The Library is a cozy wine bar with a great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff, especially Brennan and Clark. Customers rave about the wine selection and personalized recommendations. Flatbreads and charcuterie boards are popular, but some found them not amazing. Can get loud.

This quaint little wine bar had an amazing atmosphere and vibe to it. The service was top notch and the sommelier recommendations were on point as well. Enjoyed the Boquerones (Spanish anchovies), the pick six meat and cheese board, as well as a couple glasses of wine. We chose the by the glass option as we wanted to try a variety. They also had a nice by the bottle selection with options from around the globe. Cute date spot or happy hour place, with indoor and outdoor seating options. Definitely recommend checking it out.
Very relaxing place. The food is delicious to pair with wine and the service is excellent. They have a wide variety of wines, which is clearly one of their strengths. I loved that they recommend wines and are always attentive to what you need. 🍷
Trent and Lisa were absolutely amazing . We hosted our book club meeting here and the wine, flatbreads and desserts were all so good😊 the vibe was great thank you
The library is such a cute spot! It’s very intimate but has plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. We went on a Friday night and the service was great. All the staff were super friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. We had a bottle of wine and the burrata salad that was delicious.
We stumbled upon this hidden gem on January 16, 2024, determined to support local businesses even on Houston’s chilliest day. The bar’s interior is not just well-decorated; it exudes an elegant charm while maintaining a cozy ambiance. The service elevated our experience. The staff, not only friendly but remarkably intelligent. Engaging in a card game, we appreciated how they seamlessly respected the rhythm of our evening. One thing to note is the evolving menu. Over the past 3 months, we observed price adjustments, particularly with red wine bottles starting at $48. It’s worth mentioning that we remember them being priced at $40 before. An exceptional feature is the ample parking space. Moreover, the bar’s operating hours are fantastic, closing at midnight every day, which is exactly what the area needed. Located just a five-minute drive from our home, we see this bar as more than just a local spot—it’s a welcome addition to Spring Branch. If you appreciate a blend of sophistication, warmth, and a touch of luxury, this establishment is worth checking out, despite the slight price shift.
Great atmosphere, it’s like Starbucks. “Light bites”, excellent service but with wine. Cozy and full of interesting books.
We experienced The Library bar this past weekend with a group of friends and had a great time. I made reservations in advance for a group of 12 and they were ready for us when we arrived. Unfortunately, I do not remember the servers name but he was exceptionally knowledgeable on the wine options. The Colombera wine did not disappoint. The fig flatbread and arugula salad was delicious. We also ordered dessert some had the chocolate cake and others the lemon cake. Both were delicious but I loved the lemon cake it was so light. We will come back soon!
First off, let me start by saying I am not a wine drinker. I think this place just opened my eyes to how wine truly elevates the food experience. We had a 4 item charcuterie board and a flat bread. Both items were nicely done and were placed on your typical cutting board style serveware. I liked the cute library book checkout slip the bill came on. It was nostalgic to my childhood! Small details like this definitely make for a memorable experience. There is indoor and outdoor seating, which was also a nice option to have. Thank you so much for opening in Spring Branch! I hope this restaurant becomes a continued catalyst for the trendy eateries and shopping our neighborhood desperately needs!
Amazing service, great food, love the wine list here, very detailed and the staff is super knowledgeable and always here to point you in the right direction.... while you're here do not miss on the chocolates!
Books + wine = 💖✨💖 I’m so excited that this adorable wine bar has opened here in The Branch. Long Point is really a happening place these days. @thelibrarywinebarhtx is gorgeous. The wine selection is incredible and the staff is super nice and very knowledgeable. I can’t wait to go again, hint hint.
So adorable and cozy with that romantic vibe . Highly recommend . Their flatbreads tasted delicious . Generous pours too - please keep that up :) I’m so glad this place exists . Perfect wind down place
OK, gotta say WOW on this one! Got a tip from a friend at this place was great. Traveled down to Longpoint from Tomball. Quite a drive and we were blown away. Walked in the door and the atmosphere was great. Inviting an intimate. Great seating inside and outside. Our waiter, Clark, was very informative. He explained a lot about the wine menu, which was very impressive. We sampled several different glasses of wine, and they were all excellent. The food was exceptional as well. We also met Brennan. He’s the manager. He’s very warm and informative. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a great experience, an amazing selection of wine and excellent service. OK, we made a second round. It was amazing once again. Carl gave us a grand wine adventure! We told him we were newbies and asked him to lead the way. He thoughtfully led us through two rounds of amazing wines. We sat outside. It was so pleasant. During our time there, even though they were very busy inside, Brennan, Trent, and Lisa, all came out to visit us multiple times. We felt like truly valued guests. We highly recommend The Library to anyone looking for an intimate place to enjoy some amazing wine and appetizers!
Came here during soft open. Wow … this place is a gem. It is one of the top 5 wine bars in Houston for sure and may take the #1 spot once they get fully operational. If you like places like Camerata 13 Celcius, and Padres Wine Bar you’ll love this spot. Amazing wine list. Very clever decor. Passionate service. But more than anything come here for the incredible selection of new and old wine. If you want a 20 year old Rioja, Bordeaux, or Burgundt they have you covered. If you want very reasonably priced and approachable wines they have you covered too.
I finally had the opportunity to check this place out today where I met my friend to catch up. I don’t think there was a host when I arrived, but I was informed that I could take a seat wherever. I was greeted by a server who walked me through the menus. My friend and I expressed our preferences regarding wines, and we were guided thoroughly and our server made beautiful recommendations for us. we ordered a charcuterie board as well which was absolutely divine, and we loved the crostinis most of all. our glasses of water were never empty, and we were checked on by multiple people. i want to specifically mention trent who was so kind, courteous, funny, and attentive. i appreciated his service so much as he made us feel very comfortable and welcome. thank you all so much for taking care of my friend and i!
During my recent visit to this charming wine bar, I was immediately captivated by the ambiance. The library-themed decor was not only creative but set the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing evening. Shelves lined with vintage books, cozy seatng, and soft lighting gave the space an intimate, sophisticated vibe. Celebrating my birthday, we decided to indulge in a bottle of Prosecco, which was crisp and refreshing. Paired with it was a beautifully arranged charcuterie board. The selection of cured meats, artisan cheeses, and accompaniments like olives, dried fruit, and crusty bread complemented the Prosecco perfectly, enhancing each bite. The combination of a creatively designed setting, excellent wine, and delicious bites made for an unforgettable experience. It’s a spot I’d highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed yet refined night out.

Fantastic find in Spring Branch! The food options are diverse and delicious, perfectly complementing the superb wine selection. Brennan, the General Manager, is a true gem. His expertise in wines shines through, and he ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience for all patrons. Personalized service and a warm atmosphere make this place a standout. Brennan's attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction make every visit memorable. A must-visit for wine enthusiasts and foodies alike!
I went out to my cousin to try out the Library. The atmosphere was so welcoming and cozy. The waiter helping us was personable, friendly and gave us a great recommendation for wine. We also ordered a charcuterie board and the flatbread. Both selections were good, however they weren’t amazing. All in all we had a great time and will definitely be coming back!

What a fantastic gem in spring Branch. The library has a great assortment of food and very expensive wine list which is a bit overwhelming. Trent and Brennan did a great job at walking and we and my party through and made great recommendations based off my preferences. Would highly recommend this place!
Been wanting to check this place out for a while and finally got the chance to stop by on Saturday night. Love the vibes here. Casual yet elegant, although it did get a bit loud at one point. So many great wine choices, we went with a great recommendation for a red from the bartender. We came straight from dinner, so didn't get to snack but will definitely venture the menu on our next visit.

Absolutely random, strip mall universe location. Beautifully curated wine bar. Quintessential no zoning Houston. Lovely furnishings with a keen attention to detail. Unfortunately, only one of the five items on the dessert menu were available. Same for the wine menu not being fully in stock. Worth a visit if you live in the area and not expecting everything on the menu.

I was referred to this wine bar by a close friend who is a professional wine taster. As a wine enthusiast who has visited hundreds of wine bars across Houston, Austin, and beyond, I came in with high expectations and genuine excitement. Unfortunately, my first experience fell far short of that. Upon entering, it wasn’t clear whether guests were expected to order at the bar or be seated, as there is a mix of lounge and formal seating without clear guidance. The first thing I noticed was the volume—both the music and the patrons were extremely loud, with a rowdy atmosphere that lacked the decorum one typically expects from a wine bar. It felt as though I was walking into a nice dive bar. I initially brushed this off as a Friday-night issue. After being seated, an older woman approached us with menus but first insisted on checking our IDs, very thoroughly. Uncomfortably so. I previously worked as a bouncer and can say with confidence that spending over a minute examining an ID is unnecessary. If there is uncertainty, an ID scanner should be used. Instead, she scrutinized my business partner’s ID at length and examined mine even longer before stating she was unwilling to “risk a fine” or “affect the business” by accepting it. For context, I had just turned 30, and my ID was less than 20 days old. While I understand ID verification is discretionary, and law enforcement had told me that I have up to a month to update it, the wording and tone used were inappropriate and made me feel extremely unwelcome. I was spoken to in a condescending, almost juvenile manner, an odd and off-putting experience as a business owner and adult patron. There is a professional and courteous way to handle ID concerns. A simple, polite explanation that an ID cannot be accepted—paired with an invitation to return once updated—would have sufficed. Referencing potential fines from the TABC in this way strips the experience of warmth and hospitality and shifts responsibility onto the guest unnecessarily. Based on this experience, and after reading similar one-star reviews, it’s clear there is a customer service issue. A wine bar should feel inviting and elevated; unfortunately, this experience was anything but. It’s safe to say, I will not be returning. I spoke to my friend who referred me to this wine bar initially, and apparently this older woman is consistently rude when she can’t have things her way. He has also had negative interactions with her, that have caused him to stop giving The Library his patronage.
Don't just look at the good reviews. Look at the lowest ones. First time and really bad experience. They were super packed which should be expected on a Saturday night. Clearly a case of bad management and understaffed. If you need to make it reservation only to to control the flow of guests and figuring out how to best serve them, then do that. They had way too few people working to service that amount of guests. You have to have a proper number of servers, food runners, and bussers. Whoever is managing or owning this place needs to figure it out because word is going to get around and it's going to tank. The service is abysmal. One of the people working there was extremely rude and very insulting in her attitude and her facial expressions at us. Yes the wine is nice, the charcuterie, the setting, etc. We're in Houston so there are literally dozens and dozens and dozens of choices around. The way to set yourself apart is through superb service. People go to wine bars to learn about wine and food. You won't get that experience here. Why am I spending $100 when I could spend it elsewhere and have a way better service and experience? Some better options with better service are Montrose Cheese and Wne or Barcelona.

Crappy first experience. We live so close and heard great things. Arrived and were told there were no tables available so we could wait at the bar. First problem, where? There was already another couple standing in the only standing room available at the bar. We squeezed in at the midpoint where a single chair had been left open. I guess because I sat in the chair we then forfeited any possibility of getting a table. So second problem, my husband stood at the bar the entire time we were there. We were given menus and someone did help us with wine choices but it was all downhill from there. We weren’t given water even after we ordered food. The flatbread was good but by then it was clear we would not be seated, there were no other bar seats available, and we weren’t going to get anything, much less water, unless we flagged someone down for it. Multiple staff stood directly across from us wiping glasses for 20 min and didn’t say a single thing to us. The final straw was when we saw people who had just walked in get seated at the bar, offered glasses of water, and were engaged with immediately by bar staff. I was fuming. I can understand a busy bar but this is a nice place with prices to match. The experience was unacceptable. We were planning to stay longer and order more but once it was clear that our situation wasn’t going to change, forget it. Why pay more for bad service and a crappy atmosphere? Disappointing. Don’t bother if you’re looking for the “cozy” and “attentive” experience described by others. I’m trying to figure out if those people came at a special time or when there were different people working…. The whole thing left a bad taste in our mouths.
