We returned to Honest after year just to give another try. But was pleasantly surprised as food quality and taste was back to when it started. We tried Dahi sev puri, veg grilled sandwich, kattapa sandwich and topped with Gulkand kulfi in picture. Also 5 stars to service from Divya, our server for evening. Definitely coming back now.
I had a great experience at Honest! The food was delicious, but the service really stood out. Divya was a very nice waitress she was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this spot for both the food and the hospitality!
Great place for vegetarian street food! I tried the Dabeli, Dabang Dosa, and Kattappa Grilled Sandwich, and all of them were really flavorful and well made. Divya was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Would definitely come back to try more.
The restaurant is really good with a great atmosphere and delicious food. Our server Divya was wonderful—very friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. She even gave us a small treat, which was a really kind gesture and made our experience even better. Highly recommend this place!
We ordered aloo paratha and tawa pulav. Food was really tasty and fresh. I would highly praise server Divya, she helped with the recommendation and clarifying ingredients for the sandwiches. One feedback to restaurant owner would be adding ingredients lists to the menu items.
Consistently great food and top-tier service! A special shoutout to Ms. Divya for making our visits so pleasant. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic Western Indian style cuisine in Fremont
Ordered Bhelpuri and panipuri. Divya made and served Bhelpuri which was amazing and panipuri was good too.! Definitely recommend to try this place out.! Very clean and peaceful to sit and hangout.!
We had an amazing time, vadapav is to die for. Thanks to divya for making us try the mango lassi, absolutely loved it! We devoured in seconds
Excellent food. We have tried a variety of items here and everything was so damn tasty. We recently catered food from here and everyone loved the food and we emptied every single tray 😂 Service at the restaurant is also great every time we go. Today the person who helped us was Kush and he was such a dear and super friendly and helpful. Definitely a must try and a regular spot to visit
We’ve been here three times. Tried many different items on the menu- katappa sandwich, dabang dosa, rumali roti, … and their pao bhaji is the best. Good presentation. Service is quite quick. And most importantly, cleanliness, deserves 5 stars of its own!!
We recently went to Honest. We ordered a couple of snacks, one which we really liked and would love to have again is Masala Pav with Bhaji. The pav was tossed with spices and roasted crisp and served with a side of vegetable bhaji. It was delicious. Highly recommended to try this dish - 4.8/5. Service was great. Kush was very helpful and informative. 5/5
Awesome mumbayya food place in the heart of Fremont downtown. It's pure vegetarian. We ordered their signature dishes - Dabangg Dosa, Bhaji pav and triple schezwan fried rice- it comes with a yummy hot and spicy soupy gravy on the side. The taste and their service (Mr. Kush)is phenomenal. I generally don't like cheese in my dishes but this was so good. We asked and Kush told us it is Amul cheese. He also asked us our preferences and suggested the right dishes. I like that the food is not high on salt, so if you are someone who likes food salty, pls do ask. I give 100/ 100 for cleanliness. It is hard to find a desi place that is maintained so well. True to the name honest to goodness. I enjoyed a complimentary chikoo shake as well. Reminded me of good ol mumbai's street food.
Honest is a fantastic spot for authentic Indian street food! The flavors are rich, the portions are generous, and the quality is consistently great. Their pav bhaji is a must-try—perfectly spiced and incredibly fresh. The service is quick, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Highly recommend for a taste of Mumbai’s street food culture!
Honest is a gem for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine—you won’t be disappointed! The menu at Honest is a treasure trove of authentic Indian flavors.. We started with Indian loaded Nachos(an awesome fusion), kheema pav(just wow) and sev puri (extremely flavorful)!! For the main course, we had the honest special pav bhaji, kattappa sandwich, dabang dosa and hakka noodles!! The portion sizes were generous and spices were balanced perfectly. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable. One of our friends had jain paratha and bhakhri pizza..it tasted sooo good! Probably the best jain food she ever had! Much recommended!!
We had lunch here. The items were great. Manchurian was crispy. Noodles, french fries, milkshakes were awesome too. I felt that the quantity was pretty less. I think portions are bigger ion Honest Michigan as far as I remember.
Their Bombay chat, stuffed paratha options are good and very tasty. Indo Chinese tasted okay.
We tried several veggie options. All of them were above average. Service was excellent.
The sandwiches were excellent good. We tried several dishes, and everything was delicious. The masala tea was authentic and flavorful. Miss Divya took great care of us with her warm hospitality. Highly recommended!
The food was tasty and the pricing felt fair, but the portions could really use some love. The Gobi Manchurian came with exactly six pieces of gobi for 14.99$ and it was buried under a pile of bell peppers and onions felt more like filler than flavor. And for the Vada Pav, it was missing both mint and tamarind chutneys, which made it fall a bit flat. There’s definitely potential here, but a little more attention to detail would go a long way.
Visited on a Friday evening, just past 8:45 PM. There were already people waiting when I arrived, and I spent a few minutes figuring out where to sign in. Eventually, I found the tablet, signed up, and received a message with my queue position and a tracking link. The wait was about 30 minutes. When our turn finally came, others nearby jumped ahead and took the table meant for us. Fortunately, a few tables opened up around 9:15–9:30 PM, so we managed to get seated without too much more delay. Service was disorganized from the start. There were no clear instructions on how to order. We ended up scanning a QR code on the table number card and placed our order that way. We assumed water would be brought out after ordering—but it wasn't. We had to ask, and even then, the service was clumsy: one person brought a pitcher, another brought glasses, but no one coordinated. Our food came out in a strange order—the last item we ordered, falooda, arrived first. Next came the Katappa sandwich, which had three layers: aloo masala, mixed veggies, and what seemed to be a light cheese spread. We followed that with Hakka noodles and paneer Manchurian. The only highlight was the soft paneer. Everything else was underwhelming. The Manchurian gravy was watered down and lacked salt, and by the time the last of our food arrived, we were more frustrated than hungry. We ate quickly and left. Overall impression: Likely not returning. The food was average at best, service was chaotic, and the atmosphere was far from relaxing.
Honest Restaurant offers a wide variety of Indian snacks, filling a gap that was really missing in the local Indian food scene. My favorite dish here is the Katappa sandwich—it's topped with cheese, though you can ask them to go easy on it. They also serve Jaljeera, a very common drink in India but quite rare to find here, which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered dosa for my son, and it exceeded our expectations. Pav bhaji and sev puri were decent as well. Update: As we liked the restaurant we visited again on a Thursday evening. The food was at it's worst. The French fries with sandwich was stale. The Indo Chinese was no good, Gobi Manchurian was stale too. The promise of making fresh food very day faded away
Good place for families to visit. Small with limited capacity and good ambiance. The food however was disappointing at this location. We have tried other Honest locations in the past, and always appreciated the food. However, this time the chaats had yogurt base even in the samosa chaat with chole, the sandwich was mediocre. The indo-Chinese dishes were barely warm and tasteless. I expect a significant change in the recipes and hot dishes if they want to maintain the consistency of their brand.
The quality has deteriorated like anything. The bhakhri pizza barely had any cheese and was overcooked to the point of being burnt and tasting bitter. It’s sad tbh - I used to really like this place but might not come back.
Terrible experience, rude staff and unhygienic seating. We had gone on Saturday afternoon for lunch with family. We were forced to sit next to a filthy wall with visible food spills and stains. When we objected, the staff had the audacity to say, "Atleast the table is clean." That response alone tells you everything about their standards for hygiene and customer care. To make matters worse, there were multiple clean tables sitting empty, yet we were bluntly told we could not use them because we were 4 people and other tables were "for 5 people and "what if some other guests come." So instead of accommodating customers who were already present, they preferred to keep empty tables reserved for imaginary future customers. The staff was rude, dismissive, and unapologetic. The entire interaction made us feel like we were being served free food rather than paying customers. Eating next to a dirty wall is not acceptable in any restaurant, period. This place clearly lacks basic hygiene standards and customer service etiquette. We left disappointed, and shocked. Would not recommend this place to anyone who values cleanliness, respect, or basic decency
Very slow service. The employees and chef seemed unaware of the proper serving order for items. I went right when they opened at 11:00 AM, and on my last two visits, I specifically told them to serve my tea and maska bun first, followed by the rest of the food. Both times, they still served the tea and bun last, after everything else. I ordered a special grilled sandwich without butter, and it came out looking completely dry. The maska bun was also not fresh compared to what other restaurants in town serve. On top of that, the staff had a dismissive attitude, which was very disappointing. I would recommend visiting other restaurants in town for the same type of food.
Extremely poor service. Pav bhaji was good, but noddles are pathetic, completely uncooked veggie. The worst thing, they denied to serve us even when we were already seated and served us half of the food. One server tells us, we cannot serve you the ordered food because our kitchen got closed at 9.30, while online it says it’s closed at 9.45. Update: About capturing the complete picture, here is my order screenshot. Order placed at 9:40pm & this is my add-on order as I was already in the restaurant and placed my first order before 9:30pm and ordered food for the kids (2 yr & a 5 yr old). We came here because it said open till 9:45 & because it would be good for kids. SO MUCH FOR CALLING YOURSELF “HONEST”. It seems empathy is a myth these days & restaurants being specifically rude. I think we interacted with the manager or the owner - not sure but they showed a different face while we were at the restaurant & they were being sorry for the inconvenience. But this paints a different picture. Again, honest enough? Talking about discussion going towards catering, the ordering process is via the app using QR code-which was happening in the background as my husband was ordering it. Also, there were others preparing & serving the orders. So, instead of giving reasons you could’ve right up owned it. Anyway, it is what it is. P.s. the noodles for sure were the worst ever. It was veggies (raw onions, excuse me?) & namesake of noodles. No thank you, I’ll skip this restaurant.
