I have eaten here since I was a kid. I know live 5 hrs away but will still make a trip back to the area and make sure I stop. Fantastic food and fantastic people. You won’t be disappointed.

A bonafide Jamestown area classic. They haven't changed since I was younger and the don't need too. Johnny's is a 50s style diner with amazing food. (Don't let the looks of the food fool you.) Their everything burgers and dogs are so unique that they will keep you coming back for more.

Our entire family loves this place. We moved to N.C. for several years and the first stop when we came home to visit was always Johnny's! Now that we're back home and visit N.C. all of our family and friends tells us "don't forget the Johnny's! Best little family owned spot around. Love all the folks that run and own it!!

Give the place a hundred stars? I would... Been going here for DECADES, Like a half a century. When they were in Brooklyn Square... Why? Johnny's Lunch rules. Simple as that. Same great food, fast friendly service, the legendary sauce, so no reason to change. No ridiculous "contemporary" dishes - you go here for a Texas Hot (or a fine burger), fries or onion rings and say, maybe a shake. Writing 'a Texas Hot' is unjust, best to get 5 or 6, maybe crack into double digits :), then a side. The food is ALWAYS fresh and well cooked. To close, because everybody has a keyboard and tends to exaggerate everything, I want to be crystal clear and make sure this point comes across with all the meaning I can muster - Johnny's Lunch is an INSTITUTION. Eat here, eat here a lot.

Their Johnny's sauce is amazing! My parents would get these whenever we had a craving for them and we'd gorge until we were full and then we'd freeze them and eat them over the course of a few days or a week.. DEFINITELY recommend eating here!

Got the two burger meal with Logan berry milkshake. Was around $9 for the meal was two burgers fries and a xl shake. I gotta hand it to them the food absolutely awesome and the rustic style of the restaurant was unique and fascinating. 5/5 fast service, good people, good food.

The food was great, the service was excellent!!! If your not big on crowds I'd suggest going elsewhere. It's kind of loud and people are everywhere. Also they only take cash payments.

I have been been eating here for almost 50 years. It has always and still is my favorite place to eat when I come to town. Their food is amazing and inexpensive. Not to mention that they have been around for over 85 years. For those of you who have left a bad review because they only accept cash have obviously never owned a business. The banks can charge company's upwards of 4% plus additional fees just to accept card payments. As far as the charge for using their ATM machine, I don't know of any ATM that doesn't charge you to use it unless you use one from your financial institution. Reviews should be based on their food, pricing, environment, cleanliness and customer service which to me has always been outstanding.

This place was amazing. The atmosphere, the food, the entire experience. We were just looking for something different for lunch and honestly we were not disappointed. You can always go get your chain fast food places but this was just so much better. All the food we had was fantastic. Burgers, hotdogs, chicken nuggets for the kids, and the fries were all cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Also their milk shakes were great too. I would've spent more money at a chain fastfood place and gotten a quarter of the taste value. They are cash only so be prepared for that. There staff is extremely friendly and efficient. When I am back in the area I will be returning for lunch that is a guarantee.

Just moved here and wanted to try it out because I was curious....however, they were not open. I was able to go a couple of days ago, and LOVED IT!!! Very clean, friendly, and great food and excellent prices. They close for 7 weeks in the winter, that's why I thought they were closed.

Came here off a recommendation from the front desk agent at the hotel and I'm glad we did. Had three hots, some fries and the rice pudding while my wife had the cheeseburger and a Black Forest milkshake. Everything was fantastic, and the price was great also. I'm guessing all the locals already know about this place so for all those who are just hearing about it now, I'll strongly recommend it. If you're not a fan of simple but good food, and diner-like food, you'll probably want to give it a pass. But if you like a good burger and/or hot dog, definitely give Johnny's a shot.

I've been stopping here for years. I started going here while fishing on the lake and now as I travel back and forth to Ohio. Well worth the diversion off the main highway. The food is great. Wish there was a location closer so I could frequent.

This place has the best Texas Hots of anyplace around Jamestown. The service is friendly and fast. They know there business well. Proven by the steady flow of people eating there. I recommend if you get to the area to stop and have some.

Somewhat of a rich and historic location to visit and have some of the areas most iconic dogs, burgers, and fries with sauce that will force you to come back. There is almost never a time where you won't find entire families and or local sports teams coming and going to enjoy a sit in at Johnny's. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Having grown up in the area, we have frequented Johnny's Lunch for over 30 years. Quality of food, fair pricing and friendly staff have remained consistent as long as I can remember. Johnny's hot dogs are a hometown treat at a very affordable price. They are delicious with everything (Johnny's sauce, mustard and onion) or any other condiments you care to have. I have found I really like their burgers with their sauce too. Fries(regular, cheese or loaded), onion rings and milk shakes are all terrific too. Always friendly and fast service

The most friendly staff ever. It is just a real treat to go there whenever I am in Jamestown. Food is inexpensive and the sauce is made from scratch in the back. Sometimes, you can get a peak at the massive cauldron. The rice pudding is an old family recipe and is second to none.

What can I say somehow some way Johnny's takes the cheapest ingredients and makes them taste better then any other hotdog place around. I don't know what they do nor do I think I want to but it's delicious. Plus the only place I've been to recently that hasn't raised prices dramatically.. If your looking for a good and still very cheap place to eat give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Johnny's Lunch is an excellent place to go to grab a bite to eat. The owners used to be my neighbor, and they are always pleasant to talk to and do Business with. They have been around serving the public for decades. Their food is always great, as well as the service. I always enjoy stopping in at Johnny's as I know I will experience the same great food & service I have experienced for many years.

When my boyfriend took me here for the first time I was kind of sceptical about the place but when I walked in i absolutely loved it. The food was good the staff was friendly and loved the feel of the place I keep asking my boyfriend when we are going back. It's a hot dog joint and being from PA there are not many hot dog places anymore.

Definitely not gourmet food here. However, it's good food served fast. This place brings back great memories for my wife who grew up in Jamestown. We stop here every trip and the food is always great.

My family has loved Johnny's for decades. They live all around the country and everytime they visit the area we always meet up at Johnny's at least once. There's nothing like it! Super friendly and efficient service, even during the incredibly busy lunch hour youre not waiting long. I usually get hotdogs and a milkshake. Oh, and do try the rice pudding. Yum!

The cheapest burgers, hotdogs & cheeseburgers around. Service is fast and friendly. You can't eat this food all the time. However, once in awhile it's a great treat!

Well, I remember Johnny well...my grandmother rest her soul used to mix the spices in the back room for him. I remember waiting for my mother after school because she was a waitress for Johnny and he would always bring me a milkshake! I also remember a customer named banana and when he was robbed Johnny was so sad because banana always sat at the same booth on north main st...Johnny RIP and I just want his family to know he was bigger than life and left a mark on me from the 1960's I have always cherished in my heart.

Johnny's is an iconic hot dog restaurant. Every time I go there the staff is very friendly. The place is very clean. I have never gone there and been disappointed by the food that they have served me. If you are ever in Jamestown, this is a must place to eat. For dessert, make sure that you get the rice pudding.

Holy heck, this place is amazing. My family is from here, so before my grandmother moved away in 2019, I used to come here a lot. The hot dogs here are absolutely sublime, these will always be the best hot dogs in my opinion. Service is nice, and when you go in, you go back in time, it has a very classic feel to it, and I couldn't recommend it enough.

Exceeded my expectations! Cash only gem in Jamestown. I cannot believe how great all of the food was here and everything in my photo (including fountain drinks) was less than $20. Rice pudding is to die for, you have to try it ! Can't wait to go back. Also, they have Pepsi products and little packets of lemon juice, which I greatly appreciated!

Excellent home made strawberry milkshake, hot fries (not hand cut), dogs are getting smaller but still have that great sauce to give them some flavor. Texture was meaty with an easy to eat bun. The bottle of hot sauce is also near by for those who need some spicy flavor. Atmosphere has a home town feel with nostalgia popping out on the walls.

Just hot dogs and hamburgers and shakes. But the dogs have their Johnny's sauce and mustard and onion a Texas hot. Johnny sauce, idk what it's made of, but it gives a nice spice to a hot dog or a burger, especially with the mustard and onions YUM.

This time, Nov. 31 about 6:30, the dogs were too salty. And not enough mustered.

I've always loved Johnny's, the service, people and atmosphere have always been great. Due to location, I have always chose a closer restaurant. Today that one was closed so, after years, chose to go to Johnny's. 🙂 I got 9 hot dogs (for the family), fries and a milkshake. Fries and milkshake were delicious but unfortunately most of the hot dogs went to the trash. We could barely get through 1 of them without our stomachs hurting from the overwhelming amount of salt. It was just wayyy too much, it instantly made me sick. It makes me sad because it was always a top tier restaurant for me growing up. I guess that made my decision to stick to the one in town. 😕

Ordered 9 burgers, 3 hot dogs, and 2 French fries with sauce and cheese. The order was read back to us correctly. When we got home, we were missing 3 burgers and there was no cheese on our fries. We paid with cash and did not get a receipt. We have no proof of payment but got shorted 3 burgers, and the cheese sauce on the fries. We found this quite upsetting and even a bit of a shady practice. Doubt well ever go back!!

I wish Google would stop asking me to review the place. I go here sometimes because the people I'm with don't care which place the get dogs from. Where I prefer AJs. The food just seems to taste better there. And I really hate the fact this place is cash only and has a charge ATM. 'Cash-only' is prehistoric, and the practice is associated with some not so reputable activities, so it makes me feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable.

Pretty sure I just got hustled... I havent been here in a while so I wanted to give it another go. Man, am I disappointed. I ordered 3 burgers for 4.27 onion rings for 2.71, and 5.38 for a "malt" milkshake. In my mind, plus tax this come to maybe 13.50 at most. This guy rings it up four times, get 4 different totals proceeds to charge the store 13.06 and charges me 15 dollars and says yeah, now I got it right.. the only thing you got right was the fact this business serves subpar food that is lukewarm, literally charges way too much for what you get, and when he watched me throw away half my food, he didn't budge or say anything. I left disgusted and still hungry. Id rather eat a McDonald's burger. I can't believe this place has 4.7 stars. Maybe they should sell out again...

Where to start.... it was dirty and the food was not edible. My hamburger didn't even come close to resembling beef and looked barely cooked. It was literallydone . before I even finished paying. The hot dog was warmed, not cooked and the sauce was aweful. I dont know how this place has a good rating. I have been to restaurants all over Pa and Southern states and this 1 was by far the worst ever.

Absolutely the worst burger I have ever tried to eat. 1 bite of this dog food like substance and we threw them in the garbage and left. If you want luke warm half steamed dog food on a bun this is your place.

I grew up on Johnny's, haven't been in about 30 years. I was so disappointed, I will never go back. Use to have ground meat in the sauce, and there was none in it. I was all excited to show off the place so he could compare it to the Erie similar lunches, he thought it was awefull too.

Didn’t have the hotdogs, but maybe should have. Never been before and ordered the double cheeseburger meal. The burger was about 16th inch thick, pinkish grey looking and the furthest thing from a cheeseburger that I could imagine. If there was cheese on it it would have been liquid and maybe a penny size worth. It was smothered in the worst tasting brown gravy and onions. If this place is famous for their gravy then everyone in that area must not have any tastebuds.

The service and hard working staff is incredible, but I cannot lie...that was the nastiest thing I've eaten in a LONG time, it literally tastes like flavorless slop,the shakes were ok, but we drove 2 hours cause my family praises it..personally it was NASTYYYYY! But to each there own, God bless the staff working there and I mean this in the nicest way possible, I CANNOT eat here again

My wife and I stopped here hoping for the best from a family restaurant that’s been around for over half a century with great reviews. You’ll notice in the picture that the “burger” we received is grey, boiled beef and one of the worst things I’ve ever put in my mouth. I guess you get what you pay for - $4 for a burger and frozen fries. Save yourself the miserable experience and go to Five Guys across the street… or McDonalds. Both have better food.
