My fiance and I had dinner here last night and it was a wonderful experience. Our waitress, Alyssa, was welcoming and made our dining experience enjoyable. The food was great. Excellent salad bar. Our meals were excellent, the atmosphere is nice, and the service was great. We will be back soon.

In town for the night and found The Packing House for dinner because we were craving a salad bar. Who knew we would walk in and make a wonderful friend in our server Alissa, better known as Cinnamon Roll ❤️ couldn’t have asked for a better night in town.

We have come to The Packing House about five times now. Whenever we travel from Cincinnati to Omaha we make a stop in Galesburg and make a point to stop at The Packing House. We love the complimentary cinnamon rolls and the cinnamon butter dip. We have never had a bad eating experience here in the past five times we've been here. The salad bar has always been fresh. We mostly come at dinner time but we did come one other time in the afternoon. The first time we came here we were all very impressed that the chef was making his homemade desserts for the night. It's a very comfortable casual place, but the food is delicious like a semi fine dining establishment. I had the Portobello mushroom sandwich. It was delicious. Salad bar was delicious. Their tea looked a little cloudy but it tasted fresh and was good. I'm a tea fanatic. We've had their desserts before. Very good. We love it and we make a point to come here every time. This time our server was Kollisa. She was friendly and did a wonderful job. I highly recommend making a stop here.

My husband and I went here while we had a layover at the train station. The staff was incredibly accommodating of our luggage, filled up our water bottles, and gave recommendations on how we could spend the rest of our time in Galesburg. The food was delicious and I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the restraunt and it's story. 10/10 would come here again! We got the grilled cheese deluxe.

Haystack onion rings were nice and hot when arriving at our table the Caprese Garlic Bread appetizer was delicious! Our main meal was Catfish filet which was cooked to perfection, Kolissa was very attentive and pleasant which made our time there relaxing and enjoyable.

Stopped by for an early dinner to celebrate our 7th anniversary. Amazing salad bar. Pasta salad was delicious. Ranch dressing a bit runny. So many options to choose from. Would have liked more bread and cinnamon rolls. Homemade honey butter was out of this world. Special was center cut 10 Oz sirloin. Med rare was a bit overcooked. Loaded baked potato was small with lots of cheese but little bacon. Doesn't automatically come with sour cream you have to ask for it. Attentive server. Restrooms clean and well stocked with a variety of lotions and hygiene products.

Update: Tried the Sunday brunch and it was "ok". I had higher expectations coming out of our last visit. Several of the items (like eggs) were getting older (around 1230/1245 when ended at 2). The cinnamon roll things seem different in the past. They were flat, dense and a bit cold/dry. The price point was still amazing and for the price and salad bar and hot food pretty good deal (even if we weren't blown away). ‐--------- This was by far the best meal we ate in Galesburg! I'd normally give it a 4, but we were disappointed in the majority of other places in Galesburg, so feel they deserve a 5 instead. We had the baked potato/salad bar and BLT Salmon Sandwich. Adding salad bar to sandwhich was inexpensive & eorth it. Reasonably priced and the food was fresh and tasty. Service was good too! Did notice a musty/dirty type smell in certain areas, but blocked it and enjoyed the food! Will definitely be back! Would like to try their Sunday brunch.

Pretty good 1st time experience, all the way from Wyoming. Mashed potatoes and gravy, and everything on the salad bar were very good! Highly recommended the salad bar.

It's definitely a cool place. From the ramp up to the old refrigerator door as an entrance to the menu and the availability of foods. The salad and potato bar looked interesting, however didnt get a chance to try it out this visit. Our server Cinnamon Roll was good too.

Came here for our nephews graduation dinner. This restaurant location was in the middle for all of our family members to meet. Very good sandwiches. Only got pictures of three of the dishes ordered. A few drinks went dry. Salad bar was good. A little higher priced on burgers than other restaurants, not too hateful though. Thank you for a good first dining experience.

The steak was nicely cooked as ordered . It had a good flavor and was tender. The salad bar had a good variety of options, and was being maintained. Nothing really stood out as I really like this. On the flip side nothing was bad either. I did like the pickles on the salad bar. They had a nice crunch and good flavor. The environment was in between, not light enough and not dark enough to feel like it was intentional. I really didn't get the feeling that the staff were working as a team.

Update: Never ever again. The chairs are worse than sitting on a 5 gallon bucket and hurt your back. Food was still good but the chairs were horrible and service slow while you sat in those chairs. The bathroom is also jankynfor a nice place. Too bad this old favorite is going so far down hill what a shame. Good salad bar and excellent lunch specials with the burger and potato bar on Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m. service is good. Many menu items not on special are a little expensive and the food quality average. They used to bring free bread but now you get once piece and have to pay for extra. The cinnamon rolls aren't as good as they used to be and the regular bread is average grocery store bread.

Place was dirty, food wasn’t hot and was tough. Salad bar was ok. Bathroom was not as clean as it should have been. Used to be a great place. Wife said if I take her back she would not go in. Has potential to be good don’t know where the problem lies.

We came on a weekend evening. We waited over 30 mins for our food just to get this on a plate. I ordered the smoked Salmon which is what is pictured and he ordered a steak medium and got it well done. The Salmon had no flavor, very dry and just overall not good and presentation was 0/10. “They are just slammed in the kitchen” is what were told. We will not be going back here. Do not recommend.

The service overall is good but the past few times we’ve gone there the quality of the food makes the whole experience not worth it. The picture is of lettuce they plated for a chicken sandwich. This wasn’t even showing the salad bar where all the lettuce looked slimy and brown, the sides of the salad bar where obviously very old as well. I used to really enjoy this place for the salad bar but after the food quality we’ve experienced the last couple times we’ve been there, we won’t be going back.
