⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Incredible Service from José Luis at Escalante’s! I cannot say enough amazing things about José Luis! From the moment we sat down, he was warm, kind, and truly attentive in a way that you just don’t experience often anymore. He anticipated everything we needed before we even had to ask, checked in at the perfect times, and made us feel genuinely taken care of the entire visit. His energy is positive, welcoming, and so sincere. You can tell he takes real pride in what he does—every recommendation was spot-on, every drink was perfect, and he handled everything with such professionalism and ease. It honestly felt like we were being looked after by a friend who wanted us to have the best experience possible. José Luis is the kind of bartender/server who elevates the whole dining experience. Escalante’s is lucky to have him, and we will absolutely be returning because of the outstanding service he provided. If you go, ask for him—you’ll thank me later!

We had an outstanding experience thanks to our waiter.(Jose Luìs) He was extremely attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and maintained a perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. Drinks were refilled without asking, food arrived promptly, and he anticipated what we needed before we even said it. His service truly elevated the meal and made the evening memorable. Quesadillas: Now extra cheesy, with gooey melted cheese binding the tender beef together. Without the spinach, it leans more toward rich and indulgent, with no earthy or slightly bitter notes — just savory beef and creamy cheese in every bite. Sides (Guacamole, Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream): These remain perfect companions. The fresh pico and creamy guac will cut through the richness of the cheese-heavy quesadillas, while the sour cream keeps things smooth and tangy.

Excellent service by Luis who attended our table. The music playlist was excellent, and the brunch menu was very enticing. We had steak&eggs and birria hash, both excellent. I’ve yet to see a tex-mex restaurant in Houston with a better brunch menu. We’ll be coming back to see Luis, as he recommended the enchiladas Suizas, which are my favorite.

Wow, what an incredible experience! My wife and I were lucky enough to be served by Rodrigo, and let me tell you, he was fantastic! We indulged in a stunning red fish dinner that blew us away! The happy hour was just excellent, and we couldn't get enough of it! And oh my goodness, the tres leches dessert was absolutely divine—truly a perfect way to end our meal! We are still buzzing from how amazing everything was!

I absolutely love this place! I’m from El Paso, west Texas, which borders Mexico and finding a place with authentic Mexican flavors is amazing! The atmosphere is above your typical Mexican restaurant as it’s addressed with service above superb. The workers are all bilingual and extremely hospitable. I’ve been to pricier restaurants that don’t treat you like you’re on a reserve list, but Escalante’s? Above five stars, I don’t understand how it’s never overwhelmed with customers. The service, food and price are far beyond what I’d expect from a mex-Tex restaurant!

I went for Happy Hour which is 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm which doesn't really give you much time after work to enjoy it. I ordered the queso and steak nachos. Both were really good! I appreciate any restaurant where the cheese is white and not yellow. The service was great at the bar. They offered suggestions and were very attentive. I had two margaritas and they were just okay, not a drink I'd have to have again which you would actually want. If I had another one I'd pay to add liquor.

First time trying this establishment, and overall it was a pleasant experience. While the food was a bit light on seasoning, all of the vegetables were extremely fresh, and the tortillas were clearly homemade. It felt intentional almost as if they wanted guests to truly taste the freshness of the ingredients, which I could definitely appreciate. On my way to lunch, I started reading reviews to get an idea of what to order and came across one that mentioned a bartender recommending the spinach enchilada with mushrooms, topped with roasted corn sauce, and adding steak. That combination was completely out of my comfort zone, but I decided to give it a try and ordered a side of red sauce as well. I’m so glad I did, this dish was absolutely delicious. It was fresh, well-balanced, and truly exceptional. I would definitely order this entrée again on my next visit. We also tried the sampler to get a feel for multiple menu items, which was a great way to explore their offerings. For drinks, we had the house margaritas with a Grand Marnier floater, so good 😋. To top it all off, our waiter, Elmer P., was amazing. He was very attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. His service really enhanced the overall experience. My only complaint was that the carpet needs to be shampooed. Soon as you walk in you can smell the oder. Other than that everything else looked clean. I didn't utilize the restroom so not sure of its cleanliness.

It’s been a long time since I have been to Escalante’s and today was a treat! Our drinks were fantastic and the food was very flavorful. Our server, Roger, was attentive and made sure we had our fill of everything we needed! Paloma mimosa from the brunch menu was great, as were the spinach and mushroom enchiladas.
