The parathas are a no-brainer. Pretty much any of them. They are big (huge), taste amazing, and fill you up for two meals. The restaurant has faithful clientele - the location is great, the food is great, no fuss service (no waiting staff really). You order at the counter, and you pick up your own water, etc. The place is never crowded nor is it even empty. So if you don’t have a dinner at home and want some great Punjabi food, this is a quick in-and-out eat-in place. But for a food
Great food, fresh ingredients, great tasting chai The paneer wrap was great, Cholle had lots of flavor and Bhatura was fresh soft with crispy shell
What a great little hidden gem. It is situated in a strip mall next to an Indian shop that sells cell service and other things and on the other side a tea shop. You are greeted by a couple of display cases of sweets when you walk in. You need to walk to the back to place your order and then your order is brought out to you. In another corner is the silverware and plates that you need to grab yourself. There are also a couple of pitchers of water there. The water was really warm which was not very refreshing. The food itself was delicious but a little spicy if you are not accustomed to spices. The garlic naan was superb! Would come again next time we are back in the area.
Tasty Indian popular snacks at affordable price. Loved their paapdi chaat😋.
Decent place to grab a quick bite and chai, coz sometimes you just need that for a little pick-me-up! We tried masala chai, dal kachori chat and dahi papdi chat. I would say entire order was ready and delivered to our table within 3-4 min. The taste was decent, chai was mildly sweet with extra sugar available on table, just how I prefer it. Both the chats had enough yoghurt and chutney, so they didn’t feel dry at all. Good balance of spices, and a little on the sweeter side. Overall the experience was great for a snack I would say! It’s a simple, fuss free restaurant. I hope you too find something good here for yourself! 👏 👏
Great place. You orderabd you have it ina minute or two. Good taste Samosa chaat -9/10 Dahi papdi - 8/10 Poori aaloo - 9/10
We had gol gappe (pani puri) and vada pav from here. The gol gappe pani was on point! It was spicy but not unbearable and the imli (tamarind) chutney with the pani was perfect. The sholay (beans) and aloo (potatoes) were fresh. The vada pav was probably the best I've had in a while! Mostly I find vada pavs on the dry side everywhere but this one had spices and sauce...it was on the slightly sweeter side. The hari mirch (green chili) can cancel out the sweetness if that's not your thing. The vada and pav were very fresh. The service was fast. The decor is cool and they had 90s Bollywood songs playing the back. Overall, it was a very good experience with the food and I look forward to returning and trying more of the chaats here.
We ordered a thali, chole bhature and dahi sev puri. Both were good and overall still one of the most affordable Indian restaurants around with good quality food. In the past we have tried their makke di roti and sarson saag which is really good and one of the highlights.
For people allergic to suburban strip malls, the wonderful chaat house is well worth the freeway drive and is even only one mile from the warm springs Bart station so it’s completely bike-able! Chaat house was featured in the sf chronicle chaat overview of the Bay Area and has a front sweets bakery, range of chaats snacks and yummy revolving thali, all delightfully vegetarian and delicious. The place hits the spot and is a short driving distance from some epic bike trails. Kicking back to thali with the variety of delicious foods while watching retro Bollywood movies is just the best especially after a 20 mile bike ride late in the night. The spices are especially delicious, forget that the location is a strip mall, and eat down! We especially loved the bhel thali 😍😍😍 If you have a bike you can avoid driving altogether (maybe stick to sidewalks) as the Bart is nearby 😎
Amazing live pani puri counter!!! Gaggu served the panipuris nonstop. If you’re in the area, must try this place!
Have been visiting and taking out from this place for many years now! It’s always consistent and fresh! It has a Indian homely feel and pretty clean! It’s my Go to for a veg place for any day! Chaats, thali, parathas are all great A great quiet place with good ambiance to catch a quick bite/small Plates/chaat whatever you like.

I go here to eat the thali and have been there about 5 times. They have phulka roti and choice of chai or chaas, which i like. The food quality is good, they serve promptly, its only 30% occupied at 230pm, but only cons I see, the thali menu is constant and no variation. They should vary the sabzis, am sure Punjabi food has variations. Thali is less than $19 including tax.

This review is from a visit earlier in the year, when our group stopped by Chaat House just for appetizers. Unfortunately, the experience wasn’t as great as we had hoped. The appetizers didn’t taste very fresh, and it definitely took some effort for everyone at the table to dig in and finish what we ordered. It may have just been an off day, but it left us a bit underwhelmed. That said, I’m open to giving them another try. The place is well-known and popular, so I’m hopeful that a future visit may offer a better experience. I’ll likely return to see how it compares next time.
-Chilli pakoda was good, But over fried -Sev puri not appetizing .Stale puri & stale sev. -Pav bhaji is good
The quantity was pretty amazing here. There were quite a few options on the menu. The food tasted average, nothing too spectacular.
The food is just average. Ordered Vada pav, Pav bhaaji, bhel puri, and Thaali. Pav bhaaji and Vada pav both lacked the original flavor and taste. Would even call the pav bhaaji bland. The food sure looks yummy but is very deceiving. The service was good is a major contributing factor in this 3 star rating. Not coming back.
Prices are decent but food is just average. The pani poori water had an oldish taste, the kadhi tasted of turmeric with pakora being the only good part. No other sabzi had good taste. Rotis were good. Bhel was not bad but not as good as expected. Otherwise clean place to dine at.
Went to try out this place due to the excellent reviews and returned back disappointed. I found the food very ordinary, lacking taste and originality. Had ordered Bhel Puri and Alloo Tikki's with Cholle. Both dishes lacked ingenuity and honestly any street hawker in India will and does a better job (in lesser time). Otherwise the restaurant outlet is centrally located in Fremont and relatively easy to locate. The interiors were clean and tidy but could do with a make over (with the recipes and aesthetics which is kind of dated now).

Tried the chaat and the pani puri & papdi chaat were super mid. Got an aloo/pyaaz paratha and it was amazing! Very yum! I think the menu has potential and they offer good stuff but the chaats need to be done better - the papdi chaat had wayyy too much sweet chutney and some super weird flavors. Pani Puri needs some more fillings and the pani could be better
Ordered veggie pakoda.. if the restaurants are failing to even serve the most basic appetizer, then I really wonder how are they even surviving the business.. refrying the already fried pakoda and serving is not what we went to this restaurant…the pakoda’s only had gram flour with burnt flavor.. terrible taste and experience..spoilt our evening
