One of the better places to get your ramen, I usually don’t draw comparisons, but I see a lot of people mention ramen tatsuya and this being better than that. This is where I disagree, I think Ramen Tatsuya is way better than this place. Tried the karage, gyoza and spicy tonkatsu and all of it was decent.

Edit They have Ramen Combo (1 choice of Ramen, 1 appetizer (Japanese fried chicken or Takoyaki), and Juice), and Sushi now. Always have good foods Tonkotsu ramen 🍜 are super yummy!“Ramen Salad with Pork Chashu” has soy sauce based rich sauce. My favorite right now. Fried chicken with Japanese sauce are the best appetizers. My favorite is “Onion Sauce Chicken Karaage”. “Oroshi Ponzu Chicken Karaage” is the next. Sorry to say that but Black fried rice is below average..

Saw this restaurant on Instagrams as the best ramen place in Houston and decided to give it a shot. It didn’t disappoint! We got a ramen, a chasu bowl and karrage chicken, everything was great! The chasu bowl may have been my favorite so far! The prices are also very reasonable.

This is one of our favourite ramen place. It is always crowded and there’s always a queue during the peak hours. Despite so, the service is fast and the wait staffs are attentive to us. Chicken Karaage 5/5 I order this all the time. I like that they also add some edamame, greens, cherry tomatoes and oranges. The chicken can be over-fried a little bit sometime. Shrimp Kakiage Mini Rice Bowl 4/5 It’s a little oily as you can see in the picture but it’s still tasty and I like that they pair it with pickled vegetable 👌🏻 Spicy Pollo Loco 5/5 Unique and yummy 😋Note that they give plenty of noodles! Tonkatsu Ramen 5/5 Same great option! Vegetarian Ramen 4/5 I like it but it is a little oily. I wish they give more capsicum cubes please!

I came here not really wanting to eat ramen but I love noodles so I ordered the Spinach Ramen Salad and oh my goodness, so glad I did. It was very tasty!! The noodles were perfect, the chicken flavorful, and the sauce was delish! It also comes with half an egg. If you love ramen but need something refreshing with noodles, this is a must try.

Tonkatsu Ramen - the noodle was perfectly cooked, not too soft. Chicken Karage - surprisingly came with garnish that made it looked beautiful.

Ramen Bar Ichi was a great spot for comfy ramen and karaage chicken. I had the Pollo Loco ramen, which is a chicken broth-based soup, and it looked quite creamy with various toppings, including ground chicken, black mushrooms, bamboo shoots, green onions, and black garlic palm oil. The broth was delicate and not overpowering. The karaage chicken with the onion sauce topping was a visually appealing dish and quite appetizing to look at. It tastes as delicious as it looks! The service was excellent, with very attentive staff. We will definitely return to try other dishes.

Good menu, okay food. Service and atmosphere: The restaurant is nicely decorated inside. They offer good number seating options. Service was friendly and timely. Could have been more attentive. Food and drinks: I liked that the menu had few options which usually suggest that the kitchen concentrates on what they know best. The many had typical dishes expected at ramen spot. The flavours lucked a bit comparing to other ramen restaurants we visited. My ramen salad (no broth option) was nicely presented. The noodle was on a firm side. Other ramen soups needed more flavours. You can order alcoholic beverages here. Pricing: $$ definitely affordable and not overpriced for what was served.

Edited Review for 2023 : Went there on a Monday afternoon looking for good grub after work. Service is still pretty quick. The Calamari & the Osaka Style Takoyaki were soggy :/ it might be due to the fact that they put Tonkatsu sauce drizzle on the takoyaki which makes it more soggy and the squid needed more time on the fryer. I also ordered the Tsukemen Ramen. The broth was light and salty and didn’t have the umami flavor that you would find in a Tsukemen. The noodles were stuck together and didn’t have that ramen bite. I’m not sure if it’s because it was a Monday but I was pretty disappointed how the food turned out. 2022 Review : Service is fast! Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen & the calamari were delicious! Great place to stop by and catch a drink & ramen after a hard days work.

First time coming here I ordered the spicy pollo loco ramen and the chicken was finely grounded I barely even tasted it. The broth was good though. I also had an order of takoyaki and that was very good. The unsweet tea was pretty gross. The waiter never checked up on us either.

Heard this is one of the most authentic Japanese ramen restaurant in H town and we were so excited to visit. However, we felt so disappointed after. First, you need to pay up front when you walk in before you find a table, then when we were in the middle of eating, the guy came ask me to check if transaction went through or not because their credit card reader had some issues. I showed him my transaction information and it came through. If he can wait until we finish food, we will feel okay. Honestly, I don’t even know how to tip because we have to pay before we even sit down so I tip 15%. Once we paid and sit, we feel neglected. We didn’t get water until we asked. Food is good tho, but there are rooms to improve

EDIT: Went tonight (11/20/2025) at 6PM. I ordered my usual vegan ramen and what was given to me was ramen with a milky broth vs the usual shoyu broth. When I questioned it, both the waitress and the guy who made claim it's a new broth that's now creamy vs dark shoyu. Which is weird because I just ate there last week for lunch and ordered the same vegan ramen with the shoyu broth. The ramen is now bland and the service is still bad, unfortunately. Time to look for another ramen shop. This place has gone down, which is a shame because I have supported them since they opened. This is my go to ramen shop in Houston. I've tried all the others, but I keep coming here since they opened. The service can be inconsistent, but I'm here for the noods.

I’m really not sure how this place has so many good reviews.. I got the tonkotsu ramen and my bf got the pollo loco and neither were good. My ramen tasted very bland and was lacking flavor- his didn’t even taste like chicken. It was edible but not something I would choose to eat again. We also tried their spider rolls which were good but were too big and fell apart when you bit into them, would be great if they made a smaller, average sushi sized version.
