This is my favorite Cheddar’s location!! They always seem to have a wait but we always manage to find a seat at the bar!!! The food is extremely, reasonably priced! And so are the drink! My favorite is the Texas Sweet Tea :-) You’re not allowed to order more than two of them but you won’t need to anyway!! And they have such a variety of foods on the menu you can’t go wrong!!! And EVERYTHING is SOOOO good!!!

This place is great. My family and I went after church on Sunday. Olivia was our server and she's amazing. She is so attentive and checked on us many times. I didn't take pictures of the food but my husband and I both had the salmon with baked potato and broccoli and it was great. My boys had the bacon cheeseburger. Everything was really good and prices affordable. I recommend!

Idk WHO was in that kitchen on 11/12/25 but the broccoli cheddar casserole was EXQUISITE!!!! 🤌🏾 For a while, I'd been disappointed with it and wondered if they changed the recipe, but whoever was in the kitchen yesterday GOT IT RIGHT!!!! Arrived at this location around 6:45 pm, during the weekday, for dinner. No line when I entered. Seated quickly. Tried the Texas sweet tea (cocktail), and an appetizer. Nice environment. Prices not too expensive. I did notice that around 7:30pm, a line formed at the reception area. Glad that I was seated already so I wouldn't have to wait to enjoy my eats. Food was great. I tried the grilled white fish.

Decided to try Cheddar’s and absolutely loved it. From the Sirloin steak, to the monster cookie. I am definitely eating here again, although my review is based entirely on the food & not so much the service, but by the looks of the interior of the restaurant, it’s definitely an upscale, calm, & nice place.

I read their ad on the Nextdoor app regarding made rom scratch meals. It’s a clever ad that drew me here. It was quite crowded at 5:30 on a a Saturday. Many arrived earlier and were finishing up as I was seated. There was a waiting line as u was leaving. I was pleasantly and promptly greeted and seated. The menu had many favorites and wholesome choices. I was given a lightly frosted croissant upon arrival. It was warm and fresh. I ordered the tilapia with shrimp meal. It came with a choice of 2 sides, so I chose a dinner salad and broccoli. The order was made very timely and the food looked very colorful and fresh. Overall good choices. Payment was made through a table top wireless screen. One can place orders here or even play pre loaded games. There was a unique ceiling fan like no other I’ve seen. Looked like spinning paddles.

Today we had a great family dinner.. We were seated at the bar and Bianca the bartender took a really good care of us.. very attentive and friendly.. The food was great and huge!! Great portions and my wife loved the painkiller cocktail!

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen offers an impressive variety on their menu, ensuring there's something for everyone. I was pleasantly surprised by the short wait time, even during peak hours. With their reasonable prices and attentive service, it's a dining experience I highly recommend!

Today was our first time at Cheedars, and it was even better than we expected. Our waitress was Carrisa, and you can tell she knows what is she doing. She was fabulous! She was fast and was always smiling. My husband wanted something with cheese, so we ordered the trio sampler and the monte Cristo. On the Trio, The queso and the tenders with honey mustard dipping was juicy. I’m not a tenders fan, but those tenders, were great. Monte Cristo, was something different for us. Kind of sweet bread filled with turkey, ham and cheese, and it came with a raspberry dressing. Uff!! Awesome. And there is more… the croissants!! All fresh, hot enough, and with these melted sweet butter on top! My favorite part.

I asked for a quiet booth to lunch alone with my book. I got just that and delicious potato soup & red beans and rice. My server was from NOLA and kindly brought me blackened seasonings on the side to kick it up. Perfect sweet tea!

This was a great Cheddars. I've been to 2 different cheddars in Houston but the Katy location has been by far the best. Nice atmosphere and great customer service from the seater to the waiter and the cook. The food was fresh and looked appealing and tasted great. Multiple waitress asked was everything okay and if we needed anything. We were seated in the bar area in a booth which was nice and comfortable but just alot of traffic going through the to-go door. Overall it was a good experience I would recommend. The waiter was friendly respectful and gave good customer service. I would recommend this location. It's in a nice area with multiple stores and other shopping within 5 miles or less eat and shop.

This has been my go-to place for a Monte Cristo sandwich ever since Bennigan’s closed down years ago. The croissants are addictive too. I only wish they still had the chicken nachos on the menu.

Great place to eat and food prices. The sirloin was delicious and also regular frozen margarita with a big coup for just 4.49. Nice attention and friendly crew. I saw some comments about delay in food but we didn't have that, I would say faster than other places. The dessert fudge cake with vanilla ice cream was huge. Clean place and nice ambience. A lot of tvs to watch night football. Overall worth it the first time visit and will come back.

We visited Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen on Friday, February 13, 2026, and had a wonderful experience. Our party of four was warmly greeted by the manager, who stopped by our table and shared such pleasant conversation—it truly set the tone for the evening. We ordered the chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, and the beef tips dinner. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious! Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, our server Maria was kind, considerate, and courteous. She checked on us several times and made sure we had everything we needed. Her attentiveness really stood out. If you’re planning a visit, be sure to ask for Maria—you’ll be glad you did!

Lively atmosphere, friendly service, great price, and huge portions are the main reasons why we keep coming back. Country Fried Chicken: Huge portions of chicken smothered in gravy. Crispy on the outside but also extremely tender. This is one of our favorite dishes! Grilled salmon: Great for those looking for something lighter. Cheddar was good as usual. Enjoyed tasty apps and good entrees as well. They having issues with the lemonade that day so I switched to sweet tea instead which was better. Good spot for dinner; we came in around 5 pm last Sunday and the restaurant was busy but not fully packed; the server was super friendly and made few great recommendations for us as it was our first time at Cheddar’s. I liked the idea of legends on each menu item to prevent any issues or unexpected ingredients. I would love to see more cleanliness improvements for booths; our lounge was greasy and they cleaned right away. Also, overall the food was a little bit saltier than my preference; make sure to inform your server about your preferred seasoning level. Food quality to price tags comparison are great. Make sure to get an appetizer as the mains portions might be not enough for the above average American customer. And do not decline their standard croissant dish ; could be the best bread appetizer you ever had. Well done folks and keep up the good work

My Dijion Chicken and mushrooms was delicious. The rice was a tad salty . They the best Dijiin sauce. I also had the broccoli rice casserole and green beans. My husband had the Salmon and Shrimp. They forgot to add his shrimp, but our waitress Kaylee jumped on that and fixed it in a jiffy. His salmon was a bit lacking from the last time. His baked potato and broccoli were fine. Kaylee was friendly, courteous and very professional. We were very pleased with her service.

Caution: The trivia game on the table charges you $1.99 to play. There's no warning or notice that I saw and was shocked to see it on my bill. I'm very disappointed in Cheddar's for allowing this. There is a proper procedure to breading a CFS properly. This one was a shriveled up piece of tough meat in the corner of an empty shell of breading, and way overcooked. (see pic) Obviously rushed. The food quality is average at best. I had the steak and ribs with 2 sides (carrots and broccoli). The steak was 6 oz and very bland. On the other hand, the ribs did fall off the bone tender and BBQ sauce was delicious. I did opt for a strawberry and mango margarita. Flavor is where you win me over. That was tasty. Chicken fingers and coleslaw were good but everything else was undercooked and/or overspiced (should be able to taste steak, not just pepper). There are so many sweet overtones on food, the sweet tea tasted tart. Staff was OK, but they need better communication (especially with bar drinks) and awareness of customers' wants/needs (ie. drink refills).

Food was good as usual. I was disappointed with lack of support after my car was broken into while eating at the restaurant June 3rd at approx 2:30pm.. We were not familiar with the area as we stopped for lunch on our way home from San Antonio. I went back inside and asked for a manager. Management did not engage, didn’t know which police department serviced the area, didn’t have video to provide, and didn’t even offer a table or cup of water as my son and I waited over an hour for police to arrive for a report. When police arrived we learned they recovered some items at another restaurant that was hit. They had us meet at the other restaurant to identify items stolen. We were greeted by their management, asked if there was any assistance they could provide securing the broken window, offered water. They even had video that police were able to use. Totally different experience! I emailed Cheddars directly following the incident and they did not respond to my concern which prompt open review so others who are passing through town with luggage in their cars can make an informed decision when deciding where to dine. All cars that were hit were families traveling.with luggage in their cars.

Cheddars is one of my favorite restaurants and this is the first time Ive ever had an issue with their food. I don’t frequent this particular Cheddars in Katy because I live in another city, but me and a friend were meeting for dinner and the Katy location was more convenient. Let me first say the bartender was GREAT. She was kind and attentive. She doesn’t prepare the food so this isn’t her fault. My appetizer (spinach dip) and croissants were good so no complaints there. The first time my New Orleans pasta was brought out, it was very dry and lacked flavor. I then tried to fix it by ordering sauce on the side. The sauce was brought out cold. At that point I let the bartender see for herself that the sauce was cold, and told her to just bring me a to go plate and I would take it home and fix it up myself. She offered to have her manager make me another one. I requested that one be put in a to go box. The picture below is what I got back the second time. I got dry noodles again garnished with parsley. There was one piece of sausage in there. I had to come home and fix it to my liking because it was the worst New Orleans pasta I’ve ever had, to the point where I had to write a review because they weren’t even that busy for food to come out looking and tasting bad. Cheddars has never disappointed me like this. I would recommend the College Station location you’re ever in that area. Their food is always hot and delicious even when they’re busy. Maybe the kitchen was having a bad day today, but based on how the bartender treated me I’m willing to give this one another try.

I haven't been to Cheddars in years, however we came on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate my mom's birthday. After my experience there today I definitely will not return. THE FOOD QUALITY HAS DECLINED DRAMATICALLY! We were a party of 5 adults and 2 kids. We were sitted promptly and our server (I believe her name was Kiara) was great, but the food was HORRIBLE! They brought the food out with missing condiments no ranch with the chicken tenders like we ordered and NO GRAVY ON THE CHICKEN FRIED STEAK OR MASHED POTATOES! My father literally had to wait 10 minutes for them to "heat up the gravy" my son also ordered mashed potatoes no gravy came with it either like we ordered. The broccoli rice casserole was DISGUSTING (LUBYS has waaaay better broccoli rice casserole) this tasted mushy and gross. The chicken fried steak was gross as well didn't even taste like meat! How is chicken fried STEAK mushy?? We immediately told our server which they omitted from our bill. My mom ordered loaded baked potato with bacon bits (they charge you a dollar just to add bacon bits!) That too never came with the order SMH The only redeemable menu item was the fall off the bone ribs. It went really well with the bourbon glaze sauce (it came with the salmon entree in which the salmon didn't even look cooked all the way) Ugh Cheddars I was highly disappointed in our meal plus we were told they can't even sing happy birthday to my mom because they got sued lol just a miss! Definitely go elsewhere

I ordered a 6oz sirloin steak medium cooked. First time it came raw, not even rare :(, only the outside was seared. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of that but when I sent it back, I took a picture and again it was not medium. This also happened to another sirloin steak we had also ordered. So it happened with 2 steaks. I wanted the steak to work so bad because the T-bone steak was so delicious! Maybe it was my lapse in judgement to order steak from cheddars :(. I want to emphasize that the steaks were both refunded we just wanted to talk with the manager because we realized the T-bone steak was also raw near the bone, and we wanted a possible refund for that, but the manager informed us that it was normal, so we didn’t press for a refund (although the manager did say she was going to try and get us a refund, so kind!). We also didn’t press for a refund since we had already eaten it before we got to the bone and it was fine. However, it took long to get a manager, and we only talked to her when we were leaving (we asked twice for one at this point). The server did tell us the manager was busy, but the manager said it was the first time of her hearing this complaint, which led me to believe the server didn’t bother telling that specific manager (probably because the server didn’t wanna bother the manager). The server was so kind and extremely apologetic and I thank her for her attentiveness. Overall, 3 of us didn’t get to eat (the second sirloin steak was shared between 2 people), so the experience was subpar, unfortunately. Bread still delicious . Maybe I should’ve asked for more bread as compensation 😂.

Today I visited cheddars to grab a quick kids meal take out. Chicken tenders and broccoli casserole. I was served only broccoli with a few grains. I went back inside to give them a chance to fix it and they just plated it in a different container with under cooked rice chicken was also undercooked. Hey y’all! This is my first time leaving a negative review for Cheddar’s, but I wanted to share our experience at this location. My party of four arrived around 7:00 PM on a Sunday. While I understand weekends can be busy, the restaurant appeared fairly calm when we walked in. After being seated, we were told our server would be with us shortly—however, no one came. We sat unattended for about 17 minutes, watching other tables receive service, before finally flagging down a server ourselves. I didn’t catch his name, but he was very apologetic and took our order, letting us know that a server would be assigned to us shortly. We also noticed that we never received the complimentary croissants that other tables were being served. After waiting an additional 25 minutes following our order—on top of the initial wait—our food arrived. The food wasn’t terrible, but it was room temp rather than hot and portions were noticeably smaller than usual, which was disappointing given past experiences. We asked again about the croissants and were told they were baking and would be out shortly. However, even after finishing our meal (about 35 minutes later), they still never arrived. By this point, we had flagged down multiple servers and received repeated apologies, but no real resolution. Overall, the biggest issue wasn’t the food—it was the lack of service and follow-through. We felt overlooked and invisible throughout most of our visit, which is not what I’ve come to expect from Cheddar’s. Service truly makes or breaks a dining experience, and unfortunately, this location missed the mark tonight. I hope this feedback helps improve service moving forward. Have a good night!

The servers are delightful. However almost every time I come here the bartenders are awful at following simple instructions making the visit not worth the money. Third time ordering a margarita and asking that they please put sugar on the rim and add more than a table spoon of watermelon flavor. What to say except the bartender sucks and is incompetent. No sugar, No watermelon slice, and a small sip of Watermelon puree at the bottom of the glass, nothing about this is swirled. Avoid ordering drinks here, only come for the cheap food.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!! ON OUR WAY BACK TO SAN ANTONIO AND STOPPED IN KATY ONLY TO GO TO A GAS STATION FOR THIS PLACE. ITS LOCATED INSIDE OF A GAS STATION AND AT 2PM AIN'T EVEN NO FOOD COOKING!!!! First time ordering to go and NEVER AGAIN. I got the chicken fried chicken double meal. They literally gave me enough gravy to cover the bottom of the Togo cup it comes it. I didn’t even get half of a cup of gravy in the small plastic side cups that the taco truck uses. Now 2 chicken fried chickens gone to waste because they gave the bare minimum in gravy. This was my whole point in ordering extra but yet I just received 2 half gravy’s in small plastic side cups. DO BETTER !

We love chedar we've been to so many other locations and they've grate. This is by far the worst one. From the wait to the service and food. 1) We never recived our croissants even after asking for them. 2) They took a long time to ask for our drinks. 3) My husband asked for what beer and the waiter said whatever we have on the menu that's it, with a nasty attitude. 4)I ordered my drink and it had trash in the ice. 5) When our food finally came the food wasn't how we ordered it. This was supposed to be a birthday dinner turned horrible.

Salad was sent to me late after my meal , and also the salad had hair in it, you can look at the tomato closely and see the hair wrapped around it. The manager on shift was very unprofessional, she made it seem like it was my fault this happened on 2/18/23 at approximately 8pm. please check your food before you eat it at cheddars in Katy

service was 8/10 food was literally 0/10 - philly cheesesteak + fish and chips platter. so salty and the philly cheesesteak was salty as well and had an awful grill taste. croissants were great as always.

This was the worst Cheddars that I’ve ever been to. The food served to me was cold, which was not only unappetizing but also unacceptable. Additionally, the service provided was subpar as the waiter seemed to forget about our table multiple times, resulting in a prolonged and frustrating dining experience. Furthermore, to add to the dissatisfaction, even the dessert (Warm Cookie) served was cold and burnt, which further highlighted the lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. The supervisor stated that the cookie is supposed to be served hot and fresh out of the oven. He replaced the dessert and it was still cold. I believe that as a customer, I deserve better service and quality when dining out. I hope that this feedback can be used to improve the overall experience for future guest.

Big let down. Took nearly 30 minutes for two of the three meals to come out. First came out promptly. It was the chicken pot pie. Only crust on the pie, was draped across the top. A little bit of a let down, but it was OK as far as pot pies go. The next two meals came out after he was finished with the pot pie. Steak was cooked well, but dry. The Cajun pasta was a let down. Seriously who leaves the tails on shrimp in a pasta?! Aside from that the service wasn't terrible, but not great. Come on Cheddar's at least use real silverware.

Terrible experience coming here. Restaurant was half full and the hostess said we had to wait even though there were empty tables everywhere I looked. I felt racially excluded. Will never come here again.

This place is absolutely ridiculous!! Went to dinner with some girlfriends, two of us had to go orders. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. They were out of what my friend had ordered so a good 30 mins after waiting they decided to come tell us. She ordered something else. I get my food. We wait another 30 mins for hers. They finally bring it out when she says she’s ready to cancel it. It’s missing an order of shrimp but she lets it go. I get home to find that I’m missing THREE sides and my steak doesn’t look anything like what I expected at all.. Will NOT go back here ever!

Terrible place. We waited for over an hour, apparently they didn't have any waiters and they couldn't even give us a table. It was our first time here and I wouldn't be back.

If you have checked out the reviews on this place and do the same thing I did and ignore them, and give this place a chance you will find out there is nothing false about these bad reviews. The food is worse than Lubys. It’s like it was heated up after being on somebody else’s plate previously we ordered a ribeye and a sirloin they both tasted identical like they’re about three weeks old and what I don’t understand is why there were so many people in there. I’m sorry, cheddars but we gave you a chance and I hope you can get your act together now on the service. The kid was young. I don’t think he was trained very well and he just needed a little work, but he was very polite. The atmosphere of the place looks pretty good, but you can’t serve jailhouse quality food.

Very disappointed with this restaurant, I went on Saturday evening as we were celebrating our special event me and my guest. 1. Got seated down and got provided with the croissants but no utensils had to wait [we ask the waitress and she finally bring them to us] 2. order our food and our food finally comes out my food is missing the steamed broccoli. Had to wait 7-9 min to get my waitress attention and i even used the machine to “call waitress” let her know I’m missing my broccoli she brings it out within 3 min after. 3. I order the steak with tenders and my two sides. My steak was medium-well. Just want to look at the pictures this don’t look like medium-well and i notice this halfway through my meal and stop eating since i didn’t want to get sick. 4. Not single refill in our drinks nor asked if we wanted any refill at all. 5. Waitress not attentive didn’t check on us 6. Wen we finally paying my guest wanted his receipt machine didn’t provide it and that kiosk machine never has paper 7. After finally paying for our food I asked to speak to a manager. Spoke to her about my issue and felt more humiliated. I let her know my experience told her I’m a guest come here twice a month due to love the drinks and the steak and also part of the e club provided by cheddars she replied with “I’ve worked her for 15 years and i have never seen you in my life” I’m sorry what .? She just listen and said okay I’ll talk to her i have so many complains i have to and coach my staff on. I’m sorry but i myself worked in the fast food industry and that’s not the best way to handle and approach. What happen to people skills. Very disappointing will not be coming back. I know they don’t care for one less customer since you loose one you gain one. Other times I’ve come always good experience even when they were low In staff a while back the service was slow but the food and the staff was checking on us daily basis.

You can tell the restaurant has gone downhill as well as food quality. The broccoli casserole was a favorite but it’s not a lump of powdery cheese and crunchy rice. Also my meatloaf was burnt! The restrooms were stinky and dingy paper all over the floor … looks unkept very disappointed

Server Betty was extremely bothered with taking our orders and simply was not attentive or kind. We were uncomfortable requesting anything . One google review is not going to change everything, but I would hope it would get addressed so the next customers can have a pleasant visit unlike ourselves .

Bad service, order wasn’t taken correctly, pubic hair in our food. The silver ware was absolutely dirty and filthy. After a few bites and with food in our mouths, we noticed the pubic hair in our food. If that was in our fried food, I can imagine all the other fried food being dipped in that same fryer. Manager really wasn’t concerned.

Decided on this place for my cousins 16th birthday family dinner after going to Typhoon Texas Waterpark. What a disaster! We originally sent in my cousin to get a table for us and she was told that for large tables that can only split the check into 2 for the whole table or have it on one bill. Which wouldn’t have been a problem had the “policy” been consistent with every large group. There was a group with the exact same amount of people seated next to us who had a lot more than 2 tabs.. Next she said that the person responsible for the bill would need to make sure it was paid. Well, duh… Why would we take our family to a restaurant with no intention to pay? Lastly, we brought in an ice cream cake and asked to have it placed in the freezer. When it arrived at the table after our dinner, it was a milkshake. It was never put in the freezer. The short, female, thinning hair, manager was the absolute worst. Even though the food & drinks here are cheap, I’ll pass and go to another one of the surrounding restaurants.

The service was very pleasant and the staff were kind and attentive. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. The chicken tasted like it had been cooked in old oil, and the overall meal seemed reheated and lacked flavor. There was an unpleasant aftertaste that made it hard to enjoy. It’s been about 20 mins now and my stomach is hurting 😷

This was our 1st time and will be our last time. Chicken fried steak was all battered was a small chunk of meat , food was salty, didn’t refill my husband drinks, asked for extra napkins twice from 2 different servers and never got them. Food is not good, the only thing we enjoyed was the croissant with cinnamon butter. Our go to spot was closed early so we decided to give this place a try , and was very disappointed family of 4 here and it was a thumbs down.

I hate that I have to make this review because the workers were so nice. We purchased the cornmeal fish, red beans and rice, and corn. The food tasted so bad no seasoning no flavor. The best thing and most flavorful thing we got to eat was the free bread croissant and the appetizer: trio (cheese curds, chili cheese friend, and chicken tenders (queso was nasty) my husband ate new salmon with bland rice and broccoli. We ate the food because we didn’t want to waste our money. I packed my food Togo, but I’m throwing it in the trash after trying to eat it a second time and being disgusted by it. I love Cheddars, but I don’t know what happened at this visit/ location. We also purchased the painkiller (gross) and Texas Sweet Tea (we liked this one).

I ordered a to-go order on Saturday 10/18/25. I got to the restaurant right on time according to my order confirmation. I never received the text for curbside. I waited 5-10 minutes and then called. I was assured my ordered would right out. I waited 15-20 minutes and called again. I was told they were busy and my order would be right out. I waited ANOTHER 10-15 minutes before finally going inside. When I approached the to-go counter, there was a young guy standing there on his phone. He didn't even acknowledge my presence. I said "Excuse me. I am here for my curbside order." He looked up and said, "Name". I told him. He turned around and grabbed my food which had been sitting on the shelf the whole time. My food was soggy, sweaty, cold.... I asked what happened. He said "Dude they just moved me over here." I took the food because it was too late to go elsewhere by then, hungry kids. I called on my way home to speak to the manager and was put on hold and left in definitely, like at least 15 minutes. I finally hung up and called back. They answered immediately and I was put on hold. No one ever came back. I like this place but this was one of the worst experiences I have had at any restaurant ever. The lack of care and consideration.... They nonchalant attitude was very upsetting. Do better...

I'm pretty disgusted and disappointed with this establishment. I've worked in the food industry and would've never served food on a dirty plate. Then, when it was brought to your attention, the solution was to take 15+ minutes to reserve me the same food on a clean plate?! Are you serious?! And the AUDACITY for the manager to ask me what happened and then look shocked that I told them I was reserved the same food 15 minutes ago on a clean plate... ? I'm glad I took a picture because once I voiced how the steak is identical to what I was served, they didn't even bother. How many other times did yall pull this stunt with another customer. And to bring it back cold. 0 stars if I could. This was ridiculous, and I'll never be back here again. If they're going to "replace" your food, I'd hold onto the food until they bring you a new one before ever letting them take my food back.

On Saturday evening, my sister and I took our dad out to dinner. All three of us ordered the Lemon Pepper Chicken entree. It took quite awhile before our food was served. When it finally came out, one of my two sides was incorrect. I had requested steamed broccoli and carrots, but received corn (instead of carrots). My broccoli was overcooked, and I had to ask the waiter a few times for my carrots. Those were finally served when I was nearly done eating. When we were ready to pay, we noticed there was an extra charge for my carrots (when it shouldn't have been). We had to wait a long time before the waiter finally came over to help resolve the extra charge issue. Overall, it was a terrible dining experience! And was especially disappointing since our dad was visiting from out-of-state, and we had wanted it to be a great shared dining experience. Definitely will not be going back.
