Exceptional! We visited for lunch and enjoyed an amazing meal, from the moment we arrived to a warm, friendly welcome from the team and Charlie on the pass, a wonderful elegant and modern restaurant, the set menu provided a great option. The scallop starters were perfectly cooked, the lamb rump and the gorgeous lamb neck tartlet was a triumph, I would have happily ordered another serving! The sea bass was equally impressive with a sauce that definitely needed the spoon that was provided, to avoid a drop being wasted. All finished off with the honey affagato and a cheeky espresso martini. Probably a good job its not closer to home, it would be our go to restaurant. Thanks to Charlie and the team, Foye is incredibly lucky to have you. My pictures don't do it justice.

Outstanding – and how lovely to be welcomed in by Charlie from the pass. It was like meeting a superstar. Love that personal touch. All the staff were absolutely first class, and Narla deserves top marks for delivering exquisite dining… and that was just for lunch! Every dish was beautifully presented, and we thoroughly enjoyed each one. The restaurant itself is classy, with just the right music and a wonderful ambience. A special thank you for welcoming our dog and making such a fuss of him – it really added to the experience. This restaurant is without doubt the best in Fowey. Truly the jewel in the crown!

Wow, wow wow. This place so deserves a Michelain star. Food was sublime. The service exceptional. The potato crackers were out of this world. Such care and attention to the presentation. Very pretty dishes. The steak tartare was exceptional and the best cheeseboard presentation. Will return next time I visit fowey. What an asset to such a lovely place.

Narla is without a doubt my current favourite restaurant in Fowey, the atmosphere, the food and the service are perfectly crafted. It is clear that Charlie loves the food he cooks and equally enjoys seeing people appreciate his work. This is a more pricy restaurant with 3 starters, 3 mains, 3 desserts, 2 cocktails and a bottle of red wine coming in at around £280. Worth every penny. I also recommend you try the bread as it is simply fantastic! We will certainly be visiting again.

A Truly Memorable Evening at Narla – A Rising Star in Fowey My wife Grace and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Narla in Fowey, and from start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Despite being a new addition to the town’s dining scene, Narla already feels like a well-established gem. The restaurant is housed in a beautifully renovated building that effortlessly blends charm with contemporary elegance. The atmosphere was warm and inviting — the perfect setting for a relaxed yet refined evening. We enjoyed a superb three-course dinner, each dish thoughtfully crafted and packed with flavour. It’s clear that the kitchen is driven by a serious culinary vision; the food will certainly attract the Michelin critics in short order! Every plate was a balance of creativity and precision, showcasing high-quality ingredients and real attention to detail. Equally impressive was the service. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Their attentiveness added to the overall sense that Narla is aiming high — and achieving it. We left thoroughly impressed and already planning a return visit. Narla is a restaurant to watch, and we feel lucky to have experienced it so early in its journey - Highly recommended. Thanks to Charlie, Leah and the team. Keep up the good work! (PS. Sorry about the rubbish pictures!)

Wow!! I went for lunch with my family and the food was amazing, they were so welcoming and our dog / puppy came along as well. Everything about the food was so yummy, my family are big foodies and we all agreed that this is the best restaurant we’ve eaten at in a long time! Can’t wait to go back.

Wow! What a beautiful gem of a place. Excellent service, a warm welcome to us and the 2 dogs by all the staff. Lovely clean open kitchen. Amazing food. Nothing rushed and too much trouble. The best oysters ever as well as everything else we had. It’s almost like a tapas as food comes out when it’s ready rather than all at once but that’s a great way to relax and enjoy the place. Upstairs is so chilled and relaxed we could have sat there all afternoon. Charlie even took time from his busy kitchen to share his recipe with us on one of the dishes and it is clear he really takes pride in what he does. Thank you for a lovely lunch. Nichola & Sime

What a superb meal! As keen Masterchef fans we were very excited to see that Charlie had opened up Narla in Fowey and were keen to book a table, they are busy but we got a table on Sunday and were very much looking forward to it. I can say we were not disappointed. The venue is really nicely laid out and you can watch Charlie and the team at work which was really enjoyable. The front of house staff were excellent, super friendly and welcoming, polite, respectful and knowledgable, special thanks to Kirsten for her service throughout the meal. The menu was really good, showcasing a lot of local produce and to be fair well priced. The food itself was delicious from the first bite to the last mouthful! Charlie himself took the time to come out in lulls of service to meet with some of the customers and kindly came over to say hi to us, again friendly welcoming and genuinely pleased that we had enjoyed our meal, such a nice guy, so nice to see a local couple bring another first class dining experience to Fowey. Absolutely would recommend and will come back!

Amazing place, the staff are very polite and very friendly really makes the place feel like home, they were very attentive and obviously care for their customers. The food was absolutely amazing the flavours were so good I didn't even know that food this good existed, and it was a very comfy and welcoming atmosphere. It was an amazing treat to eat there, would definitely recommend.

As a fan of Professional Masterchef, and living in Cornwall, I was excited to read that Charlie (finalist from 2023) had opened a restaurant in Fowey We went with friends for Saturday lunch, two days after it opened, and it seemed as if it had always been there - so well managed! The welcome was wonderful and the food looks and Tastes absolutely stunning. The set menu is great value and there is a choice of fish or meat or veggie for each course Attention to detail is wonderful and the staff are so lovely and clearly proud of where they work As they should be. I can’t wait to go back The wine list is great too - we had some delicious Cornish Chardonnay - and good prices. I live on the north coast but this is so worth a regular trip to the south coast. A visit to Fowey is always a lovely treat, it’s so pretty and such great walking (we walked round st Catherine’s point after lunch) but we will be visiting more often now. Narla is excellent - feels and looks really special but with £30 set 3 course menu is amazing value too

Went there for my son's birthday whilst on holiday. The restaurant has a cosy atmosphere, and the open kitchen really adds to the experience. The food was delicious and we got to learn a lot about it, along with the history of the restaurant and the team themselves. Overall very pleased!

Tonight we visited Narla restaurant in Fowey, and it was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious, every course. The ambience was relaxing, the staff so welcoming and friendly. The Chef, Charlie Walters and his lovely wife Leah, were charming and made our evening feel special. Can't wait to return. 😋

By far a massive favourite. We celebrated our anniversary at Narla and the food, the service, the setting.. absolutely perfect. A breath of fresh air in Fowey and the whole of Cornwall. The menu is so well put together, paired with perfect service. We can’t wait to go again. Also can’t wait to go for a casual drink and sit at the Lounge upstairs. It is cozy and beautifully set up. Impressed by this new little gem of Cornwall ❤️

We ate at Narla on Sunday evening. The food was exceptional. What a fabulous restaurant to have in Fowey. Staff are particularly aware of any dietary requirements and Charlie produces an amazing menu. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.

We were lucky enough to visit Narla a couple of weeks ago and what an amazing time we had! The restaurant itself is bright and modern. The staff are so friendly and helpful but the food was out of this world! We could not pick our favourite part! Highly recommend it!

We were a big group of people for a team dinner. Despite not being used to large groups they did amazing. Food was exquisite, service was attentive and the place charming. I recommend the pavlova, best I have had in my life. Congratulations Charlie and team!

Fantastic restaurant! My husband and I went for lunch and had the three course set menu. I had the plant based options from the set menu…my courses appeared to have the same amount of thought put into the flavours as the meat based options. This I really appreciate! Truely the most delicious food we have both had in a long time. Gorgeous flavours and obvious care taken with presentation. Service was excellent. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. Very impressed with the overall experience. Highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning. Lovely staff and amazing food. It was all so efficient you'd never have known they'd only been open 3 days - and they were full. I have to agree with the other comments - was probably one of the best meals we've ever had. A great addition to Fowey. We wish Charlie and his team every success x

Quite exceptional. 4.9 out of 5 does not do justice to how good this is. Superb flavours and ingredients, attentive and friendly service. A good atmosphere on an otherwise quiet Monday night in Fowey. We have eaten in many good French restaurants overs the years and this is up there with the best. A must visit.

Just had a perfect evening at Narla by Charlie Walter’s. Everything was perfect. The food was delicious, well plated and just enough to be satisfied. My boyfriend enjoyed his wine, the service was impeccable, the decor was modest and smart, the atmosphere was relaxed yet the service punctual and attentive . My boyfriend is Vegan and his food was equally as stunning and delicious as mine. 10/10, so we’re back on Thursday for a final holiday meal. Highly recommended

We have been a few times to Narla. It just keeps getting better. Charlie produces an exceptional menu with novel combinations. Feels like Fowey of old when Nathan Outlaws started his journey here.

Had a lovely experience at Narla. Well decorated, dog friendly, amazing service. The food was on point. Everything I tried was unique and amazing. The boneless chicken wings were my favourite.

Tucked away on Fore Street in Fowey, Narla is one of those rare finds that nails it on every front. The room has that balance of warmth and polish you hope for but rarely get - comfortable enough to relax, smart enough to feel special. The menu is great value, with dishes that show real care in both flavour and presentation. Charlie Walters clearly knows how to make the most of Cornwall’s best produce, and it shows in every plate. Service is spot-on - friendly, switched-on, and unpretentious. They know the menu inside out, and the timing is just right. It’s the kind of place where you leave feeling looked after, not just served. Add in the dog-friendly welcome, a decent wine list, and a menu that’s as considered as it is satisfying, and Narla easily earns its place as a must-visit when in Fowey.

Really good meal at Narla for 6 of us on Friday evening. Excellent flavours and fusion of different components to each dish. All originally and beautifully presented. Good luck and thank you to the whole team.

We visited Narla whilst on holiday for an evening meal. It was the culinary highlight of our holiday. From the warm welcome as we entered the restaurant and watching chef Charlie and his team prepare the dishes, it was a fantastic experience. The staff were lovely (particular mention to Jazz who looked after us predominantly). Our choice of food was exquisite. Charlie came over to chat to us after our meal was finished. This is fine dining with care, flair and finesse and that comes at a cost but for a special occasion it was very deliciously memorable!

Absolutely amazing restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was great. Would highly recommend if visiting Fowey. Only read the story behind this restaurant after we had dinner and now even more impressed by the young family run restaurant. Added bonus was the treat for our dog.

Our second visit to this most gorgeous of restaurants. Every single thing about Narla creates an ephemeral feeling of excellence. There is a synergy of individual elements, each of which is perfect, from the welcome, to the well designed decor, to the ambience which makes you expect something special. Then the food arrives, Charlie's team prepare food with a care and precision which is rarely seen anywhere else. Charlie works under the premise "the sum of the parts is greater than........." The flavours, textures and look ofthe food is quite frankly the very best we have ever eaten. A wonderful addition to the South and East Cornwall food landscape.

Loved the food, the atmosphere and the team! Felt very welcomed, do not hesitate to ask about the menu and drinks as a lot of time and effort goes into creating such fine dishes and the waitresses were very passionate when talking about them. The chef personally delivered the desserts to us and told us all about them. A perfect mixture between fine dining and sitting at a friend's table. Totally recommend!

My husband and I had a delicious and memorable anniversary dinner at Narla. From the moment we walked in (slightly late!) the front of house team were so welcoming and on point throughout (we also found a very sweet happy anniversary card at our table signed by the whole team!). The food itself was up there with one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Cornwall (having been born and brought up there, now live in London) and certainly Fowey. Must haves are: the cod cheeks nibbles, tuna tartar starter and the lamb main. Exceptional. I really hope Narla manages to corner the local market as the go to destination in mid Cornwall for special celebratory meals / get together with friends to keep going beyond the summer season and be with us for good! You can do it! Thanks again Charlie & the whole Narla team

From the moment you step inside, the cozy and inviting decor sets the perfect ambiance for a relaxed yet upscale meal. The attention to detail in the design creates a warm atmosphere that’s ideal for everything from intimate dinners to celebratory occasions. The food is nothing short of fantastic. The menu features a variety of options, all prepared with high-quality ingredients, ensuring every bite is full of richness and depth. Whether you’re a fan of classic dishes or adventurous new flavors, this place has something to offer that will leave your taste buds thoroughly satisfied. Equally impressive is the service. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is a priority here, which adds to the overall charm of the restaurant. In summary, this spot combines exquisite food, exceptional service, and a cozy, stylish setting to create a dining experience that stands out. Whether it’s a special occasion or just a night out, this restaurant is sure to impress.

A really enjoyable lunch , restaurant a little quiet but the staff and open view of the kitchen compensated for this . A visit to our table by Charlie was a welcome treat . Food delicious, presentation outstanding . I wish the restaurant and Charlie in particular all the very best .

My partner & I celebrated my birthday at Narla. Every mouthful was a absolute taste sensation, we were so impressed with the presentation of the all dishes & every mouth watering bite. We felt very well looked after by the knowledgeable & very warm & friendly staff. Charlie was brilliant, it was really lovely to experience his passion in food, he is an incredibly talented Chef, and has done a superb job with his beautiful restaurant & his team are wonderful. Thank you so much for my birthday card signed by all the team & my additional personal message from Charlie 😀 We can't wait to return 😊 Hannah & Lewis

Difficult restaurant to review as the food was excellent but the service was disappointing. The service was attention but felt forced and not very genuine. The low point of the meal was when asking to change the crackers accompanying the cheese platter for bread, we were informed that we would need to pay for the bread separately. Disappointing in any circumstance but particularly here where the amount spent was substantial. This simple question seemed to unsettle the waiting staff further and resulted in an uncomfortable end to the night. The scallops, lamp and lamb posset were faultless.

We went to Narla Fowey expecting something special! but we were disappointed with the food, the portions and considering the price point a rip off. The girls serving were pleasant enough but the overall atmosphere was stuffy and unfriendly.

D
Dan P

Had dinner here about a week ago and have to say the food was excellent. Dinner for two was about £150 including a couple of glasses of wine and the quality of the food justified the price. What let the restaurant down a bit was the service. The waiting staff were all very pleasant but were trying too hard and it felt very scripted and not natural - I just wanted to tell them to relax! For example calling female clientele 'Madam' is not necessary, it's not 1950. There was an issue with bill which was resolved but gave the owners an opportunity to chat to us. Instead we were left in silence. It wasn't busy in the restaurant either. For the price I'd expect better. Overall great food and hopefully the service will become more natural and help the overall ambience and atmosphere.

Mark Taylor

I was really excited to try Narla but sadly was left really disappointed. It’s expensive, but that is no problem if the food is tasty but all four of us were hugely underwhelmed. The service was hurried and got irritating by the end of the meal. The atmosphere is non existent. It was a millions time better as Appleton’s. There are so many better places to eat in Cornwall at this price point.
