What a brilliant place. Chose it as a base for our Wedding Anniversary for a 4 day break and to travel around the area. The food was so good, that we decided to eat there each night instead of going further afield. Superb room and great hospitality. We are going back again next Summer.

Fantastic traditional style Inn. Me and my 9 year old daughter stayed here. Rooms are clean and ours had a digital pedestal fan which was great and a nice added touch. Staff are lovely. They are so polite and helpful. We booked for one night but now staying another instead of going to The Yorkshire coast. Location and scenery are stunning, a place you can be in the moment and mindful. So much to do and many free places to visit. Breakfast was included in the room price, making the stay an absolute bargain. A nice selection of cereal and fruit as well as cooked full English, eggs Benedict and more gourmet options such as salmon. The pub is a quaint country inn, locals were polite and friendly too. We will be coming back regularly for sure. I've stayed in far worse and paid much more too for the privilege Thank you to the staff and we look forward to seeing you all more often as the area has everything we like and enjoy 🙂

One of the nicest pubs in Yorkshire. We sat outside round the back, watched the sun set and ate fish and chips. The quality of food was superb and the view was stunning.

Weekday lunchtime meal for three. Wonderful friendly attentive service, timely arrival of food, very good quality indeed, delicious. Photo is banana split, best I've ever tasted.

We visited for lunch after a walk around Brimham rocks. The food was top quality served by polite efficient staff. It was a lovely birthday lunch for a lady who'd travelled from Australia for the weekend. The steak pie and fish and chips were top drawer and a good selection of ale, with a pint from Timothy Taylors.

This was my first stay during a long trip in the UK and it happened to have the best food of my entire trip, and a lovely welcoming staff. I liked how the rooms are named and it’s a very cute area. I would absolutely stay there again.

We visited area for walking trip and used The Wellington weekend(21/2). Wow!!! What a great, quintessential, Yorkshire pub!! Staff, chefs, food and the locals are super amazing. We enjoyed our visit so much and will certainly return shortly! Highly recommend!!! Well done ✅ team. Simon & Gina

I stayed here a few weeks back with my cousin. Beautiful place. The rooms were lovely and extremely clean. I am very fussy usually but felt so comfortable. The pub was just lovely and meals were great. Breakfast was included and was really nice with plenty to choose from, the breakfast room over looked the fields. Definitely recommend.

Just home after a fab stay, which was too brief, but we will be returning. First impression clean, bright and inviting but more importantly the staff are all so friendly, efficient and hard working. We checked in and were escorted up to our room by a lovley young man who offered to carry our bags and held the doors open while chatting pleasantly. The room was lovley, immaculately clean, in really good condition and tastefully decorated. It was a proper bed, not 2 singles bolted together, with a comfortable mattrass and a really good quality headboard and 1 firm pillow and 1 soft pillow each. Proper coathangers along with extra blanket and a heater, if needed, in the wardrobe. Good selection of complimentary teas, coffee, drinking choc and biscuits. Bath and over bath shower and after my shower my skin felt lovley with the good quality soap. The bath towels were huge. We ate in the restaurant where there was an extensive menu with lots on the specials board with seasonal foods. Good selection of meat, game, poultry, fish and vegetarian meals and lots of gluten free meals available. Following a good night's sleep we had a lovley breakfast with self service cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt and juice, and/ or cooked food all prepared to a high standard and served with tea or coffee by the lovley friendly staff with gluten free toast available. There is nothing to dislike. Thank you 😊

We were in the area for a job and the wife was moaning she was hungry. As we were driving past we saw the car park busy and took a gamble. We were so glad we did. What a lovely lunch we had, with a lovely service. The food all home made by the looks of it and stunning!

Lovely pub, nice quiet, scenic area. We visited for a couple of drinks and a meal. We sat outside in the sun, as you can dine outside. The service was a little slow. As we ordered meals at 5:20 the meals didn't come for nearly an hour. But when they did ,then were all very nice. Absolutely amazing onion rings, best I've ever tasted. We all left very stuffed :D Would recommend.

We visited the area for the Christmas market in Harrogate which was a bit of a let down! What saved the trip was staying overnight at the Wellington! It was superb, the room, our evening meal and our breakfast! The staff were superb and made for a lovely stay. I lost my debit card and after an anxious trip into Harrogate returned to find it handed in and sitting on the till waiting for me! Top marks.

We were recommended to visit for Dinner and a few pints by the lady whose cottage we we're renting. Firstly we had an excellent meal and the Real Ale Quality was excellent. The pub is extremely Dog Friendly which is an added bonus. I also felt the food and drink price was very good. If I'm in the area again I won't hesitate to return.

I didn’t actually stay there, but I’m sure it would be a great experience as I had for a meal. The staff are brilliant, friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was superb and plentiful, I had the samosas to start and pork belly for my main. Delicious, highly recommended. Thank you to all.

This is a fantastic place to eat. We went for lunch on Friday and enjoyed the food so much that we returned for dinner on Saturday. Everything is made in house and the chefs know a thing or two about cooking. Portion sizes are generous so arrive hungry. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed and all staff are welcoming and friendly. Be warned, it is a busy place so book a table to ensure you get a meal at the time you want it. We loved it so much that we are thinking of returning to stay as well as to eat. Rooms are well priced and the Inn is in a perfect location for exploring the area, with Ripon, Harrogate and York all nearby. There are also some beautiful villages along the way, with other tourist attractions to visit, too. To end, we want to give a shout out to Kylie. She is personable, without being overbearing, and clearly loves her job. She served us very well and stands by every dish she serves. What an asset to the staff she is.

Lovely place in a beautiful location. Have stayed here a few times before for work but came back for pleasure. Food was excellent, service was excellent and we had to leave earlier than breakfast started and they made us bacon sandwiches and a little bag up! Only downside was some of the staff outside our window putting cardboard in the bins, while kicking it around and stacking empty kegs whilst chatting and swearing at each other when we were in bed (this was gone 22.00hrs)

L
Luke Kaboom

The food here was some of the best we have ever had. We had the pork belly and crispy beef starter and then the steak and ale pie and Hawaiian burger for mains. The service was wonderful and the food was so good that we came back for breakfast the next morning! It came to £75 for two mains, two starters, two large wines and two pints of Diet Coke which, for food as good as that, was fantastic value. Make sure to book a table before you go as it was fully booked.

A brilliant pub for getting wonderful food. Our Sunday lunch was delicious. Lots of it and beautifully cooked. Staff were helpful and ultra organised as it was a busy place.

One of my favourite pubs in the area to visit after a walk. Nice, clean and friendly. Love the guns over the bar, feels very shawn of the dead-esque. Dog friendly too

A round of applause for Helen, Michael and the whole team at the Wellington. We love the food, the ambience, the surroundings, the rooms and the views. It’s the attention to detail that also gives the Wellington five stars

We’ve stayed here several times and it has always been superb. The food and welcome are always hearty. The menu has been recently updated and is excellent. A talented and attentive team work here serving excellent food and beverage. The views across Nidderdale are fantastic and the hotel facilities in terms of rooms, parking and local attractions are second to none. I wholeheartedly recommend.

We were greeted by one friendly staff at the reception (though the other 2 ladies were a little luke warm) . The rooms were cosy and clean, however the bathroom and shower could be cleaned better. There were molds n mildew between the tiles. Breakfast was great, the lady was friendly and helpful. Very peaceful and quiet! Perfect for a relaxing night rest after long hours of drive. Brimham Rocks is a few mins drive from this inn. We had a fantastic stay.

What an amazing find on our touring holiday. From the time we stepped in through the door to the time we stepped out we felt like a valued customer. Staff greeted us with a smile and were really attentive. Thankfully we had rang earlier and booked a table. The menu and specials board gave a wide choice. Our food arrive within 15 mins of ordering. You will not be disappointed by the portion sizes. The food was nicely presented and tasted absolutely delicious. The service was first class by staff who never stopped. 👏👏. The tables well spaced with a lovely atmosphere. The prices are more than expectable. Excellent value. We were able to stop overnight in our motorhome on the carpark. Absolutely highly recommended. Thank you so much. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of our favourites locations some 90 minutes drive from home. A visual menu with some Indian food but mostly English. Always well cooked and served by some of the prettiest waitresses I've come across. We always leave a 10% tip.

I can only say I am lost for words in reviewing this hotel. Where it is situated is unbelievably scenic and beautiful surrounded by just nature and lots of green. The customer service was excellent as to room service and during eating meals. The choice of food from different menus is quite wide and does give great value for money for the quality of food served. It's a very cosy Inn for both the romantics and families and not to forget you can bring pets. You just need to let them know in advance when booking. The car park is huge with plenty of free parking space. The town centre is not too far and the Mckenzie farm shop is a must to visit with great food and gifts to take back at affordable prices. I normally don't give a five-star rating, but this is the exception as it ticks several of my boxes that make it special, which it did spending part of my Christmas here.

Went to the Wellington pub for our anniversary lunch today. We haven’t been in ages and it’s under new ownership. It was absolutely fantastic from the moment we arrived. Fabulous staff and warm friendly atmosphere. The food was fantastic and the choice unbelievable. Amazing value for money and quality second to none. Thanks so much we will be back soon!

Visited on Boxing day. Pub was very busy but we were served fairly quickly. Food was good with good portions. My only niggle was that our table was in the entrance way to the bar and we had two dogs with us which sort of made us feel 'in the way'.

Great menu choices, with creative variation on traditional pub food - Wensleydale Chicken — chicken Kiev, but with Wensleydale cheese, served with pommes daupinoise, and al dente vegetables. 👍🏻

Lovely location. Road noise not an issue for us.Duvet was so heavy it's like sleeping with 3 people on top of you. Shower door falls onto you, fixed overhead shower, you will never slip on the mat its like standing on a pebble beach. Staff definitely compete in who can wear the shortest skirt, but definitely works at waking men up in breakfast lol .

During our walk in Darley, we discovered a cozy and inviting restaurant that offered a perfect break. The warm atmosphere embraced us, and the attentive service, along with the friendly staff, enhanced our experience.

We stopped here by chance and really glad we did. They managed to sit 18 of us, the food and service were brilliant. Will definitely come back at some point to try some more menu items.

Hotel is advertised as having Wi-Fi facilities, however, this is not the case. As a solo traveller I was reliant upon the wifi to use as a way to connect with family and to feel safe. In rural locations I never have a mobile signal so purposely chose a hotel stating wi-fi access was available. When I spoke to the owner on the evening informing her that I was not able to connect I was met with attitude and informed that this was due to the restaurant/pub area being busy. The lack of connection was constant and at no point was I able to access the wi-fi. When I again raised this to staff in the morning, they confirmed that only certain rooms have wi-fi and that this is a really complaint. My point being, just don’t advertise having wi-fi. When the staff member informed the manager/owner again, I was met with attitude, defensive body language and excuses rather than an apology. The Inn itself is lovely, the food was impeccable and the staff were ALL friendly, courteous and helpful. The only downside is the wi-fi (which I appreciate is not important to all) and the manager/owner. Such a shame!

Food was lovely couldnt find anything wrong with it except it is quite expensive just over £40 for 2 meals and soft drinks. seems like items are missing off the menu and advertised on boards around the pub instead and there were no signs of a kids menu so half the food ended up being left, Plenty of parking on site and a nice beer garden for the nice weather

Not usually one for a negative review but here goes… Arrived and bought two pints from the bar (bit pricey at £12.50). Asked for a food menu to view outside where we had sat with the dog after walking on for lunch. We were provided with the menus and were asked to order at the bar when ready. We had barely taken the froth of our beers before returning to order where we were informed the kitchen had now closed. This was probably worth mentioning when providing the menus at 13:55 that food stops at 14:00. Advertising food service times would also be beneficial. Left feeling very disappointed with no apology. Real shame because based on other reviews and seeing the menu, the food sounded excellent.

The food was a good temperature. The Broccoli you needed a chainsaw to cut it not a knive and fork. The lamb was very thin slices and chewy. You could taste oil on the potatoes. One of the worse Sunday dinners I have ever eaten.
