Found it on Google. Very clean, NOT a hole in the wall place. Food was great. Dined in on rice noodles and pork and seafood. Plenty of food took 1/2 home. Saw they had to go stuff in the refrigerator next to the cashier. Got the Bao to go and was happy I did! Reasonable cost. Bottom line will go again!
If you're looking for an authentic, thick bowl of banh canh with a fat piece of shrimp, this is the place to go! You definitely can't go wrong especially with how safe and cautious they are right now with COVID19 safety practices. Thank you so much for serving great food during hard times! Can't wait to go back and get more when I'm in the area and my banh canh craving hits 🤤 (Ate my food too quickly so I'm going to post a picture from late last year 😬)
I go here once a month to remind me of my childhood memory when I saved a portion of my school lunch money everyday to enjoy a small bowl of banh canh on the weekend... it had very little meat and udon because I was only able to pay half the price. The waitresses here dressed in Vietnamese outfits and are very nice. They have 2 pages menu... lots of udon selections for everyone.
Looking for Vietnamese udon, banh canh, come to this restaurant. The whole 2 pages of menu us all banh canh. If you don't like banh canh udon noodles, get their mien vermicelli instead. I did. Both are good.
This is my absolute favorite Vietnamese restaurant at its price. The tourist attractions in the area can mean spending most of your day waiting in line for things you don't necessarily even want to do. Crowds. Stress. But Hoa Binh is relaxing, has good service, and truly great food. Their phô is probably the very best I've ever had but don't miss the thin pancake with sprouts.
This amazing restaurant accommodated our very large group with ease and efficiency. The atmosphere is comfortable, like you can make yourself at home. There are a multiple of options on the two menus. Menus feature Vietnamese and English. The owner is gracious and kind. I would highly recommend it if you want a feel good meal by yourself or with a large group. The Jasmine tea was incredible.
Came here on vacation to try the banh canh, and it did not disappoint! Definitely one of the best banh canh I've had, it is very rich and was super flavorful, it also came out very hot which we loved! The service was good considering there was only one server. I loved this small family owned restaurant, if I lived here I would be back every week! :)
Traditional and authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Little Saigon. Spring rolls with shrimps is my favorite with their special peanut sauces, probably one of the best in town. Always go for 31 on the Menu - Pho, with beef balls. The broth is just right - light and not too oily. Prices are reasonable and overall atmosphere and service are great. Highly recommended.
I have been coming to this place for over a decade, ever since I lived in so cal. I live in Las Vegas now. This past weekend, I gave them another visit, and their food got even better! What makes their banh canh different from other places is that they give you a large river prawn. That thing is as big as my hand! I love sucking on the prawn brains. It's so juicy! I always get their banh canh dac biet, thick broth with udon, and it comes with crab meat, jumbo river prawn, fried squid paste, deboned pork leg, shrimp ball and fried fish paste. You get a little of everything, and it's so flavorful! Trust me, I finished the bowl, including all the soup! I also always add a side of quail eggs and Chinese fried donut, it's not on the menu, but trust me, it was enhance your banh canh, you'll thank me later!
Didn’t remember how many times we have been to this place. Each time I ordered a different bowl of Their specialty Udon from different regions in Vietnam. This time I went for a Nha Trang special Udon. It has shrimp, fish patties and also crab meat. This was very thick and freshly made Udon , and it was surprisingly delicious and perfectly made. I was very enjoyed the authentic of this place. This thick broth was so good adding with the chili’s in , it turned into a very enjoyable combination of flavors. I usually eat with either Chinese donut or fresh breads , it was a best my opinion, just try it you are probably like it too so bon appetite.
very good food with big portions. highly recommended
Old Review 2020: My favorite go to place for banh canh! A hidden gem in disguise like a long lost grandma! I ordered the dac biet 1a. The thick noodle soup was full of savory flavors while the noodle was chewy. The right amount of flavor and texture blended together in each bite. The shrimp was creamy and fresh for the price you’re getting. Overall: 5/5 Same great taste as before quarantine. Come here not for the aesthetics but for quality taste! +1: They take social distancing serious. A restaurant that cares for the well being of their staff and customers is something I always appreciate. ------ Updated review: After 3 years (pre pandemic, pandemic, post) this place serves the same consistent and delicious banh canh. The udon noodles are delicious! It's chewy and absorbs all the flavor of the broth. Considering that we're dealing with so much inflation and it's a mom n pop shop run by a family, it is still a great deal and very reasonably priced for the size and quality. Don't know how they do it. The amount of broth, noodles, and the size and quality of the shrimp and fish balls is great. The service is also great. The grandpa who takes your order and busses the tables is so kind too.
This isn't your typical Vietnamese place as their menu won't have any Pho or any spring rolls here. What they do have is river prawns udon in thick soup. Be sure to add the lime to bring the entire dish to Life!
This Spot is so Underaided Vietnamese Restaurant in Garden Grove California! You Must Go there!! Quality is Fantastic!!
Such a great restaurant! Super tasty food, very very very clean place and affordable price! I will definitely eat here every time I visit west minister!
We stumbled on this restaurant bc I saw on the picture of the menu 100% không bột ngọt - 100% no MSG. My husband has a severe MSG allergy and is a litmus test for restaurants using MSG. He had the chicken banh canh and to his surprise, he did not get a stomach ache and bloating 30 minutes later. My đặc biệt bánh canh was delicious too.

Our go to place in Orange County, clean place, good food, cold filtered water, and very nice staff, We always come back to this wonderful restaurant.
Super good for Vietnamese's udon soup
Great pho and great bun thit nuong
Bro they got banh canh 10/10 let's go
Quality of the food isn't consistent. I used to go here for the cubed beef every 1-2 weeks. Occasionally, it looked like what I got was from earlier that day that somebody ordered, then canceled, then I ended up getting. The rice would be a bit dry, the beef seemingly a bit stale, the lettuce somewhat dry and bitter. Not sure if that actually happens, but the quality of the item lends to that perception. Sadly, I don't come here anymore because of those few bad experiences. I understand every restaurant will occasionally send out a poorly prepared dish (that's a fact of life), but it happened too often here.
Great selection. If your group comes here and everyone wants something different there's something here for everyone. I love the choices and options. Everything is customizable. They have a great selection of appetizers instead of just rolls like most places. The only downside to restaurants is perhaps they don't really focus on specializing. But that's fine if I wanted a specialty food I'd go somewhere else. But I wanted choices so I came here and I wasn't dissapointed. Everything was average or above average. Nothing blew my mind away. But zero complaints. I'd come again for sure.
Saturday 3/16/24 Lunch at Hòa Bình Restaurant in Garden Grove with my cousin. Enjoying Vietnamese foods. All the dishes are good; authentic and savory. It’s a nice day out to enjoy good foods and good conversation. David Young Restaurant Enthusiast
I stopped going there because they charged me $1 for a few extra lemon. Their food is generally good. I don't eat Pho there because they are skimpy on the meat and there's a lot of MSG in the broth. The old man waiter is terrible but the young girls are very nice.
If you like Banh Canh, this place specialized in that and makes it from different regions of Vietnam. So good and I know my Banh Canh from eating so much of it every chance I get. I don't give 5 Stars because there's ALWAYS room for improvements, right? Word of mouth, give this place a chance...
Great selection of Vietnamese food for the money. The food taste great, I can't complain about anything on the menu, however they need to provide some good customer service. They serve your food and leave and not come back. You have to really get somebody's attention that you need something.
Fried egg roll was really good, pho tai soup was a little light side for my taste but still really yummy. I was looking for Bahn xeo, but it was not bad but just ok. Che ban do(red been) was really good!
This is comfort Vietnamese food. If you are a foodie looking for new flavors then move on. If you are Vietnamese or a vietnaphile then u r in luck. Pho is average but low msg and gets the job done. The dry pho ap chau and my Dao dong is what we get. My family goes here about every other month for the past 8 years. I'm told the noodles are fresh but to me nothing to call home about. Simply our go to comfort place. Just as a general rule...it's OK to seat yourself. It's OK to walk up and ask for more napkins and plates. It ok to go up and just pay your bill. Not rude by viet standards. Just what it is. Oh. They charge 25 cents for tap water. Annoying but not a deal breaker.
The staff, the food and the cleanliness all get high marks for me here. Always try to stop by here for breakfast when I'm in SoCal. Utensils were clean and was given in a plastic bag with napkins -so cleanliness here is refreshing especially during these times.
Quiet hidden place for but has a lot of potential. The food is good and they also do catering. The banh canh is the thick kind of you like that style. The bun cha was pretty legit with the charcoal flavor.
My dad always take me here for Bánh Canh. It is very good and delicious. The shrimp cake, thicken soup, and noodles mixed well together. Price is reasonable and the parking in front of their restaurant makes it easy to park here and eat. The service is okay - the waiter did come to our table and rudely take away our chili without asking if we still needed it. Anyway, I do like the restaurant enough to come back for its bánh canh cua. The corner view of the restaurant does give it a nice atmosphere.
We came again to HoaBinh Restaurant to try Chicken Pho and my family members and friends said that’s good, better than other Northern Authentic or Pho Place in the area. So this time I took their words to order Chicken Pho, yes it was not excellent as I expected but it’s way better than other places on the same street We came and ordered 5 different plates and everyone approved it We came again just 3 people and were happy We came back and 4 of us liked it, specially 2 Chicken Pho for 2 of us Then last weekend we had 3 Chicken Pho for 3 and Mi Quang, Pho xao ap chao and Mi xao. Very happy with their foods and service
Good family stop with lots of choices. 4.25 Stars with room to grow. I got invited to come and enjoy the Garden Grove experience. The area is full of Vietnamese hot spots, you won’t be able to chose should you come alone. Hoa Binh is a family run gem with a long history of mailing families smile. We had pho, beef filet, house fire rice, shrimp wonton and veggie crepe. A nice mix of options and ones we would order again. 4 Stars. Service is great and the ambiance is clean, bright and covered in an eclectic mix of Asian Art. 5 Stars. Come here, bring the family, I’ll be back.
Really enjoyed the Pho. The bowls were generous and the menu was extensive. Great way to start the day.

The food was good but the service was something else 😒

Good fuh. But they charge you for water so don't order that. If you're not Asian you wait longer. It's either racism or not being cool with other races. I counted 5 different viet folks come in after and the moment they sat down the food was served. But for someone that's not Asian wait 10-15 mins then when they feel like bringing your soup then they do. Happens every darn time for about 6 years now. Food is good but the service sucks balls.
Their pork spring rolls are some of the best in the area. Their pho can be good. However they are inconsistent. When you get the pho on a good day, it's awesome. But on many days it seems to taste watered down. Nice atmosphere and good pricing. I wish the would just be consistent
A nice restaurant near the heart of Little Saigon. Service was prompt and friendly. They have a very large menu, so if you're looking for a variety of choices, this is a good place to go. I ordered the Mì Quảng. Unfortunately I can only say I found it "okay". The large bowl comes with A LOT of noodles. I will probably try other dishes the next time I come here.
Not bad....more like meh😒 , once was enough. The aloe drink was straight up from the market. It was artificial tasting, & total garbage . The menu was dirty, had to open & flip through the menu w/a napkin. Restaurant was light , not like your other pho spots. Thanks, but no thanks

They're not very good here anymore. The pork feet/knuckles are overcooked (way too soft). The soup is pretty bland, and their rice dishes are too. Service is just as bland. Time to find a new place for banh canh.
It's just not the same as when it was Hoa Binh. The food was much better, that was one of our go-to Vietnamese spots. It's ok there's plenty more in my area but this ain't gonna be one of them.
Before the new owners took over this was my absolute favorite place for cha goi/egg rolls. It was made with authentic Vietnamese rice paper wrappers, it was light, crispy and was melt in your mouth good. Unfortunately, the new owners changed the recipe and the egg rolls are now barely edible, flavor is not as good and the rice paper sticks to your teeth and feels like you’re chewing sticky rubber. Im writing this not to be mean or harsh but in hoping the owners would bring back to old recipe.

I can say the food is good, but other shops pretty much make the same food in the area. The reason I'm giving it a bad star is that they run this business like it's their house. Their family DRAMA, DROOPY faced or mad. The "lady" was rude and my friends went there some other time and the lady was rude to them so no thank you.. as in not at all..Ever.
Bad service . the owner did not treat employees well
Food was subpar. Owner refuses to allow us to split the check. They put our table on hold mid order to take new customers coming in. They were rude and talked about us while we were on our way out:
