Pickle Banh Mi Co is a popular spot in Garden Grove known for its delicious and fresh banh mi, especially the crispy pork belly. Customers praise the flavorful fillings and crispy bread. Some mention long wait times and occasional inconsistencies in food quality.
Tip: Try the crispy pork belly banh mi. Be prepared for a potentially long wait, especially during peak hours.
The most amazing Bahn mi I've ever had. I love THH and Bahn mi 168 but this one takes the cake. The bread itself is so flavourful and the meat and veggies with the chile for spice. It's like a symphony of flavors exploding in your mouth, truly delicious 😋 P.S. I add egg to my Bahn mi and they make it sunny side up. Definitely try it out, it will enhance the flavors all the more
I recently visited Pickle Bánh Mì on Brookhurst and Lampson and had an amazing experience. The service provided by Thiên Ân was fantastic - he was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. I ordered the #12 Pork belly Bánh Mì and it was absolutely delicious. The pork belly was cooked to perfection and the flavors were amazing. I also tried the peach tea, which was superb and a perfect complement to the meal. I have tried Bánh Mì sandwiches with carrot and daikon before, but I have to say that the #12 Pork belly at Pickle Bánh Mì is much better. I highly recommend trying it out. Overall, I had a great experience at Pickle Bánh Mì and I will definitely be returning. Thank you Thiên Ân for the fantastic service. Have a good day, y'all!
Best sandwich in Orange County. And I have tried most of them. Really happy to have discovered Pickle Banh Mi. Even better, their prices are reasonable, so I don't have to budget and think, "Can I afford to eat out today?" Cheers to you guys for a wonderful restaurant.
Updated 9/21: My favorite is the Spam Bahn Mi. I have tried other foods but I just can't get enough of this specific sandwich. Never been inside but from the outside it's nice. Staff are always nice and food is fresh and served quick enough through the drive-through. Love this dang food. I always get the spam and egg and my goodness it is delicious!! Also delicious fruit drinks that are very tasty and offer lots of variety.
Great place to grab a quick bite. They have a good variety of to-go vietnamese foods like banh mi and spring rolls, as well as sit-down foods like soups and noodles. The atmosphere is relaxing and the food is delicious ! I think this is my new favorite breakfast spot.
I love Pickles, my favorite Vietnamese fast food. Best banh mi in town. They have a variety of other dishes if you want more than just a sandwich.
I'm night shift so I love that they open at 6 in the morning!! There are so many things on their menu and what stood out to me the most is the crispy pork belly banh mi. It's a generous amount of meat, flavorful and paired with yummy pickled veggies. They also have stand-alone baguettes, which cost less than a dollar!
If you're in the mood for something unique and absolutely delicious, Pickle Banh Mi is a must-try! This place truly elevates the classic banh mi with its inventive twist on the traditional flavors. From the moment I took my first bite, I was hooked! The combination of perfectly seasoned meats, crunchy pickled vegetables, and fresh herbs on a soft, yet perfectly crispy baguette is absolutely mouthwatering. What sets Pickle Banh Mi apart is their attention to detail and quality. Every ingredient is fresh, and the flavors are perfectly balanced--each bite is an explosion of savory, tangy, and spicy goodness. The variety of fillings they offer is impressive, and you can customize your sandwich just the way you like it. The staff was friendly and made me feel right at home. The service was quick, and the whole vibe of the place is casual and inviting. I also love that they offer options for all kinds of dietary preferences, making it easy to find something that fits everyone's taste. I'm definitely coming back for more and highly recommend Pickle Banh Mi to anyone who's looking for an exciting and delicious twist on a Vietnamese classic!
I stopped by Pickle Banh Mi Co on Brookhurst and tried their Bánh Mì Đặc Biệt and the Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng, both were fantastic! The bread was perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and the fillings were flavorful and generous. The combo banh mi had that classic balance of savory cold cuts, pate, and pickled veggies, while the grilled pork was juicy, well-seasoned, and so satisfying. I actually came back the very next day and grabbed their bánh cuốn ready boxes ($9) and those were equally great! Fresh, tasty, and honestly a really good value for the quality and portion size. The shop is clean, service is quick and friendly, and everything tastes freshly made with care. Definitely one of the better spots for Vietnamese food in Garden Grove. Highly recommend!
I ordered a coconut water and it turned out abit sour, when I brought it up to the workers not only they promised to refund me and gave me a free coke. Later while I was enjoying the sandwich he brought out a new drink and it tasted really good👍🏻. Appreciate the service and the number one sandwich is a must try.
I am glad to find a good banh mi place in OC. I enjoyed their dac biet (special) banh mi and lemongrass beef banh mi. Both have a lot of flavors and banh mi are fresh and crispy.
The only place I go for crispy pork belly banh mi; their banh mi is crunchy but not hard. The meat is a mix of lean and fatty meat; in most of the places that I've visited, fat was used more than lean meat. The other banh mi are also delicious; if you visit Orange County, don't miss this spot.
Had both their grilled pork and crispy pork sandwiches. The bread was fresh. The sliced cucumber and jalapeno were nice and crunchy. The meats were tasty. Edited: So the first time I showed up the pickles were carrots and cabbage and not that great. The second time around though they had the daikon radish and carrots and the sandwich tasted much better. Updated my review due to that.
The pork belly banh mi here is insane! They use braised pork belly and a sriracha mayo. I also recommend the sesame balls. I didn't stop a picture of my food because I did a grab and go. Definitely recommend this place for something on the fly.
Today was my first time trying pickle banh mi after seeing people argue over what banh mi spot is better online. I have tried most in the surrounding area and this place definitely did not disappoint. The pork/shrimp spring rolls were fantastic with the dipping sauce and the krispy pork belly banh mi was fantastic really soft meat with a nice crunch on the pork skin here and there. The staff was was very friendly and I will definitely be back.

I love banh mi here but staff is utterly difficult to deal with. I generally likes to get extra mayo to eat with rice or likes it in the side ànd just asking for that ( pay extra ) is difficult.
Not the cheapest but definitely one of the top banh mi shops in town. We ordered online and estimated wait was 30 minutes but within 5 minutes we got notified it was ready lol. The bread, meat, and all the fillings were fresh and tasty and at $8 for the premium ones, it's worth it. It's not the cheapest but come here when you want a better banh mi than 3 for $8 LOL. They have a drive thru as well just like some of the other shops which can be convenient. But keep in mind the line does stretch pretty far sometimes. Food: 8/10 Atmosphere: 4/10 Service: 4/10 Value: 8/10
I gave 4 star because they need to get grid of the Sriracha chili sauce it made in China, every time they gave it to me I throw them away.
The sandwiches were really good and the coffee with ube was strong and taste great.
Place has 4 tables. 6 counter seats. Saturday 2 pm. Was out of most of their coffee, banana pandan Ube all gone. Counter seating was available, tables were all taken. Spring rolls, and other Vietnamese dishes are available. From rice plates, soups, ranging from 7-12 . Coffee is$6 and other drinks are 5.50. Coffee was strong, bitterness hidden by a lot of sugar. Foam was surprisingly sweet and fluffy Bahn mi was okay. Bread was solid. Meat, was whatever. BUT that's probably because I sipped on the coffee while waiting for the sandwich. I'll have to come back and try it again. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat or drink here, but stop by over Starbucks if I was in the area Solid choice Ordered grilled pork bahn mi and creme brulee coffee.
Visiting Disneyland and was craving Banh Mi. Found this place using Google Maps. Service was ok, young man working the front who took the order seemed tired, and probably was as he left after I placed my order. Th rest of the staff I interacted with weren’t friendly but weren’t unfriendly, just somewhere in gray zone. The Roasted Pork Banh Mi was the best I had in a very long time and worth another trip back. The pork was tender, very flavorful and not too fatty. The bread was crispy on the outside, but not so crispy as to make a mess on the table, the bread was chewy on the inside, just perfect. I ordered vegetarian spring rolls as well, the last of the day ad I was told, they are pre made, and definitely had been made much earlier as the rice paper wrapper were dried out and crunchy in places. Still with dipping sauce they were good.
This is a Pickle Banh Mi outlet located in Garden Grove. I just tried the grilled pork and egg rolls. Taste is good and the meat although too salty but had a smoky flavor. They offer a drive through for those folks enjoy sitting in their car ordering food. Interior design was okay and interior was clean enough.
This used to be Burger King and turned into Pickle bánh mi that’s why it has a drive thru. I came twice in one week. The first time was a walk in and the second time was drive thru. Both instances last the same amount of time, about 15 mins wait. The menu is extensive. There’s bánh mì, rice plates, soup, curry, chow mein, porridge, steam rice rolls, spring rolls, small bites and drinks. Everything is under $10.50. We always get the same thing: - bánh mì đặc biệt ($6.25) - combo of all the meats like ham, head cheese, bologna. I added extra pate and the house special sauce just added so much flavor. - Bánh mì bò kho ($9.50) - baguette dipped in beef stew. Extremely flavorful and the meat is so tender. - Pork spare rib porridge ($7.99) - so good! The rice is so fine and it’s like they use a sweet rice or something that makes the consistency really sticky and glutinous. I can eat this any day, doesn’t have to be when I’m sick. Generous with pork bones too.
Solid four stars banh mi place. I had the chicken curry, and it tasted full of flavor. It's not the best but doable for a morning breakfast and if you're in the mode for ga cari. They do have tables you can sit and enjoy your meal. It's a bit out of central little saigon but worth a try.
Good banh my and bun cha. Fried rice with roasted chicken is nice too. Wait time is a bit long. Shop opens early (6AM)
If you are in the mood for an authentic Ban Mi ,Try this place. Drive through a plus. Menu board also in English. We got a steak, chicken patty and grilled chicken. Delicious!
Delicious!!! Fresh bread was cooked in the back it smelled so wonderful. My lemongrass beef was fresh and had a ton of meats. I added Pate for another 75 cents which it didn’t need. I would come back again.

The sandwich is good, lot of meat. The only thing I’m concerned the food safety. I ordered a special sandwich after work. There was the only young girl there at that time. She did the cashier, and made my sandwich right after she touched the money . The counter is low i can’t see if she picked the meat with bare hands too? But when she reached her hands up to pick up paper wrap on the shelve, I saw she didn’t wear gloves :( she touched the money and making sandwich without wearing gloves:( I hope the owner of Mr Pickle see this and re-train their employees and make sure they wear gloves after receiving the money or at least wash your hands before making the sandwich.
Employees need to pay more attention about changing gloves between customer or after touching some kind of subject and go back to wrapping your sandwich. Especially after they done handling the money. The cartons containers using to hold the breads need to be replaced, the boxes look so worn out and so dirty it makes me think do I wanna eat that sandwich ? 🤔
I am disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered a sandwich, egg roll, and Thai tea. The sandwich alone was not great. I only ate half of it and threw the other part in the trash. It tasted stale and old. The meat and veggie didn't taste good. I read some of the reviews and was confused because my bread was not as crispy & soft in the middle. I went around early dinner time. I also use the drive through and waited longer that expected. The driver before me did not move for ten minutes.

It’s been exactly a week since I last stopped by here for a sandwich and have been thinking hard before writing this review. A week ago, I had a #1 special from here and while consuming it, the meat was looking questionable and chewy where I couldn’t not chew it through. I ignored the look of it and continue eating since it’s late lunch and I was hungry. My stomach felt weird a short moment later and realized I have food poisoning from the sandwich. I don’t want to hurt the brand as I am truly a fan. I hope this review will have some impact and make changes to the way food is being stored/handled in the future. I will be back in the future and hope things will change for the better.
PLEASE GO TO CARROT AND DAIKON INSTEAD!!! I usually get banh mi at Carrot daikon as it’s so good and flavorful. But one day I saw an influencer recommended that this is better than my carrot daikon place so I’m really curious. And I’m so disappointed now. As a Vietnamese, the bread is ok, but it’s dry, and bland, the pickles don’t have any flavor, overall feels really dry and bland. I only go to OC once a month just to eat Vietnamese food and this place is so overrated. And this banh mi is even smaller too, normally I just need to eat half and get full but I had to eat the whole thing in order to be full although I paid the same price.
Worst banh mi I’ve ever had. I’ve had some crappy ones but this one took the cake. I had the #1. Bread was so over baked. It was as if they reheated yesterday’s batch of bread in the oven and gave THE MOST crumbly mouth cutting thing I’ve ever eaten. Cucumbers were turning bitter which means they were not fresh at all. Cilantro was turning bitter as well. Another indicator or freshness or lack thereof. Pate had no flavor and was mushy nothingness. The meat was indistinguishable. The pickles had no flavor. Lastly, I had the THICKEST JALAPENO OF MY LIFE. Terrible all around. Here’s a tip…taste your ingredient and ensure DECENT quality. People are struggling and using our hard earned money on crappy food is the best way to drive away customers.
I feel so disappointed of people that works at these restaurants as they are very rude towards people who don't speak any vietnamese. Very RUDE ATTITUDE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. I went to try thir bowl of Beef stew , Mince shrimp plate and taro baos ( buns) everything was a 7 out of 10, except the beef stew, the meat was cold and the soup extremely hot, maybe they overheat the soup and put the frozen meat in there to cool down the soup, but that's not good. Not what I expected. The place is clean which is good, now...... the negative of negatives... I am so upset as I was been helped by a vietnamese lady and then she got away to do something else then she asked a guy (how to say overweight) to help me with my order. they gave me the order in closed bags and the receipt, when i left I was concerned that I paid too much for the food, so when I parked I checked my receipt I found out that was overcharged by the guy, so I called and he was very rude and hang-up the phone on me, I called again and requested for manager and I heard the guy talking to the lady and she also hung up on me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE. their food is not worthy of all of these.
Sad experience... beef is not even solid pieces but just ground beef?! And lettuce? In a banh mi? No. This is not authentic. Pickled veggies were minimal. Won't be back.
Bun Bo + Bun Rieu are okay but when it comes to Canh Bun, they use cải (green veggie that’s not the right kind for this type of food) due to the pricing of it being expensive. If that’s the case, they should not offer Canh Bun on their menu if they dont have the right ingredients. Food here is pricey as well compared to other places. This bowl is $7.99 and it’s not done right. I suggest go to other specialty place if you want speciality food. It would be cook correctly and better and priced around $8-9. Here, the bowl is smaller size for the same price and in this case not even cook right with the wrong green veggie (no rau muong). Sandwiches are okay and roasted pork is a newly introduced concept since no other place has offer but the taste is nothing new or unique. Taste okay and I wouldn’t order it again. So far, only Bun Rieu + Bun Bo Hue are decent. Coffee is ok as well.
