This buffet in the East Bay is super popular with locals, and for good reason. They have a huge selection of food, so there’s always something for everyone. Everything I tried was fresh and really tasty. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable compared to other buffets in the area, so it’s a great deal. Definitely a spot worth checking out!
It’s been years since we’ve been back here. We came here since the price was $14-$16/person. On Valentine day this year, the whole family decided to come here for Chinese food. The group was 22 people. There is no reservation so one of us had to come at 4PM to be on the list for 6PM. The line is so long and people are patiently waiting for good food. The price on this special day is $35/person. Yes, it’s a $900 meal. There are quite a few dishes for everyone to enjoy, the nice thing is every dish is actually tasty, not bland at all. I started with some sashimi, salmon, tuna and yellow tail. The rolls are soggy and not crunchy due to being out so long or the seaweed wraps not too crunchy. The chicken wings are my favorite, very hot and tasty. The oysters in sauce are great too. I’m sure there are something good for everyone regardless how picky they are. The hot and sour soup I like. The fruit and dessert bar has plenty of things to choose from. The ice cream station is crowded with kids and adults too. There’s a cook to order station like in many Mongolian buffet, you choose your noodles, meats, seafood, veggies and they will stir fry for you which is excellent. There are clams, shrimps, snow crab legs which are gone very quickly but refilled fast too. Anyhow, for a few people the $35 is good if you all like these food, but for 20-22 people, $900 can order many excellent dishes in a good Chinese restaurant. We may not be back here for another fee years although the food is great the service is very attentive and fast.
Great American Chinese buffet with delicious food that reminds me of the taste of home. Generous portions, a wide variety of dishes, friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. I’ll definitely be back again.
This is one of the more famous buffets in the bay area don't miss it! The staff are nice and the managers are nice and funny 🤣! I come here for lunch sometimes. The weekend price is a bit high for me.
Well...Here I was in Newark, and I needed 3 things..fuel for the truck, a Slide Track for my Peasly Hammerslacker, and some food. I fueled up at the Chevron, and after talking to the guy there it was decided that I'd never find the right Slide Track because my Hammerslacker is from the 1930's and I'd probably have to go to N. Dakota or maybe Wyoming to find one. The good news was that the dude flipped the switch on the Newark Buffet, and told me how great everything is, so I went there lickity split. He was right, the food was amazing! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆
Came here on a friday for dinner. This place was super packed, and people were waiting for tables. Dispite the business, the staff come clear your plates everytime you get up for more. The selection of food is pretty wide here, starting with the sushi, which they have octopus, tuna, salmon, and even snapper, BUT NO HAMACHI!!!. The sashimi were super fresh, the fish was sweet, and super tasty, that I had 3 plates of sushi, mostly nigiri, and sashimi. My other favorite was the steam oyster, which also seem to be a popular item, and it always get clear out by everyone pretty fast. The steam oyster with gravy sauce was enjoyable, but the staff could do a better job at removing the broken shell, and the gravy sauce could use more salty note, may be some oyster sauce, or chicken bouillion would hit the spot. The grilled/charboiled mix clam was also enjoyable. The cheesy sauce mussle was not bad, but also could use more salty note. I wish they have raw oyster at the cold bar, but they did not. They did have snail, chicken feet, and octopus may be, all were enjoyable. The boiled shrimp look low quality so I didn't tried it. The crawfish have a good cajun spice, but the crawfish texture, and flavor was no good, obviously frozen, and lost their bouncy texture and sweetness. I tried almost all of the soup, they were all good, but my favorite was the deserve soup, taro with sago, it wasnt too sweet, and was quitew enjoyable. They have beef rib, and kalbi too, but I didnt them. Dinner was $35 after tax. Would definitly come back next time.
If you're looking for a busy all you can eat Asian seafood buffet, put Newark Buffet on the list. We came on a Saturday afternoon about 1pm to celebrate my birthday. They operate on a first come first served basis. There was a line out front, go in get a number and hang out a while. We waited about 20 mins. We had heard things about this place from family members, and the birthday person is free with ID. Lots of people come to celebrate birthdays. They offer an amazing array of food options. Soups, salads, sushi, build your own stir fry, fish, shrimp, oysters, noodle dishes, rice, veggies, cookies, fruit, jello, pudding, ice cream with toppings. Lots to choose from. This is a pack em in move em out place, reasonable for family gatherings. Not quite or romantic
First time visiting this buffet on a Sunday afternoon. Very Busy. Waited approx 30 mins to be seated. They gave me a number and had plenty of seats inside while I waited even tho several people chose to wait outside in the front. The variety was good. The chairs were very comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. The food was piping hot. The Mongolian BBQ was delicious. The service was great! Our server, Frank, was always refilling our drinks with haste and cleared our plates as soon as we finished. Very friendly too! Didn't understand English very well but overall, very nice. Yes, diaper changing table in woman's largest stall in bathroom. Price on Sundays is dinner price of $28.99 all day and $1.99 for drink. Will definitely come back for birthday (reserve a room).

Great customer service. yummy selection of food, especially the crab legs. we had a good time celebrating my mother's 84th birthday
Food was delicious and clean environment. Many varieties of selections. Excellent place to bring families and relatives. Very nice service and quickly cleaning table with empty plates.

Went on a Sunday right around opening time. This place was packed and for a group of 3, expect to wait a minimum of 15 minutes. The actual food is typically buffet-quality. Sushi and sashimi is fine, enough options for you to go through at least 5 rounds. I'd load up on the sushi and meats. Soups can help clear up the grease. Overall, if you want to experience a decent buffet in the East Bay, this place will do.
Didn’t know the price before i went in and saw all the good seafood thinking it would be expensive i tried to eat more than i thought possible. Finished and went to pay to find out it was only around 20$. What a deal!! Tried giving a tip but they refused therefore morally i have to give them a good review. Would highly recommend if in the area
5 stars for the sheer variety. 3 stars for taste. 5 for price. 3 for noiseness. 5 for service. Overall 4 stars. If your priority is variety then a strong recommendation. If you prioritize taste, even if it pricier, then check around first. Maybe go to Tai Pan instead.
Its pretty fair for a buffet around here. Its mostly Asian themed as the usual but it's still decent. Sushi wasn't that good but their salmon and chicken was their best offerings in my opinion. The lunch was pretty cheap and the variety isn't that good but its OK. I wouldn't go back for lunch but maybe dinner is better.
Haven't been to a Chinese buffet for years. One of the reason is many Chinese buffet restaurants are closed around the bay area. Anyway, let's get to the review. This is one of the few chinese buffets reminding around the bayarea. Parking is easy. The food is fresh. For taste, I personally think it's about average. There are crab legs, oysters, crawl fish, and other sea foods during dinner hours, not sure about lunch hours. Lines are usually long but move quickly. We went on Sunday dinner time and waited about 30 mins. Personally, I think it's not too bad for wait time. Prices are reasonable for food choices and quality.
The Korean beef needs improvement. Use higher quality beef, don't overcook it and add enough marinade sauce. The barbecue beef ribs are too sweet. Use barbecue sauce with less sugar. The pizza could be better. Use fresh mozzarella cheese and add toppings. The soft self serve ice cream could use more vanilla flavoring. I was disappointed that the chocolate side wasn't available.
It’s so nice that the Newark Buffet is finally open again! The food quality seems to have improved since before the pandemic. I ate there both at lunch time and at dinner time. Although some of the items are the same, the dinner menu is definitely a step up with some delicious seafood, including sashimi, oysters on the shell, crayfish and other goodies. The only downsides are that tables aren’t socially distanced at all. Even though most people wore masks when they went to get food at the buffet, some people didn’t wear masks and they weren’t being monitored at all.
Great selection of seafood, Chinese food, and sushi. They give senior discounts and also have a free birthday meal for the person celebrating with parties of 4 or more.

Just an okay place overall. Limited options, and the small selection in each category makes it feel a bit underwhelming. Nothing really stands ou. Everything tastes normal, not bad but not particularly good either.

Hi, I came today around 2:30 PM, about 30 minutes before dinner time. I came specifically for the sushi, and I was charged the dinner price. I was completely fine with that because I came for the food, so the price wasn’t an issue. However, when I went to get the sushi, the chef gave me a side-eye and told me I couldn’t eat it. I explained that I was charged the dinner price, which is why I was getting the sushi, but he stayed completely silent and never apologized. Also, we had only been eating for about 30 minutes when the server brought out the check. We hadn’t even had dessert yet. It really felt like we were being rushed out, even though there were a lot of open tables. When I checked out, I also spoke to the person at the front, but I still never received an apology. Please train your staff because the table servers are the ones who should communicate with customers—not the chef, who doesn’t even know what the customer paid.

poor service I came in they seated me then closed the grill as soon as I got there with out any notice. Then when I brought it up they wouldn't adjust the bill at all. Pretty lame.
We waited 45 minutes for a table and were seated in a separate room away from the main restaurant, which felt uncomfortable—especially since we were dining with children. When I politely asked the server if we could move to a different table, her response was very rude and dismissive, as if I was asking for something unreasonable. I was told “no” and that others were waiting, which was unnecessary and unprofessional. We are paying customers, not asking for a favor. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t improve. The buffet food was oily, cold, and lacked flavor. Nothing tasted fresh. We drove from San Francisco specifically to eat here because we used to enjoy this restaurant, but this visit was a complete disappointment. Sadly, we will not be returning
Line took 40 mins, super packed, we were sat and 5 mins after we were given the check. They only had 3 lines of food, no selection for kids, only bland sea food. Not sure why I trusted the reviews. The food made the entire family sick and nauseous.
Ordered a lot of food for a party 2 days in advance. After receiving the delivery, half of rangoons were missing, and half of the egg rolls were damaged and soaked in sauce. They did not close the sauce lids properly, so all of it fell onto the spring rolls. Called them to ask for replacement and the person refused to listen and just hung up on me. Would not order from them again - Terrible service!!!
