I had a great experience at Slim Chickens in Helotes! The restaurant was clean and welcoming, making for a comfortable dining atmosphere. It was a bit tricky to find at night due to the parking lot lights being off, but once inside, I was met with excellent service. Tristan and Andrea provided fantastic customer service, from helping with my order to delivering the food to my table. I ordered “The Chick” plate, which came with three crispy chicken tenders, fries, toast, and a drink—all for under $10, which is a great value! We also tried the fried pickles and the tender Mac bowl, both of which were delicious. The highlight of the meal was the desserts in a jar—definitely a must-try! Overall, Slim Chickens in Helotes offers tasty food, friendly service, and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

Spicy Tax

I've been here twice and if you're like me, you're wondering how it stacks up to the other famous chicken place that starts with a C. We ordered the slim combo, buffalo ranch chicken sandwich and the Nashville hot as well as the brownie, oreo cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake jars 🫙. What I liked: 1. Very wide variety of sauces (the ranch has to be one of the best I've tasted) 2. The chicken is juicier than an 🍊 and isn't bathed in oil 3. Fries are nice, crispy and I like the taste the peel gives it 4. Desserts are not too sweet but just right, they hit the spot after the food and you get to keep the jar 5. We got 5 different sauces and weren't charged for them 🤭 What could be improved: 1. The restaurant doesn't seem to have strong AC so the restaurant is warm 2. The toast just tastes like garlic bread but it still tasted good 3. Service is good but nothing compared to the big C I am definitely recommending this restaurant to the girlies

Chris provided exceptional customer service and gave us a break down of the menu. Tenders were on point, not dry or overcooked. Wing were amazing, wish they had lemon pepper and seems that they are aware however they are working on it. They have that good ice too! I would highly recommend this place to family and friends.

I am obsessed with these place! I was a big fan of raising canes for awhile when we moved here, but when I found this place with all their yummy sauces and side choices I was converted. My hubby who eats low carb also loves being able to get their grilled tenders! We have been many times now and have never been disappointed. I love their Mac and cheese and fried okra. Be sure to try their sriracha garlic, mango habanero, and cayenne Ranch. I honestly hope to see more of them pop up around town! Please support this yummy place! We have never had any issues with the service!

I was in the area and tried Slim C for takeout. Eat in area looked nice but I wanted to beat traffic, covered outdoor seating as well. Overall clean, not too busy, friendly service, fair prices. Food was only okay though.

I ordered the Chick's meal with Slims sauce. The tenders, fries, and sauce are really good. The toast is like lightly toasted Wonder bread, or in other words, mid. The drive thru service was friendly, but took a while. It was about a 5-8 minute wait at the window, but our food came out hot and fresh, so the tradeoff went in my favor. I'd eat here again.

I just tried the House wrap at Slim Chickens. What a disiapointment~ It was so small and there was hardly any chicken in it! It was mostly just bread and lettuce. They need to get better chefs! But, the lady taking my order was really nice and helpful. I wish I had order something different because I was really hungry!

I’m still not entirely sold on this place. First review but food service and quality is inconsistent. Today strips were piping hot and delicious but wings were a bit tough and “overfried”. I roast my wings at home and they fall off the bone. Not so much here. Fries were good, but the slaw seemed a day old as it was too moist/mushy as it had stayed in dressing to long. It’s a Thursday and I feel like this made yesterday morning or possible Tuesday. Great slaw is still a bit crunchy but nicely dressed. Bathroom (men’s) needs a little more TLC and upkeep, photos tell the tail.

I stopped in and tried the 3-piece chicken tenders meal for the first time. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the size of the tenders, they were some very slim chicken tenders. On the bright side, the chicken itself was tasty, and the service was fast. Not worth the value for $10 meal.

I feel so sad reviewing this but I hope someone from the store sees it and they can find ways to improve. I was so excited to visit this place because it was my husband's first time at a Slims Chicken restaurant. Yet, unfortunately since the beginning customer service wasn't great. Not once did the staff smile or exchanged any pleasantries. As we waited for the food (about 20 - 30 minutes) I went to the restroom to wash my hands and as soon as I went in, I got a foul smell. Not sure when was the last time they cleaned them. Once food arrived, I noticed there was a stand of hair in one of my chicken tenders 😭 No joke, I almost puked. I guess it's true what they say: You can tell how clean a kitchen is by how clean their restrooms are. Ugh, I'm just so disappointed. The size of the chicken tenders weren't great but at least my husband's meal was good to him.

It never fails this location can never serve you fresh fries. You can wait in long in drive thru for 5-10 minutes and still end up with an order full of old food. Do no waste your time

Normally a 4 or 5 rating for us but the one time I go for the chicken sandwich they are out of buns. Also the wings didn't have much flavor to them and weren't that great. The tenders were on point as always and will remain our go to. Would have been nice if they hadn't ran out of drink carriers. All of this during the early afternoon. Update. Went here to pick up dinner..and I have to say I was very disappointed when I got home. I ordered a chicken club sandwich but when I got home there was no chicken on my sandwich. The manager did correct it by refunding my meal.. but as for my dinner I had to go without. Probably should have had more attention spent on my order then the cashier eating Popsicles while at the register. I know its hot but that is something shouldn't be seen by customers.

I'm sorry, DO NOT buy wings here...why does the lemon pepper wings have to be about cooked to 177 degrees internal and the results are Horrible. The wings are too over cooked. Additionally, do not expect shakes at this location even though they are advertised in the store on the menu. Fries .. overcooked. The toast was the best thing placed in front of me. However, the chicken strips and chocolate brownie was absolutely delightful so my children tell me.

My first time visiting slim’s chicken was very disappointing. Gabriel was not equipped with the knowledge nor the skills to take order or hand out food at the window. He needs to be at the back of the house focusing on cleaning for sure. Lastly, he gave me my food very aggressively and didn’t have the decency to say “you have a great day”. Slim Chicken do better please, as i will be going back to Canes moving forward. Update: My order was inaccurate and I had to drive back 10 minutes and they didn’t show any sign of empathy nor offered an apology! Yep, this is my first and last time visiting Slim’s Chicken.

The best thing this place has is their tender bites and desert cups. Their wings are straight trash. I have ordered lemon pepper wings 2 different occasions and months apart and have received only plain wings no seasoning straight trash. So I won't ever order their wings again. Their fries are garbage.
