20%. Class over chaos. Never again. This place is off my list for life. Atleast when I go to Ruth’s Chris it’s always pleasant the servers are always nice and very attentive. When they do mess up, they fix it immediately, plus do other things to make up for it.
I’ve never left a review before but I feel I must leave one here. I have dined at Eddie Merlots for years and had wonderful experiences and the food tonight was no exception. That being said, the service was absolutely terrible (importantly, I mean the server and not the bus staff). This is the second year in a row where I have dined here for Christmas and been over charged by $90+ on my bill. Last year I was charged for an entree no one ordered and this year an additional bottle of wine. While I understand that mistakes happen I find this two year coincidence extremely suspicious. I encourage anyone eating here to double, or ever triple, check your bill.
