2 weeks ago my wife was in the hospital nearby and could only eat soft foods. I called and asked if they could make me oatmeal even though it was way after breakfast explaining the situation with my wife. They said no problem. When I showed up to pick up and pay, they refused to take my money. This small act of kindness made such a massive impact on my day. Thank you!

The Cascades is my favorite diner—no, favorite restaurant—in Hudson. It's one of the last places where you get the vibe of "old Hudson"—where people take care of each other and aren't out to gouge people with high prices on trendy items. I'm so glad The Cascades has survived Hudson's "transition" and providing better service than ever.

Great food, great service, great ambiance. Brought back memories of the former New York Confectionary, which was in that space for many years. I had the creamy mushroom soup, which was absolutely delicious, and a memorable half chicken salad sandwich served with potato salad. I would give it an A+, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Wooooooof must go to The Cascades. Tried multiple breakfast items and everything was spectacular. Best breakfast in Hudson. A trip wouldn't be complete without trying their famous waffles. No idea what they're made of, but they are something else. Staff is super welcoming as well.

Love this place for my regular lunchtime sandwich and soup. It is where the locals go and good mix of all others. No other place on Warren Street has a comparable small town vibe or a better value in good plain sandwiches and sides.

Amazing sandwiches. I had a Reuben and it was perfect. They also gave beer and wine plus even with COVID there was so indoor seating, nice with the current summer temps. If you're around Hudson and need something to eat, I highly recommend Cascades

Cascades has been such a pilar of Hudson for so many years! The staff is more like family than anything else! These hard working men and women are what make this town great! It's such a classic place to hang out and catch up with friends and family. Never have to worry if the food is going to be "good this time", it's always fantastic!

Yep yep yep! I ate the chicken pear salad and woah now it was great. Very quaint place. The flooring is from the early 1900s, no joke. Among the very many places to eat in Hudson (and really, there are too many) this is a great pick. Do it up!

Fabulous Brunch! If you ever need to host a Brunch....I highly recommend The Cascades as the place to supply your meal. Gorgeous fruit platter, yummy assorted quiches (even meatless options), scrumptious Danishes, begals, savory bacon & sausage! Coffee bar is available too. Everything looked great, tasted fantastic, and was reasonably priced. We were in town for a family wedding & I hosted a brunch for the group. Bob & his staff were easy to work with and responded well to my inquiries. The 'in house' food options are great too, especially the sandwiches. All in all 👍👍.

Excellent creamy chicken soup. Great friendly staff. Strong coffee (I asked for extra steamed milk for my cappuccino). Gluten Free bread. Hubby and I split a Reuben on GF bread. It was great. It was packed when we arrived and we were seated and served very quickly.

The best there is. No one can touch their soups. This is not a fast food joint, you may have to wait but it is well worth it. Call ahead. The staff are friendly and helpful and BUSY. They are busy for a reason, the food simply slaps. Can’t go wrong with any of their desserts, but if I were to pick a favorite, it’d be the Molly bar. Love this place.

Super friendly service. Nice selection of specialty grocery items and candies. Interesting stuff nearby on the main street. Decent avacado on a bagel. The ham and cheese melt was amazing and the waffles were some of the best I've ever had. If anyone from Cascades is reading this, I would love the recipe ;)

Great sandwiches and teas. I was surprised by the free refills on the tea. Bathroom was sort of a mess though. No ventilation so the window was propped open. No paper towels or soap at the sink either.

Really good sandwich, customer service, and atmosphere. However, there was a very long wait time. As a walk in, I waited about 25 mins for a single sandwich and nothing else, which was at least better than the 40 min wait time they were telling people calling in, which was ringing off the hook. Obviously this place is busy for a reason, very good food. But I was passing through for a quick lunch and I was late for my appointment due to the unexpectedly long wait time which I didn't realize was gonna happen until after I paid and sat down. Had to eat while driving just to save time. I would consider going back if i had more than a half hour to wait and eat after ordering.

Got one of their vegetarian sandwiches to go. I believe it was called the catamount. Good ingredients, fresh bread, but the sandwich was a mess. Ingredients falling out everywhere, the pickle spear they included made some of the bread soggy. I've gotten mixed reviews from people on this place and I can understand why. I'll try it again and see if my sandwich is made better next time.

Certainly not what it used to me. I will say the food is as good as it's ever been but it's very chaotic to order. If you've been there previously you have no idea what's going on. They no longer provide table service so you order, then find a table and you're kind of on your own after that. Sandwiches no longer come with sides. It's a sandwich in deli paper, that's it. I would compare this to cafeteria style dining with decent food. Not impressed and I probably won't go back. :(

I’ve ordered food from here on a few occasions and have never been blown away. But recently I ordered a “guacamole bagel” which was supposed to have avocado with tomato on top. I think the guacamole was bad as it was mostly brown and it was dripping everywhere. Took a few bites and felt sick, had to toss it out.

Hands down the worst customer service in Hudson with the nastiest personalities. The lack of acknowledgement, attention and disregard for assistance is enough to keep me out of there. I have, however, been a glutton for punishment and made my way in for their delicious sandwiches, but due to being ignored, I have frequently just walked right back out. I get it...you're busy (even though you're not when I have come in), but even just a "be right with you" would keep me standing around for another five minutes.

I experienced an extreme level of transphobia here where I was misgendered and upon correction they told me " there are 2 genders pick a side. Trans people are not real"

While I was getting lunch me and my bf were misgendered upon correction they yelled at us and told us to pick a side and that trans people aren’t real- my boyfriend is a trans man and I am non binary - I have never experienced this type of hate or cruelty at a business before. Was completely blindsided by the aggression and ignorance.
