Stopped in for my first visit to Blufin for vegetarian sushi rolls and I was not at all disappointed. Ordered the yammy roll ans the supersonic along with veggie eggrolls, everything was delicious and tasted fresh. I definitely recommend checking Blufin out if you are vegetarian and craving sushi because there are several options to choose from. Also the service was fast and friendly. I'll be back to try more of the vegetarian sushi rolls soon.

I’ve been searching for a sushi place that puts the fish and customer ahead of anything! Jimmy is an incredible sushi chef, he is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The fish is art, even the rolls are beautiful. It’s incredible and a wonderful experience. Eat no where other than here. I know I’ll be back!

I love coming here. The people are nice, helpful and always willing to answer questions or offer suggestions. The food is great. I have to eat gluten free and have never felt bad eating here. They have regular, gluten free and vegan options. There are a lot of options and they are able to answer questions.

Great sushi! Was never a big fan, until I came in. Didn't have to wait long at all, even got the roll made by the Head Chef himself Jimmy! Great guy, great service, great food. Definitely going again!

Everything is amazingly flavorful. The staff is friendly & the menu describes what each roll has. Also the rolls are presented so nicely on the plates it's almost too nice to eat. If you want some GOOD local sushi, go to Blufin! Such wonderful service and experience! My husband and I were out having a pampering day and we wanted to eat good fresh, food to end the day. Boy are we happy we came here! Jospeh was so awesome, he gave us complimentary plum sake shots(which was delicious), recommended and created great dishes for us besides what we already ordered. The quality of the fish was spot on. They also serve other dishes other than sushi which we also recommend! We will be coming back and telling our friends/coworkers/family about this amazing place!

MUST TRY for vegans!!! Drove through Fresno on the way back from Yosemite and stopped here for lunch. The server was so incredibly kind, and I felt so blessed to have an entire vegan menu to select from! They really care about the customer experience as well.

Came here for lunch with my boss and had a great time! Food was super good, I got negiri and my boss got sashimi and it was all very good. I enjoyed a beer sampiere beer also or however it's spelled. The food is absolutely delicious extremely fresh they do an excellent job of plating everything and making it look fun and exciting to eat. But most importantly the customer service goes above and beyond I always enjoy interacting with the owner he is such a kind gentleman very organized polite and clean and he runs his restaurant the same way. My favorite is the salmon skin appetizer and the crab fried rice. One thing that stands out about this Restaurant Is The food tastes the same whether you eat their doordash it or pick it up and that's really hard to find that consistency. This is my comfort food and it makes it even better when the customer service is 10 out of 10.. 1000% recommend!

1st time eating here at Blufin and I can say I'm pretty happy. I love that they have a wide selection of sushi to pick from which is great! Most places I know of don't have such a varied amount. The sushi they have is just as good as any other but one thing I was a little sad about was their soups/noodles. The small quantity of additives and flavor is what put me off, wasn't major but I could tell. I still loved it regardless. Highly recommend!

It was a good place with lots of vegetarian options. Wish they had an assorted plate because it was very hard to choose from. Will definitely recommend if you're close by.

It was good. I like the misters on the patio. The Squidward roll was great - we paid $4 more to have it with fresh tuna instead of spicy. They seemed short-handed on the night we were there; we were helped by what seemed to be one of the sushi chefs - he wasn't very smiley, but he did bring my daughter a happy birthday plate for her roll.

The sushi was really fresh and Jimmy was a food host and made the food taste even better, definitely recommend for anyone who loves sushi!!

No one there at 130 pm. Sashimi was okay. Bowl of rice was pricey Often rice come with the order. Beer was ice cold off the tap in a frosted mug! Outstanding

The roll was good, even unique with the concept of tater tots accompanying it, but for me personally, I wouldn't pay $20+ again for it. The outside avo and sauce had a great taste but was overpowered by the plain taste of rice. Had there been soy sauce that came along with it, it probably would have tasted better. You can purchase soy for $2 but I overlooked that as I've never ordered sushi where you didn't get a few packets with the roll. I also checked the option for utensils seeing as I was traveling, but only chopsticks were included so I had nothing for my soup. I love that there is a large vegan menu and I would absolutely go back to try more of it- I just feel there could be a little more attention to detail for take out orders.

Rolls and salad tasted great. The appetizer.......5 pieces of shrimp for $14.95, really overpriced. Service was lacking. There were only 2 people working during dinner.

They charge 1.50 for dynamite sauce , just FYI. Also the chicken was very dry and overcooked and the rice tasted old and somewhat hard. On the good side , the tempera and the Cali rolls were good.

I have no idea how this place has 3+ stars. I will start with the positives. The service is good and the lady who waited on us was attentive and accommodating, making sure that we had what we needed (once we had to hail her as we needed more iced tea). As far as the food goes, very bad. I say this having extensive experience with Japanese food as I was born and raised in Japan. Blue Fin similar to another Japanese Restaurant I reviewed, has poor sushi chefs and old fish. The sushi was bordering on inedible. I ordered the Salmon Skin Roll and the salmon skin was not crispy but overly oily with no seasoning so it tasted like flavorless fish jerky. The soy sauce was watered down and did not have the umami expected in it. This was one of the times when I did not finish my food as I was afraid the fish was not only not fresh but over it's due date. I was here with 2 other co-workers and they didn't seem to notice how bad it was but once I recommended a local Japanese Restaurant and they had the chance to taste what a good Japanese Restaurant was, they were floored. I guess you just don't know what you don't know but know this, Blue Fin is one of the worst Japanese Restaurants ever. I don't typically review everywhere I eat and I hadn't reviewed my favorite Japanese Restaurants until I went to 2 others that compelled me to write the reviews. My recommendation would be to hire people who know how to Sushi Chef. Being a Sushi Chef is an art and takes many years of training and revered in Japan. You can't just hire anybody and expect a good outcome. Sorry I had to be so negative but wanted to get my experience out there.

I was looking forward to a nice plate of the chirashi don and it was rather small. The sashimi pieces were small, even my miso soup was small. The fish wasn’t the best and the uni was bad.

I’m so disappointed to write this review. The food here is great, which is why I’ve held off on writing this for multiple visits. The sushi and gluten free options are great. Food tastes fresh and genuinely has a good flavor. The service here is a different story. There is one person typically managing the entire place- seating people, bringing drinks, making the food, waiting the tables, and taking payments. It seems like such an inconvenience to the staff to even be here. They seem annoyed when you want to sit outside (even though there is a large patio), if you want to see the GF or drink menu and they have to walk back inside to get it, etc. Once we got 3/4 of our food, the employee didn’t come back until he brought the rest of the food (which was about 20 mins later— we didn’t even want it at that point). We never got waters or even had the chance to ask for waters. We’ve excused the poor service because the food was good, but I think that is over now.

Called in order for pick up 2 rolls miso soup and sauce $44… Get there place is dead 1 table and some people at the sushi bar Guy tells me they are so busy my food isn’t done yet .. he really just forgot about mine which I confronted him about it he said we just haven’t started yet End up waiting about an hour I get back to the hospital where my wife JUST had our newborn and see no miso soup and missing sauce Everything else was just sloppy teriyaki sauce wasn’t properly closed so a mess everywhere in the bag I call back and they were filled with excuses I asked how they were going to make up for it and their proposal was for me to just return and pick up the rest of my order??? I told him I wanted a refund he said he can’t he can’t just remake my food and add what they originally forgot. Extremely disappointed used to be my go to spot now I don’t think I’ll return purely based on how they handled this.

I would have give 0 star for the service if possible. No doubt food is good that’s the reason we were going back again and again. But they have no idea how to treat their customers. We sat on 2 seater table. Party of 5 came and sat next to us when the whole place is empty. We got the food. As me and my husband were sharing the food I moved my chair to the side close to him and the guy asked me to move it back I told him we’re sharing and he said you can change your table then. We had to pick up the food and move to the 5 seater table!!!!! It was awkward holding your plates and walking!! When he could’ve asked them to move on that table as they were still waiting to order. NEVER GOING BACK!!!!!LEARN TO RESPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!

You can tell the prices were sharpied out and written in to indicate new prices. They added extra charges for food and increased the prices by as much as 30% from original prices. Is this due to inflation? Post-covid issues? However, you'd expect the quality to go up or atleast remain the same right? Wrong. The lettuce we got for our side came out discolored and brown as if it was sitting out all day. The nigiri were warm and had nothing but a piece of fish on the rice (no sign of rice vinegar). The rice on the california roll was hard and crispy. When I walked in I noticed how empty it was and now I understand why. It was because of the downfall of quality and the upscale of price. It was also very warm inside so I'd suggest turning on the air conditioner. Overall, very sad experience and I'm sure there are room for improvement.

Do not order from this place. I place in order thru the phone and I waited 20 min before going in to pu, when I got there it was not busy, and still have to wait 15 more min for it. Honestly after tonight me and my husband will be finding a new sushi place. Sucks because we have recommended this place for the food many times, but after years of excusing the decent service, tonight was the last time. They typically only have one server waiting on the entire restaurant and even on holidays they dont get extra help. Its just frustrating, waiting long periods of time for drinks, your entire order to come. For years it has been this way, but we enjoy the food so we would still come back, but today after waiting even longer, seeing people get up and leave, and the major price jump of items, the service does not match the price point. Tonight as we were already preparing to leave when my order was coming out after my husband and daughters meal already had been served to us for over 30 minutes, I ended up taking it to go only because it was finally brought to my table after I think they noticed we were leaving or else I would have said forget it, and asked to take it off my order. Sucks because we like this place, but its time to go somewhere else. The people who work there are nice, they just need more staff to adequately service everyone who comes in and respect everyone's time.
