This gem is totally amazing! From the people (owner and staff) that greet and serve you, to the drinks, food, and desserts; this place is not to be overlooked. The chef is outstanding with all of his creations. He works with locally sourced products to bring you a very special culinary experience.

This is an amazing restaurant with clearly a great chef. Dishes run about $25-35, but would be twice that in New York or Los Angeles. Gourmet American food!

Update to my update: I ventured in for my final visit till I vacation on HHI or convince my wife to drive 4hrs to eat here. Alexis and John are awesome! Going to miss dinners here :( This is a must eat when in the HHI area. My till the next meal choice was the baby back ribs attempted to finish 4 other times and finally did this last meal. The serving sizes HUGE and the flavor is rich with a hint of spice. Trust me don’t eat to much bread or order an app if you plan on getting these :) added a pick for your mouth water enjoyment. John, Alexis and Devon (okay the whole staff) I wish you all the best and hope to see you all again soon. Update: probably my 20th time visiting and left very very very satisfied. First Review: Great food and wine! Decent beer options too. Almost gave 4 stars because owner is a Flyers fan lol but they get it back for being a Hockey fan in the South.

The snapper special was amazing as was the pecan pie. I highly recommend if you’re looking to treat yo’self.

Wonderful Service great atmosphere. I had the filet with cauliflower mash. Probably best filet I have ever eaten.

This was such an experience indeed, the atmosphere in Hogs Head is awesome, fine dining at its best. The ambiance in there is amazing in every way possible. Perfect lighting inside. Me and the wifey was celebrating our 8TH Wedding Anniversary. I suggested Hogs Head because it’s a very romantic spot and not too big, perfect for the Celebration. My wife loved it and couldn’t stop talking about the atmosphere and the welcoming the place felt and also her food that she said that was very delicious. We’ll definitely be returning. Hopefully Hogs Head will bring back lunch again. That Pot Belly Pig Pulled Pork was so delicious, I’m hoping I’m saving it right. Lol!! Big shot out to John & Alexis for having us. You two are the BOMB!!!

This is my first review of any kind. I was so blown away by this hidden gem, that I am making this the first: Every aspect of this establishment is beyond expectations. The service was great, and the food was truly amazing. I have lived here for 3 years, and found this by mistake, but it was the best mistake I have ever made because this place knocked my socks off.

Best meal I've had in a while. Absolutely top notch. Great service, great atmosphere and unbelievably great food. The pamento burger was possibly one of the top 5 burgers I've ever had. Best meatloaf I've ever tasted. Large portion size. Be prepared to pay for being treated so well but so worth it.

What a lovely dining experience! Nice ambiance and super friendly bartender. Never knew this place was tucked away in moss creek plaza. My friend and I split the bourbon bacon scallop appetizer which was amazing! Crispy bacon, great flavors! I then had a duck special entree and it was cooked perfectly, served with risotto and garlic spinach. Absolutely delicious. Even the housemade bread and garlic dipping oil was outstanding and I’m not usually a fan of oils like that. Looking forward to trying more menu items at this hidden gem!

I had a party of 19 and they took care of us on short notice. The food was FANTASTIC and the service was great too. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful evening at great little restaurant Amazing tuna tartar and jerk pork!

The best comfort food I’ve had in a looooooong time. Please just bury me in their shrimp and grits when I die. My guest had the pimento Mac and Cheese with a lobster tail added on top. We could not have been happier. I couldn’t eat it all so brought home the remaining grits in a take out container and reheated them for breakfast. So happy. Thank you Hogshead!

First off Alexis was amazing!! What a wonderful personality to be around. Being from the South I look for Seafood when traveling. Their Scallops with bacon, and spinach were cooked to perfection!! Alexis took time out of her very busy schedule to introduce me to some of the wildlife outside that loves attention and food. Tried to take one of the beautiful cats with me. All in all, great experience and great food!! Alexis you were amazing!!!

This is an amazing restaurant. In all the 20 years I have been coming down here, I have never even heard of Hogs Head, but I loved my experience. The best French fries I have had in years. The tuna small plate was perfection as was the burger and shrimp Caesar. The staff is welcoming and attentive. Social distancing was excellent. I will return.

What a great place for dinner! We enjoyed some wonderful local seafood offerings, creatively prepared. In addition, a nice homemade dessert menu. We had an enjoyable selection of Bourbons as well. Wonderful find. The proprietors really care and took the time to come out and meet us. We would highly recommend this restaurant!

The wife and I agree, probably the best meal we've had at HHI. Food was delicious and more than enough. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. A little odd location but quaint and it seems like it is a favorite with the locals.. Definitely worth the trip. Get the pork rib stack with fried green tomatoes as a meal and the Creek Tea as a cocktail .

Table for 2, arrived a little early but were still seated right away. Waiter, John, was very friendly and eager to serve. Took our drink orders and, because we already knew what we wanted, our meal orders (prime rib). Service throughout dinner was excellent, meal was excellent, atmosphere was great. Couldn't ask for better. Praises to Alexis and John, great restaurant!

My wife and I had dinner there last night, 7/16/21. The food was more than delicious. My wife had the great Caesar shrimp salad. My grouper was the best one I've ever eaten anywhere. No hesitation to recommend Hog's Head.

Southern comfort cuisine with a French twist. Lovely decor and friendly staff. Abundant food portions served in oversized plates. Highly recommend the key lime dessert. All around a great dining experience..beyond five 🌟 rating.

Second visit with friends - it was amazing. The mushroom and truffle risotto was complete heaven. The salmon was perfect. When I ordered it well, the server knew enough to suggest that i get it med-rare to avoid overcooking. The dessert was pure perfection. I am in love with this new place! When the chef visited my table, every plate was clean and we were blown away by dessert. One word suggestion - GO!

Amazing service and wonderful recommendations for dinner, challenging my first choice for entree by sharing the specials. Ultimately I enjoyed my evening immensely and wish I had more time in town to visit and eat here again.

That was positively delightful. Simply everything from service, to food, to beverage was exceptional. American strip mall location is unfortunate, but unavoidable these days. Dont let that stop you from a wonderful culinary experience.

I love this place and eat here every time I'm in the area. The jerk chop is fantastic and their greens recipe is out of this world, but really everything I've had in the menu was great — you can't go wrong.

Great food, great drinks, great service. Had the filet mignon and it was perfect. This may now be our favorite restaurant in the area.

The food was exceptional!! They were able to accommodate our party of nine last minute, which was such a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was wonderful, the service was top-notch, and the wine — easily the best I’ve had! We’ll be back!

Went with three friends specifically for their Prime rib only served Friday and Saturdays. Was a terrifically large cut of beef with nice flavor, delicious mashed potatoes with melted cheese and broccolini. The wait staff were appropriately attentive. Will bring my wife very soon. The owner stopped by several times to check on us and had a wonderful time.

As a local restaurant owner, I don’t typically leave reviews, but I feel compelled to make an exception for this place—it truly deserves one. This spot is a hidden gem. The food is not only excellent but exciting; every dish was a delightful experience. The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I’m sad to admit this was my first time visiting, but it definitely won’t be my last. The restaurant itself is clean, with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Excellent from start to finish. We had fried green tomatoes appetizer. Best I’ve ever eaten. Meat loaf main course was exceptional. Seasoned perfectly. Dinner was beyond my expectations. Try this place as you won’t be disappointed!

This restaurant is a complete gem! My daughter does plays at the Bluffton Youth Theater right around the corner so it has become a tradition to get dinner beforehand at Hogshead to celebrate. Plays occur quarterly and every time we go in they remember us and welcome us with open arms. Of course I sneak over for some gorgonzola chips and wine during practices throughout the plays too (ha). My husband loves getting the prime rib special and I have a hard time getting anything other than the Truffle Honey Salmon - it's fantastic! My daughter loves their mac n cheese too. I definitely recommend this spot for a date night or a nice family night out!

Jan 25 - A hidden gem!! My husband and I absolutely loved our dinner here. The hostess was very friendly & accommodating. Our servers were on-point (not overbearing and not unseen - the perfect amount of attentiveness). Our courses were timed perfectly, we did not feel rushed at all. Everything we had was absolutely fantastic - the escargot, the apple goat cheese salad, veal oso bucco, sheepshead fish special! Fine dining cuisine in a casual atmosphere. We've been to "high end" restaurants that were not as delicious or as welcoming as HogsHead. It was a fabulous experience and we can't wait to return!

Lori & I thoroughly enjoyed our 1st dining experience here. It will now become our go-to restaurant every time we visit Hilton Head. Everything was simply outstanding!

Food was pretty good. The steak and short rib were a little dry, it was a little overpriced and it’s very loud in the restaurant but all in all a good experience.

The food is very very good. I highly recommend making a reservation as they fill up quickly. My favorite part of the dining in experience, is watching the cats and racoons. I know it's lame and it's a restaurant but I get so happy to see them outside on the patio. I can't help that I'm a dork who wants to watch day racoons eat kitty food next to the kitty cats. The staff here is wonderfully friendly and very accommodating. I do like the decor as it's very warm and inviting, lots of country feel to it. It's a nice place to relax and enjoy dinner with friends and family.

The menu is fairly limited and overpriced. The service was good but we were not welcomed very enthusiastically. We were the first table at 5:30 booking and appeared to be unexpected. My food was very good, another of our party had a lobster dish which was quite dry. For the price, we probably would not go back. Overall experience was lacking in something.

My wife and I wanted to try something new. We will probably not go back. The food was way over priced for what we got. I could not even eat 1/2 of the prime rib special, it was not a quality cut I had to chew and chew and the knife could barely cut through the stake. No one asked us why we did not want to take our 1/2 eaten food home. We dropped a lot of money and the food was a big disappointment.

First time and very disappointed. We arrived at 6 PM and attempted to order wine. They were out of about 6-7 wines and when ordering from the menu, they were also out of several items there. Not sure how that could happen since they had just opened for dinner. Service was slow although I felt the waiter was doing his best. They seemed to be understaffed. Portions were small for prices. Overall, the food was not impressive. Wouldn’t go again.

Horrible from start to finish food overcooked , and barely hot! Our waitress left after our order taken for a big party no one came back till bus boy wanted to take our plates! Never got amother drink or refill or asked about our food! Overpriced staff everyone terrible! Will never go back!

I rarely leave reviews unless the experience is truly exceptional—or exceptionally bad. This was an exceptionally bad experience: none of the steaks were cooked per requested (and far from fresh), everything was very seasoned, and unbearably salty. To make matters worse, the server and manager did nothing to remedy the situation after we voiced our concerns. Disappointing on all fronts—both in service and in quality. Will be calling Amex and Open Table. It is definitely not worth the price. Sadly, I have to say, try your best to avoid.

Came here for a birthday dinner—huge letdown. NY strip was undercooked and over-seasoned. Tuna was unbearably salty. We told the server and manager, but the manager walked off without a word. No apology, no adjustment on the bill. Staff kept asking if we wanted to box the food—we said no, it was barely touched and thrown out. My wife got food poisoning less than an hour later. Overpriced, poor quality, and even worse service. Save your money and your stomach—go elsewhere.
