A Flavorful Feast at Guma Gumalu – Highly Recommended! I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying a weekend buffet lunch at Guma Gumalu, and it was a culinary delight from start to finish! The variety of food, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, was incredibly vast. From tender shrimp, goat, and lamb dishes to delicious vegetarian options and appetizers — every bite was bursting with authentic Indian flavors. The salad selection was refreshing, and the highlight for me was the beetroot dessert (Gajar Halwa). It was out of this world — a perfect sweet end to a hearty meal. What made the experience even more special was the ambiance. With ample seating and a comfortable, pleasant atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxed lunch. The owners and staff went above and beyond, treating all guests with great care and making sure everyone was well looked after. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Guma Gumalu is a must-visit in Fremont. Delicious food, warm hospitality, and a memorable dining experience! I'll definitely be back. And it is Halal. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing food and amazing service! Garlic naan was flavorful, crispy and thin, and came out piping hot. The curries are able to be customized to your preferred spice level. Along with naans and curries, the South Indian breakfast specials are well made and available all day. Gumagumalu has become our go to place for reliable, classic South Indian fare. The recent addition of Naan to the menu make this restaurant an all around hit!

I ordered the Ghee Roast Goat Biryani and boy was it tasty. Very flavorful and the meat was very well marinated and could taste the ghee even on the rice. The egg was very tender and so was the yolk unlike other places. Even my child enjoyed it very much because it was not spicy. Keep up the consistency and we will come back soon!!

Food was good, but some were just warm. Good selection. Mango Lassi was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Seems very authentic and the place was nearly full for the Saturday Lunch Buffet. A couple next to us loved the food and commented the food was better than their food they grew up with. We should have gotten their earlier, not near closing. The men's bathroom needs to be cleaned, and the toilet set was broken. The water lines in the bathroom are reversed, (left was cold, right was hot).

Ragi Sankati and Andhra chicken curry are really good. Good service and ambiance Update: I used to visit this place mainly for the Ragi Sankati and Andhra Chicken Curry. On my recent visit, I felt the flavors had changed — it didn’t hit the spot like it used to. This has always been my go-to place for comforting, homely food, so I really hope they maintain their earlier standards.

It was little late and the closest open restaurant was gumalu and we were not disappointed by the their food and hospitality. We ordered egg curry, paneer, chapati, Malabar parota and masala dosa, all tasted good and matched our taste palette 👏👏. We took the remains as to go and were still good next day good job👍. On the Downside, the masala inside the dosa lacked the flavors, the lassi wasn’t upto mark. Washroom needed little sanitation. This is a fusion restaurant not sure why naan was missing.

I usually don’t like writing negative reviews, but I’m sharing this to hopefully save at least one person’s experience. • Veg Manchurian: just okay, nothing special. • Vijayawada Boneless Chicken Biryani: very disappointing. The rice didn’t taste fresh at all — it felt like old biryani reheated. The chicken pieces had more flour coating than actual chicken. • Badam Milk: this was frustrating. They replaced my $6 badam milk with a $1.50 soda without even informing me. I still don’t know how to claim my $4.50 back. • Coconut Jamun: this was the strangest dish. It was refrigerated jamun with no syrup and shredded coconut on top — it didn’t make sense as a dessert. Overall, the quality and substitutions were unacceptable for the price charged. Subject: Disappointed with Recent Dining Experience I recently ordered two 3.5-inch trays of biryani for my family, spending a total of $130. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the experience. Upon opening the trays, I discovered a hair in the biryani, which was quite unsettling. I value cleanliness and hygiene when it comes to food, and finding a foreign object in my order was not the experience I expected. I have attached a picture of the hair for your reference. I hope this concern can be addressed for the benefit of future customers. I believe honest feedback is essential for any business to thrive, and I look forward to seeing improvements.

Don’t usually write reviews but my experience was very bad. The biryani was pathetic - fried chicken (rock hard) with rice. Chicken gravy was also averaged- if you having long day and looking for good meal, this is not the place to go to. I hope they look into this and improve the consistency of food

We ordered the Vijayawada Paneer Biryani family pack and were disappointed. The biryani was overpowering with masala and lacked rice, making it tasteless. The Gobi Manchuria was too saucy and didn't impress. Only the babycorn Manchurian was liked by the kids. Due to the subpar experience, we won't be revisiting.

I had dinner at this restaurant last night and unfortunately, the food was not up to the mark. The new ownership seems to have affected the quality of the dishes. I ordered the Hyderabad Biryani, Ghee Roast Chicken, and Dosa, which took a whopping 30 minutes to arrive. The Ghee Roast Chicken was a letdown, with mostly bone pieces and not enough chicken to justify the price. The Biryani was dry and lacked flavor, and the egg served alongside was straight from the fridge - cold and unappetizing. However, the Masala Dosa was a redeeming factor, and my kids enjoyed it, especially the delicious peanut chutney. I shared my feedback with the staff during billing, but I'm unsure if it was passed on to the management. I'm writing this review to help others make an informed decision. Compared to the previous ownership, the food has taken a significant dip in quality. Hopefully, the restaurant will take my feedback seriously and improve their offerings. Until then, I'll be cautious about returning.
