I finally tried Ethiopian food and was not disappointed. The hostess was very welcoming and helpful when we ordered. We started off with Sambusa, Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus and Spicy Red Chilli Wings. I tried the Yedoro Wot very delicious but did have to order a Mango Juice to help with the spicyness, my daughter ordered the Shiro and my friend ordered the Chicken Tibs. The food came with a salad, rice and injera. The owner came out to see how we liked the food. So glad I watched a tik tok video about this place because he was so correct about how good the food was.
We were here for lunch. The waitress at first was long, but our poor waitress seems to be the only one working. Despite that, she was very kind and helpful. We ordered 4 meats (lamb gigiro tibs, awazi tibs, kay wot, Alitcha wot) and 4 vegetables (cabbage, Shiro and gomen wot). They were all very cravable and tasty dishes. We will definitely visit again. The owner was also very friendly and gracious.
I just had an exceptional lunch here with a group of friends. None of us had been here before and I were greeted warmly. We first had the garlic and honey tea which was delicious. Then everyone had a taste of all different options. Every single person enjoyed their meal and not one bad thing was said. Even the salad was good. As a special treat, our hostess Melano, gave us a demonstration of how she makes coffee for all her customer’s from coffeee beans cooked over an open fire in a pan. She then gave us all samples poured from a beautiful coffee pot into espresso cups. Delicious. What an amazing experience. She was a gracious hostess as well as making sure to take into account everyone’s taste level. I highly recommend coming in for this wonderful food and great experience. I’d definitely come back. Thank you.
Lucy’s is seriously so good. The family who owns it is the sweetest and makes you feel so welcome. We sat in the back lounge area and it’s super cozy and feels authentic, like you’re hanging out at someone’s home. I had the sizzling beef dish and it was incredible. The curry chicken was also great. But the highlight was the traditional coffee service. They roasted the beans right there in front of us and it smelled unbelievable. Such a cool experience! Definitely one of my favorite spots now. Can’t wait to go back.
I just found another reason to be thankful that I’m on this side of town for work a lot. This was everything you could ever want in a dining experience and I can’t wait to come back with coworkers and everyone I know. Everyone in the restaurant was so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is clean and pretty and the woman who took my order saw me stare at the menu for awhile just asked me what I liked and came out with a perfect a dish. The food is fresh, perfectly seasoned and the portions are large! So happy to find this place!
This place was such a vibe! It’s so moody and cozy! They had some really good music going and the ambiance was very nice. I had the chicken tibs. This was my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and I must say it was absolutely delicious. Very flavorful fragrant spices. I am excited to get back and try my next new dish!
Food was delicious, decorative atmosphere and staff were very warm and welcoming! Never felt rushed, conversations with service were great. We ordered so much food, and ate it all couldn’t even take a picture. Definitely will be returning!!
Went in for the first time and was greeted with the best hospitality. The service was amazing! We had a waitress named Rosa. She was very helpful with picking options since it was food we had never tried before. You can tell the food is made from scratch. We tried a few different things to get a variety and even got to try their tea and coffee, which were both very good! My wife got the lamb awaze tibs, my kids got the juicy chicken tibs, and my mom got beef girgiro tibs & I got the meat and veggie platter. Everything was amazing!
This place is amazing it's so wholesome and the staff is just like family. I walked into this area over 4 years ago and I fell in love. Thank you Lucy for always reminding of how beautiful we are and for the great honey wine. I'll see you guys again soon!!
Very good food had the spicy lamb tibs, first question I asked is what they recommended as I do at most restaurants and took the advice and ran with it. Was not disappointed, I had it made spicy as I love spicy food (if spicy is not for you go for non spicy). Also tried the sampler and everything was made very flavorful. Definitely will be going back as I forgot to try the honey wine I was told about.
I ate at Lucy’s 5 stars is not enough to rate them I give them a 10 star rating for excellent service food and attention to detail
Food is top notch very great for people who want to eat different culture food. Servers did a wonderful job at being Intentive and making us feel welcome. Highly recommended coming to grips dinner or lunch here
Wow, what foo,d flavors and service! Took our work team over to Lucy's and had a great time. Many of them had no exposure to Ethiopian food before and were blown away. Milano was our server and made everything very easy including tasty coffee at the end of the meal. We will return!

The food was good and I was satisfied. The atmosphere is so amazing to the point you could get lost in time just enjoying the ambiance! And last but not least, the service was superb, which consisted of smiles, patience, and explanation of the menu. If you are in the Houston area, then I definitely recommend you come here and experience this for yourself!
First time eating Ethiopian food and I loved it. They make this bread thing out of Teff grain. It’s the best gluten free food I’ve ever had. Taste like sourdough. I enjoyed the ambience, the service, and mostly the flavor of the food. I’m looking forward to my next visit. Just ask for the most popular order. That’s what we did, great appetizer and awesome entree. The thing rolled out is the bread. Soft texture to it. I actually ordered some to go. Sambusa! Was the appetizer.
It was my first time experiencing Lucy's Ethiopian cuisine, and I was delightfully surprised by the exceptional quality of the food and the warm hospitality. The hostess offered a welcoming and helpful hand as we placed our order. We began with the eggplant dip and chicken wings; I highly recommend the eggplant dip. For my main course, I selected the grilled chicken Tibs, which was served with a salad and rice. My companion chose the Cottel, also accompanied by a salad and rice. The two waitresses were kind and provided attentive service. The owner even joined us to inquire about our dining experience, sharing some background about the restaurant and her origins. She also kindly invited us to have our photos taken in traditional clothing. We felt truly honored and well-cared for.
All I can say is wow. I am so grateful for the opportunity to try food from a new culture to me. Everything was delicious! The teas and tej are a MUST try - 5/5 If it’s your first time, I suggest the Gomen Watt - another 5/5! Other delicious dishes I tried include: Rice - 5/5 Lamb TIBS - 5/5 Salad (very fresh AND green veggies) - 5/5 Injera - 5/5 To top it off, the owner Suzani was so welcoming and kind. She checked on us and treated me like royalty. I loved the uniqueness of the restaurant. Beautiful decorations, friendly staff, and it was a very relaxing and quiet time of the day to enjoy my meal with a loved one. HIGHLY recommended. I will be back!

My partner and I shared the vegetarian sampler plate which came with 8 different small portions of Ethiopian delights. The food was less seasoned than we thought it would be, but it was still really delicious and a great value @ $25.99 for this platter to share. It was a super fun experience trying Ethiopian cuisine for the first time and our server was so kind.
I have been going here for years and the food is always good, as well as the service. The fried fish and veggie sampler were both very delicious! The only thing is on the menu online and in person it says the price is $19.99 for the fish, and when my receipt came it showed $25. The waitress said the price went up. That is fine, but they need to update the menu to reflect the price change. That was my only issue.
Nice place to be. Had a good time to spend with friends. Nice sitting areas. They take time for your order because they make fresh food. We had vegetarian options. Pretty much enough platter for 2 people. Kids had a great time as well. Colorful but little old interior. Overall it was good. Lucy’s was my first taste of Ethiopian cuisine and it was absolutely delicious. The lentil pastries and wings were flavorful. The coffee was robust and earthy. My table opted to get the platter and this was also a hit. Everything was well seasoned. Here are the only issues I have. It’s a bit challenging to find this spot. It’s immediately to the right as you exit the freeway. It would be really helpful if there was better and more visible signs. The service was slooooooow even though the place was not busy. The waitress was doing the least in terms of paying attention to us. I’d still recommend a visit - totally worth it.
I've always wanted to try out Ethiopian cuisine and Lucy's was my first. It was a good experience but didn't quite hit the spot. The interior ambience and the hospitality was spot on though. As an Indian, I could draw some similarities with Indian cuisine. The Good: 1. Friendly waitress who took the time to explain the menu to us newbies. 2. The ambience and decor is a fusion of Ethiopian culture and modern look. 3. The food was good. Tasted like it was made fresh and the quantity was sufficient. But... Could Be Better: 1. ... the food was not as flavorful as I would have imagined it. Perhaps my Indian taste buds have ruined it for me. 2.
