The food was delicious. I had the lasagna with a barbera. Service was friendly and fast. The area is dark at night but don't let that stop you from trying the food there. Desserts were delicious. The bread pudding a la mode was the perfect size.
What a wonderfully charming restaurant! Great Italian food at decent prices. And I'm not sure what the previous reviewer meant by bright lighting. If it were any dimmer, we'd be eating in the dark. I think the atmosphere is just right and not at all 'fast food' like. I definitely recommend!
Unbelievable service from Katie, wonderful dishes, good value 🙏. God bless, you all are beautiful, we will be coming back. Lunch menu was nice too, more than enough portions. Wife had Frutti De Mare, and I had the Spaghetti Olio Aglio, and we had Tiramisu to round out our impromptu lunch date.
The best Italian food I have had in a very long time. So amazing. We will be back!!
Authentic Italian cuisine. My mom loves the clams. I love the gnocchi in pesto sauce. Their two small, intimate dining areas can get crowded fast, I recommend making a reservation, especially during the weekend. Super friendly staff, super good food. And you can order ahead to take the food home with you. What more could you want?
My husband and I dined at Vaiano Trattoria and we were absolutely THRILLED with the experience! The food, even the bread dip with garlic, was amazingly delicious and the service was great. (I got the penne with salmon and he got the sausage pizza.)
This is a great place to bring friends and family. Great food!!! We had a large party 20. They were able to deliver the food hot and tasty and very fast. I'm sure you will enjoy!
AMAZING AUTHENTIC ITALIAN CUISINE START TO FINISH, GO HERE!!! THE BREAD WAS WARM, SOFT, AND AMAZING, and the PAIRING with olive oil balsamic and best of all SUPER FRESHLY MINCED GARLIC was delicious and super thoughtful, quality and care from the start. Our table got the the ravioli with pesto sauce instead of bolognese, and the chicken cacciatore - and oh my god, they were both absolutely stunningly good - extremely fresh, hot, seasoned perfectly and cooked to the right level for each unique ingredient. Affogato to top it all off was delicious! Thank you Jade for taking care of us, and cheers for an absolutely delicious and treat of a meal!!
Best Italian Restaurant on the west coast!! I used to live in New York and this is the closest Italian restaurant that reminds me of the restaurants back on the east coast. Everything is so fresh from the Bread to the oil and from the salads to the pastas are the best!! A lot of the Italian Restaurants in the area just don't know how to make authentic Italian dishes Vaiano Trattoria does.
Never too busy when we go and it is a pleasant restaurant to eat at!
Really great to have a locally owned Hometown Italian restaurant with fantastic lasagna. Every time I eat Italian I always order the lasagna and this was some of the best. I’ve had I highly recommend this place though. Also, the wedge salad was super great had a homemade dressing can’t go wrong. Got to get here. Enjoy the The Company the local restaurant local hometown feel you won’t regret it.
Great food and great service. However, it does feel like you are eating in grandma's kitchen. The tables are a bit small for my liking.
This was our first visit and won't be our last. My husband raved about the speciality salmon dish he ordered and ate most of my veal leftovers! My favorite was the pasta with mushrooms, but the veal was also very good. This place is small so I recommend reservations to ensure a seat.
Food and service were fantastic! Good people and well-prepared dishes. The pizza and lasagne are so good. We will definitely go back.
My wife and I have dined at Vaiano numerous times since this restaurant opened near our home. We love the comfortable atmosphere and hospitality. The decor is welcoming but not overdone as some theme restaurants. Now, the best part. The menu affords guests a variety of selections but not excessive causing one to wonder if they can pull off the too numerous options in the kitchen. The food is authentic, delicious, appropriate portions, with a clear sense that all is fresh - very fresh indeed. Oh, they provide a nice selection of Italian wines. You can enjoy a delightful dining experience for two for under $50.00. We are heading there now.
Food is killer!!! I sat out on their front porch and they had some music playing. The waitress was so sweet and personable. She was attentive without hovering. Food came out quick and super reasonably priced! The bread and garlic olive oil and vinegar dip is so good I could eat it as my meal. Highly recommend!!!
Great versions of classic Tuscan cuisine. We have had a variety of dishes here over the year but the top recommendations are the gnocchi and the tortellini with prosciutto. Dessert wise it's hard to go wrong with the bread pudding
Lovely little hole in the wall. Literally my only criticism was trying to find it in the dark. I had the penne al samone which was so delicious with generous portions. The waitress was helpful and attentive. I don't give 5 stars often but this place deserves it.
My boyfriend said the steak is better than Cattleman's.
We love this little down home, tucked away Italian restaurant. Absolutely delicious food, it's small, and quaint, but a nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. Thank you
A very nice local place. Small, but comfortable, even traditional. Service staff was very good and super polite. This is our favorite get away for a quiet lunch or dinner together.
Vaiano Trattoria has the best Italian food in the area! It’s like enjoying a home-cooked meal every time I visit. The prices are fantastic, and the quality is unbeatable. The owner is so sweet, and the staff are always welcoming and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious—it makes me want to hop on a plane and visit Italy again! Love this place!

The food was not only delicious, but the portions were hearty! The service was great, too. It's in an older small strip mall but don't let that stop you dmfrom going in. Highly recommend.
After years of not dining there, we went back and were so surprised to find the same great menu items, and also same friendly staff. We will be back much more often. Thanks for providing a much enjoyable dining experience.
We popped in here Monday night for an early birthday dinner. It was our first time there and it did not disappoint! We had the spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, and Caesar salad. The food was fantastic, the service was very attentive and welcoming, and the place itself was clean and nice (albeit quiet because we were there rather early). We'll definitely be back!
We had a nice time here. The food is good and staff is friendly. Its a small intimate place. Id go here again.
Hidden gem, a must try. One of our local Italian friends referred this restaurant when we moved to Sacramento suburbs and this has been one of our all time favorites ever since. Unassuming looking outside transforms into a very intimate dining experience once you step in. Everything thing we tried in terms of food has been simply delicious, but my favorite is their Aglio e Olio with their selection of Italian wines. Service is always amazing and we just love this place.
Wonderful menu... Food was delicious.. good wait staff ... Energetic atmosphere.
We had a party of 6. We arrived on Friday around 6 pm. We got a table right away without a reservation. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. We only had water but next time I'll definitely try a drink with dinner.
Great atmosphere, friendly service, and consistently delicious food. If you’re in Granite Bay and craving amazing Italian, this spot is a must. Highly recommend!
My husband and I went here for our anniversary because another place we had made reservations couldn’t accommodate us. My husband had pizza and I had the lasagna both of which were delicious. We tried the tiramisu which is made to order. It was absolutely amazing. Great food and service all the way around! Highly recommend!

Great service and great food, lovely waitress and prompt service. However, had a young blond female busser/runner (?) repeatedly give me and my guest intimidating eye contact during the duration of our visit. We were courteous, respectful, left right we finished, and paid our tab. Do not appreciate the discriminatory environment. Possible racism ?? Don't like that shade though.
First time here. The food is very good. The seating is quite close, so be prepared to get to know your neighbors. I plan to go back to try a couple of other dishes to see if they are better. The service was very good.
Nice small neighborhood genuine Italian restaurant with handmade dishes. Small place and gets pretty busy. Definitely worth checking out if your local. I had the mussels and lobster ravioli, I'd have preferred a creamy sauce on the ravioli but they were still very good. Wouldn't hesitate to come back.
I don’t know why this place has such good reviews. The food was horrible. Appetizers tasted like they came out of a can, the meat tasted old, and the pasta was rubbery. They don’t make their own pasta and the sauce was just not tasty. Overall wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for Italian food. I’m only giving them 2 stars because the server was nice and took one of the appetizers off our ticket when we complained.
Fritti di Mare .I thought the sauce was very watery no solid anything in it whatsoever . couldn’t find any tomato anything on it just watery tomato sauce . I was very very disappointed .I would never order it again nor will I ever go there again. the bread was hard as a rock I almost broke my tooth on it trying to bite into it. My husband drove really far to get it for my birthday .We saw it online . He also ordered a child portion of spaghetti and they added a meatball which was very nice of them but there was hardly any spaghetti sauce on the spaghetti I thought it was too dry I like sauce and there was hardly any on it. Sorry to say I can only give it a two. I wish I had taken a picture but I didn’t think of it because I didn’t think I was going to give a review. I decided to look it up today to see if there were reviews and apparently other people like it better than I do. The restaurant had lots of people in it when my husband went there so it must be popular. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish
Food was over salted. Caprese tomatoes weren’t ripe. Not terrible. No complaints about the service. So two stars for food with potential. But hand sanitizer pumps on every table? So unappetizing and strange. The ultra-woke bathroom gendering was another knock against them. I am loath to give bad reviews because owning a restaurant is tough work. But, owners, please put your energy into perfecting that decent menu instead of breaking culture. I’d love to come back if I don’t have to think about groomers and isopropyl alcohol on my gnocchi.
Went here on a Monday evening to celebrate a birthday. I had high hopes of this place after reading so many stellar reviews. Our Antipasta plate was mediocre at best with packaged meats placed on the plate. The small triangles of cheese tasted more like domestic Romana and not Parmigiano as stated. Caprese had Roma tomatoes, which I suppose are the most colorful they could obtain in December. Caesar had good taste of anchovies, but was very dry and needed more olive oil. My veal piccata arrived smothered in lemon gravy. Piccata is a lightly floured veal, sauteed in a pan and finished with butter, lemon, wine and capers. It appeared that the cooked had made a corn starch slurry and added to make what resembled country gravy. It looked nothing like the image on the website. I had 3 bites and left the rest. Surprisingly, the waitress never even questioned if I liked it. Perhaps the cook was off on this Monday night and they let the dishwasher prepare the meals. Our meatballs tasted as if they were a processed frozen product. Linguine clams was essentially a soup with noodles and small clams. At least 25 % of the clams were shell only, telling me they overcooked it. Service was good, but not once did the waitress come by and pour any of the 2 bottles of wine we purchased. It was as if we brought our own and paid the corkage. I really wanted to like this place because I love Italian food. I cannot recommend, nor will I ever return.
Nothing I had WOW'd me. We came here on a friends recommendation for my daughters birthday. The service was ok. I had the papperdel with wild boar. It was very bland. My husband had lasagna, and he said it was blah and didn't have enough meat. My daughter had gnocchi her dish was the best. She liked it but not enough to come back. The salads were fresh, but the dressing was pure oil! Not a hint of balsamic or any other vinegar or herbs of any kind. I ordered the chocolate lava cake, and my cake was crispy on the outside and dry on the inside. No lava whatsoever! Our bill was over 200.00. I just don't think it's worth the money.

Questionable high ratings! I would NOT recommend this place. Ordered pasta. It had a hair in it so had to send it back. They brought out another dish…. With ANOTHER HAIR IN IT! WTH!? So we left. Again, I would NOT recommend this place.
The food is a tragic disgrace. This restaurant does not make Italian food. This restaurant looked at a picture of Italian food and thought, "That looks easy." The caprese was garbage- beefsteak tomato and cow mozzarella. I was willing to forgive it, but an hour later they brought the rest of the food. The zuppa de pesce and frutta di mare were the same dish, except the frutta di mare had noodles. The tomatoes were canned. The seafood tasted microwaved. And then there was the pizza. Who screws up pizza? I asked if their pizza normally looked like that and the waitress looked mortified. She said they didn't have enough dough to make a new one. It was so bad we didn't even get charged for it. They should have charged us for it and bought themselves a cook book.

Disappointing! Poor service! Caprese presented with colorless, flavorless cheap tomato varietal! Cold bread! Won't return or recommend!
The lasagna was just ok. The served us tiramisu that had gone very sour rotten. Literally tasted like throw up. Ruined the hole dining experience. First time and last time eating here. All they did was take the tiramisu. I expected the dinner to be comped for serving me rotten spoiled cream.
