Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

We were the only ones in there for lunch. We grabbed two kids meals for my boys. The staff was super friendly. When we got back to our table, I realized we had skipped the lettuce and salsa part of the prep so I ran back up and they had no problem, tossing some in a little tin for me to put in their tacos. The boys had drinks and we noticed the Horchata was empty and they refilled it right away. It was clean. It was empty. There was no line. We didn’t have to wait. It tasted good. That’s good enough for me.

Cafe Rio is sooo delicious! And the food (when applicable) is sooo crunchy and fresh!! I love eating here. I would have pictures of my food but it was sooo delicious so I ate it really fast...sorry folks. Ur just gonna have 2 visit this restaurant..

The service at this location is phenomenal. The staff are all super friendly and frequently remember my order. I always order a taco salad; the portion is extremely large and very filling. The salad bowl is the ultimate form of the burrito bowl; this Cafe Rio does not skimp on any ingredients and makes sure you will be full after you meal. Each salad honestly lasts me two meals especially if you include every ingredient option. If you want a satisfying meal worth the cost, check out this location!

This establishment puts chipotle to shame. So much more variety and everything takes so fresh and good. They make their tortillas from scratch! They are constantly putting specials for their meat selection and I love that they toast the cheese on the burritos. A+. Keep up the good work!

Gilbert is the definition of excellent service! He always greets customers with a big smile and such a positive attitude. He is friendly, patient, and truly makes every visit enjoyable. We always look for him when we go to Café Rio because his kindness and professionalism make the experience even better. Also, the food is amazing, it’s the place that tastes the most like real Mexican home cooking. Tiene sabor de hogar.

I’ve ordered from this location a few times. They consistently get my order correct and the preparation is quick. All the employees are very friendly and happy to give you extra cilantro or free toppings for your take out order that you can’t select in the app. They acknowledge you when you enter and don’t leave you waiting for a long time before asking what your name is for to-go orders if it’s not already on the shelf. Will continue to frequent this location!

This was my first time at this restaurant. I was visiting California for a conference and decided to go there. I must say it was a very pleasant experience the employees were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place. It reminds me of Chipotle.

This has been my favorite location since moving to orange county in Feb 2023 and I've been ordering the tortilla soup with pollo asado since it was added to the menu and today is the first time being told I can't order that. The woman did make it with pollo asado but told me don't order it no more but why when it's an option on the menu would there be no way to charge for it? Something cafe rio should fix in a hurry. Nothing against the store but if I can't order what I want no point in returning which sucks because I do love the food here.

Love Cafe Rio dining in but when ordering from Uber eats they seem to have a policy of shorting or completely leaving off the meat. Have had 5 separate orders from Cafe Rio with very little or absolutely no meat when ordering for delivery.

First time here. IMO, it took too long to take order and I was next in line. Serving was good size, but was the greasiest quesadilla ever and could taste chicken at all. Cheap cheese and burt tortilla is all I tasted and feel like crap after just a few bites. The odds of coming back are very slim to none. I've been here tons of times. I love this place. This is my first negative experience and it was 100% because of 1 person here. The bad rating is to hopefully catch the attention of a manager. This one employee seriously sucks at his job. And guarantee it is because he doesn't care at all about what he is doing. He seems miserable and it's reflected in his performance. He couldn't hear me a number of times and then I realize he has earphones in his ears (see picture). Like... how is this allowed? Then I get home and find chunks of romaine stalk in my food (see picture). Whenever I see this guy here, I am going to just turn around and walk out. Super disappointing experience.

On top of that the food was cold and the presentation was awful. Also black cilantro. Adding another pic for lack of chopping skills… literally kept the root of a scallion in the pico. They were also out of black iced tea as icing on the cake. Food quality is terrible, quality control is non existent, service is bad, and I emailed their customer care and received a generic response. Just avoid this place hopefully it closes soon.

So I tired again today and oh man what a let down. I got home to eat my tacos and noticed they were completely burt to a crisp. Not only that something was terribly wrong with the chicken. Tasted like someone spilled a whole container of salt in the recipe. To a point it was inedible. Not only that my salsas were spilling in my bag and the size of guac that was to come with my tacos was less that a teaspoon which is disappointing for the $3 price. Not sure if I am going to give you guys a 3rd chance. Getting fed up. It is a bummer because I really like your food.
