We had a delightful dinner out in the garden room. The atmosphere was relaxing and clean. Would recommend as a perfect location for a special occasion. Food was delicious, the crab dip was slightly more creamy/buttery. Looking forward to coming back soon!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food, service and environment never disappointed me or my family. I just recently visited the restaurant this week and got a few cool shots of some meals so you know what to expect 😍 we ordered Three Cheese ravioli with vodka sauce and the catch of the day (rockfish) served with delicious pineapple based sauce, ashed potatoes and vegetables. Also got a delicious sangria. I would recommend this place to anyone and for any occasion - actually there was a Rehearsal Dinner taking place when we went and since their dinning room is so big, they had a dedicated space for that whole party (30+ people). Still the restaurant seemed nearly empty, so imagine how much room I'm talking about!

July 2nd 2022. Hello web searchers, my name is Reasha. This may be random and a little unorthodox to quite a few. The pictures presented are of me and my ex. However I decided to try what I believe to be a safer and more raw way to express this restaurant’s way of making experiences feel like the moment last always, 😂you're living your own movie scene, or you simply just feel the need to reminisce bittersweet memories and thats okay. My first and only visit to Tarrant’s West was everything I could hoped it would be maybe more, my time at the restaurant was a moment that could only be created once and I thank them for their excellent customer service, patience, compassion and all around great hospitality. It is the place I actually said I’d love to be proposed at fancy that right? Well, maybe in my future the right one will stumble upon this (like in the movies😂) and just let a moment in time be reborn. I inspire actually to be a writer this is a review so that will be a viewers only, secret. Thank you Tarrant’s West for giving a young woman a milestone she can look back on with no regrets but confidence that life has its happy moments and the rain doesn’t last always. I hope to visit again soon I pray, may the second visit be just as exceptional as the first even If I’m dining for one. Lunch on Independence Day at Tarrant’s West with family. Not crowded, seated on sun porch immediately, fast great service. Love the ambiance. Entrees included Greek salad, Jackfruit BBQ salad bowl, fried green tomato sandwich on Texas toast with side of fruit, and club sandwich with side of chicken and dumplings soup. Food was delicious, large portions, servers fast. My mom loved the chicken and dumplings soup, my older brother loved his fried green tomato sandwich and my younger brother loved his jackfruit bbq bowl. My Greek salad was loaded with chickpeas, sweet peppers, pepperoncinis, and artichoke hearts. Delicious. Overall a great experience, we shall return.

Had a good lunch for everyone. Service was excellent too. Highly recommend.

Haven't been to the downtown location, but Tarrant's West was a great experience. The service was exceptional and the food really topped it all off. Took my parents to dinner and they loved it. Thank you to all of the wonderful people at Tarrant's West who helped us. ❤️

My wife and I came for an early Valentine's Day Dinner. The night before the holiday was great as we hit it just right. Not too busy. Our server, Brea C., was wonderful! She was friendly, fun to talk to and very attentive. Our drinks never ran dry. She even made us mocktails that weren't on the menu! They were delicious and Valentine's Day themed. My wife had the Chicken Cordon Bleu and said the meats were tender and the sauce was delicious. I had the New York Strip. It was amazing. It came cooked to order (Medium) and was thick and yet very tender. All in all our first time here was a great experience and we highly recommend them! If you can, sit in Brea's section and you'll be well cared for!

We needed a place for 20 family members after mother's Celebration of Life. Tarrant's West said yes immediately and had everything ready before we arrived. Very roomy, great atmosphere, and the service and food were wonderful! We had a such a nice time there as a family. Thank you so much!!!!

I held my sisters baby shower here. Melissa their coordinator was so helpful and did an amazing job! We received personalized menus, and could pick and choose what we wanted to have, although they did such a wonderful job with their recommendations I didn't need to change a thing! The time and attention that was given to us made the day that much better. The food and drinks were amazing and the room we were in was gorgeous. Thank you so much for making my sisters party amazing! I wish I still lived in VA as this would be my new usual restaurant if I did, but I will definitely be back when I visit!

Justin and Brianna were the servers for a crowd of over 30 and they were fantastic. Organized, speedy without rushing and attentive to all of our needs. Food was well prepared and very tasty. I was impressed and will return

Had never been to TW so I was taking a chance hosting a wedding rehearsal party of 45 folks. I’m a tough grader and will state unequivocally that the evening came off without a hitch. Our TW coordinator, Melissa was extremely accommodating and responsive. The food and service were excellent. The wait staff was exceptional. Terrific experience. Thanks, Terry

Had an evening business meeting at Tarrant’s West, and it was a fabulous experience! The atmosphere was perfect for a productive yet comfortable meeting. Justin took excellent care of our group — attentive, professional, and kept us on track and on time without ever feeling rushed. The service and attention to detail made the evening smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend Tarrant’s West for both business and dining — we’ll definitely be back!

Food was excellent. Service was very good. We had a Christmas function and the layout of the tables made it tougher to converse with the group. Again, food was great. Portions seemed small but it keeps you slim.

I helped plan my nephew’s rehearsal dinner this past weekend. I loved working with Melissa. She was always ready to answer my questions and help in every way possible.My every request was granted. The dinner was a huge success. Melissa and the servers went above and beyond with every aspect of the night. The rehearsal got rave reviews from everyone. Thanks for making it a perfect night. Tarrants West was a great place for my son’s rehearsal dinner. Melissa was awesome to work with and our server couldn’t have been more accommodating. Great food, drinks and atmosphere.

We had a baby shower at Tarrant’s West and reserved the sunroom for the event for about 30 people. Everything was wonderful! Leading up to the event and on the day of, Melissa and her team were fantastic - responsive, knowledgeable, and super accommodating and helpful. The food was delicious and received many compliments from the guests. The prices of the room reservation and food are also very reasonable. I would highly recommend for this kind of event and would certainly host another of my own events here again!

A group of us went to Tarrant's West for lunch. Justin B and Bri were our servers and they did a fantastic job. They timed everything perfectly, there are no long periods without some action taking place. Serving the bread between the appetizers and entree was fantastic. They were attentive to everyone in our group of 40+ people. The food was fantastic and the room was well suited for a group our size.

I hosted my mom's surprise 70th birthday at Tarrant's West and had a wonderful experience. Their event planner, Melissa, was great to work with- extremely responsive and helpful through every step of the way. The space we had the event in was well appointed and perfect for our occasion. The staff had it set up for the best possible flow, which was great considering we were near our max capacity for the event. The food was wonderful and everyone was so complimentary of it. Our servers Justin, Bri, and Sade were constantly present and were very timely with beverage orders and cleaning up empty plates and glasses. My whole family agreed that we were so happy we chose to have this special night at Tarrant's West and many of our guests said they would keep it in mind if they ever needed to host an event. Highly recommend!

We reserved the banquet room for my daughter’s engagement party here on Saturday night and everything was excellent! Melissa was amazing throughout the whole process of reserving the room, picking out the menu choices and was always very responsive in all my emails to her. The two ladies who were our waitresses during the party were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed the whole night! I wish I remembered their names because they were awesome! Everyone in our party loved the food and drinks and said how wonderful everything was at the restaurant!

We've been coming here for years and have always received good food and great service. They also tend to add a touch of class to everything that makes them shine a bit more than comparable places, like the cinnamon buns they serve at brunch and the garlic and oil bread served with lunch and dinner.

I recently met up with friends in Richmond to celebrate a birthday. The birthday girl chose this restaurant. What an amazing surprise for all!!! Everything you would want from a restaurant occurred. Great customer service, food and atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I hope it’s not too late to leave a review for Tarrant’s West, because they truly saved our wedding day. We got married in May, back when Richmond City had water issues, and the restaurant we booked for our reception canceled on us the day of the wedding. My husband-to-be and I were scrambling to find a place with a private room that could take 15 people on such short notice. We were turned down left and right-- until Tarrant’s West became our miracle. Melissa, the catering and event coordinator, and her entire team were incredible. We called around noon, and they somehow had us fully booked for a 7 PM dinner that same day. When we arrived, they had printed menus with our names and a congratulations message waiting for us. The food was delicious, pricing was reasonable, and the whole evening turned into the most beautiful, intimate reception we could have imagined. We truly could not have asked for anything better.

We hosted a bridal shower for my daughter on the Saturday after Christmas. The organizing of details for the shower was smooth and the service on the day of the shower was wonderful! The food was excellent! Tarrant’s is beautiful, met all of our needs, and was the perfect choice!

Tarrant’s West hosted our office holiday party and we had a fantastic experience! The food was phenomenal and beautifully presented, the service was exceptional, and the venue was just perfect for our event. Throughout the night our leadership received so many compliments on everything, the team truly exceeded expectations. We highly recommend and will definitely return!

I was in a state of panic as I was hosting a last minute dinner party. I had little to no success with other restaurants. One resturant events planner was extremely rude, so I quickly canceled the reservations. I called Tarrants West and spoke with Melissa, the restaurants Events Coordinator. Melissa accommodated my every want and need without hesitation in 2 days. She even added some special touches that were memorable. We had a party of 20 quest. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere and service were all top tier. Melissa ensured our night would be extremely special, although I still do not know how she pulled it off so quickly. We had one waitress and her name is Abby. Abby’s service was a 10 out of 10. She was absolutely AMAZING. My party was pleased and enjoyed every moment. I will never hesitate to have my next gathering at Tarrants West. 1st and only choice. Thank you to Melissa and Abby who made this a very special night for us.

We booked the restaurant’s private room for a wedding rehearsal dinner and Melissa, Justin and team absolutely knocked it out of the park!! We had 37 guests, and they were so flexible — they did all the basic set up, printed personalized menus, served the kids early — and from the regular menu—and kept the rest of us libated while the courses arrived. Melissa worked with the chef to tweak one of the entree options to make it dairy-free, annd Justin kept everything coordinated. They even brought out a dessert with a birthday candle on it for one bridesmaid. And the food for delicious!!! Everyone was very impressed and satisfied at the end of the night.

The oysters are second to none! And we've had oysters from Richmond to San Francisco and following the Gulf Coast. Every meal here is perfect. I don't know how they do it. But we love this restaurant.

Tight parking lot and cramped seating arrangement with uncomfortable chairs. The bathroom had a slippery tile that felt dangerous. Only reason I gave 4 stars. The food and the staff are 5 stars. We tried a few different appetizers and entrees. Nothing disappointed. Quality ingredients, nice flavor combinations, decent options available for all tastes/preferences, and reasonable prices just on the slightly higher end of reasonable. Hummus plate was delicious and excellent portions for a table of 3. Definitely recommend trying.

Having been one of my favorites in the past I was not as pleased with my last visit. The service was friendly but the food was bland.

Made reservations for dinner and the table was ready when we arrived. The hostess was polite and quickly sat us. Our waitress was also friendly and offered her suggestions between 2 dishes I was trying to decide between. I opted for the chicken and waffles along with a side salad. The portion sizes were really good. I was a little disappointed with the chicken and waffles, something was missing - it tasted a little bland. The atmosphere was pretty nice for a date night. I would come here again.

This place has very lively and colorful food. Think American meets Mediterranean. Whatever description that you believe the food will be, take that completely out of your mind. They are very descriptive in the menu, however after visiting many, many restaurants I can say it wasn’t what I expected. That wasn’t to say it wasn’t good. Just not what we expected. If I were to revisit, I definitely would try something different based on our experience. We ordered the crab cakes - no fillers. It’s not lump crab cake, just crab. The roasted red pepper hummus, was good as well. Short rib ragout (special) - Very flavorful Monte Cristo w/ orange marmalade - This was different yet flavorful.

We went on Mother’s Day for dinner. The restaurant was moderately full. We enjoyed our dinner, however, appetizers took a while to come out. Our servers noticed without us prompting, and said she would go to check on our appetizers, and came out shortly with them. Nevertheless, that took longer than they should have. The food was fairly good. the highlights of the meal, where the slow cook, short rib special and the slow cook, short rib special and the she crab soup. The calamari was a little bit of a letdown, the calamari interior was tender, however, the outside was not crispy. The crabcake was good, but not exceptional. Overall, the meal was solid, and we enjoyed our experience. We would go back again.

Upscale diner feel. We had reservations, arrived early and were seated right away. Our server was attentive, chipper and polite. We had looked on the reviews and saw meatloaf so drove over for that only to be disappointed that they had a different menu where it is no longer ordered. Decided on the Health Bowl with grilled chicken which was delicious and satisfying. Also a Chicken sub which was a hot sandwich and a side of mashed potatoes that were bland, pretty much tasteless. Also ordered a lemon Drop Martini that had a pretty colored rock sugar on the rim but was light on the alcohol. Next time we’re in the area we might get a Health Bowl To Go but unlikely we’d go back for a sit down meal. Here’s the menu as of the end of Sept ‘23.

We got fish and chips and lollipop lamb chops. Fish had very strong frozen taste and lamb chops were ordered medium partially came out completely raw. Super nice place and atmosphere, but food unfortunately is not great at all although appetizers were delicious! Just an honest review.

Our server was terrible. Sloppy appearance, only mildly cordial, and slow in attendance. She spilled our friend's martini on the table and my husband's leather shoes. She did not offer to bring a new martini and made little effort to clean the mess. Barely apologized. Wish I remembered her name. The food was mediocre at best. it was edible, but none of us were impressed. Atmosphere was decent and the sound level was not too bad considering the size of the room. Would not recommend or return.

Overall I remember this being a fantastic Venue and was overall thrilled to see this on the schedule for lunch Oh how times have changed. Small group of us and right off the bat it seemed off. It felt like we were a bother to the our waitress. You could tell she didn’t want to be there. Fake smiles and short snippy responses. If you’re a fan of well done, thin, chewy Filets, then this is your spot. I tired a few bites and couldn’t do it. I wish mine would’ve looked like the persons next to me. Everything else was bland and flavorless. I see why the salt and Pepper shakers had dents. Guess they get used a lot. Mini dessert sampler was ok. Far from good. Just ok.

Placed an order to go. Crab dip was good but the pita bread that came with it is bland and uncooked. The Buffalo shrimp was not good at all. Tasted old and reheated. The garlic bread was really good. The chicken quesadilla was very soggy and bland. Not good at all. Spent $50 on 3 appetizers. Not a good value for the quality.

I recently went here and I couldn’t eat the food. Im not a picky person when it comes to food either. I tried the New Orleans shrimp and grits which I don’t know how thats called New Orleans shrimp and grits. I’ve had shrimp and grits from New Orleans before and that was nowhere close to it. No seasoning at all and there was cheddar cheese in it. I couldn’t even find the grits. Then I had the chicken bacon and Swiss sandwich. It was a burger. I thought it was going to be a normal sandwich but it was a hot burger and rhe cheese was melted. I had to give it to my husband. He ordered a medium rare steak and it was medium wel at best and had next to no taste. The waitress was very attentive though

I ordered online. I pulled up to the restaurant and parked in front of the big sign that said 'Pick up orders' and right next to the parking space that said 'Carry out only.' I walked up the stairs to a door that read 'Employees Only.' I stood there for a minute and went in. I could see the staff, but no one ever greeted me. So, I walked around to the inside, where the bar is, to ask for my order. A young lady greeted me and got my food. She explained that it's best just to come to the bar for pickup. I received a complimentary garlic bread, which was delicious because it actually had pieces of garlic. My fries were delicious. I ordered the Monte Crisco sandwich. That needs to be removed from the menu. It wasn't appetizing. It reminded me of nothing so much as a Monte Cristo.

Had a lot of good reviews so my daughter and I went to try it out. Had to sit at one of the tables next to the bar. It’s a big place so there was plenty of open room but I guess they were having a wedding event of sorts which closed of some sections I guess. Daughter liked her burger. I got the fish and chips. Something was way off. Tasted like the fish had been bathed in bleach or something. Fries were good so I simply ate the fries and left the fish. This review is more for people that go and get the fish and chips… if the taste is off send it back and get a burger.
