We went for lunch and had their onion rings, BLT, chicken fried chicken, and chicken fried steak. I must say they do give you plenty of food and side items. They also served a basket of rolls and cornbread with it all. The prices are very budget friendly. I was a little hesitant about ordering the chicken fried steak based on some reviews I read but it was pretty good to me. Staff was also friendly and gave us good service. We'll for sure come back to try other menu items in the near future. It is a little dated but don't let that fool you. Overall it was really good.

We tried this place for dinner one night and we were greeted and seated at a table immediately. Our server got our drink orders and then return to get our food order. I ordered the Fried Chicken Dinner Special and my partner ordered the Texas Platter. Both were delicious and come with two sides of your choice. Everything is made house homemade style. The Fried Onion Rings were incredible and Mashed Potatoes and Gravy were like Mom use to fix. The Tater Tots were very good cooked to perfection and the Peach Cobbler was outstanding. The Fried Chicken Special is three pieces White or Dark meat or a mix. The Texas Platter is a Hamburger Steak served open face with Chili and Cheese which was very good. The restaurant was clean as were the restroom. This is a very old place, if you do not like the rustic feel this is not the place for you. The food is cooked perfect and service is like going to someone's house. Love this food and service and will be coming back again and again.

I’ve been living around here forever, and this is my first time here, and didn’t disappoint. Everything tasted so good, and the deserts are heavenly, I will come again because they cooked the food well, and compared to other restaurants it was pretty cheap, and I think you should try. Service is excellent as well. This place is great, five star it only takes very little time for them to cook your order, they have amazing desserts, pecan pie, apple pie, cheesecake, you name it I think you should really try it. Update: after 5 years of my first review, it still rocks, food is amazing and service awesome, we loved our waitress.

First of all let me say that this review is not only for the GOLDMINE RESTRUANT but also to all the haterz out there reviewing this placee worst way possible..... First of all, let me tell ya this place lives to its best expectations! The staff is great more than great. This place is better than waffle House and IHOP put together. Definitely makes you feel like home like when your family wakes you up with a hot coffee and a warm breakfast meal before you need to start your day specially, for those that work day and night or also driving, this place is the best place you can to stop by for a coffee break or a good meal. Also want to share that the customers in this place really know how to communicate with you and that's what all about people to communicate better to love each other and greet each other and just know that we are all family in this please really gives you that vibe when you come the music the staff the food. Oh my God the food is so great I had the egg Benedict. I don't know if I pronounce that right but the egg was amazing. The bread was really good and tasteful every bite was really great the way you break the yolk it's so nice the hashbrowns, crunchy taste full the bacon. Oh my God the bacon was ycrunchy hot not greasy. It was very very greasy. The prices are great really good for what they give you. This is my first time coming here since I was born, and like I said, I was born in 1994 its the first time I ever decide to walk in here. Let me tell you this please I will definitely be bringing my four-year-old. This is a place where I want to experience with my first child just like I wanted my parents to bring me here along time ago but it's all right at one point we all end up walking in for the first time at a place where we've seen since growing up, I'm sure I'm not the only one. Also shout out to the waitress stephanie. She's amazing does a great job. Perfect makes you feel great. Definitely recommend anybody to come. This place really gives you 70s 80s 90s vibe like a old school diner. Literally everything that has not survived from Garland. This place is the only thing as of right now that I know that is holding up very very strong and that looks great on my side. Definitely going to be coming here more often. Specially, for breakfast and a coffee and also be bringing my project cars because it's low car friendly for anybody that has a low car and the parking is amazing to you. Yah Should really consider bringing yalls car clubs out here. It's very very amazing. Very good vibez!!!!! So for everybody here reviewing this plays really bad or whatever you need to go back and re-born again because you're too judge mental you need to just wake up and be happy come get yourself a coffee and grab a breakfast I'm sure it would help you a lot. Just found this neighborhood spot about a week ago and I’ve already been here four times. Lunch specials are $7.50 which is less than fast food but SOOOO much better! I’ve had the pot roast, pork chop and taco salad before today. Loved it all except for taco salad. TS wasn’t bad but not as good as others. Service is top notch and seems to have a group of regulars at lunch which tells me they are consistently good.

It took way too long for our food to come out, we were getting hangry. But, once it came out, it was hot and fresh and delicious! (Except the canned green beans.) Service was friendly. Portions were big and prices were decent.

Definitely skews to an older crowd. I'm in my 50s and I was one of the youngest people there. But as a result it's a quiet, polite, friendly location. The food is as the sign says, home cooked Texas food, and it's inexpensive and the portions huge. I had the CFS with mash and pinto beans and Texas Toast. I couldn't eat but half of it. It was only $12.70 so I just rounded up to $20 when I paid, let my kind waitress have the money I'd have spent elsewhere. If you want comfort food at insanely low cost, try it.

We have been here like seven times within the past couple months and the breakfast is always good but service takes forever due to the cook, the waitress being too old to keep up or they are too chatty. Burgers are good if they have the right cook there that day but we had to let them know once that our burger was burnt and thin-in return we got free desert. The inside needs a major remodel. Everything is old dusty outdated and sticky. Seats worn out uncomfortable.

*Google says this is 2 weeks ago... It was over a year ago! We both had the chicken fried steak, they were so undercooked, they bled out onto the plate. I ate half of mine before it turned pink but my wife's was even less cooked. Never again.
