Last visited in 2003, what a difference. Food was tremendous. It's a nice upscale restaurant with westside pricing. No longer the dingy dive that wasn't a place you wanted to have a nice meal at, the changes have made this place a gem of the NW parts of the county.
First time going since the remodel. They did a great job updating.. lots of variety for food to eat. What we had was delicious. Can't wait to go back again. Oh the wings were fabulous. Done just right. The staff was attentive and friendly. Great job guys!
Really enjoyed my first ever experience here last night. I was pleasantly surprised by the wine selection as I find it harder and harder to get a good moscato. My friend and I decided to get some food, we both got the Bacon Cheddar Burger. I love my burgers medium rare, I was so happy to actually see some pink when I bit into my burger. I pretty much devoured my burger.
Come to eat here Often always a good experience and they broaden the menu and have added a lot to it and has a good atmosphere especially the all the 55 inch TV's in the bar area. If your looking to sit eat and drink and watch sports this is the place to do it . it has a nice covered dinning area out side also . This one of the cleanest restaurants I ever been In inside and out
I've been here three times now. The service is absolutely delightful. We ordered entrees the first time and it was served with some awesome bread. The other two times it was sandwiches-- Philly cheesesteak and French dip. Again excellent sandwiches.
First time here. Went to see a friend's band playing outside. Really good food, service and music! . Only issue was the smoker standing in front of us. Wish the wind was blowing the opposite direction. 🙄
We eat at the Dakota about twice a month and have been going there for years. In all the years we've gone we've only had one bad experience, it was a Friday night (packed as always) and we had to wait almost 2 hours to be seated. At the time I wasn't very happy but the food and service were excellent as always so worth the wait. The menu offers a bit of everything from pasta to seafood and steak. There's also a bar menu for those who aren't up for a bigger meal and plenty of food choices for the kids. I would definately recommend the Dakota if you want a great meal.
We fell upon this place as we were in the area for a track meet. This place is awesome. Everything about it. The best Prime Rib I have had as well as the New England Clam Chowder. Britany was the absolute best server we have ever had anywhere. Two Thumbs up.
The menu is amazing! My absolute favorite is their Greens and Beans! It isn't always on the menu, but when I ask, they have it. Husband raves about the Haddock French! Have NEVER left disappointed!!!
This place is truly OUTSTANDING. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. Sherry and her staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and relaxed. Friday evenings are really busy, but the food is worth the wait.
Have been here with family and friends and I am so happy these two took over. One of the owners was kind enough to sit down with my mom and I, and have a chat about Buffalo, lol. The chicken french was amazing - best I've had out in a while. Decor was modernized and is now cozy. The bar area is my favorite, looks great. Anyone would be very happy bringing out of towners or friends here. Thinking of having my mothers retirement party here! I've been back and WILL be back again! I'm glad they decided to keep this place alive. Stop in and grab some amazing food and drinks! And with complaints about not having the menu online yet? Come on people. Don't give a business one or two stars based on that. They are just restarting and tweaking the menu. It takes time!
This place is a little crowded and loud in the bar area (because it is, after all, a bar), but we are in the dining room and had a great experience. The food was amazing and SO AFFORDABLE. The service was absolutely outstanding. I wish it didn't smell like fish fry (it was a Friday). We will def be going back!
Bartender Amy is amazing. Liz is great as well :). Don’t usually eat dinner there so I can’t say. Love the blackened chicken salad and the chicken wings as well :)
Been a few months, but still great food. Only sour note was waited almost 15 minutes after being seated just for someone to come to the table and almost 20 minutes to have the drinks at the table. But to be fair, after that, we were well taken care of so no big deal, not a normal thing there. I had the lobster bisque and the bacon pesto chicken sandwich. Sandwich was very good, I like the garlic aoli, and lobster bisque is absolutely one of the best ones around. My wife had the stuffed shells and they were very good as well. We will certainly be back.
First time there for us. The service was amazing! They do have sufficient staff, and it seems they all work well together, which makes a pleasant atmosphere. The food was GREAT! We had the lemon-pepper broiled Haddock, served hot and not overdone.
Great food and service all around good place
Such a hidden gem. Fresh and aromatic dishes were expertly prepared. Prices are cheaper than you'd expect, and the service is enthusiastic. Will definitely return.
I wish I could reminder the name of the gentleman behind the bar that also served us at a high top in the bar area last night. He was very personable and described the entrees for us and helped make our dining experience a good one. Our drinks and food came out in a timely manner and both of our meals were delicious.
This low key Bar and Grill offers large portions of quite tasty fare. I was impressed with the selection and quality of the food. There were unique dishes I havent seen elsewhere as well as fine steaks, seafood and pasta. The service was friendly, the bar was stocked with standards and craft beer from local breweries. I will be back for more.
A high quality restaurant! Separate bar and dining areas, and the dining area was incredibly intricately decorated. It was a very fascinating and entertaining room. The atmosphere was overall wonderful. Only downside was a few flies, but this is understandable in late summer. The service was delightful and speedy, as well as reasonable prices on spectacular dishes. I ordered the Chicken French over spaghetti. The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned wonderfully. The noodles were cooked well and the portion was VERY filling. 10/10 recommend!!!
I havent been in since the remodel, the decor is welcoming and clean it gives a sleek but comfortable feeling. The food is amazing! I had a battered fish fry as it is ash Wednesday and It was the best fish fry I have had in a long time. French onion soup is great too as it is not too salty and doesnt taste like canned beef bullion. Our waitress Amber was very attentive, funny and right on the ball. It was steady for an afternoon yet service was stellar food came out quickly. An absolute must for lunch or dinner! Great job to the new owners!
4.5 stars ~ GREAT place I called them today LAST MINUTE for a party of 16-18 and they pushed tables together for us and let us bring a birthday cake in. The hospitality here today really was a 10/10. I’m thankful the Dakota had the room for us and treated us like family or something. The chef even came out and said hello. Food Id give a 4/5 but again the hospitality/service and atmosphere here is the best. Photo of my boyfriend opening presents for his birthday lol.
Great bar/restaurant, has lots of great food options and is a great place in a small town. If your visiting the area, or live here and haven't gone here you must!
Food and service are excellent. But they need to figure out why the trivia doesn’t work in the dining room. We brought our family to play and couldn’t because the tv in the dining room didn’t work for trivia. It’s not the first time this has happened
The food was delicious & our server was very pleasant & attentive. I got the filet mignon special and my husband got the ribeye special. Both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor..tender & juicy. We'll definitely be back for more.
They really did a good job putting this place back together. Steak dinner special was cooked right and portioned well. Service was great. Atmosphere was good. Heated enclosed porch area is awesome. No reason not to come back here more often!
The new updated Dakota Grill is a definite recommendation! It was busy, so service was a little slow, but like I said it was a busy Saturday night. The food was delicious, literally tried all four of the dishes ordered at our table and every single dish was delicious!!! The staff was all super friendly, the drinks were great, all around a great place. I had never been to the "before" edition of this place, but will definitely be going back to the updated edition! Plus this sounds crazy but even the bathrooms are cool in this place lol
Nice sports bar-ish place on the west side with great food and cold beer. Nice outdoor seating for nice days. Great daily specials too.
We enjoyed a wildly pleasing dinner! The staff is friendly, professional, and they took great care of our needs! Tiffany is a very knowledgeable friendly server! Thank you for making our experience pleasant and enjoyable. You have an amazing kitchen staff...the food was delicious and more than we could eat in a sitting. Thank you very much...We Will be returning and posting across our networks to give you a try!
We love the Dakota! We enjoy sitting at the bar OR the dining room! We go wherever there is space, and we are always taken care of. The food is great and the prices are always shockingly low when we get our tab. The male bartender (cannot remember his name) is especially impressive! He seems to keep the bar running well, especially when they are busy.
Just went in for drinks but the service was great and a great atmosphere!
Food is very good and they have good specials. Owner personally comes around and make sure that everything is right. Very good local restaurant.
Always a great time and great food! What makes it better is the service. Always kind and smiling, which adds to the atmosphere. Our server HAYLEE was the best! Food came out at the same time, hot and tasty with a smile.
We called last minute today for a Birthday Party with 16-18 people. The staff was very accommodating and happy to have us! They had all the tables together, and greeted us all with a smile. The Chef even came out to see us more than once, and was very nice! Our waitress was awesome and very attentive. The food was very good, everyone had a wonderful time. They even let us bring in 2 birthday cakes. We had a great experience and can't wait to come back!
Ryan is one of many servers here that is just simply put one of the best!!!
Came in for dinner last weekend, it was fairly busy but we were seated quickly. I have a toddler and he was being slightly impatient and the hostess, a dark haired girl, was an absolute GODSEND. She kept my son occupied while we waited and she was so good with him. Once seated, our waitress was great and the food was delicious! Highly recommend
We have been going to the Dakota for about a year now! We have NEVER had bad service. The staff at the Dakota is amazing and fun! We have gotten to know the staff and they are all so sweet, you can tell they all like their job which is unheard of in the restaurant industry!Amy is the main full time bartender, she makes her mission to remember your drink and what you like to eat! Her multi tasking skills are like no one I’ve ever encountered. One of the owners named Joe is always on hand to help out and talk with the customers! If you want to have great food in an amazing atmosphere and be served by staff that really cares, please try out the Dakota!
The food was excellent. The people I dined with had each been there before and we all agreed we had great meals there each time.
Great place with amazing food. Super clean and fun environment!! Staff was a joy to interact with. We had steaks that were cooked to perfection with such flavor. Also had an eggplant parmesan stuffed with fresh spinach and ricotta cheese which was hat off amazing! Our waitress even put the homemade whip cream in a small container with my dessert which was a lemon blueberry cheese cake. So moist and yummy. Great lil gem The Dakota. Enjoy
We visited The Dakota, Saturday, 12/20/25. We had Marijane as our server. The atmosphere was pleasant and a nice relief after finishing up holiday shopping. We were greeted with a pleasant server who was on point from start to finish. Our food was wonderful, from time, temperature to taste! The entire experience was excellent and will be returning. I highly recommend The Dakota and request Marijane if possible. Although reservations were not required, I suggest them as it got quite busy.
The serve was awesome! It was a very cozy ambiance on a cold evening. The prices were not bad.
Always great at Dakota! Even when there's a wait for the dining room, you can grab a nice mixed drink or glass of bourbon... they have a great selection!
Never once have we had a bad experience while dining here!! Been stopping periodically for years and always a great time with the best food!!
We had my sister’s home going party here! The staff were so accommodating for us and they have an extra party room, not too many know about. We originally started out with pizza and wings and sodas and they were so sweet when my 90 year-old father wanted some coffee. We will definitely consider them for our next party!
Met my girlfriend there and we both had the Chicken Dakota with your choice of pasta. It was as good as the Haddock Dakota (which is my favorite), but they only serve that on Friday nights. Our servicer was polite and attentive. They have trivia at the bar every Wednesday nights.
Last Friday was very busy however our waitress Kristin made us feel like we were the only ones there, she didn't rush us and recommended the chicken riggies which I ordered and loved! It was our first time and the kids actually finished their plates! we will be back for her and the food!
We, as family of 4, come here for our first time. It was a wonderful place with great food and service! Only thing about this place was how compacted the spaces are, while there's plenty of seatings. They are pretty close to each other, squeezing out every inch of space. When it was packed, it might feel uncomfortable for some (I was good with it, although). But the waitress we had was really friendly and did a great job serving us. The food was amazing! Worth the price! I see that bar area have multi TVs making it a lnnideal spot to watch football on Saturdays and Sundays, wish there's more TVs in dining area. 😁
It’s been a while since I’ve been here and the changes are such an improvement. It still feels like a comfortable neighborhood bar but nicer. I ordered the club and it was so packed with turkey and bacon the sandwich was a few inches thick. My companion had a Philly steak and shared some potato skins with the third diner. Both said they were very good. The service was good and I have a dairy allergy and felt I was heard.
Went here for the first time. I was extremely surprised ! The food here was awesome. I've had Gnocchi everywhere and was expecting the same thing. No way. This meal didn't have red sauce. It had the best tasting chopped tomatoes with olives, sweet peppers, onions, peas and more and the seasoning was delicious. The chef is excellent. Must go back again and try others. It's fantastic. Go there!
Went on Sunday dinner time with a group of 6 adults. We each got something different and started with appetizers. Everyone like what they got. Two of us had the squash medley for our side and we loved it!! Portions were generous, the only complaint was said 12.00 for a burger and ff was too much. It was clean as well. Think we would go again. If in the area.
The Dakota is always busy but I'd bet it's typically always the same group of patrons. It's definitely a homey-type bar and grill. The decor and the place itself is extremely dated and it's evident by the floors moving when somebody walks by. With that being said, in my several visits the food is always good, the beer is always cold, and the people are always friendly. Know what you're going in to before and I'm sure you'll have a great time whether at the bar or for a bite to eat.
Remodeled and updated. Huge improvement in quality of food. I had the French dip, was very good. My friend had the fish fry, she thoroughly enjoyed! I would recommend taking the drive as it is not close to the city.
Bigger entree selection than I anticipated. Our server was very attentive and the dining area is spaced out well, so it was easy to have a conversation with our friends. Portion size was very healthy--we all took home leftovers. Will def go again!
My group normally goes to The Dakota after afternoon golf. We normally order wings or burgers. We do not order any entries. We’ve had all the bar food and everything is very good. We always have the same server who's smile and friendliness make it a better experience. We normally eat on the patio and tell lies about how good our game is.
Nice place Looked very clean Fish fry was really good!
Had mahi taco which was good and large portions. Another had cheeseburger and fries but the burger was well done on a medium rare request. Ravioli and meatballs special was excellent portions and raviolis were good and huge but salad was poor. Meatball sub was huge BUT meatballs had way to much bread crumbs or filler. Chicken wings were done nicely but blue cheese was too small portions. Onion rings were very good.
The food was decent the waitress that's great we went on a Sunday pretty much dead no customer . Enjoy the quiet compared to Texas Roadhouse.
Staff very attentive and friendly , service was little slow at first but it was prime time dinner time so it was expected. Absolutely no complaints about service or the staff. I will be completely honest I was disappointed with the bang bang shrimp - very small shrimp. Barley any sauce and no garnish of green onion: despite this the shrimp was good. Clams casino was very tasty, would order again My husband ordered lobster stuffed fish. The lobster stuffing was very salty. He scraped off the fish. Just putting it out there for improvement. The Cajun shrimp Mac and cheese was absolutely delicious!! I highly recommend. One of the best I have had! Overall I would recommend eating here -great atmosphere , great service and the food is good.
Went for Burger night. Burger and fries were delicious. Felt a bit crowded due to small dining area and it was busy.
We've been planning to eat here for some time after reading the reviews and being told by friends how good the food is, but we'd heard that it's always crowded for dinner. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that we finally had a good opportunity to stop for dinner on our way home one Saturday afternoon. We arrived early, a little after 4 PM, so parking wasn't a problem. The restaurant was not very busy then, so there was plenty of empty booths and tables available. We were seated immediately and provided with menus. After 10 minutes of reading the menu, our server came by and took our orders. We both ordered a half-pound Dakota burger (cooked medium) with an order of sweet fries and beverages. Our food was served up hot less than 20 minutes later. Our burgers were both cooked to a perfect "medium" and were simply amazing. Two of THE best burgers we've ever eaten. The sweet fries were crispy and delicious. Our server, Sheila, was friendly, attentive, and very engaging throughout the entire meal. Excellent service. The atmosphere was pleasant and not very noisy at the time we visited. The menu offers a variety of different dishes, although the menu prices at the time of this review might be a limiting factor for some budgets. Our bill for the two meals totaled a bit under $40 plus tax. Overall, our excellent experience here is a good reason for us to return, with the only downside being the prices. Enjoy, and thanks for reading.
Very friendly staff and a clean restaurant. Food is decent, portions are generous. Bread comes as a snack while you wait for food and it is DELICIOUS! My fiancé loved his chicken French. I liked my chicken parm, but the sauce had a kick I'm not used to. Would probably consider something else instead next time. The urinal was a funny highlight for me.
Used to be the spot to go for a really nice meal and a drink.... last time we were there it was 100.00 bill for 3 of us. 2 adult beverages and 3 meals. They have upgraded the interior but I feel the food wasn't as good as it used to be. Maybe due to covid, but I can cook a better steak at home with all the trimmings for less than 21.00.
As the fries were good , the burger didnt taste right , and I thought that paying 75 cent for a side of gravy was crazy as well. I understand paying for blue cheese dressing but gravy . I've never played for gravy anywhere. But I do like the renovation ,looks fantastic in there
They've done a great job redecorating this place. Looks terrific. Went there for lunch with a friend after receiving high recommendations. The service was good, the food was alright. I'll go again, but for dinner next time, and raise the rating if I'm more impressed with the food.
Dear Manager, help me understand your math. My wife ordered a special (filet) which comes with 2 sides. Sides in the menu are valued at $3. She asked if she could get side salad as a side, they are also $3.00 on the menu. Tell me why getting a side salad as a “side” is a $1 up charge. You made my wife grumpy for $1…. The waitress couldn’t explain why. Wouldn’t it be better to just not argue about a dollar. Are the sides with a meal just a $2 portion?
Not the greatest if you are going with a large group. They have the space for it but unfortunately the food and service suffered. Food that I had was served cold, clearly the timing of dish completion was not handled well for the larger group.
I was surprised to find out that the gift card I had was invalid because the previous owner had not factored gift cards into the sale of the restaurant. Shortly after I purchased the gift card I moved to Florida and come back to NY to visit family. The service was good however my meal ( a breaded fish fry) was over cooked, dark, and very crunchy. No amount of lemons improved the taste and texture. My wife's beer battered fish was more appealing in the sight and taste department. The jury is still out whether I will revisit Dakota in the future. Thank you for the opportunity to review your establishment.
We wrote this place off for over 2 years because they boiled their chicken wings. I insisted we try going again and we were pleasantly surprised wings were not boiled and they were good. Also, ordered chicken lemon for take out and it was good.
Went for Friday night fish fry. It was a busy night but got seated fairly quickly. Ordered two beer battered fish fry dinners, and they came out within 6-7 minutes (incredibly fast on a busy night!). However, the fish fry was cold and still raw inside. It obviously was not cooked long enough. The fries were piping hot and that was the only thing that we could eat until we could bring our fish fry home to cook the rest of the way. This is in no way the servers fault as I have been in that position myself. The server offered to bring it back and see if she could refund but I didn’t find that necessary especially with it being as busy as it was, and I would rather finish cooking it at home. Even though the fish is a light golden brown does not mean it’s cooked all the way. When the side comes out piping hot and the main course comes out cold, there’s obviously a problem there. I want to support this local establishment but every visit has been subpar.
We decided to try the Dakota on a Friday night (with reservations of course) for Fish Fry. Upon arriving, we were seated outside which was nice and away from everyone. We waited a few minutes before having a server come over quickly and realize no one had waited on us yet. As we had asked what was available for drinks (as there is no drink menu apparently, there needs to be one.) the waitress said all of the draft beers offered within seconds without giving any specifics and practically rushing us to order. I decided to try an Oktoberfest (don’t know who makes it?) I got the beer and only took a sip before setting it aside. It was beyond flat and honestly disgusting. I didn’t dare ask for the draft menu again as it seemed to be an inconvenience so I stuck with a typical cocktail. Thank goodness that was better than the beer! We ordered an appetizer, and within a few minutes of us getting it, our food was already on its way out while we were still eating. Our fish fry’s were okay, we have had worse. I feel like we were being rushed our entire visit. Even with our reservations we were hoping everything would be great but sadly it was not. Lastly, the fact that patrons can walk freely throughout the whole restaurant with no masks on is another reason why we will not be back. There needs to be some significant improvements in staffing, offering drink menus, etc.
This place was recommended to us for great food as we are new in town. We went early,5pm. Service was not great, the waitress had better things to do I guess. So I was really looking forward to the food. Swing and a miss there too. Two fish fries the oil was way too hot in the kitchen, must have some pretty inexperienced staff in there as noted by the wait staff hovering for orders. So almost burnt beer batter on overcooked haddock, not a pleasant experience. Hamburger for my daughter was hockey puck with unmelted cheese, the steak salad ordered with " medium steak" came out of a warm kitchen is about the only heat that meat saw. The ambiance was awesome, lots of old antique signs and memorabilia and the people were lined up waiting to get in, I do hope the kitchen gets their act together. I always give the benefit of the doubt, so will try another day maybe not a prime dining night and this will ease some of the stress off the staff maybe ?
Place looks fantastic. Love the bar area! Service good but slow. The food is expensive, and you only get small portions. Food was just mediocre. I was so excited to try the new Dakota, but was underwhelmed. I would definitely go back to have drinks at the bar, but I wouldn't go back for dinner with a group of friends.
Food was good but I don’t understand why I have to “sit at the bar” for happy hour to apply. My family and I (having just moved here) ordered a lot of food and drinks thinking we’d be part of happy hour and were not despite sitting in the bar (there’s no sign). PS — they might wanna remove the “Trump 2020” fake money behind the bar. It might put off some folks. 🤷♂️ ✌️
The food was average to bad. My boneless chicken bits were dry and over cooked, the bisque used "fake' chewy lobster and my wife's french onion soup had too much bread which absorbed all the liquid. Certainly not the quality from a few years ago. New owners or chief? We will not be returning any time soon.
My post in no way reflects the restaurants food/service. It’s just to raise awareness that although they’re listed as being handicapped accessible, that is not true for all people with IDD. I’ve contemplated on making this review, but believe this is an important issue that needs awareness. Not only this restaurant but other public locations in our community. My coworker and I came here for lunch on February 5th with the individuals we serve. I checked online to ensure they’re handicap accessible, which shows they are. I unload the person I serve who is in an electric wheelchair and we go up the beautiful ramp they have here leading to the door, only to find a very high lip at the entrance. Unfortunately most electric wheelchairs would not be able to get over that threshold. My coworker went inside to ask if their door that is accessible, could be opened, but she was told no. This resulted in having to load our individuals back into our van and finding somewhere else to eat. By no means am I bashing this restaurant. I truly believe most people are not aware of the difficulties someone with IDD face especially those who have limited mobility, when it comes to being out in the community.
I ordered take out. The food was ready for pickup when I arrived but there was no organization at the entry way. Workers passed by but paid no attention, others came in and out of the kitchen. A full 10 minutes of waiting for food that was cooked and waiting for me ment cold food.
Went on Valentine's Day, we saw the limited Valentine's menu prior to making the reservations ,we were fine with it had selections that we would enjoy. Tried to get 6:30 reservations but was told they were booked at that time so we took 7 pm. Got there dinning room was empty, bar had many snowmobilers. When we were going to be seated the Hostess made us aware of the limited menu and said many people left because they were not aware of the menu being limited. Our waitress comes to the table tells us FYI there was no lobster, ( which was included in 2 -3 ofselections on the menu. I asked about the lobster newburg, she said that was also not available. that left just a few selections. I ordered the eggplant roll ups, they were terrible ,food was cold and the eggplant was tuff, they were very small and I received 5 of them. They charged $22 for crap!!Another person in our party ordered the chicken parm, the pasta and sauce was cold, chicken was ok. You could see if they were very busy trying to rush things out for the customers, but that was not the case! If you have a limited menu, you should make sure you have enough of everything to cover the reservations that were made for the evening. Very disappointed, talked with other customers who all felt the same way we did. Dakota is going down hill
Our waitress was very personable, sweet, and accommodating, but the food was terrible!! My husbands chicken was practically raw, I'm surprised he didn't get sick, and my food was burnt. Maybe it was just an off night because we have had good food in the past but as of right now we have no intentions of going back.
Not a great first impression. The staff was generally friendly. Service was on the slow side. My child's burger came cold and hard/overcooked making it unedible. The batter on the fish was over-fried and the fish was mush. Steak salad ordered medium was very raw and fatty. The fries and salad were pretty good. Large menu to choose from, and ambiance was fun and enjoyable. This place has great reviews previously so I will most likely give them the benifit of the doubt and try again another day.
There was only 1 waitress, there were quite a few people there. It took 40 minutes to get our food. Waitress never came back to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. It use to be a great place to go to. Don't think we will be back. The experience was awful.
First time at The Dakota since the remodel and my option of The Dakota has changed. The food use to be amazing. We ordered Chicken french. Our disappointment was at first sight of the dish. I understand the need to put a new twist on these recipes. Sometimes it can be a hit. But The Chicken french was to far off the regular recipe for our liking. But The bar was full on a Sunday evening. I think we'll try just going for drinks next time.
Service was great the food was horrible, they just can't get a good chef, I ordered chicken Dakota it was some sort of sauce with pasta ( extremely watery very flat ) it was more like chicken soup with pasta ,and chicken breast on top . My husband's prime rib was very chewey we have given this restaurant many chances different chefs its a till a no go . Joe and Tim pay the money for a great chef it makes a world of difference!!!! Go out to do the restaurants downtown and Eastside , you'll notice a major difference, and do not serve Italian food if you don't know how to properly prepare it!!! Sorry
Cheap cold french fries. The thinest piece of chicken I have ever seen on a sandwich. I ordered cheddar on sandwich and they gave me american also no pesto on it and they put it on. You cannot get hot sauce on sandwich so they can charge you for it. $1.50 . This is overpriced cheap food. Improperly cooked bacon. Terrible service. A bunch of young teenage girls probably so they can pay them cheap that do not know how to service patrons. When we brought our concerns to thier attention they made no concessions. Talk about cheap you know what. NEVER AGAIN!!!
I emailed the Dakota 2 weeks ago and never received a response. I even explained in the email that I did not want to rush to a negative review. My email to them that went unanswered: "I contemplated writing google and yelp reviews based on my experiences at your restaurant/bar but before I do, I feel the professional thing to do is to share them with you first. As a business owner myself, I am very aware that things happen from time to time and that no business is perfect. Additionally, I realize there are unethical competitors out there who will write fake/false reviews to make a company look bad. With that said, I have to tell you that I am beyond disappointed with your place on several levels. These are my last 3 visits to Dakota; My wife, myself, and another couple met at Dakota for a few drinks and something to eat. We sat in the bar area at a table that felt like it was going to tip over and it was never made clear that we needed to wait for a server. I decided to go to the bar and ask the bartender if I could order drinks. She was not overly friendly (pretty much 95% of the job requirement) and told me we had to wait for a server. We did and eventually, a server who was working both the dining area and the bar made her way to us. We ordered drinks and did not see the server for a very long time. My friend went up to the bar to get another round and was met with a bit of hostility from the bartender who said we were supposed to order from the server. He explained she did not come back so the bartender very reluctantly let us buy drinks (yes, you read that correctly, we wanted to give you money). We wanted to order food and my friend and I flipped a coin to see who had to ask the bartender because neither of us wanted to. I lost the coin flip and asked the bartender who got mad and left to find the server. At this point, the server was bitter too and took our order like we were bothering her. We ordered pizzas, ate them (they were ok) and left to go to another place. -------- Some time went by and I chalked up that bad experience as an isolated incident and returned to the Dakota a few weeks later with my wife. We sat in the bar area again and ignored as all the attention was on what appeared to be a "regulars" sitting at the bar. With no server around I rolled the dice and waited for the bartender to stop talking to the regulars so I could order drinks. This time it was "ok" to order from the bartender and not wait for a server (keeping us guessing and uncomfortable). We ordered a salad and a couple of appetizers all of which were thrown together as fast as possible and were well below average in taste and quality. We both agreed this was our last trip to Dakota. --------- On to my 3rd experience which was yesterday (7/20). I convinced my wife to give Dakota one more try, this time we would eat in the dining area and it would be better. My wife, me, and my son showed up and the hostess asked if we had reservations. We said no and she continued to look at her book and finally said "ok come with me". We expected to see a full house based on what and how she said it and upon entering the dining area, there was a total of 6 people. ????????? Regardless, we sat and the waitress, a very pleasant younger female took our drink orders and told us about the specials. She came back and took our food orders; Apps: Sicilian Arancini: it was fine, nothing to tell your friends about but nothing to complain about. Coconut Shrimp: terrible. frozen product dumped in the fryer and served with cocktail sauce? who serves cocktail sauce with coconut shrimp? A simple mango based sauce is what should be served with it. Entrees: Wife: Filet with baked potato and broccoli: rubbery filet, dry, overcooked potato, unseasoned broccoli (2 tiny pieces) Son: Dakota Burger w/Fries: soggy, messy, fair at best. Me: NY Strip, salad, broccoli: The steak was inedible, extremely tough, very difficult to cut, not seasoned, thin, and everything you do not want a steak to be. Unseasoned broccoli (2 tiny pieces). Over $150 with tip!
Service was horrible. Took 20 minutes to order drinks. Never checked on how our food was. Finished eating and waited 15 minutes for a server to come to get the bill. Heard good things but bad experience all around.
I stopped in for the first time. I got wings and nachos. The chicken wing quality was one of the worst I’ve had. Once you got to the meat on the inside it had a VERY off taste tasting almost identical to the inside of a kfc piece of bone in chicken. Both of the items due to the quality my fiancé and I had trouble to finish. To make it worst later that night I got sick, severe stomach pains nausea and a fever ! Unfortunately had to cancel my day at work the next day. This place has a very nice ambiance and with a new chef and better food quality ordered I think on that side of things it can be salvaged.
The fish fry was so over cooked it was almost black and so hard you couldn’t chew it. Chicken Parmesan didn’t have any flavor
Rude employees and the food is just okay. Wouldn’t recommend
I was charged $50 for a meal consisting of pasta with sauce, potatoes, vegetables, and a side of bread. When I called to inquire about the charge, I was told they billed me for the closest menu item, which happened to be a meat lover’s pasta dish, simply because I requested pasta with sauce. Charging me for a completely different dish is unacceptable. This place is overpriced and untrustworthy. Avoid it at all costs!
Went to try the prime rib wasn't told where out til ordering ended up getting a delmonico that ended up being the queen cut prime rib made in to a steak to charge me more charged 1 dollar for gravy on mashed potatoes only vegetable was Brussel sprouts which were both cold got replaced waiter said was hot then said well the plates hot I'm not eating a plate lol. then was atacked by a drunk bald guy at bar while leaving Should all be 0 stars but no option for that. It wasn't even 8 yet and all I ate was the steak sent the potatoes with gravy and Brussel sprouts back told them to take off the gravy charge and I did pay would you like to see the receipt and the dash cam footage of the abuse I received at the door.
